TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR BEAUTYFULL SELF! FOR A GIFT OF COURSE!
Meg here! I LOVE LOVE when one of you brilliant ladies send me awesome ideas for Megsmakeup!
Holly O'Neil sent me a great idea that's not only fun but also lets us get to see what is REALLY making it into your cosmetics bags. I want to feature a new Meghead everyday and in return for divulging your secret stash-we're going to send you an item to add to it! So thank-you Holly! You get the first gift! Please send your answers and a picture of yourself to eleni@megsmakeup.com and we will pick a new lady to feature everyday! Thanks so much Holly! What a cool idea!
Name: Holly O’Neil
Age:38
Vocation: Sales Representative for a textbook company
What is in your purse? I was shocked that I had so many cosmetics in my purse. Here is an honest inventory of what I have right now. Light Pur minerals 4 in 1 pressed powder, Sandy-Buxom Lips, Ultra Glide by Urban Decay, LipPlumper by Victoria Secret, Carefree Pink Lipstick by Christian Dior, Eye Magnifer Mascara by Rimmel.
Guilty Pleasure: I secretly watch TV Shows like Project Runway, Flipping Out and Desperate Housewives. I never will admit it to my more intellectual colleagues. (I work with a lot of good old boys.) I love the show Biggest Loser and Dermalogica Spa Treatments at ULTA.
Skin color, type and any special skin concerns: I have fair sensitive/combination skin. I am always on the quest to look flawless but, never seem to achieve my goal. I try to combat redness in my face everyday.
Beauty inspiration: Anyone who is well put together. Lets face it well put together equates with effort. Some days require more effort than others.
I want to grow old gracefully while fighting the aging process every single step of the way.
Top 3 skincare products:
1.Dermalogica Microfoliant-- I love this stuff. It is the closest thing I have found to a silver bullet. I have been using this for more than 30 days and it has radically changed the appearance of my skin. This is gentle enough to use every day. (I have even used it 2x a day when my skin is acting up.) It has kept my skin clear and looking bright.
2.Kumaara Night Crème- There is something about this stuff that makes my sensitive skin say AAAHHH!
3.Under Eye Rescue by Kinerase- I do not always sleep well. This helps my eyes look less tired, puffy and decreases dark circles.
Top 3 tools of the trade:
1.Kabuki Brush- I cannot apply my foundation without this.
2.In styler- flat iron/curler- Yes. You have seen it advertised on TV and even Ads here on Megs Makeup. Don’t laugh. I love this thing. I got it as a gift thought I would hate it. It works great on my thick hair and is easy to use. I have not even plugged in my expensive Paul Mitchell straightener since I got it.
3.Eye shadow brush from Christian Dior- I once got a eye brush in a gift with purchase. This was no ordinary brush. It was shaped like an arrow. It is my all time favorite brush. It makes application easy! ( Someone please make another one . . . mine is getting old and very tired.)
Best beauty secret/tip: If you have thick hair, blow dry by bending at the waist. This will help your roots dry first. It makes a huge difference when you are trying to style it..
Three current beauty products you'd like to buy:
1.I am on the hunt for a wonderful mineral makeup that does not clog my skin and is not drying while it covers redness and makes me flawless.
2.I am still looking for that perfect moisturizer that has SPF, does not make me breakout and has the perfect amount of moisturizer. Most are either too heavy or two light.
3.More products that are natural/ green that are accessible at reasonable price point.
THANKS FOR GIVING US A GLIMPSE HOLLY! Who's with her on some of these picks and tidbits! Do you like this new feature? Are you going to participate?-xox Meg

Fabulous feature. So made-to-order for this site! I look forward to reading everyone's (and of course contributing my own.)
Wow! What an awesome way to get to know all of the megheads! I will send my stats in when I get home from work. Great idea Holly! Thanks.Holly, I love Project Runway. (I won't tell your secret to all your good ole boys) I would recommend checking out Pink Quartz Minerals. (sold on Etsy & through her own website) I fell in love with it last year. It helped clear up my skin. When I quit wearing it my skin went to crap. I tried other brand name minerals & just couldn't get the same effect. Now I'm back to PQM & my face is happy.I've been dying to try the In Styler. Now that I know it does wonders for thick hair it will be at the top of my wish list.
I believe my friend who ordered the In styler bought one and then got one for like a dollar. I am not sure if this special is still available but, maybe you could share the cost with someone.I even took my Instyler to the salon I go to because the girls who work there were shocked I liked it so much. They all used it and said "they were impressed with it."If you get one let me know how you like it!
I love learning about people and their beauty routines!I will definitely take part in this, and its such a cool idea! This site just gets better and funner everyday :)
Yep..this is good stuff. :)LOVE Holly's input and what a great new addition to the mix!!!
How fun! Holly, I would recommend Everyday Minerals if you are looking for mineral makeup. I've been using this for a couple of months now and really like how it is natural and how it looks great on my skin.

Ohhh what a great idea Holly O’Neil! I'll certainly be contributing, I can't wait to read about all of the beautiful Meg members as they're spotlighted! :D
What a great idea! I sure could use some ideas to what is good and works out there... There so much options and gets so confusing. Maybe with reading others regime, I may find something with someone with similar problems and find a solutions.
Very cool, although I can see one bad aspect...I bet I'll want to go out and buy everything the featured members recommend :D
Awesome Idea! Because when you are new there's a whole horde of people on here already and its hard to get to know everyone at the same time. This will help us get to know everyone one by one in DETAIL! Haha what makes us tick!I will definittally be contributing!

This is a great idea. It's another way to help introduce Megheads and bring the community closer together, not that it isn't already super close!Holly sounds like a great person. :)

Cool new feature! I've been a member of Meg's for a couple of years now - and it just keeps getting better. Not to mention more addictive!Holly, it was great learning more about you and your routine. I am another Project Runway and Biggest Loser fan. I used to swear I'd never be one of those reality TV viewers, but now - aside from Grey's Anatomy - they are my favorites. Your photo shows us how cute you are! And now I must get some of that Dermalogica stuff. I also am so tempted to get the instyler to try and tame my curls. This was a great idea. Can't wait to read more!

Cac-I would have never believed that microfoliant would have made such a huge difference. However, I was given a sample that lasted nearly week. I could tell a difference right away.I encourage anyone to get a sample and let the results speak for themselves!Let me know if you try it and how you like it.
i like this new feature because im nosy like that. i really dont carry much around w/ me. just whatever lip shade and blot powder. maybe i should change that...

YAY! Holly I'm so excited that you're idea was featured :) I'm definitely submitting my profile as well. And Meg, I'm so thrilled that you decided to put Holly's idea to use.I'm also in love with watching The Biggest Loser, although lately, I've gotten really obsessed with Dance Your Ass Off (I'm so excited that Ruben won!).Also, lately I've been testing out Korres Watermelon tinted moisturizer (has really great coverage!), which has spf 30. I'm really starting to love it... maybe we should go to Sephora and get you a sample, Holly!

I love so much that you have taken this idea Meg, its so great to have a site that is run by someone who is truly listen to their readers, and endless generosity. Meg you rock. I can't wait to read how everyone else answers the questions. I of course am taking ages on mine because if it does get printed I will want to make the very best impression on everyone. ;)

Talking about makeup and watching reality tv is more interesting than talking about math teaching philosophy any old day! Perhaps, it is just that I enjoy a light hearted escape!
