FALLIN' IN TO YOU!

"I keep on fallin' in and out of love with you...I never loved somebody the way that I do you"
Goddess Granny lovin' on Alicia Keyes lyrics AND the fact that in spite of the un-relenting heat here in "Welcome to Hell" Texas, I am starting to see glimpses in magazines and around shady-corners of what's to emerge once FALL begins to cooly emerge in all it's glory!
I adore Autumn, it's my favorite season and everything about it makes me happy! I grew up in the land of pumpkins, cornstalks, and apples and even after 25+ years in the South, I CRAVE this time of the year like no other!
It's like the Goddess of Nature herself paints the earth with the shades that flatter me the most and the lighting that happens when the skies turn murky casts a spell of gorgeous on me that really bewitches...soft-focus anyone?
Forget Spring: I "come alive" the most when things begin to fade away into their deeper resting places...
I love to morph: to re-invent, to channel, and to create a "new me" by the use of makeup and fashion that usually ends up reflecting my mood and personality changes better than a Magic 8 Ball ever could! I can "become" almost anyone I choose by using myself as a canvas and as a result, morph a bit into that which inspires me right at that minute, sometimes right down to minute personality changes as well: it's amazing how one can TRULY become a seductress when deep winey-red lipstick is smoothed on even if the sun is brightly shining! :)
I'm weary of all the "gloom n doom" in our lives lately and am determined to have some FUN with my looks in the months ahead...
I am over the moon about the "colors" deemed by those who determine the trends this Fall and in spite of the fact that sundresses will be a staple for a couple more months around here, I am gearing up and getting ready to yet again put on a new game-face and change it All up a bit!
I am dying to tap into my inner Joan Jett, to seduce like my fav vamps on HBO's "True Blood", and to simply let go of the last sparkling rays of Summer (that burn my pasty-self anyways...) and step a suede-booted toe into the darker-side of glam! I know many love the tanned and fresh look of the all American girl but I for one have always preferred the more dramatic and Fall 09' promises to give me everything one who prefers life in the shadows craves!
Coco Chanel (God I love this woman and her quotes!) said that in order to be genuinely stylish, one must ALWAYS dress one season ahead of the crowd and I'm already standing at that velvet rope of style this year: I have heard the whisperings about purples in all shades, bronzes fit for a Roman lady of rank, golds that would tempt Midas himself, and those deep shades of mustardy-yellow that may look ghastly in the compact but create the glow of fluttering aspen leaves when brushed on a smooth eyelid...deep smokey eyes still prevail combined with lips stained with current and magenta-pinks that melt into the skin creating the blush of a fallen-angel have me at first glimpse!
I'm thinking I shall deepen the red in my hair to the color of a high-bred cocker spaniel and turn to those purples in all their glory on my eyes, lots of deepest grey and black for accent, along with smudges of mustard and bronze for sparkle...only the faintest promise of beige for my cheeks and then either I shall perhaps actually FIND the "perfect nude" I covet for my daytime-lips but then pull out all the stops at night with either magenta or deep-berry lips combined with perhaps Urban Decay's "Ink for Eyes" in purple? DEEP shades of purple and crimson on my nails of course!
I am looking at boots: high suede ones to be worn with either jeans and black tops or murky-floral dresses and dark tights...touches of black leather for SURE and maybe even a few tasteful rocker-girl chains...I'm loving the look of "Guess" for Fall as well as the affordability compared to many.
I want to be Laura Croft going to the mall on a good day and not even a little bit innocent this Fall: I want to maybe one more time in my life be just a bit of a "Bad Girl" because the fashion and colors allow it and because I think I'm ready to throw it out there just for shits and grins! I have been a bit complacent for a while, secure in my easy-attitude and style but no more: I wanna' BE that girl that makes men weak in the knees and the one who woman gape at with a mix of disgust and admiration and have decided that there's no time like the season ahead! I am overdue and need to amp it up before the white-eyelet rolls around yet again!
