KUMAARA RADIANT FINISH CONCEALER!

Meg here! Agrimony to the rescue! I didn't have a post for this morning (I fouled up what day we were on) then I started to panic!! Yay Agrimony had sent me a really great review of the Kumaara Concealer a few days back (she loved it that much) so the day is saved! Without further ado..
Agrimony here! Concealer is one of those cosmetics you really can’t live without. Well, most of us have something to conceal at any rate. And, yet it seems hard to get too excited about it. Years ago, concealer came in three shades, light, medium and dark. You either fit one of those, or you were out of luck. And you looked weird. It was an amazing amount of work to blend it, cover concealer with foundation and powder.
Then a few years back concealer seemed to become all the rage, taking the spotlight as a major cosmetic, no longer happy to be remain in the background. Everyone, and, by everyone, I mean beauty magazines, cosmetic sales people, make up artists, etc., recommended that one find a concealer that matched one’s skin, and apply where needed over moisturizer or tinted moisturizer. Less is more and all that.
I was skeptical. From a young age, I believed a nice coat of base was necessary. My base of course changed through the years, but, one day I decided to give the tinted moisturizer, dab of concealer a go. And I liked it. I think the first tinted moisturizer I ever tried was by Shisedo. Maybe. I can’t recall, it has been a while. Anyway, the concealer was Estee Lauder’s. It came in a navy blue (squeeze) tube. I used the light, and it seemed close enough.
Close enough seemed as good as I could hope for. I moved on and tried various ones, mostly using Benefit’s Boiing. Strangely enough, I used the medium in this. My skin is pretty pale, and I wouldn’t have bought medium, except for it coming in one of their kits – The Realness of Concealment – which is nice and still sold BTW. And it seemed to match, well enough, although I had to work it. Yes, applying concealer was a pain, and took time, but, I did it and became pretty good at concealing. Generally, tinted moisturizer, concealer and a dusting of mineral veil type powder is my daily face. And I liked it.
What am I concealing you might ask? Some broken capillaries for the most part. Occasionally a bit of darkness under my eyes. I exaggerated like hell on my profile. My capillaries and dark circles are monumental in my magnifying mirror. (Mr. Agrimony is constantly threatening to get rid of it!!). My wrinkles are probably fine lines cause I take such great care of my skin. But these ares do need a bit of concealment.
But our Beloved Meg sent me some products by Kumaara. I have loved all of them more than I thought I would. The Luminescent Primer is astounding. But, maybe the product I love the most is the Kumaara Radiant Finish Concealer in Light/Medium.
It is amazing how great this concealer is!! The color is absolutely a perfect match for my skin. It comes in a pretty compact with a darling tiny mirror and in the box with it is a really great brush. It is a fantastic concealer brush. Dabbing it on, it melts into my skin and the bit of redness is GONE. Maybe two strokes on my worst capillary, but, DAMN. It is hard to tell where the concealer leaves off and my skin begins! No working it at all. It is pretty much an instant concealing process. Kumaara should call it INSTANT MAGIC CONCEALOR because that pretty much sums it up.
Kumaara is a great company. So far, I have used three of their products and they do what they say they will do. I like that in beauty products and am pretty sure we all do. I want things to deliver on their promises. With modern technology, more and more things do, but, you know it still isn’t all that often you find things that are instantly perfect.
I like the philosophy of Kumaara. "Kumaara-This single Sanskrit word for "youth" conveys the essential truth behind a distinct and inspirational collection of beauty rituals: Everyone deserves youthful skin.
Your skin deserves to look and feel flawless. You also deserve the best that the world offers, in the form of advanced beauty methods that are as natural and nurturing as possible. This philosophy is embodied in Kumaara's unique and seamless blend of Eastern botanical traditions and Western scientific innovations."
And this pretty much sums up my personal beauty philosophy. I like natural things, but, golly do I love scientific innovations. Better living through chemistry and all that!
Here’s what their website says about the concealer:
Hide blemishes and imperfections
· Brightens skin and conceals under-eye circles
· Provides smooth, illuminating coverage
· Soft, tapered brush allows for flawless application
Provides smooth, illuminating coverage of under-eye circles and other skin imperfections. Creamy consistency won't settle into fine lines. Soft, tapered brush allows for flawless application.”
And it really does. This week I have been using the Illuminating Primer over moisturizer with sunscreen and this concealer on top. I look great. My skin glows and looks, well, pretty close to perfect. I have found my perfect concealer and this is now a holy grail item!
If you have tried this, I am sure you share my joy at finding such an amazing product. And if you haven’t tried, do yourself a favor and give it a try. I think you will be as happy as I am!

