DAVID BABAII FOR WILDAID! HAIR POLISH

Meg here! In the spirit of everyone discussing their green habits and loves I thought it could be a good time to bring up David Babaii for WildAid. Hairstylist Babaii partnered up with his client Kate Hudson and came out with a line based on his years as the go-to guy for Angelina and Nicole. Yup, That Angelina and That Nicole.
It's nice when people in any profession use their celebrity and skill for a charity. Babaii and Hudson decided to join their efforts and give a portion of the proceeds to stop the illegal trade of endangered wildlife. (Insert Cougar Joke Here)
Some of us were lucky enough to be sent David Babaii's Hair Polish to test out. First off, it smells beautiful-like a really upscale baby powder. I know that's a strange description but picture if Barney's sold a baby powder line. It has a little bit of a milky, illuminating sheen to the product. It's not clear. It seems to glisten.
My hair is that fabulous consistency of oily roots with the beautiful dry damage of coloring. Don't be jealous. Usually, I tend to shy away from hair polish and glosses because I fear I will turn into Miss Limp Flat Hair. I don't want to need viagra for my hair!
Fear not! I used a dime sized amount and steered clear of my roots. I used this on my damp hair, blew it dry, used my flat-iron and then used a little to finish it off! Voila! I don't know about WildAid but David tamed the beast that is my hair. (Seriously folks, I'll be here all night-just warming up with the cougar bit.)
I really like this product and I like that some of my money spent on it will go towards animals out there. Because, let's face it, it really is a jungle out there. (I know I know.)
Who else has tried David Babaii's products? What did you think? Any other Hair Polish fans?

You always have the cutest posts! I love reading them! If this stuff is good enough for THOSE celebrities and then gets followed by a glowing review by you then it MUST be a great product!
This hair polish was amazing! I was raving the other day about how much I love the Toni&Guy one and how I wish I could find it in the states. This one is even better! Not only it smells like something between soap and baby powder (I LOVE baby powder smell), it somehow is kind of dry. So, if you're not a big fan of washing your hair every day (and you shouldn't be because it's bad for your hair) then you're going to love this hair polish. Doesn't make the hair greasy, doesn't make it heavy, the smell stays on and the frizz off.
I bought this about 6 months ago and I like it a lot. It is one of the only hair polishes that doesn't weigh down my fine hair.

I'm glad to hear that it doesn't weigh down your hair. I have fine hair that gets weighed down if I use the wrong product. I think I'm going to have to buy some of this stuff... it sounds like a winner. Plus, it fits my criteria (green, cruelty free & charitable).
I haven't tried this product yet and the name is absolutely new to me, but I LOVE the idea that part of the money will be used to help animals in need. I am a ASPCA member myself and anybody who knows me in person is aware that I donate whenever and wherever my budget allows me to. Therefore I think this is a great idea and more companies, whether they are "green" or not, should step up and follow.

I'm a member of ASPCA too! My friend gave me a membership for Christmas, and Best Friends for my birthday. I've started to get involved with Best Friends quite a bit.
I really love David Babaii products! So I am very excited to see that Meg's is finally sharing in the love. His products are well made, do their job, are fairly green, and support a great cause! I have not tried the hair polish yet. But I will. My favorite product of his right now is: Bohemian Beach Spray. It smells delightfully sweet. It helps to keep my curly hair frizz free. It gives me a sexy and tousled look. The spray is light weight. My hair is soft and touchable when I use it. I just feel really good using his products! BTW-You can find many of his products at Sally Beauty! I totally recommend this line. It is wonderful!
wow sounds like a great product! i dont like to use hair products except shampoo and sometimes conditioner because my roots get oily pretty fast and everything else just speeds up the process. and i dont like to put my face on the same pillowcase that hairspray remnants are on.. i dont want to risk a break out, but i do love shiny smooth hair and this sounds like a good product for that!
aww this sounds awesome! especially that part of the money helps wild animals.Ugh I have the same problem actually... Overly colored dryed out midsection and ends. oily flat roots. I usually hust hairspray the hell out of them!! to make them stand up! but that is just contributing to the drying :Salso gotta try the bohemian beach spray kellie mentioned for my curls!