I want to seduce the season to the max and celebrate the golds of sultry-afternoon light and the shadows of purple wisps of smoke...Fall defines me like no other and this year, I WILL pay attention to the magazines and fashion-pages and do it justice! My husband has been warned. :)
He's used to me in either workout gear or cargo-pants and tees so he has NO idea what's about to slam him in the face
So talk to me: what is YOUR favorite season and how does it inspire and affect how you look and feel? Do you crave the changes in fashion or do you simply do what works best without any consideration for the calendar?
Have you also been planning a "new look" and if so,please share your plans!!! Let's help each other navigate all that's ahead and help each other plot and plan for one helluva' rockin' Fall look!
I am in LOVE with the Nars Fall 09' makeup collection,it defines all that I want...so far at least.Their colors and products are ALWAYS on point and the quality is amazing!

I've been trying to get out of my t-shirt and jeans look. I love jeans, I could never give them up. But lately I've been into dresses and dressing my jeans up by wearing heels. Usually I would wear flip flops all year around, but I'm finally breaking out of that habit. Plus, heels make you taller and make you look slimmer :-) I definately love my "new look". I feel much more girly and me.I've been looking for some brown leather boots (and black).. ankle or mid leg length to wear with my skinny jeans. Anyone know of some good ones let me know!
Summer used to be my absolute favourite season. But lately I've started to like the heat much less and I don't want to tan either. I am very much looking forward to fall because that means I will be able to use my new boots! I bought a pair of boots last week in Denmark and can't wait to wear them. The boots have a bit of a heel too and I'm usually a flats kind of girl. I have been wanting to go the more feminine way and wear more heels, but then I've been too lazy to practise. This fall I promise to wear more heels and start to feel comfortable in them!
i love the fall too. i can't wait to wear boots, jeans and leggings (not all at once). most of my clothes are for cooler weather like in the fall so i have a lot of things i like to wear. and i'm ready to style my hair more often since i have to tie it up a lot during summer
The new NARS collection is devine!! I am in lust. And I am totally digging the Fall make-up trends. They are gorgeous. But I do go for these types of colors to some degree year round. In the Fall I can really indulge. I just bought the perfect Fall nail color-Essie Angora Cardi. Loves it!
I like summer only because it is very relaxing to be away from school (and my bday is June 21st). But fall is by far the prettiest. I don't follow makeup or fashion trends that well. I just wear whatever fits my style. And if you love the NARS fall stuff, you MUST see this post @ pursebuzz: http://www.pursebuzz.com/2009/08/guess-the-brand-nyx-vs-nars-results/Too bad I don't have NYX or NARS where I live!! NYX is really really cheap and the quality, I hear, is close to MAC.And I have also been trying to get a nude lip. I want to get Revlon Colorstay Lipstick in Smooth Nude and layer it over Urban Decay Lip Primer Potion and top it off with UD Pocket Rocket in Kirk. But those products are pretty pricey! This title reminds me of the pickup line, "If I dig a hole called love, would you fall in with me?"
You know, my Grandmother had a 'look' that was absolutely timeless - she had the most magnificent brows that she always emphasized with a pencil, as she got older, she went from using mascara to dying her eyelashes, tiny bit of foundation, powder and blush, and a pink, full mouth. Her nails were always French manicured, and you never saw her looking anything less than perfect. She had this natural glamor. I wish I could cultivate something like it - I can't quite seem to pull it off quite as she did. There was nothing wild about her look, but she owned it in such a way that you could spot her a mile away. There was no confusing her with anyone else - EVER. I'd love to settle on something that was my own, timeless, effortlessly glamorous, but I can't seem to find it. When I do, I'll let y'all know. And as much as I love purple and gold rich colours - I look awful in them - either that, or I just can't / don't know how to find the correct shade....we should all try different looks and share photos - that way we could have kind and thoughtful feedback about what works and what doesn't.

Hi! My fave eyeshadow color is purple, I own tons and tons of purple eyeshadow and I think the right shade looks good in everyone. It's much like red lipstick, you just have to pick the right shade. Since your eyes are green, warmer purples (that have more red to them than blue) will look awesome!!! And I love the idea of sharing looks. maybe a Face of the day (FOTD) forum or something would be awesome!
