ALBA BOTANICA - SEA ALGAE ENZYME FACIAL SCRUB
MissRo here to ask y'all what is your daily or weekly cleansing regimen? Mine usually consists of cleansing with Juice Beauty's Green Apple gel followed by Korres' Olive & Rye Eye Cream and their Pomegranate Balancing Moisturizer with SPF 6 for the day or their Olive & Rye Night Cream. Only if I have been wearing makeup all day do I use some Witch Hazel as toner before putting on my creams.
Besides my morning and night routine, twice a week I do more of a facial treatment. After cleansing I scrub my face with Alba's Sea Algae Enzyme Facial Scrub. It's by far my favorite scrub. Most of the scrubs I have ever used are too fruity, or too harsh, or I break out with them.
I came across the Alba line when I was shopping in Whole Foods. This was a few years ago, when I had a bit more money at my disposal and I was doing all my shopping there. I would buy my groceries, skin care, hair care, body care products, everything! Now, sadly, I purchase only a few things there and do the bulk of my shopping at Farmer's Markets, Trader Joe's, and Rite Aid now that they carry many of these organic and natural lines.
The Alba scrub is made with aloe vera, corn meal, almond oil, with extracts of grapefruit, green tea leaf, spirulina, kelp, among many other plant enzymes. This scrub removes impurities, clarifies and refines the skin's texture while stimulating cell regeneration. It really makes your complexion much more bright and healthy and does not break the bank.
You can purchase the Alba Facial Scrub here.
So, tell me what's your daily cleansing regimen and what's your favorite scrub or exfoliator?

i really like st ives.. but i have a feeling there is some sort of fragrance which i dont like. i like the steep clean exfloliator from bliss.. and the murad pomegranate scrub that i got as a sample from megs makeup!! really really good and cooling
Personally, I haven't found an exfoliating cleanser that really works well for me. I just add salt or sugar to my regular cleanser, or use my face brush (it was from Yves Rocher, but I'm sure other brands make them too).

I really liked the Avon Micro-Exfoliant, I have a tube of that I am still using.I also can't go past a microfibre cloth for exfoliation. They're quite cheap and don't run out. They last for up to a year depending on use and care.
Never heard of this stuff..but I like to mix up my own natural scrubs, masks and peels. I actually love to discover new things to make my skin glow !
;) Gloss & Gum <3
My regime:Cleanse with pHisoderm gel and Clarisonic morning and night (usually preceded by m/u wipes at night). In the morning I follow with Murad serum and moisturizer (thanks Meg!), at night I use Lancome Collaser serum (usually moisturizing enough for me). I also use Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads once a week. I've been very happy with my skin using these products, it's never looked better!
I have never tried this scrub, but I have been dying to try Alba's Pineapple Scrub ever since Benefit discontinued their pineapple facial polish. Anyone tried it?
Love and Lipgloss,

I have started using Oil of Olay gentle facial cleanser, it removes all my make up and dosn't leave my face tight and dry. then I use sonja dakar moisturizer. I rarely exfoliate, about once a month I will use a peel off mask or I will use an enzyme peeling mask made from pumpkin. then I moisturize like crazy.
I'm still searching for the perfect skin regimin although I love my Clinique foaming cleanser. That's a staple in my shower. An absolute must have. I am still searching for a wonderful facial scrub. All the ones I've tried have been too grainy or coarse. I'm looking for a gentle exfoliator...one that doesn't irritate my skin or leave a rash.At night I use mark's skincare line - That's Deep cleanser followed by See Things Clearly moisturizer.
I'm a new fan of Juara Rice Facial Cleanser - gentle cleansing, makes my skin feel fab, and gets all that makeup off my face. Oh, and it has a lovely fragrance. I use this every night. I used to use Suki's exfoliating cleanser in the morning in the shower and loved it. I happen to be out of it right now, and I've decided to try the Juara rice scrub. It will be interesting for me to see how it compares with Suki. I have "mature" skin, not oily, but can be sensitive at times. Both Juara and Suki have been great for me. I know that some of the Megsters with more oily skin have used these two wonders and seemed to like them too.