I'm wondering if these products have sulfates or silicones in them? Does anyone know? I'm on the no sulfate no silicone routine and it's getting harder and harder to find products that i can use.....BUT i love that this product is helping the environment and animal causes by giving back! i guess i'll have to stop in sally's and check out the ingredient listings and try to figure out if there are my dreaded cones in it :)
I have been looking for a product that will help to shine up my overly dry curly hair. This sounds like it is definitely worth a try. I love that it can be found locally at Ulta, Acme, RiteAid, etc....
i havent tried this but i love hair products that leave your hair shiny! i wish my hair would look like the girls in the commercials lol.
I have really thin hair, and it doesnt feel heavy on my hair. I like it a lot, but I havnt used it since I gave up on styling my hair :(
I al affraid of shiny hair product since my hair is a lil bit on the oily side too lol...Again I couldn't stop laughting at the "I don't want to need viagra for my hair!" cause now I actually think that I NEED VIAGRA for my hair any recipes? lol
Chloe http://thehollywoodheels.blogspot.com
I'm with cholehollywood on this one....I need Viagra for my hair too. I have Meg's problem - oily roots, and ridiculously dry, straw-like hair (you throw bleach over your head once a month and see what happens - I have this whole patchy hair color thing going on - it's the only solution - believe me I've tried everything). Now to get the hair away from the frizzy, hand in electrical socket as styling device look, I have to use products that tame the frizz. When you do that, volume, which I'm short on anyway, goes out the window. And yes it's always great to see products with a conscience. I try to throw my money at brands who support charities whenever I have the choice...are you listening marketing people? - there are more and more of us doing this :)