Hands down I am a Autumn Gal! I love the Fall. BY the way, GG, my mouth dropped open and I could smell spices, see scapes of smoke, golds, and purples and feel the cool air on my neck with your description of FALL. You've given my FAVORITE time of year a new life and I thank you for this awesome review. No one gives fall the attention it deserves and you have done it, and done it very well I might add!I plan to wear more make up this fall. I want to get into the smokey eyes, wine lips, nude cheeks this year and actually dress for my favorite time of year.I am going thru the change so I don't know that I will be shrouded in sweaters and leather, at least not during the day! Who knows what a fall eve may bring. Urban Decay has some colors I am going to check out today. Get out your "ink spot" put on your boots, and Glam On!
I'm a summer girl! I come alive and I go a bit crazy too. I love shorts, skirts and summer dresses. Currently, I live in Argentina and now it's winter. Spring starts in September. It's a wonderful time to be in BA. On the first day of spring people give you flowers (only if you're a girl) and everyone is really happy. It's really nice! I've already got my spring clothes and makeup from the states! Also, fashion is a year or two behind down here. Leggings were big this year, but I think they were big a few years ago in the states-correct me if I'm wrong. What's really funny is the fact that MC hammer pants have never gone out of style here! Every shop has at least one pair! Must have fast ride from Nars new fall collection! So pretty!
i love all the seasons but i most look forward to fall and spring. i usually carry my spring stuff through summer and alot of my fall looks into winter. and for winter, i just add blues and silvers and whites. im almost as excited as you are for fall. i hope to get more wear out of my MAC bling lipstick i purchased last fall as well as my MAC decorative lipglass. like you, i want to channel true blood (my new fav show). im hoping for places to go to play up the vampy look which i was too afraid to do last year. im hoping people wont be bold enough to do it yet again and i want to go more over-the-top with my looks. the trends do appear to be going bolder even for daytime. im wondering how well that will translate when i start my internship.

I've been wanting to cut my hair for several reasons: my ends are so damaged, I need a new look, I can't maintain my long hair. That's why I've finally decided to get a haircut. I also want to try wearing red lipstick so I've been on the hunt for the perfect red for my Asian complexion.
hi nina0205! have you tried orange based reds? for asian and olive skin tones it's usually the best bet.
I am so with you MJSRED! I have gotten complacent all the way around. What I mean by this is I have gotten a little hum drum in my clothes and appearance. I have some very nice clothing pieces but, overall dress fairly conservative. (I work in a good old boy industry. I have boss who really frowns upon anything to revealing.)
However, I have been thinking about reinventing myself for quite awhile. I have been thinking about what I want to be and how I want to be perceived. Now, is a time for action for me. I am working on diet, exercise and dress. I have implemented more fruits and veggies into my diet. It has worked amazingly well and I have not been hungry.
I struggle getting to the gym. However, I have been working a lot in my yard and garden. I have trouble going to the gym when I have chores to do. I guess I need to reprioritize.
I have gone through my closet for fall. I have taken quite a few things to my seamstress. I am making sure everything is fitting properly. I have updated some of favorite things by changing the length. I am keeping my eyes out for appropriate pops of color and accessories.
I have been downsizing my blond and lighter highlights to a richer color for fall. I have gotten several inches cut off my thick hair and have many layers added. (Thank you for the advice Marco Pelusi.)
The most important thing I try to remind myself is that I am worth it. I keep putting others ahead of my needs.
Hey FASHIONISTAS, I am curious, what are the wardrobe essentials for Fall?
Here is to Fall being the best season of all!
Beautifully written! A real source of inspiration. When autumn rolls around, I'm always split in two. There's the me that lovingly picks out sweaters and scarves in the colours of the fading leaves, puts away those sundresses in favour for heavier skirts and wool stockings. The me, who craves lips the colour of fresh blood and apple flushed cheeks, who whirl and twirl through the season laughing and smiling as the world decays. But there's also me, whose lips turn the frosty pink of snow at dawn, cheeks aglow from the chill of the winter wind, eyes piercingly blue under frosted lids, body covered in the colours of the naked winter trees, stretching their dark brown and grey limbs towards the sullen sky. Then there's me, thawing, returning gently to the world of colours covered in soft blossoms. Hues of peach, of pink, lilac, blue and white. Leaves twisting themselves around me, in ever shifting shades of green. Lips warming, a baby pink. Then, the green takes over, the summer flowers deeper colours rub themselves off on me, light summer skies descending and binding themselves in the colours of the fabric surrounding me.And then...there's just me. A canvas unpainted, waiting for inspiration, for the mood to strike. A winter day in the middle of July. A thunderous night in early spring. It depends on the occasion, which season I wear.Though I always gravitate towards the natural, towards earth.