Awesome! I too am always on the hunt for a perfect concealer (AND foundation, for that matter!). I will have to check this out. Great review though and I am so happy you found something that works for you!
I've never used a concealer a day in my life but that does not mean that I don't need it. I will have to go out and check this product out. I've heard a lot about Kumaara products and I guess that means I need to research it a little further to see what they are all about. I must say this was a great review!

Great review! It sounds like you hit the concealer jackpot. I am always looking for a nice concealer for my acne issues. I definitely prefer primer and a concealer instead of foundation any day. I am always searching for that perfect balance between not too dry and not too creamy. Like Goldilocks I am looking for just right. Maybe this would work for me. We will have to see!
WTG, Agrimony! Excellent review. By now, y'all have convinced me that I really need to look into this Kumaara line. I don't use concealer that much - and the one I have is from The Balm. It works well enough. But of course, I'm also using foundation. EVERY DAY. I'm thinking of trying your routine of moisturizer (tinted, maybe), primer and concealer would be a nice, low maintenance routine for the summer. And despite my investment in the Monistat faux primer - I'm seriously tempted to try Kumaara's illuminating primer. I love MMU for all the new ideas you give us. BTW - those nasty little capillaries, spider veins on our faces? I had them BAD. My dermatologist zapped them a couple of years ago, using some electrical thingie (not laser). Didn't cost much, and worked great!

Wow! Thanks for the review. This concealer sounds heavenly. I haven't found my perfect concealer, but you give me hope that I may find it with this line.
Thanks for the awesome review! I'm glad you found something that works perfectly for you! Like you I am often frustrated that concealers come in only a few 'universal' shades! I remember the first time I used my mom's concealer. It was this bright yellow stick (can't remember the name) and looked awful on me. I stayed far away from concealer until about a year ago, so about ten years!
Oh and I forgot the whole reason I wanted to post! That's so awesome that they give a good quality concealer brush with it! It shows the company really stands by their product if they are willing to be so generous in giving a quality brush with it!
Sounds lovely, and I do need to find a concealer that gives a bit more coverage than my loose powder ones for those really pesky, red spots. Might be worth trying this one.Thank you for the review. :)
i am always looking for a good concealer, but color is always off, since my skin is really white in winter but gets quite tan in summer... so difficult to get one with right color, and good coverage at same time. i have settled for YSL Touche Eclat which doesnt conceal as much as it luminizes. But so far i have gotten the best results out of it, than any other brand.thanks for the review
Hello. I am using the Kumaara stuff on their 30 day trial. I am also thrilled.I want to add that I have sensitive skin and it worked just fine on face. I know many people such as myself who have sensitive/combination skin sometimes hesitate it trying something new. I ask myself ,"Is this going to clog my pores?" The answer is NO. I did not see any irritation at all. If you in the market for a concealer I encourage you to try it. I am glad I did.
Great review! I'm currently using mark's concealer stick over my tinted moisturizer followed by a swipe of their powder buff. The concealer stick works great for me unless I'm having a truly horrible breakout on my chin. (Which seems to happen 1 week of the month that almost every lady lives with) I've started searching again for another concealer that would do heavy duty covering without looking like it just for this purpose. No luck yet but I will have to track this down and check it out. Who knows, maybe it will become my holy grail as well. :)
Omg...Can I tell you how much I love this? Seriously. This is probably the favorite item that Meg sent me in my little package. I looove it. It goes on so silky and blends nicely. It covers dark circles under my eyes perfectly. It also does a nice job covering blemishes. I'm sold on this and totally in love.
Well, it is no surprise that loving the rest of the Kumaara line I should love this concealer as well. I almost didn't, though. I came thisclose to saying "Ach, ptooey." Because I was given the light/medium shade. And Agrimony, just as you are light in one line and medium in another, my light skin did not love the light concealer. Fortunately, when I ordered the 30-day trial eye kit, the shade I ordered was medium/dark. I figured I could blend them both a get a match, but in fact the second shade was already a match. Once applied, it just blended in beautifully, and I could then devote my full attention to its many virtues. And boy, does it have them. Everything Agrimony said, and more. I have never been one to think that having one successful product meant I had to buy all their products. I am a mix and match gal, always have been. But Kumaara is changing my mind. Why should I flit from flower to flower when I am a busy bee, doing more than testing products and spending money? Those of their products I have tested have been of uniformly excellent quality, so I have decided to flit no more. I am now going to try their face set, and if it's as good as the eye one I may become a branded, loyal Kumaara Gal.
Wow, it sounds like I missed out by not getting to review this line! You are all very convincing!!
These reviews are consistently positive about Kumaara. I read the review of the eye treatment and thought it is something I should get for my mom. After reading this review, in addition to the rest, I think I'm going to also. Thanks!

