URBAN DECAY EYELASH PRIMER POTION!

Meg here! I know I am going to sound like a broken record over here. I have another "I can't live without it item!"
A year ago I had never heard of this and now I don't know how I ever left for an evening without it! Yes, meet my new evening staple..Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion! No shocker it's from the eye experts at Urban Decay. Since they practically invented the eye-makeup primer it only makes sense they would extend that brilliance to prime our lashes.
It makes such a difference that I actually get so many compliments on my eyelashes. All of my friends want to know what I m doing differently.
It's not like it's a tough extra step either. Two seconds for a Huge difference!? Sign me up!
Once you pull the mascara wand out of it's purple case you'll notice the brush is covered in a snow white magic formula. It creates the illusion of eyelash greatness! Talk about an "optic illusion" Here's what UD say's...
"Wave this magic wand before your favorite mascara for lashes that appear thicker, longer and stronger… right before your very eyes. Tiny fibers band together, cling to every lash, and construct towers of Babel… reaching for heavenly lashes. Just apply Eyelash Primer Potion, then apply your favorite mascara as usual. Your lashes will look fake, but the magic is real. Our protein-rich and paraben-free formula conditions, fortifies, and thickens lashes with Silk Protein, Panthenol, and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein".
I was lucky enough to be out a few nights ago with Urban Decay's very own Badgirl -she gave me a fantastic tip! If you really are feeling up for some fun and want to add some Wow! Pizazz and Umph-break this baby out the next time you want to have some fun with your colored mascara's. How gorgeous does this work with a deep purple or a fun aqua? It works brilliantly-all of the white fibers (which turn to black perfectly once coated with black mascara) really pick up the colors when you feel a little more frisky then just black. It brings a whole new dynamic to your more dramatic colors!
All of this AND it being from the UD Primer Society-you know it makes your mascara have ridiculous staying power. Raccoon eyes never again!
I found this to be a "must buy" what do you ladies think?

This sounds lovely i just got my fave mascara in violet ( i usually just go for black) but it doesnt have the oomph i expected-i wonder if this would help?!in my experience with these sort of eyelash primers (l'oreal double extension) the white dries and seems to make the black (or other coloured topcoat) look clumpy and dry (if you know what i mean) so you get sort of flakey bits that come off and looks like you have used a dried up mascara-did you not find this to be a problem with this?!
I received this little gem courtesy of our lovely Meg. And it is amazing! UD does it again. First of all the purple tube is gorgeous. But even more important is the magic potion that is inside. Wow! I have used other primers before. And they do not perform nearly as well. This adds length and strength all while making your lashes soft and supple. This little tube is more than good looking it has substance! It certainly helps your mascara to stay. Meg is right-no more raccoon eyes. And I always get raccoon eyes! And I can't wait to try this with a colored mascara. What a great tip. I am in love. I can't stress enough what a must buy this. It way out performs any other lash primer I have ever used!!btw-This is not flaky at all. I know that lots of primers are. Not so here. Quality all the way.
Absolutely!! I received the eyelash primer from Meg this week, and I love it. I've been using it under my Diorshow - and couldn't believe my lashes could look even BETTAH! Today, I'll try it with my big fatty in indigo. I can't wait to see how that will look. UD continues to amaze me with all their potions. I can no longer live without the eyeshadow primer - and now this! I've also got the lip primer but haven't grown to love that yet. It's a little thick for me. But their face primer - OMG! It is very nice. I still have my lifetime supply of the monistat gel - but I've been using the UD primer since receiving it. Feels good and looks great. (But you still can't beat the price of the monistat). If Urban Decay every want a nice little ol' woman to try out all their magic on, I've got dibs on the job!

I am going to have to try this! I tried a primer from Revlon Lash Fairy and hated it. It was thick and gooey and make my eyelashes white. But this sounds promising and I have a nice navy mascara I have been wanting to try. Urban Decay must like my money, because I am constantly sending them some. :)
Yup Yup Yup this stuff is the perfect thing for a night out on the town when you don't want to put on fake lashes! It is super easy for buildable long lash looks and my secret smokey eye weapon. I can always count on mascara to make me look done up even if thats the only thing I wear..and you know the saying the longer the better!
;) Gloss & Gum <3
Urban Decay does it AGAIN! I received this from our beloved Meg and I am completely in love with this little bottle of magic. This is a major "performance enhancer" for my mascara (current faves: BE Buxom Lash and Imju Fiberwig). It gives my lashes some much needed OOMPH (major volume and length). Now, I can't live without this stuff! I was noticing the other day that my usual eye makeup is almost all from Urban Decay (eyeshadows, 24/7 liners, UDPP, and now eyelash primer potion). Yes, I am a proud UD junkie!
oh I definitely have to try this!! I spent a fortune on today's ULTA sale already but well...we'd rather go without food than a must-have must-try beauty product, right? LOL, plus it's good for your shape (not so for the shape of your wallet, but well..). Seriously, you got me into the UPDD eyeshadow primer, which I LOVE now (now that you ladies were so kind to teach me how to use it correctly *blushes*), I will try their eyeshadows next and then...yep, the eyelash primer potion! Indulge is the word of the day;-). Live it up, girls!!

