CHANEL HYDRAMAX ACTIVE MOISTURE CREAM
Hello, Eleni here! I have a confession to make: I love Chanel products. Every time Megan comes to my place she runs out of my bathroom screaming at me "when did you get this Chanel cream?", "Have enough Chanel already?", "Why aren't you using the products I gave you to review?", "Are you cheating on the other companies that love us?". It's usually at this point when I open the wine to distract her.
Honestly, I have at least 10 favorite brands that I use almost daily ("too-much-free-time-alert"), but Chanel is like my desert island item. I have a long lasting, loving, co-dependent relationship with the Chanel Hydramax Active Moisture Cream. I never want to be anywhere without it. Even if I take small breaks using other moisturizers, I always go back to it.
Maybe it's because it smells like soap, or maybe it's because due to its blue-ish color, every time I put it on, my skin tone looks more even and I glow. One morning I put it on right after washing my face and when I went back inside my boyfriend asked me how I managed to put my makeup on so fast.
Do you know how good it feels to say "oh, no make up on, just washed my face" and see a jaw drop? Almost as awesome as when they ID you at the 7-11. A bit more awesome than when the sales girl insists you try on the smaller size.
There was a long period of time when I stopped using it, I think that my skin got a bit too used to it. Then there was another period when I felt guilty putting it on my skin, because let's face it, it doesn't contain the most organic ingredients. Yet every time I got back to it, it was like I rediscovered the meaning of life.
Of course, if I didn't invest so much on Chanel beauty products I could have bought 2.3 Chanel bags by now, but they don't smell half as good.
Have you ever tried the Hydramax line?
Do you have any makeup obsessions?
Is there a product that would drive you mad if discontinued?

Man, I wish I could afford Chanel products! Maybe one day. The only thing I have is a blush my friend gave me because it doesn't show up on her, but it doesn't really show up on me either lol, just leaves my cheeks looking glittery :(
I have never tried the Hydramax Line, but after reading you review I am very tempted to look it up and give it a try!! I don't have any make-up obcessions that I can think of...I really, really love Sonja Dakar skin care line. I love the Hydra Soft creme and the Fresh Eyes eye make-up remover, enzyme peeling creme, and the Ultra Luxe face wash....but the $$ keeps me on my toes. I have a specal piggy bank that gets all my change and every 6-7 months I empty it out and I go buy a venti latte from starbucks then I whip out my Visa credit card and go crazy on the Sonja Dakar web-site, but I always pay off the entire balance before I go "nuts" again on their web site!! LOL I am serious!! I do love that product line...AHhhhh I feel better now.
I've never used the Hydramax line but could definitely use max hydration on my parched skin. I have used other products in their line and have always felt very pampered when I did. I may have to check out this line since I am still in search of something to keep my dry skin hydrated.
i dont have any make up obsessions...or maybe i do. im really loyal to mac. if i see a product by another brand and hear good things, i have to check if mac has something comparable b4 i buy. im just getting back into actually wearing make up now that fall semester has started.

I love Chanel. I've not used this moisturizer but it sounds terrific. Right now, I've got a good supply of moisturizers though, so I'll have to wait to try this one. I've used Chanel blush, mascara, eyeshadows, and lipsticks. My obsession? There's a lipcolor Chanel made that I LOVED. And then one day they discontinued it. Oh my, I was crushed! I kept trying to find a store that had an old one tucked away somewhere, but I was not successful. It was called Galaxie. It's a kind of pink with a slight silver tint. Anyway, it's been out of production for a very long time - maybe more than 15 years. Yeah, and I still want it! I have a tiny bit left from my last tube, and I'm always trying to find something close to it. I just re-read this and think I am officially PATHETIC! It's just a lipstick. (but what a great one).