Agrimony - great review. I am soooo wishing I could get my hands on this line - every review gets fabulouser and fabulouser. Concealer is my personal holy grail of cosmetics ever since I broke out in acne for the first time in my life last year. Also battle with redness - most concealers I've tried don't do much for me there, unless I put it on with a trowel....but then it looks like you are wearing too much......

Great first review Agrimony! I have never found "the one" when it comes to concealer. Concealer usually looks too orange or yellow on my skin. And, concealer sticks seems to be too cakey and concealer powders do not provide enough coverage. Y'all have been absolutely raving about Kumaara. I really would like to check it out. I am hesitant to do the "free trial" since I am notorious for not keeping track of things like this and would go past my 30 days.
Thank you for the review! I'm very interested in trying this!
This company is going to be the next big,big thing. They make so many of us feel good about themselves. Have you noticed that one tiny adjustment to your beauty routine and BAM, life is just a bit more Rosy! Yep, lovin' it!I got it in light/medium, its a little too light I am going to order it in the next shade up. Then I am going to buy every single product they sale, then I am going to stock pile it too make sure I have enough until I am so old my daughters need to trim my 8 inch long eyebrow hairs. That oughta do it!Arigmony, FABULOUS JOB! I really enjoyed your review, you made me laugh and it was super informative. Plus, I love to experience everyone's writing styles, it such an intimate peek into who we really are, ya know?
Great review! I really dont have a need for concealer but when I do I need a great one to get the job done perfectly. This sounds like it could possibly be that ONE. I'll try and find this product so I can try it out and hopefully give you gals a great review like this one.

I also LOVE this product and brush! I agree with stylemama that this company has it goin' on and do believe they will do very well once they are "out there" a bit more! It's a lovey and high-quality compact and yes,the brush really does rock! The light is great for me and I think it just might be the "best ever" for covering but not caking or getting all glippy-gloppy!LOVE the review as well!!!
I have been using the cinema secrets concealer which is amazing but it is in a palette of 4 other colors (this is for my makeup artist kit). I would love to have my own concealer in the perfect shade! I really appreciate compacts that come with GOOD brushes (rare!), I would love to try this! I have a hard time matching my skin =(
Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I forgot to mention what Mjsred said about it not caking or anything - it doesn't. I still check to be sure, LOL The whole Kumaara line seems amazing and I am really excited about it. Again, I just want to thank everyone who posted and liked the review, your responses really made my day. Oh, heck, my week. This has fired me up on some other writing I am doing like nothing else!
It is such a pleasure to have a forum where those who want to write are nurtured and encouraged, so again, hats off to Meg for being such a fabulous mentor. Before I found MMU I was so often frustrated on other sites because comments more detailed that one or two sentences were severely discouraged, as were "off topic" remarks. Here, nothing is off-topic. We share our opinions, our expertise, our questions and, most delightfully, our lives. So Stylemamma and Agrimony, Mazel Tov and keep 'em coming!
I agree that your review is great, Agrimony! Of course I'd love to try it, but I'll probably gonna wait until I run out of my current concealer; I use MAC Studio Finish concealer, it's one of the best so far I tried. As MAC offers them in a great variety of shades, I didn't have a problem finding my match although my skin is very pale/light and mostly every other concealer looks caked on.