I'm with you too on this one I need Viagra for my hair too first it's like a frizzy bush so I straighten it and then the frizz has gone but its flat as a pancake !!!
LOOOOOOOL me too i need viagra for my hair they are sooo thin ... lol
I've heard good things about these products and you've gotta appreciate the charitable aspect and the ingredients. That Bohemian Beach Spray piques my interest!
Okay now I WANT this NOW! LOL! There are SO many damn hair-care products on the market who can keep up?I love that the creator has made not only a product that works and is reasonably priced BUT that also sends a message that is impressive! Is this line sold anywhere in a retail store? Thanks for sharing and I'm a sucker for that baby-powder scent!
Mjsred-It is sold at Sally's Beauty on-line or in-store! It is so great! I use the Bohemian Beach Spray. I adore it!
To my complete delight...I was one of the lucky ones to try this product! The fragrance is heavenly to me. I know Meg said it's sort of like an upscale baby powder scent ..this didn't smell like that to me but I get what she meant. I am always turned off by baby powder smells unless it's on a baby! This didn't smell like that to me...but even though I can't put my finger on the smell...I really REALLY like it! It's a girly smell! For those of you that are compulsive hair end smellers, this product is for you! You know who I'm talking about...I always see young girls pulling their long hair in front of their face and smelling the ends! Well this would become a total habit if you have the DAVID BABAll hair polish on your ends! I haven't tried putting it completely throughout my wet hair after shampooing yet but I have been using it on my dry ends and am very pleased with the results!
Jeanasina!
Ba boom-your really hitting the cougar jokes out of the ball park lol.I love that a portion of this goes to wild animal welfare-that alone would make me buy it.I too have ry hair(too much dying it,straightening it etc)but can find some serums a bit greasy like frizz ease-I know a lot of people find it great but I used frizz ease once and only once, also the packaging of this line is fabulous-I read somewhere he sells hair tools too-must check hat out on his website. Thanks for bringing us this-we have to help all animals as much as we can.
PotionPrincess♥
I have never tried it or heard of it.. but i LOVE that its for a good cause!! .. I loove glosses.. but you have to be VERY careful not to use to much or it will look oily!! <3
I'm with you there RoXySurFinGrL28 I haven't either heard of the product or tried it. I don't think I have tried any hair polish ever. Now that my hair is short I don't really use much products in it anyway, just a little bit of wax and hairspray (gotta love having short hair!). I'm also always careful about using products that make my hair shiny, because it can get quite oily easily.I wonder how this product would work on short hair? Does anyone have any experience with that?
I have been dying to try these products. I gradually want to switch over to all products not tested on animals and hair care was becoming one of the biggest challenges. As soon as I run out of my current shampoo and conditioner set I'm getting one of his. I am always skeptical of hair polish too because I have that same glorious texture. I will have to give this baby a try!
haha great post! I have fine hair that is limp, I may look into trying this. I actually have been thinking of washing my hair every other night to see if that helps. Sometimes I think washing it daily may be more damaging then good. This may be something good to use on those days I don't wash!
Meg sent this to me and I love it! Really a great product.
I've heard of this line. I was intrigued at first because of the whole they donate to wildlife funds kind of thing, but this really does sound like a great line. I have the same problem as you Meg. My hair is totally greasy on the top and super, super dry on the bottom. I love shine serums and that kind of thing though. I've found as long as I apply them whenever my hair is wet, I'm good to go. Applying to dry hair, on the other hand, is quite disastrous.
This is a new product to me, but I've read a bit about it and it seems to have good reviews. Yay. I want to try it :p
Meg I have the exact same problems with my hair. It's long and fine and tends just to go flat. I'm also all for natural products and have found good alternatives for skincare but not for my hair. If this worked for you hopefully it'll work for me to. Cross your fingers!
This sounds lovely, and wow - "oily roots with the beautiful dry damage of coloring" - that's my hair to a tee. I may try this out, sounds lovely and guilt-free which is what we all like! :D
actually i just tried his shampoo and conditioner last night. too early to speak of any results, but i loved the exotic scent with a hint of coconut.
OK-My Sally Beauty Store just told me that the line will no longer be sold at their stores because of some licensing disagreement. I can not confirm the validity of this statement. I tried to research but had no luck. But I can tell you that they were on sale. And the ladies at the store said that they would be half off over labor day weekend. I wish that I could catch that sale. Too bad if the line will really be gone from there. Sometimes it is more convenient and faster to pick something up in store if you are out and about.
Kellie I think they are still online at Sally's. The don't even carry it at the Sally's in Canada though but they didn't mention it not being available anymore in the states. I spent a whole night trying to find a way to get in here in Canada without paying more in shipping then the product cost. I finally found a place that had shipping for $15 which is still pricey but not as bad. I can't wait till it gets here! Has anyone tried their flat iron? I don't have a flat iron and I really need one. They are manufactured by FHI any pretty decently priced. I have fine straight hair so I don't need the heaviest duty flat iron out there but I want a good one.
Supposedly they are in the process of getting rid of their stock. Too bad! I don't know about their flat irons. But overall they seem to carry some pretty quality items. Good luck!
"I don't want to need viagra for my hair!"Your posts always make me smile! It's wonderful that they are donating some of their profit to help animals.
OK Ladies, I had a chance to try this hair polish out and I freakin' LOVE IT! My hair (as you know from a previous post) is naturally curly. So, I am obsessed with anything that is going to tame the frizz and help me achieve a smooth blow out. Well, Babaii did it! I have tried my fair share of glosses and polishes and I have to say that is a fabulous product. Smells amazing, tamed the frizz, my blow out was so smooth and manageable...did I say I love it! In case you are wondering where to buy it, here's a link - http://www.db4wildaid.com/store_locator.aspx.MissRo :)
Gosh I'm a sucker for a good review I use the curls system and i have to say although it works I am looking for something less expensive and I'm keeping my options open!
;) Gloss & Gum <3
I have never tried this line (or heard of it for that matter) but I am always a fan of a good cause. I have very oily/ greasy roots (which I have to wash everyday or it's gross). I may actually try this product (who doesn't like the smell of baby powder). :)

i have never used hair polish before :O the only hair products i use are shampoos and conditioners xD. but my friend loves hair products. i'll definitely tell her about it. i might try it out too. my hair is flat though. :[ i wish it had more volume
Kellie76, It is true... this line decided they didn't want to be sold in Sallys Store's apparently we were suppose to get them at our store and now we aren't because the company wants to head in the other direction and not be sold at sallys!
MeLlY
I flove hair serums! Sooo wanna try this one, especially with the way you described it.
http://ediblelove.wordpress.com/
I've tried a similar product to this! It makes your hair look VERY shiny and healthy. Who knows what's in it? But i love it!
I love hair polishes but haven't found a good one since mine was discontinued about 5 years ago. I've been wanting an excuse to try something from the David Babaii range and this is it! Thanks for the review.

I gotsome of this a few weeks ago and you are so right...it doesn't weigh the hair down at all. Perfect - I love it.
These are great reviews, and it seems like I really need it cause my hair is really thin.
Def want this! Nice article
I usually dont like using this kind of stuff either because I think my hair will go flat and oily..u make it sound like this stuff works just fine tho. I might try it. thx =)
