APOLIVA COSMETICS IS FREAKING SWEDEN OUT!

I read the article about this, and I don't see what the scary-ness is all about?  She looks a bit wan and emaciated, sure, but so does everyone else in my monthly Vogue, so I'm not sure what the big deal is.And I've seen Angelina Jolie in real life too, and she is all elbows and feet, it's kind of weird.

I absolutely agree with gigglebunny that this girl reminds me also of the girl from The Ring - it's perhaps how the girl would have looked if she hadn't died in the well and was allowed to grow up!  I would have guessed this was going to be an advertisement for some fabulous line of hair products actually with all the play on her hair!   She's not exactly scary just interesting.  I guess it is somewhat haunting - the song - compelling enough to keep going back and watching again. I'm going to go put on a black dress, walk towards my desk fan that is currently blowing on high while singing the haunting theme song from the movie "Rosemary's Baby" and I think I will have captured the mood of this video!

Yes its the eyes !!!!!They look like scary eyes devil girl eyes hehehe I'm not scared of her by the way just don't think she looks beautiful maybe she should be in supernatural instead of a beauty ad LOL !!!

When i first signed in today i saw this and the picture had a big X on it.. so i refreshed a couple times.. and then tried to google it.. then i Binged it.. and no matter what search engine i put it in it all comes out an X... SPOOOOOKY!! hahaha.. eventually ill get to see this picture! HOPEFULLY!! <3

I can definitely see the girl from the Ring and a creepiness about here, although you can tell she is beautiful too, in a different kind of way... a beautiful creep? lol.  I also wouldn't have guessed it was for a makeup ad!

i think she looks nice actually, a lot is to do with the lighting etc and the spooky song. Angelina Jolie- now i cant seem to keep my eyes off her when i look at gossip sites like omg yahoo. (I now sad addictions coming out) She is so unusually beautiful, stunning.. but with a hint of i wouldn't like to be your friend either looks, or maybe it is just because of her weird ways i say that.

I honestly dont think she's beautiful or "vogue" Just freaky. Her facial structure just doesnt look right....

I don't think she's that creepy or scary looking. She looks thin and maybe her head is a little too big for her face but she looks normal in comparison to models and a majority of female celebrities. I never would have guessed this was a commerical for makeup. If I had to guess it would be a hair styling product for smooth straight hair. Angelina Jolie is stunning when I see her face in pictures and in movies but when I see her body I think she's too skinny. I think Scarlett Johansson has a nicely proportionate body - not too skinny and not too big but displaying ample enough curves.

That was so creepy, it would definitely scare me if it popped up on my TV!! But I don't either understand what its got to do with the makeup-line though... At the end it says it's for swedish weather or whatever, so is it supposed to show that her makeup (the little she's wearing) still stays put, even after the wind and whatnot??

I don't think she's scary, but I don't really see her as gorgeous either. She's a little too skinny, if anything, but I can see where she's "fashionable", she has amazing bone structure in her face. I really don't get the ad. The singing, the rain, all of it. Who knows. It doesn't make me want to buy whatever they're selling, that's for sure.

I think she is just scrawny and is wearing that dark eye makeup that the runway models did this year.  It can really make you look "weird".  I looked up her modelling photo's and there you can see how truly skin and bones she is.  Some of the pictures of her not all made up are quite pretty, but think and emanicipated she is.

We're all talking about it, so the ad did it's job, right? If the model were a typical gorgeous model like you see in the Victoria's Secret catalogue, no one would remark on it, because it's what we expect. When you get the unexpected, you notice it.

I'm also more confused about what this ad actually has to do with cosmetics than freaked out.  Shrug.  She's definitely not a typical spokesmodel for a cosmetics line, and maybe that's a good thing.

That's a rather random ad campaign for a cosmetics company... I don't understand what the company was thinking.  I can tell you one thing though, it does not make me want to go out and buy any of their stuff.  When I'm looking for new cosmetics, I want the models to be pretty. 

Okay so I don't really think the ad is scary, more like haunting. The voice and her eyes in particular. Not really sure how it relates to make up at all but I guess they are going for natural feel and wanting to show that their make up is like the Swedish nature in some way. I'm undecided if I think it is beautiful or just haunting, perhaps a mix of both. And at least they have managed to get people's attention and must be pretty proud of that.

She does have the devil possessed look going on. If this was advertising makeup, she looks god awful so why would i want to buy this to look worse that i already do without make up. At the end when the lighting changes, she looked pretty but give me a l'oreal ad anyday.

wow.. that didn't work for me. i think i'll have nightmares tonight... i really shouldn't have watched this before bed... I guess most cosmetic advertisements have been really bubbly and enthusiastic.. maybe they're looking for something refreshing, edgy and... creepy??

I'm soo glad that I'm not the only person whose first reaction was the think of the Ring.  That doesn't mean that I think this ad is scary.  Quite to the contrary, I thought the Ring was the worst movie ever, and when she came out of the well I just couldn't stop laughing, my friends who were scared thought I was making fun of them, but I just couldn't stop laughing to save my life.  Its also funny that you mention Angeline Jolie because my brother's boss is her agent/manager/publicist.  He's never met her though just been to her house to make deliveries and talked to her on the phone.  He probably will meet her soon enough though.

I don't think it is that scary.  She does appear a little ghostly.  But she is very thin and pale, so of course she is going to look ghostly.  Honestly I would give everything to be thin and pale, but not too extreme.  She is very beautiful.  What I really love about this ad is the song she is singing.  I can't understand a word of it, but it is beautiful!

I am not sure if I would call this model scary -- she has a very clean, "non-makeup" look.   The lighting and the effects are quite dramatic, most like to draw attention to the brand name. I would never think of beauty products when viewing this ad.   But, after viewing it, I will remember "APOLIVA," which was probably the intent of the marketers for this product.

I think what makes her freaky looking is the no-eyebrow thing-apparently a big catwalk trend right now-that's one trend I wont be following-also anything shot in grainy black and white also looks creepy in general.When you were telling your canyon story-I was wondering who and then you said angelina and she sometimes can look a little creepy-though not as much as around the time she got the oscar with the weird make-up and all.there used to be the funniest thing ever on the bbc called headcases sort of shrek like animation taking the complete piss out of angelina,madonna etc-the thing was it was hilarious its on you tube -take a look you will lyao.

I really don't think she's -that- scary looking. She's eerily beautiful in my opinion. She doesn't look much more emaciated than most models, and I think it's jsut the ad casting her in a bad light because of the mood of the ad.And I definitely agree that she isn't really wearing enough makeup for this to be a makeup commercial o.O

Hmmm. I don't see it. She almost looked like a skeleton when it started raining but it wasn't quite there.I was expecting her to like freak out and become a monster or something!!!I don't quite get the ad, but it might be because I don't speak swedish.

I agree with a lot of the ladies there, she looks like a lot of the models in Vogue and on the Runways today.  Honestly though, who looks like these models?  I love fashion, but the use of these tiny, skiny and "unique" looking models make fashion seem so unattainable for us normal folk.  I guess that's the image a lot of designers want to put out.

I don't see what is so scary about this.  It does have an over all sort of.. eerie quality, but other than that.. I really don't get what the big deal is.I'm sure she doesn't look her best but I don't think she looks bad either, you know?  I just don't get it, I guess!