I will absolutely die if Lush discontinues Lemony Flutter. I drive an hour each way just to get my fix. It keeps my feet so moisturized. My current obsession is with the Tarte cheek stains. I want one in every color, which is totally ridiculous because I know that most of the colors won't look good, but it doesn't stop me from wanting one of each.
Oooh Chanel. My mother deep rooted my love for chanel very younge...Sigh I havnt had any chanel products in a while except for perfume. Too expensive for a college girls blood! But this product sounds to die for!I am in good need of a moisturizer that actually DOES~

I don't think I have every owned Chanel ANYTHING because it's on the pricey side, but this review cracked me up. I think every woman has one product or brand that she buys even though she knows that she shouldn't. My obsession would probably be lip glosses and balms, and yes, that does include Carmex. I always have a couple of lip products on me at all times, and will continue to buy those addicting tubes and pots if they catch my eye in the store. I'm looking to forward to reading about some of others' obsessions!
thanks for the review eleni. i don't have anything from Chanel either and it's that darn price tag. but hey, if it has your bf saying how good you look bare faced even though he thinks you have makeup on then that price tag does not even matter! my makeup obsessions change all the time. one month i'll be obsessed with blushes then another month i'll be obsessed with eyeshadows. right now my obsession is with lipstick. i just got a purple lipstick which is perfect for the fall season!

I'm obsessed with Everyday Minerals, and I freak out whenever a product gets discontinued because I'm afraid my foundation will be next.
^ Samezies. If EDM stopped making foundations or just went out of business, I dont know what I would do. Its so hard to find something that you actually LOVE, rather than just settle for. Im so happy with it, and I would freak if I couldnt get it anymore.
i love channel
I'm actually not a very big fan of chanel creams, when i worked at the chanel counter... it was the first time i've ever touched chanel creams... i was trying to help a lady to pick out a face cream, i dabbed my finger into all of them and they didn't feel very.. nice on my hand.. some were sticky... others just smelt really bad... but i do love their make up.right now i'm crazy about Everyday minerals, but super angry that they changed their web structure and got rid of paypal :( no more edm for me!

I love this product. I keep on my bedside night table and use it more or less automatically as I watch the last tv program of the night. It is my comfort-level cream, the one I go to when I can't make up my mind which of an array of newfangled ones I am trying will work. This works. Chanel keeps turning out slightly different versions of this, but the ice-blue gel is the one I love the most.Oh and when Meg scolds, if you are like me you can tell her you use all of the ones she gives you. You just keep this as the old faithful that never lets you down. That's what I'd say.
Not that this has anything to do with anything.. BUt i have a funny channel story for you guys....I went to high school with my boyfriend now.. but he wasnt my boyfriend then... We had an awesome opotunity to go to Italy with the EF tour group.. so that was my 18// Graduation present from my parents... ...So we went and had a great time.. Fast foward 5 years later My boyfriend bought a bottel of chanel cologne and it is STILL half full... ...I always give him crap because i go through perfume like toilet paper and am replacing like every month! haha.. But on his side he is a hicky/redneck who works in a machine shop so i should just shut my mouth and be happy that he actually know WHAT chanel is! haha..I thought it was funny so i thought i would share!!! <3 hehe
I have never tried any of the chanel line, but one day I hope I can afford it. My cannot live without products are my Natures Gate face wash system, without it my skin sucks. And well with sucky skin my makeup just doesn't look as nice.
Wish I could afford me some Chanel! I've never had the luxury of trying it out! I cannot live without mark cosmetics. I'm absolutely addicted to the stuff. I would always have a Flip For It palette (probably last springs London), my Make It Big mascara, and a Kissink pen in Red Siren.I also am mourning the closing of Hard Candy cosmetics. :( At least I know their website is down and their products at Ulta are all sold out. I LOVED their Take Out Makeup Palette. It was my go to palette before I fell in love with mark stuff! I also can't live without my Urban Decay makeup. Give me some midnight cowboy rides again eyeshadow, some big fatty mascara, the brown 24/7 eyeliner and the primer potions and I'm set and ready to roll out and dance the night away!
Oh I LOVE Chanel face products. Six years ago when I lived in Europe that's all I was using was Chanel facial and makeup products. Living in a foreign country not knowing the language I was very limited. I couldn't get much at the drugstore because I couldn't read the packaging. So this is where I fell in Love with Chanel. All their packaging was in every language you could imagine, so I knew what I was buying. I still use Chanel blush every now and then but haven't use the facial stuff in years which this post is making miss it. Maybe I need a trip to the department store ;-)
I love Chanel. It is a true quality product. However, Chanel and I have drifted apart due to a change in personnel at the beauty counter. They changed staff and the new staff never really picked up any product knowledge. So, I moved on to other cosmetic lines . . .
I wish I could afford this! It sounds like an amazing product, and anything that is soapy and blue is great in my book.I've just gotten over my disappointment in EDM's discontinuation of the kits, even though they were replaced with the discounts. Even though sometimes the overall price comes to be cheaper than the kits were, the bases are still a lot more expensive. :(
Agreed that stuff is a bit out of my makeup price range although I do splurge on my brushes every few months! My biggest makeup addiction is MAC and Smashbox brushes I feel these are the essentials, I do have multiples of all the face and eye brushes!
;) Gloss & Gum <3
ooh i want this to be sent with my makeup points but i generally stick with things i dont feel obligated to use everyday... maybe its cus im only 18 lol. but im sure as im older i'll start using it more
Wow.. I would LOVE to try Chanel creams, or any of the other high end brands. :| Being a student [I know, get the violins out!] I can't afford it at present. You just wait until I'm qualified an in the workforce, baby!
Have you ever tried the Hydramax line?Sadly no.
Do you have any makeup obsessions?Christian Dior liquid eyeliner is my saviour. I can't *really* afford it but I work my budget around it. It's just too good!
Is there a product that would drive you mad if discontinued?^This.
I love Chanel's Translucent Powder! I don't get to buy it very often but the container lasts a long time! It is the best translucent powder that I have every used. It is so fine and it makes any foundation look better.
Chanel is really out of my budget but someday I will afford it! I'm not really good when it comes to skincare so I can't recommend anything although I've been using the Vichy products that Meg sent me! Thanks Meg!I'm really addicted to blush so a good blush I a great purchase in my books!
I am a huge lover of Chance by Chanel it is my favorite fragrance, and i would be totally mad if they discontinued it! Dont really care much for the rest of the scents.Thank you for a nice review on Chanel skincare- it is also out of my budget, but i was always curious to know- does skincare by Chanel live up to its name in fashion/fragrance industry. Glad to know it does!
I have not try ed any obsessions, looking foward to trying it.
I have never tried this product or anything from this line. The way you describe it makes me want to run out and buy it right away. I am very careful what I put on my skin though so I have to do a little more checking into the ingrediants.