Meg, you said a mouthful! I had been using my beloved Divaderme Lash Extender (cousin to my beloved Brow Extender), which is an apres-mascara treatment I love, but now that I've met Ms. UD EyeLash Primer Potion it is my new go-to for daytime. At night, when I want to out-glam Angelina Jolie, I use both, the UD before and the Divaderme after. Glam On!
My first experience with lash primer was an unfortunate one. I got one of those double ended L'Oreal mascaras and one tip was the primer....Well, no matter how hard i tried -i ended up with white bits showing through my regular mascara coats... After that experience I was always hesistant to try a primer... I am wondering if UD primer dries clear or white?
I feel sooo behind the times!! Ive never heard of an eye lash primer!! But this sounds really cool!! i need all the help i can get... I dont have the confidence to put mascara on the bottom lashes.. (( to many wond in the eye moments )) so the easier it is the better for me!! I will have to check out this company.. everybody seems to looooove them!!! Thanks again meg!!! <3 <3 <3
Well if it works anything like their eye shadow primer potion, it's fabulous stuff. They are selling something like it here - 'Divaderme' - but I have no idea if it works or not. It's also supposed to give you that 'fake eyelash effect'. Anyone know anything about it? I somehow suspect it doesn't compare to UD. This is a product that is an answer to my prayers - I have tried and tried with falsies - really I have. I get glue everywhere - last time I actually managed to pull some of my sparse little lashes out along with the false ones. I cancelled my plans, and vowed never ever to mess with false lashes again. But if they are in a tube - why even I can apply mascara....

I'm so excited to hear about all the fabulous new UD products! Without a doubt, UD is one of my favorite lines. Not only is the packaging of their products out of this world, but so is the quality of their product. I've only tried one eyelash primer before, and that is the Smashbox primer. It wasn't bad, dispite the Elmers Glue texture and consistancy, it kept my eyes from looking like a raccoon. The only reason I didn't repurchase was that I found Too Faced Lash Injection which didn't make me look like a raccoon, at least not in the begining of my love affair with it... If I remember correctly, the Smashbox primer did not dry clear, but don't quote me on that because it's been years since I tried it. I now use Korres mascara, and if need be, I will certainly pick up a tube of what sounds like another killer UD product.
i'm beginning to think i need this product so bad. I've been using lash stiletto and its been making my lashes feel underwhelmed. I curl my lashes and apply mascara and for a whole 10 seconds, i have amazing lashes. Clearly defined, long and false looking. Then i blink and the lashes look limp and all curl has gone. I want to have false lash effect lashes and i wonder if using this in conjunction with a certain mascara will make an amazing lashes. All i need to find is that mascara and hope that they sell this product in the uk and i will be set.
Wow this looks great I hope I get this in my beauty package , I've never tried a eyelash primer before but would love to try this as I'd like my lashes to look longer without having to wear false ones !!!Plus no paraben's how fab is that !! :-)
I recently got this for a friend who has been going through a rough time personally. She has lost her husband to cancer and is at an all time low. She feels like she has really let herself go. She used to love makeup but, since caring for her spouse it has not been on her radar,I put together a big basket of some goodies that are going to be HOT and some that are considered classic. This product does everything that has been said above. I am not going to repeat this. However, my friend could not believe the difference in her appearance and said this gave her some VAAA VAAA VOOM! It gave her pep in her step and a twinkle in her eye.Thank you Urban Decay!
This sounds just the ticket for amping up the volume on my wispy lashes.I used a bourjois one before but it made my lashes look straight and feel brittle and stiff(not exactly the look I was going for)so I love the fact that this conditions your lashes and you can get all the flutter without abusing your poor lashes.Great tip from bad girl about the coloured mascara-I'll definately be trying that.Where else would you hear these nuggets of wisdom only on megs makeup.Audrey Hepburn lashes here I come.