Agree Agree Agree My skin craves fall and winter My pale skin is embarrasing during spring and summer So when Fall comes I can really shine with my Ultra HOT Red Lip Stain and Natural Glow Eyes! This piece is inspiring me to go on a fashion and makeup splurge into fall! Thanks!!! ;)
Beauty=Pain
I am actually looking forward to fall here in FL, which really will be like spring. But I got some new sweaters for those colder days and a nice pair of fashion boots to go with the sweaters. Oh and darker colors for my makeup for fall. Smokey eyes with blues and greens, mauves, plums, reds and browns for my cheeks and some darker lip glosses to round the look off. Oh and to go outside and not sweat to death would be lovely as well! lol
I have this exact same feeling EVERY fall! I think its the start of the school year that really does it...I want to reinvent myself and WOW everyone on my first day back to school. This article was written SOOO beautifully, it makes me want to march out the door right now and go shopping! If only..my main splurge this fall will certainly be a really good pair of boots. A nice pair of boots makes me feel like a million dollars, and dang, they're more comfortable than heels!
Well, my look for the winter usually includes oversize flannel pj pants and the sweatshirts my son has outgrown (He is 6 feet tall, I am 5'4 on a good day tho my driver's license says 5'7, 115. Homeland security at its finest!). Ok, I love purple eye liner with muted purple eye shadow and I cannot wait to wear the new boots I swore I wasn't buying, but did because last year's color went on sale after this year's colors were released. And I LOVED the gray and I don't have gray. So I am thinking, white boyfriend t-shirt tucked into the AG jeans I haven't bought yet, but will, with the gray pleated, high waisted belted sweater I bought at Anthropolgie. I know plaid is huge this year, but I just can't help thinking I look like Paul Bunyon meets family room sofa.
I agree, Im also having a hard time with all the plaid looks this year..it looks sloppy to me. I miss the Fall season of the North but did get some 3/4 length shirts ( they are perfect down here in the Fall )and a couple of pairs of jeans..I guess I must be in a "purple zone" because all I bought when shopping yesterday were deep purples..lovin it!
this was beautifully written! I have been feeling very inspired to "vamp it up" lately just sick of my same old clothes same old hair, same old make up bbboooorrriiinnnnnggg! (thats why i was so excited about lime crimes bright colours) but i do love burgandy for make up-smoky eyes, deep berry lips etc-i have a lipstick just like the one in the picture-i will have pluck up the courage to wear it-because it is gorgeous!my favourite season is fall (autumn) too i love the brown/yellow leaves everywhere, the cool breeze but wuth some sun, my brown boots...............aahhh lovely!
my favorite season is fall. i'm pretty much done dealing with the heat and just ready for the weather to become cooler. i can't wait to wear boots and scarves. i love the idea of wearing muted items like tops and jackets and then accessorizing with bright colors. my makeup is going to be pretty simple during the fall. i'm probably going to have a neutral eye, pink blush, and just a bit of color on my lips. I really want the NARS lipstick that model is wearing. it's a beautiful shade!

Wow that was lyrical your an autumn chick for sure.I too love gold ,bronze and copper's for my eyes ,I also love the cheek stains and only reciently found they look much more like a natural blush if I apply them before foundation-I have the philosophy lip and cheek stain but have been reading that the balm do the best one -so that's one for the list.I dye my hair auburn so those colours tend to go well with that, wish I could wear the darker lip colours but they do nothing for me.Twillight are bringing out a make up range to go with the film-I've seen the pictures and there fabulous-very much the shades your talking about.Once I worked for a bridal designer and one autumn bride had her make a tapestry gown and hooded cloak in crimson and it was the most beautiful thing ever-like something out of a fairytale. If you like true blood you would love the book the Anne rice book the vampire lestat-its amazing.