Right now I am going through a lazy phase, so I always cleanse with those makeup wipes, right now I am using Mark, but I have used almost every other brand out there. Then I use toner, right now I am loving MUAC pore minmizing toner, then eye cream, at the moment it's Wexler, but not loving it, so once it's done, I'll be on to something else. Then, if it's daytime, I use a mattifier, Murad right now, followed by a primer, I switch around between 4 or 5, and am not in love with any of them, if it's night, I always use Retin-A, sometimes followed by serum, again, I have several in rotation. At least 2 days a week I use a few different masks, and a scrub, with my Clarisonic. I only skip makeup if I am off work and not planning to leave the house that day!
I cleanse my face with Loreal's Skin Genesis Deep Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser in the morning and then moisturize with Jason's Vitamin E oil. At night I use the same cleanser and moisturize with Cetaphil.

I've used St. Ives in the past and I've given that up since it's too harsh. I'm currently using Neutrogena Acne Stress Control scrub to get the worst of the flakes off. It has glycolic acid in it and green tea to soothe. It's pretty inexpensive and works well. It doesn't make me red, so that's a big plus. I really really liked using Cosmedicine's Medi-morphasis Self Adjusting exfoliator. It was fantastic, my skin has never felt that exfoliated.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Trader Joe's Lavender Salt Scrub. It smells fantastic and leaves my skin so soft and smooth.
I love Alba's lip products! The lip tints are especially my fave. Sheer, natural and pretty!I use Purpose facial cleanser twice a day, some Olay moisturizer daily, and St. Ives blemish control exfoliator once a week. Every other day I'll use 10% benzoyl peroxide.
Mm, green apple! What a beautiful scent. :DI actually use a cream cleanser in the shower, morning and night as the foam based ones can be a little too drying for most skin-types. At the moment I'm using Oil of Olay Vital nourishing wash creme, and it's lovely.Afterwards I use a pea-sized amount of Uskincare renewal exfoliating toner on a cotton bud in order to knock the ex foliation and toning steps over in one quick go!This ex foliating toner is gentle on my skin and really thoroughly cleanses and removes any stubborn dirt my cream cleanser may have missed.I finish the regime feeling glowy and smooth - exactly what I want. : ]
I used to exfoliate and scrub but it became too much of a hassle, i didnt' see it doing much for the skin,i was still breaking out. Now that i stopped exfoliating I stopped breaking out. Weird. But i use TN dickinson's witchazel, it's a toner and a cleaser.. i love it!!! my face feel as smooth as a baby's bottom after I use it!

THANK YOU!! I need all the skin help i can get!!I used to used Proactiv twice a day..But wasnt helping me at all.. So i went to CVS and check out there 100% guarantee section! I picked out a system and i can not remember what its called right now! But so far so good!! haha
ive been seeing this brand alot lately. i cant use scrubs but i wonder if they have a daily moisturizer with a high enough spf for the medications im on.
I only wash my face before going to sleep after taking off my makuep I use a gentle cleanser "Mixa Bébé" and once a week I use a very soft scrub from "Yves Rocher" it's a french company (by the way I am very surprise that "BluedevilKitty" knows that brand ! ) it smells AMAZING it's an apricot scrub and it smells just delicious...and not expensive at all !Take a look at the website !http://www.yves-rocher.com/

I still use the St.Ives scrub. I use my old Victoria's Secret scrubs on my legs before shaving and overall on the body b/c I want to get rid of them already!

Right now I'm using Proactiv and Mario Badescu. I'm really having a bad breakout and I need all the healing products I can get my hands on!
The facial scrub I use at the moment is by Finnish brand Herbina, it's a really basic and affordable brand, but I like some of their products. I have used Alba Botanica's lip products and shaving cream and love them and have been eyeing some of their other products on iherb.com (btw, new customers get $5 off first order by using code: ICI051 ). Unfortunately they don't seem to have this scrub there though.
My cleanser right now is a sample bar of Chagrin Valley's Grapeseed Shea complexion soap that I've been using for at least a couple months--their samples are generous--but it's almost gone. I do have a sample of their Rhassoul Clay and Yogurt complexion soap to try. As far as scrubs, I have 2 faves: the old standby, St. Ives Apricot scrub to even out my skintone, and Neutrogena Acne Stress Control scrub when my skin is misbehaving (this stuff is nice...smells like yummy cucumber and tingles while it's on your face).
I use this scrub on my face twice a week as well, I love how hydrated and smooth my skin feels afterward. My typical routine is this:Natures Gate 3 step acne system followed by Mario B eye cream, at night I slap on some vitamin e oil afterward to get an extra boost of hydration for my dry skin.
as far as cleansers go i am going through a few samples now, so no permanent attachments there. I use Laszlo's Mud cleanser also, but i dont think it cleanser very well. My favorite mask right now is an Exuviance Mask- it smells great and i love that i can peel it off. it really smoothes out my skin, and all the little imperfections! After i use Cosmeceuticals serum (no visible results there yet) and Kiehls (abyssine cream- it is pretty good for combo skin). I also use Kiehls Imperiale Eye cream- it is quite greasy but i can tolerate it as a night cream.
My routine is pretty simple- I use a gel cleanser (currently trying out the Burts Bees natural acne solutions line) and then I use their spot treatment. Once a week I use a mask to get rid of any gunk in my pores. I also use a cellulose facial sponge with my gel cleanser every other day to sort of exfoliate my face and it leaves my skin feeling clean like I just had a facial done. I also use a the garnier skin renew face massager as a moisturizer.