ooh i wish this site could let us post pictures so that the lucky people who have been sent this product could show some before and after pictures. It takes a while for these new products to make their way over here, but i will be keeping an eye out for this.
I never, ever wear mascara because I just can't get the look I want. Mostly, it just looks clumsy, or I get the spider leg effect. This sounds like just the thing I've been looking for, something that add length and volume but does not clump and misbehave. I must see if I can get hold of this, definitely. And a good lash tint in black and dark brown to go with it. :D
That's a good idea Sangus I'd love to see some before and after photos too !!! :-) I can't believe you haven't tried this already with all that Urban Decay stuff you brought for your birthday !! :-)
we don't have it here, this thread was the first i'd really heard of it. I'm tempted to ask tracey to order it for me. I'd love to see pics or a more in depth review as $20 is a lot to drop on a lash primer.
If you want me to, just let me know! :)I've been eyeing this, it looks really great. The only mascara primer I've tried is by Revlon, the Lash Fantasy which is a mascara on one end and primer on the other. At first it worked amazingly but I didn't want as much length as it gave so I stopped using it. When I tried it again recently it looked really bad, but it's probably just because it's old and needs to be thrown out. I honestly can't see an UD primer NOT working outstandingly well, to be honest. If it does for my lashes what the UDPP does for my lids then it's well worth the money. I just wish there was a sanitary way of trying it out at Sephora first!EDIT: Oh, and I love the idea of it making colors more vibrant.. sometimes I like to be wacky and just use loose mineral e/s with clear mascara to make my own sparkly purple or teal mascara (or shimmery white for winter, that was fun!). The colors dull a bit though, so I bet this would make them pop like mad!
sharon and sonia- i looked on the website and it was on the front page.............then i clicked on the "uk customers" bit and it wasnt there :( sob!we have urban decay in boots but i wonder how long we will have to wait for it to be out over here?! i dont really want to pay $20 plus shipping, then have to wait.........maybe we will get it in our beauty packs?! fingers crossed!!! xx
Not vegan unfortunately :( I would have probably tried it out if it was.
it is Vegan it says it on the website
http://vrodriguez.mymarkstore.com/
I don't understand. It is listed under "Vegan Items" on website yet in the description it says it contains silk. "Our protein-rich and paraben-free formula conditions, fortifies, and thickens lashes with Silk Protein, Panthenol, and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein."But in the ingredients I don't see silk listed unless it is listed by a chemical name. Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Oryza Sativa Cera (Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax),Sucrose Stearate,Synthetic Beeswax,C18-36 Acid Triglyceride,Pentylene Glycol,Cetearyl Alcohol,Polybutene,Nylon-66,Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25Methacrylate, Crosspolymer,Panthenol,Hydrated Silica,Phenoxyethanol,Caprylyl Glycol May Contain: CI77891 (Titanium Dioxide).I don't use silk products. I understand you are trying to help and I am not mad at you :) I don't understand why they are saying it is vegan though. I UDPP is also listed as vegan on the site yet in the store on the boxes I have read "beeswax" (not synthetic) I don't get it! I am not going to buy either unless I get it cleared up. Thanks for your help.
It doesn't hurt to email them and ask! :) I believe that they're a big enough company who puts enough focus on being cruelty free and having vegan products to know what vegan means. Some companies don't seem to realize that things like silk or beeswax are not vegan, but I don't think UD is one of those companies. I do know that the UDPP underwent a change in ingredients, from regular to synthetic beeswax, so that IS in fact vegan. I'm venturing a guess that the 'silk protein' is in synthetic form, and that's what one of those ingredients is. I'm sending them an email right now, I'll let you know what their response is! :)
I haven't had the best luck with primers. They typically make my lashes way clumpier. I think I've only ever tried two of them and they were from L'Oreal and Maybelline. That was also a couple of years ago and I'm sure these things have been reformulated since then.I'm loving the idea of using this under a blue or purple mascara. I'm sure that would look fab and pop more!
Oh poo we miss out on so much here in the UK :-( Thanks for letting me know Sonia and Carly xx
philogene, Maybelline has something like this. A friend of mine from England showed it to me last week and I have to say that her lashes looked great! It has a white side and a back side. She said it costs 5 pounds.
Oh Veronicalin thanks for telling me I'll have a look at this one <3 xx
Oh holy crap I NEED that!!!I've never used colored mascaras before but I'd certainly give them a try with something like that backing them up! I am a freak for purple eye makeup so I bet that would help me rock some plum-colored mascara.
Ooo! I wasn't sure if I was going to try this, but after reading this review I definitely need it!! All the other lash primers I've tried (like the ones from L'oreal) have pretty much sucked and left me with weird white flakes, so hopefully this will be way better!! Urban Decay is so bad for my wallet, but you can't help but loving it!!
Just this morning, I saw something called Ready to Wear Lash Extension at HSN, and thought "wow, that sounds great", and now I read this post...must be a sign that my eyelashes need extra help! :)

urban decay is such a reliable company for eye makeup. i don't know what i would do without their eyeshadow primer, and now an eyelash primer! i admit that i hate the extra step of adding an eyelash primer, but it can do wonders especially for my straight eyelashes. i haven't tried urban decay's yet, but i'm sure it's great!