I love summer becauase there always SOO much cute summer cloths and I always buy alot cause theta when I usually go on vacation.I also love summer because having a deep tan is socially acceptable!! I love my tan... but Ill have to tone it down in the winter or i'll look like a wierdoooo!!But I also love fall... And did someone say PURPLE! I AM IN LOVE WITH PURPLE.at one point in my life I was striving for an all purple wardrobe! Lol ONly joking... but at least half!!I have such trouble dressing for fall though... its not summer, its not winter... WHAT DO I WEAR?!?!?!!LolBut this year opportunities have opened! I've lost 50 lbs and now have a maurices credit card CA CHING!I'll be buying new fall cloths and maurices never falls short on the purple clothes!!Theres usually some cute sinter cloths Snow bunny style and Im looking forward to that this year because we actually get a real winter where I just moved! So we will see what the future hold... But for now.. Im still living up summer!Oh and I am tottally excited for fringe to come back on this fall!!!! Even though we have to wait till like january or february for LOST!!!!! WTF!!!
Tan is Love
I am so excited for fail, mainly because it has been unusually hot and humid this past month, and it really takes a toll on my hair and makeup! I always feel greasy and sweaty and my hair is this really unattractive combination of frizzy and limp. And I certainly won't miss the joy of running around my apartment in the morning, waiting for my primer to set, my antiperspirant to dry, so I can get to the next layer of stuff I need to put on to face the day. No matter how much a/c I use, I live on the 14th floor, and it always seems more hot and humid up here.
I've lived in FL my whole life, so I've never really thought about seasons or changing my clothes/makeup in accordance with them. The past 4 years I've gone to college up north, though, so I've had to learn about it. I'm still adjusting, though, and normally just wear whatever colors I feel like without giving a thought to the season.
I am looking forward to wearing the Fall colors.. I'm loving the dark purples/wine colors for lips and also the eye shades that the NARS collection offers. I wish it would be Fall soon because it is still so so hot where I am and I would love it to be just a tad cooler.

I love that beautiful deep plum colour, but I'm afraid it really doesn't suit my colourings. I'm sure you're going to be an absolute knock-out this coming Fall Goddess Granny! I can't wait to see some photos once you're mid-transformation. :]As the seasons are a little different here in Australia, we're just approaching Spring. Mind you, the weather has not been very 'Winter' like here in tropical Brisbane! The last few months have been clear blue skies with a top of 23 - 25 degrees every single day. T-shirt weather in Winter, whoo-hoo!I will be looking at having a big chop when the weather starts to get warmer. I've wanted a lovely sleek bob for a few years now and I think I'm almost ready to take the plunge! Once my fringe finishes growing out my stylist and I will start the process of turning me into a French starlet look-a-like. Wish me luck! ;]
Fall has always been my favorite season too. Most people LOVE summer. Don't get me wrong, I love the sun and the heat. I love going to the beach...but after, oh, two weeks or so I'm over it. Reality starts to set in. It's ghastly hot and humid. My hair is hugely frizzy and my makeup melts off after being outside for more than 10 minutes :PI just love fall. The temperature. The colors. Everything. Like you, I'm totally excited for fall make up colors. Golds, bronze, purple, burgundy, definitely my favorites.
I love autumn mainly for the fashions. The colors are usually in the oranges, reds, and browns along with chic plaid styles -- especially if you look at fall fashions in Britain. LOVE them
Autumn is my favorite season, the colors of the trees...oranges, reds, yellows, the warm days and clear blues skys, cool nights and looking at the stars...yea, autumn is my most favorite time of year. I too feel a re-birth. The hot & humid days, the AC runs almost non stop, getting out of the car and I begin to sweat almost immediatly...am I rambling? In a nutshell...I Love Autumn!!
My "new look" for fall...-I'll look more fit! I hope to be able to run farther (I have a half marathon planned for October and I can't run the whole distance yet).-Have a more grown up sense of style (like tiffynay).-Have some over the knee leather/suede boots (like you, GG, I am a boot fanatic!) I already have a few pairs of suede/leader boots that come up to my calf, and they are my fall/winter staples. :)-Have fewer things I don't wear/don't look good in my wardrobe.-Have a better idea of what makeup works for me! :P And how to apply it well! Hopefully I'm getting closer to finding my holy grail products, and also getting better at applying my makeup. -I'm also thinking of trying out bolder lip colors (I'm more of a light gloss girl, but love the look of really pigmented lips), and am trying to get out of my neutral eyeshadow comfort zone--maybe some nice sage greens and mauvey purples for fall?