It's probably my goal in life to be able to afford Chanel! No, I have not tried the hydramax line :(.Makeup Obsessions? How about makeup in general. Blush, eyeshadow, mascara *swoon*! And there isn't a anything that I can think of that would drive me crazy if it was discontinued, honestly and oddly.urgh why are those words bold??
I wish I could afford Chanel, but sadly, I can't. Maybe someday a long, long time from now :PThe only thing that I've been really, really bummed about being discontinued was a face scrub that kept my skin clear, acne free, and not oily. I've been searching for a replacement for probably 2 years now, sadly.
sigh, i wish i could try this, but unfortunately, i cannot afford chanel products. im sure it works great. maybe one day ill be able to buy it in the future :)im obsessed with eye make-ups and skin cleansers. they're so important to me!if avon stopped making their face mask cream, i don't know what i would do! even though you're only supposed to use it twice a week, i use it every day since i have really oily skin and ive never had acne because of it :)
I would love to try a product like this one, one that can refine my skin and give it a refreshing look. I also am a fan of chanel products so I'd definetly be willing to try this out.
Never tried Chanel skincare products, but what you described sounds absolutely lovely. As for my obsessions: I wouldn't be able to function (happily or prettily) without without the Alba Botanica Hawaiian skincare line, Lush (King of Skin, specifically), Ren (Guerande Salt Exfoliating Body Balm and the Omega 3 Overnight Lipid Renewal Serum), or Chanel, Chance Perfume.

I always said i'd go crazy if the perfume stella, by stella mccartney was discontinued. Guess what? It has been discontinued in Europe. Just my luck. After that, I don't think I'd ever go mad about anything getting discontinued.... It's just life
I have only gotten Chanel on occasion. Mostly make-up brushes and perfume. No skincare so far. This sounds wonderful!
all chanel's stuff looks so glamorous, and like it could work well. i wish i has the money for this stuff...
I love Chanel products too but it's rare I get to purchase any because they're so expensive. =/ I'll have to put this cream on my wish list.
I LOVE Chanel products especially when it comes to my eye area. This cream is amazing and I seriously take it everywhere with me. I will most likely never be without it. :)
this looks amazing! i really want to try this!