I've always been somewhat hesitant as I'm worried they'll make my lashes look clumpy and gross, but I've heard very good things about this one so far, I'm definitely interested! I guess UD knows what it's doing when it comes to the primer business!
I love this eyelash primer. It really is a can't live without. Although I have been... living without for a while :(:(:( Whenever I use this I get tons of compliments on my lashes. Theyre pretty full as it is so this primer makes them look lush and HUGE!!Thanks for reminding me.. Probably gonna have to order off the website.Since the nearest sephora once i move this week will be.... Ooooh 3 or 4 hours away!

I'll admit it...I had never even heard of eye lash primer until your review. (I actually thought I was reading the title wrong at first). At $20 this seems a bit expensive, but I did drop down $17 for that eye primer and, if it's as good as that, I have to have it. I may have to hide this purchase from my hubby though...lol

I'm so excited to try this, I had no idea that Urban Decay had an eyelash primer or I would have purchased it a long time ago! No matter what I do, my mascara always runs by the end of the day and I end up looking ridiculous. A few months back, I tried an eyelash primer by Revlon? I think it was, and I absolutely hated it. Honestly, it just made the matter worse because my lashes were clumpy and the mascara was still running. I have actually just started using Cover Girl Eyelights mascara (waterproof version) and although it does stay put all day, it is SO hard to get off! I would love to find a great primer that allows me to use a non-waterproof mascara, so hopefully this is it!
I do love my mascara, but this sounds very interesting... I wonder how it is in combination with very sensitive eyes? Does anyone know?
I am loving this! I use UD primer potion in original or sin everyday. I am confident that the primer potion for lashes will not disappoint since it is from UD. I have used drugstore lash primers before. They were all okay. Some just made my lashes look all spidery and stick together. I am so glad UD came out with this. I am sure Sephora has a demo to try...I will try it next time I am in there and see if I like it. I hope it does make a difference!
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

Woah I just saw that Sephora has a "Box of Potions" by UD, it comes with
- 1 oz Complexion Primer Potion - Brightening- 1 oz Complexion Primer Potion - Pore Perfecting- 0.34 oz Eyeshadow Primer Potion- 0.3 oz Eyelash Primer Potion- 0.07 oz Lip Primer Potion SPF 15for $65. Interesting!! Not sure I would need both face ones, but it's still a good deal compared to getting them all individually. Also, I don't think Sephora has UD's fall stuff, which this is part of, individually in stores yet or even online, so I wouldn't go there just to try this. I know some people have gone in search of the Inks and been disappointed.
You saw this "box of Potions" just recently? or is it online at sephora?I found it online. Thanks for the info.
~belle~
okay, someone needs to explain this to me because I think I'm doing it wrong. So I use this primer and I think maybe I'm putting too much on....like I apply it like I would apply mascara...are you all just doing one simple stroke? I put it on and then put mascara on over it and you could still see the white...so does it sound like I'm just using too much? It also kind of made it clump...:( I'm def. willing to give it another go though!
Are you letting it dry before you apply the mascara? That might be a factor, but I'm nut sure whether you're supposed to or not lol. Maybe someone with more experience knows?
wow I love urban decay products...I would love to try this!
I will definitely pick this up!I love to wear colored mascara. I recently bought cover girl bright lights and it was supposed to enhance green eyes, I like the mascara but I don't think it enhances the color of my eyes.Has anyone tried benefit plum mascara? I'm hoping that the UD primer and the plum mascara will be a match made in Ulta heaven
Wow, I need this! I am unfortunately horrible at applying mascara and had given up on ever having non-clumptastic lashes (even though I try to buy the highest rated mascaras I am a nub at applying!!!)Thanks very much, and I will test this out on my Sephora run today! I used to own one made by Maybelline and thought it was the coolest thing ever until they stopped making it...here's hoping the UD one will work for me!
Hmm this hasn't really caught my attention because my mascara looks fine and I never get raccoon eyes from it so I dont think I need a primer. I dont think I'll try it because I mean why fix it if its not broken right? Plus it will save me money in this economy lol. Its great that you liked it though.
i'd seen it in store and never been sure if i should try but now i think i'll pick it up
Oh Meg, you've sold me again! I'm going to have to run out and try this little baby. I hope I can find a stockist in Aus - or at least have it shipped over from the US! I adore the look of fake eyelashes but rarely have the time or inclination for yet *another* step in my make-up routine. Look like this will be a great replacement! : ]