♥ Lipgloss and Spandex: a blog for gals who look good and run fast
I'm planning to do a closet purge, probably tomorrow. I need room for all those beautiful purple clothes that are in the shops now!
I absolutely cannot wait for fall! I've been planning my makeup for it already lol. I can't wait for plummy and burgandy looks! Also skinny jeans and cute boots! I'm ready for summer to be over. Fall also means no more super oily skin for me :)
i really love this girl's makeup. i'm jealous. now i'll look for a purply shade of lipstick :) i love fall!!!
I adore fall because it is like a new beginning. I love to 'reinvent' my looks and can't wait to break out my lovely peacoats and boots! And of course new makeup looks also! I can't wait to use my darker hues. Fall just makes me feel all around sexier, how about you?
My favorit season is so far SUMMER i even love the name and want to call my daughter like this lol...for me summer= gold= glitter=warm=brown=bronze...everting I loveEven my clothes are better in Summer, I love to show my shoulders I love to wear flip flop I love the fact I don't need a coat or a jacket wich will HIDE my outfit under lol I am French and in France winter is COLD you don't wear just a coat you wear a GIANT stuff ewww I hate that can't wait to move to cali just thinking about those ugly coat waitinng for me in my closet looland summer = beach and I am so addicted to sea/ocean/lake/water I think I am a marmaid with legs lolVive l'été....

I must say, purple looks greatttt on a lot of people, especially if they have porcelain skin.Although when I wear purple it looks off, my boyfriend told me i should never wear purple, it make me look like i'm either sick or got punched in the eye. I guess I'll just stick with neutrals and speculate other lovelies with purple shadows :)
My new Ebay Store: cossiepieMy blog: http://lazyscorner.blogspot.com/
Anybody can wear purple - you just have to find the right shade. Since your boyfriend says you look like you've been punched in the eye, I'd say you had the wrong shade! :) Have you considered using a deep, dark purple liner? Urban Decay Ink for Eyes in Empire is a gorgeous eggplant color that I bet would look pretty on you. Seriously, go to urbandecay.com and look at the bottom of the website. Find the link that says Steal Our Looks and then at the top of the new page there's a look that says Empire. Click on it and you'll see a picture of a model wearing it and you can get an idea of what the color looks like. I don't know if this link will post or not, but here's a direct link to the look: http://www.urbandecay.com/stealOurLooks/index.cfm?ID=98Don't be afraid of purple!
Funny you should ask! I am actually considering a bit of a new look for fall. I'm kinda bored with my hair (dark blonde) and thinking about changing it up to a lighter blonde or maybe even red...Either of which might necessitate a new clothing and/or makeup wardrobe :)
Fall I think is the best transition season. It's such a big change style wise from summer. After watching Mad Men for the first time last night, I am so leaning towards a more refined and classic style. I'm also a jeans and tees kind of gal, and I feel like I need to stop reverting to the juniors department every time I walk into a store.
i've been thinking the same Fabulously Thrifty. I know I shouldn't shop in the juniors department anymore but it's hard. I am pretty petite so women's sizes don't fit me as well and the juniors department pretty much have the styles that I like to wear.

I cant wait for fall :) My favorite season ever!! Here in Texas it is still 654,458 degrees so I am sooo ready for fall!! Time to darken my hair up and buy that NARS fall line!!