Here's the deal, this Kumaara concealer and all of the other completely appealing Kumaara products I have tried are packaged in elegant black and gold containers. My immediate thought was that the containers are very rich looking and they remind me of something that would have been used back in the time of Egypt. You just have to know that these most revered items of makeup and skin care in their sleek containers would have been put right inside the tomb, along with jewels and gems with Queen Nefertiti if Kumaara had been around in 1390 B.C.E.! The printing of the word 'Kumaara' even looks like script from another time – also so very elegant!
Nefertiti's name means "The beautiful one is come”. Again my point...with the Kumaara products you will have people you know announcing when YOU walk into the room “THE BEAUTIFUL ONE IS COME!” I'm telling you – this product line is all that!
I just love the quality! When I open up the impressive little gold & black box of concealer, it's almost like the feeling of when you were a little girl and you got to open your mom's best jewelry box and the treasures inside had you giddy with anticipation and excitement! Then to actually have a special 'tool' to use to apply the concealer... (honey! This is the big leagues!)
I received the 'light to medium' shade but I'm not entirely sure if the color is quite the right match on my skin for the areas I wish to conceal. I have more of an olive toned face! However I can tell you that it's effortless to put on! Smooth baby! I have to stop writing now because I'm going to go update my will and mention that I'd like to be buried with the Kumaara product line (especially the concealer in this delightful little gold & black case) – I'll probably REALLY need it at that point!!) LOL! If someone does try to put some of the radiant finish concealer on me, they better be using the nice little applicator brush that comes with it and not their finger or a crusty old q-tip!
Jeanasina!
Four more words....Agrimony does awesome work!
Jeanasina!
Really, really good review! Their company should hire you! You have totally convinced many of us that this product deserves our attention! And, yes, it seems that you like it a little---hehe!
Hey, good review! Would you say that this is better than Laura Mercier? That is, assuming you have used Laura Mercier, which I'm sure you have. That is my currently HG concealer, but I'm always looking to try something new.
SO much better than Laura Mercier. And I am an enormous fan of Ms. Mercier. But better.
Okay, then, I will have to try it. So far, I have never found anything to match, let alone surpass Laura Mercier.
Wow great reviewI never really put much thought into a concealer... And its no wonder I am always dissaponted!Need to track some down!
Tan is Love
Boy, do I need this stuff. My rosacea and combination skin are killing me and I surely don't need something else to add to my makeup routine. This product sounds like it would be just the thing to simplify my routine while making me feel and look better at the same time. I'll have to be on the lookout for a good price and give it a try. Thanks for the very informative review.
Moema....always a Mom first
I'd never heard of this company until the reviews here, but I'm always on the lookout for something to cover up my undereye circles. I don't need a lot of makeup otherwise, but concealer can be so tricky to get right. I'm so very pale that most of them don't match flawlessly - if I ever get a chance to try this one out I definitely will!
It is so hard to find a good concealer and one that actually matches your skin color. I actually have a huge blue birthmark on my right cheek and I've always been constantly finding the best concealer to disguise it. This might not be the miracle worker I am looking for but it could be simply a great undereye concealer and great at hiding those pesky red spots!
Ohhhh i think I would really love this!!! I have been looking for a good concealer and I love that little brush!!! The packaging is really appealing and from the great reviews I think I need this!!!
I must give this a try. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect concealer to cover my acne scars. I usually tend to avoid concealers that are marked in the middle of color schemes, but this one may be worth the shot!
Oh, the packaging is so pretty. I know packaging isn't that important, but, you know, this is pretty and a joy to use, the packaging just enhances an already incredible product. The black and gold is really very nice.Jeanasina, I really liked your comments about Nefertiti. I have been using a body wash and soap from Kings and Queens called Nefertiti and have always felt a connection to her and Ancient Egypt. Yes, she would have loved this.
Great review! I've also never done the whole tinted moisturizer with concealer routine. Mostly because my skin tone is unusual, and it's a struggle find something that works. I'll definitely have to check out this product though.
I received this in Light/Medium from Meg (thank you very much!).I've been testing it out and it's a little light for my skintone. And I wish the coverage were a lot heavier, because I have fairly dark undereye circles. However, the packaging is gorgeous (even the box it came in had the most elegant pattern inside!), the little concealer brush is nice and soft and works well, and it doesn't crease!!!! That is in itself a small miracle, because concealer almost always creases on me. So unfortunately, I probably won't go out and buy this ($29 concealer is a little spendy if it doesn't give me enough coverage). But it is a really nice product.