i use johnsons baby shampoo as a face wash- i have heard good and bad things abut doing this but it works for me and is especially good for removing eyemake up without any sting, the best scrub i have used is the avon clearskin exfoliator-it is exactly the same as the st tropez pre tan scrub (same colour, smell, texture etc) sadly they dont sell it anymore, i stocked up when it was on its way out but only have one bottle left :(
I ran across this the other day and was contemplating purchasing it. I currently use Kiss My Face Start Up exfoliating cleanser, it's very gentle and it's mainly Lemongrass! Then twice or three times a week I use OCM with castor and grapeseed oil.
I used to use this Citrus Scrub from Noxzema. It was the only thing that kept my acne at bay and it smelled amazing. Unfortunately, they discontinued it.I'm actually using St. Ives Apricot scrub right now. I bought a tube two days ago because I remember seeing a post about it on here awhile back. I used to absolutely loath it, but it has been years since I've actually tried it, so I figured why not. It's pretty abrasive..but other than that, so far so good, I guess. Although, it's only been two days.
I've been meaning to try the Alba line, and I've been looking for a new scrub. Might accomplish both goals at the same time and give this a try! ;)
My babe manages the WholeFoods in Portland... I will have to ask him to get this for me.
I have a crap load of facial cleansers that I use, I like to alternate since I get bored of the same thing over and over again. But my favourite exfoliator is the Face Polisher from a company called Sabon. It has a nice minty feel to it, and makes my skin feel nice and cold after. I love it.
I use the lemongrass scrub from garden of wisdom. It's so fine and concentrated! It makes my skin too amazing! It kinda looks like poo in the jar though but once you smell it your are in love!
i always see this brand at target, cvs, etc. but never really paid much attention to them. i do heard that the lip balms are good. i love face scrubs though. very refreshing.
This looks nice, but I like the look of the mask (on their website) better. I use a gentle scrub every evening. I follow this with toner and a Jojoba oil / Vit E oil mix. I am a skin junkie though and I am always on the lookout for new face products.
i usually use clean and clear in the morning because those bursting bubbles really wake me up and leave a tingly cool feeling on my face :). at night, i always give myself a facial.
I give myself a facial once a week. I love Dr. Brandt's microdermabrasion in a jar, it is the best scrub I have used.
My current face washing routing is Juice Beauty Cleansing Milk, Juice Beauty Toner and Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel for sensitive skin. I use Origin's Modern Friction face scrub 2-3 times a week depending on whether my skin needs it. I am really loving Modern Friction, since it is so gentle on my skin.
I use a foaming facial cleanser from jurlique and also use their gentle exfoliating cream each day and am quite happy with the results. Their products are very gentle on the skin and you only need a tiny amount so that over time they're not too expensive.
Wow, this product looks amazing!
oh wow i never heard of this. but it sounds great. everything is so costly now, its good to find a product that does it job and not too pricey. thanks for posting, i'll go check out this product. it sounds really nice :) its always hard to decide what to buy when there are soo many products out there. i use proactiv every night to exofilate my skin, and i think it works okay. :D
Another wish list brand! I see it in the stores and realize it's too expensive! I still want to try them, though.
I'm a huge Alba fan. Their stuff is so affordable, and the quality is great! Here's my daily routine (currently, as it changes every couple of months): Origins Perfect world washOrigins Organic face lotionKorres Evening Primerose eye creamTreatments:Alba Hawaiian peel (this replaced Juice Beauty's Green Apple Peel)Origins Modern Friction
I looove Alba Products! As for my regimen:Alba Coconut Face wash in the morning and at night.Alba Jasmine Face creme in the morning and at night.Juara Sweet Black Tea eye creme in the morning and at night. at-home Chemical Peel 1x a week.

My skin care routine changes regularly. At the moment I'm cleansing with Lush Angels on Bare skin which is lovely. My favorite scrub is Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant.