My favorite season is definitely SUMMER. Summer just makes me feel so alive inside. I know a lot of people hate the summer. I have lived in Texas my whole life. It gets super hot, but I love it. I love being outside feeling the warm rays on my skin. It energizes me, inspires me, makes me feel great, and leaves me gloriously tan! It inspires me to try new colors of makeup and clothes. There are some colors I have in my closet and makeup wardrobes that look hideous on me when I'm white, but man do they look great on me when I'm tan! I believe that I look a million times better when I'm tan. I always have a smile on my face during the summer. Regardless of anything that happens during the summer I'm always happy, because of the sunshine. I know being tan makes me look better, and therefore I feel better. Some people start to look better when they start feeling better. But sometimes you have to force yourself to start looking better, and then you will start feeling better. Summer for me exudes joy and happiness. I love the fruity fragrances, the bbqs, the pool parties, the cute clothes, the bright colors everywhere, the smell of tanning oil, and the way that a golden hue seems to magically erase all my imperfections. When I'm tan it hides my acne scarring, makes my teeth look whiter, makes my blue eyes look bluer and my blonde hair look blonder, it makes me look thinner, and it makes me look better with minimal to no makeup. I actually think I look better without makeup then with makeup when I'm tan. I definitely do crave the changes in fashion. I especially love all the new trends. Even if I'm broke I will go window shopping, just to see all the new stuff. I also will do whatever I think looks good on me, regardless of the season. I don't follow all the trends. I like to make up my own trends. I always tend to wear random makeup regardless of the season. I don't have one specific eye look or looks for a season. I will get a whim and put on crazy makeup. I could be wearing a very neutral look one day, and a crazy tropical sunset inspired look the next. But of course my tan only lasts so long. My tan will last on average about 3 months, after the last day of tanning. That is with me naturally tanning and getting super dark. So by late fall/early winter I'm usually back to old Mrs. Pasty colored. I do realize that certain colors and makeup look better on me when I'm white. Lighter colored eyeshadows look a lot better on me when I'm white. Lighter colored blush and lipstick look a lot better on me too. Some of my makeup I can wear year round. I will look good wearing it if I'm frosty the snowman white or surfer girl tan. But some products I have specifically for white time or tan time. Red lipstick is something that looks great on me when I'm very pale and when I'm very tan. Pale pink blush works best when I'm white, and that is really the only time it shows up. I really like the idea of trying a plum lip for fall though. I have secretly wanted to try that for years, but never been able to muster the courage to try it. That UD lipstick in Vinyl would probably work perfect for this:D
Great post. I just love fall! It always gives me a feeling of change and transition since I was young. Also, I love the cool days in New England, the changing of the leaves and breaking out the chunky knit sweaters and suede boots. As for colors, I love browns, golds, greens and plums. The NARS collection looks amazing. I love the rich, deep colors. I wish I could pull off the super-dark colors (like the dark mulberry lipstick) on my pale complexion. I need more muted and toned-down colors like the Icy Pink/Rose Gold duo. As fairyrave mentioned, I will be using my UD lipstick in Vinyl -- it is the perfect plum.
Fall is my favorite season clothes-wise! I love wearing lots of layers, big, comfy sweaters and leggings/tights in fun patterns. And I absolutely adore purple clothes (even though it's not my favorite color... weird...), so I love that it's everywhere this fall! The only thing I don't like about fall is that stores don't carry as many vividly colored clothes anymore, I'm addicted to color!
i love summer days and enjoy wearing fun outfits and little makeup... Fall is not my favorite season, since i have to put on warmer clothes. But that is when i also experiment with my makeup and have fun with colors like purple, dark red and grey... I love the NArs collection and how dramatic are the colors. And your review is great! :)
Spring (only on the warm days) is one of my favourites, but my most FAVOURITE season is summer. Minus the humid nasty smoggy days, summer sun feels so good. Autumn is cool too, but it gets chilly.I pretty much like every season besides winter. I hate snow, cold, I hate it.
I love spring! I always feel its the time I can best pull off the bright green/yellow shadows best. Its warm, but not too warm here (Seattle) and ignoring the makeup element, it has to be my favorite season!
OH man.. reading this i WISH i was good with make up... When ever i try i just look like a mess... Mayb ill take my next couple days off to stay home and Make-up my ass off and see what i can come up with!!! <3
I can never decide if I love spring of fall best...it's always changing :)I've actually never really taken much thought into the seasons as far as makeup goes..my usual rule of them has been "if I like it, I'll wear it", but now that I'm actually trying different shades and learning what's best for my coloring, I'm pretty excited to play it up for th different seasons. I used to always pretty much wear pastel eye colors and just nude/glossy lip colors, so it'll be fun.