Wow amazing review,I really want it now,I used to love the lancome palette pro,but since it was discontinued I havent found anything I love as much.I used to use a concealear years ago (that was also discontinued-Im seeing a pattern here)among my friends it was known as the miracle stuff, anyway one night I was talking to the guy I fancied when one of my friends ran up"quick I have a spot, give me the miracle stuff,I know its in your pocket".I was like shut up never let the men see behind the illusion!I NEED A NEW MIRACLE STUFF,MABYE THIS IS IT?

I absolutly dislike light reflecting concealers. Under my eyes it seems to make the undereyes circles apear more and on blemishes they seem bigger. I use a paris berlin pallet right now and I love it.
i agree with micky santos, anything with obvious light reflectant stuff seems to draw attention to my imperfections. maybe this would work, but for now i don't need another concealer, i think im gonna stop expirimenting for a while and just let my skin take a break and just use what i have.
If youve got a light reflecting concealear you arent using on your skin, use it instead to make your lips look bigger, just put some on the concealear brush andapply to your cupids bow,it reflects the light and makes your mouth look bigger or you could apply to your brow bone to draw attention to your eyes.
PotionPrincess♥
Micky - you know that worried me, but, this is the most amazing concealer. It is reflecting, but, not shiney at all - it doesn't call attention to flaws, that I want concealed. At the same time, I see the reflective quality helps make me look good, radiant. it is hard to find the words I need to fully describe this. I am sitting at my desk, it is now over 10 hours that I have had my makeup on. I blotted once on my nose, and have reapplied lip gloss a number of times, but, I still look fresh. My capillaries are still hidden, and my whole face looks smooth and flesh. No caking.
I do love this concealor but I still use a little YSL touche eclat over it..why because my under eye circles are dark and vicious ya'll. However this concealor works better then any other concealor I have used under my YSL touche eclat ie I don't look like complete death like I usually do.
Hmmm...I am always trying to find a better concealer. I'll have to look into this one. Thanks for the review.

What a great review! I remember just a few years ago that concealer wasn't available in very many shades. It isn't like I have needed concealer for most of my life, because I am only 23. My skin used to be drop dead perfect. My skin looked so good, people swore it was airbrushed, and that was without a drop of makeup. I often thought of how lucky I was. I swore to myself that I was going to freak out if I ever got really bad skin. Well fast forward to a few years later, say 19ish. For the first time in my life I was almost done with my teen years, a college student, and had a sudden acne ridden face. Many people are just getting over the acne problems at this age, but mine were just starting. While everyone else was hopelessly suffering with acne in highschool, I had clear acne free skin. Everyone thought I was lucky, and so did I. And then when everyone's skin finally started to clear up, mine became horrible. I think it was mainly due to stress, and whacko hormones (if you can actually have whacko hormones at such an early age). Through my college years my skin was so horrible, that I often couldn't go without makeup anwyhere, because I looked like a swamp creature. Now for the first time in years my skin is pretty clear again. I do have the occasional breakout, and I do have a lot of acne scarring to deal with. But hopefully as time goes on my acne scarring will diminish. I know it's hard to find a good concealer. During my bad years I had to use a lot of concealer and foundation. I used up a concealer in about a month usually. I didn't feel bad about wearing all that makeup because I made it look very natural, and it was helping to hide my swamp monster skin. But it was just a pain in the butt. Many concealers don't conceal anything. This sounds like a wonderful concealer. I do have to use concealer once in a while still, and this sounds like a top of the line, full coverage concealer. For the occasional breakout, for my acne scarring, and for my photoshoots (where having flawless skin isn't an option, but a must), I think I'm going to try this.
I have REALLY dark circles. 10 times worse than my mom and friends. And I also have darkness at the corners of my mouth and on my chin. I don't use concealer on blemishes mainly because my tinted moisturizer covers enough and I don't want to cake things onto the sensitive area! The Kumaara concealer Meg sent me is right up there with the glorious TheBalm Time Balm concealer and much better than the Laura Mercier one (although LM setting powder is the bomb). The one that looks the best one me - Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer does not have that much staying power, even when I use powder to set it! I like using L'Oreal Bare Naturale loose powder concealer to set also since it has SPF 25. None are perfect, but I am content with the concealers I have now.
I am always looking for amazing concealers...I seem to suffer from dark circles no matter how much sleep I get. This is one of those miracle products that doesn't require much work at all. I keep it in my kit just in case :)
