I was wondering If shampoos and conditioners that are organic and sulfate free are better for your hair, and also how often do you suggest washing your hair?? Everyday, or every few days?? Thanks so much!! :)
This is really exciting and very nice of you to do. Thanks for thinking of us.I have naturally curly, brunette hair that is a little longer than shoulder length. I am 32 and have only added some subtle color to my hair less than ten times in my life. I never really know the best way to deal with my hair. I am not ever sure what the best and most stylish type of cut would be for my hair type. By the way, I have a big head and a wide forehead to boot. I feel that this limits my style options. I just feel like my hair often looks flat or frizzy. I am never quite sure of how to care for my hair at home. I never blow dry because it ends up looking even frizzier. I also am thinking of doing some mild highlights. But I am not quite sure of how to explain to my colorist that I want something natural that still makes an impact. These are not very specific questions, I know. But as I am sure you are aware of, many women struggle with how to handle their curls. I would appreciate any suggestions.Ok-A more specific question has just occurred to me. My curls always seem to have more volume and definition at the bottom of my head. While the top of my head always seems to have flat hair. Nothing seems to change this. What can I do?
Trends do you see going forward in hair for fall and winter? Any special tricks when dealing with thick hair? Thanks so much!
I have really thin hair that is colored and volumizing products make it look and feel really dry. Any suggestions?
What do you suggest for baby fine straight hair?? I'll admit I've never found a great shampoo/conditioner combo from a salon that I LOVE so I always end up going back to pantene. So many salons have told me pantene is awful for my hair, but to be honest, it seems to work just as good as anything THEY'VE recommended. I'd love to get a great shampoo/conditoner suggestion along with an easy to use product to help me build volume. I'm a busy mother of 2 so I only have time to wash and blow dry with a round brush (sometimes I'll use the flat iron for style on the weekends) so it has to be easy! How's THAT for a challenge?

Hey Marco! Thanks for joining the Monday Meg's Madness! :)I have thick but fine, color-processed hair that I'd love to do "something" with besides wear it straight but forget about it "holding a curl",have tried curling irons, hot rollers, you name it,flat will be back in about an hour,LOL!Anything "doable and fabulous" that I might try to give my look a bit of glam for a change and what products would you suggest to boost it a bit?HUGS to you and much continued success!
HI:-),I totally envy your hair structure because all I did ever since I was a teen is using the flat iron;-). After beginning with dying my hair in a range from pale blonde (!) to pitch black, pink...*g* I feel and sometimes can truly see that it needs more than regular care. In your case though what about washing your hair at night before you go to bed and let it airdry, putting it up in a bun so you (hopefully) end up the next morning with beautiful slightly wavy hair and lots of volume. I at least do that from time to time and it works wonders:-).

Oh boy, do I have hair questions!!- Can you suggest a non-drying shampoo that helps get rid of hard water minerals?
- I have pretty fine hair that has annoying cowlicks in it. The only way, I've been able to straighten my hair is with a flat iron, which eliminates all volume. Can you suggest another way to tame my annoying cowlicks and preserve volume?
- I've heard from many stylists to shampoo every other day. However, my hair is an oil slick if I don't shampoo. Any tips that you can suggest to shampoo every other day without having an oily mess? Thanks Marco! :)
I'm a student who barely has time to devote to her hair in the morning before class. Outside of ponytails or simply wearing my hair down, my hair routine is pretty boring!I have long, straight hair. Can you suggest some quick hairstyles or ways to jazz up my hair? Thanks!!
I'm also interested in Kimmielocks' question. In my case, I have really Asian hair - and WAY too much of it, but it lies flat because my strands are thin. What can I do to volumize my hair for every day to jazz up those everyday hairstyles? Also, I'm totally in love with headbands - and I was wondering if there were any cute styles that could use the headbands in a way other than just with my hair down and straight. Thanks so much for doing this, and I look forward to reading all of the responses!
xoxo
Hi Marco - thanks so much for helping us out! I have extremely curly hair, which (thanks to Mother Nature's sense of humor) has just gotten curlier as I've gotten older. I've learned to embrace it finally, but have two issues:1 - finding a really cute style that features curly hair and is low maintenance. My hair is fairly short. If I pull the curl down, it's almost to the bottom of my neck. 2 - what to do about my graying hair. I have it colored regularly (at the salon) but the gray hairs take on a different shade sometimes. Right now for example, my hairline is Ronald McDonald red. The rest is my regular blondish-brownish color. I am freaking out!I appreciate any suggestions you have.

Hi, Marco! I've had thick, straight, layered hair until about a year ago when it started thinning. With a heart shaped face, what type of cut would you suggest? Thank you so much for your time!
Marco, this is most kind of you, THANK YOU! COLOR QUESTION:Do you think blonde highlights look good on someone with medium/dark brown hair and brown eyes?I am gradually going lighter with this approach but I'm not sure when to stop. I'm loving the blonde, it is so bright and fun. What's the best way to accomplish this look without looking completely over-done? I've also noticed that the lighter my hair gets the less red my face looks. It's as if the blonde in my hair is toning down my ruddy complexion. Does that mean I should go even more blonde? Much Appreciation! We all love you here at Meg's! Stylemama
I have very thick, very long, very flat hair that tends to be very dry at the ends but is otherwise soft and silky. What can I use on all of my hair (as opposed to just the ends) to keep it moisturized without weighing it down even more?
Hi Marco (and everyone else!)My hair is naturally curly (like ringlet curls) and is also very fine. I have a problem with my hair due to chemical straightening. I lost chunks of hair when I got my roots 'touched up' and now have short bits of hair (couple inches long) that stick up everywhere. This looks especially silly because my hair is very long - like chest length. Do you or anyone else have any suggestions on treatments or anything that would encourage those short bits of hair to grow faster?? Is that even possible? Thanks in advance, any information would be greatly appreciated! :)
I dye my hair on a fairly normal basis and I was just wondering is there any way to reduce the damaging/drying effects from drying? Also, I have super fine but fairly thick hair, what's the best way for me to cut my hair? I usually end up just getting layers, but I've had the same hairstyle forever and I'm tired of it.
What would you suggest is the best way to go blond? And is it safe to get a perm before or after dying your hair?xoTiera

I can't tell you how we all appreciate you taking your time to answer some of our questions. 1) If I would like my hair to fall a certain way, ie: part more over to the side? Can you get it to do that by training it with time to fall that way?2) I love my hair dark ( it is natural) Have read that after your over a certain age its best to lighten up. Is this true with everyone? Thanks so much!Artcandy

Thank you for offering to be our hair guru - and help us keep the planet beautiful. Having long, unprocessed, waist-length fine and wavy hair, I'd like to know what I can do to keep it healthy, strong and lioness-like. I use jojoba oil on the ends once per week, and it seems to hold the wave longer. I look forward to your suggestions. Thank you.
Hi Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions :-) I was wondering what you would suggest for me as I have a lot of dermatitis on my scalp shampoo really irritates my scalp :-( I've had this for years the doctor gave me a steroid scalp treatment which I hardly ever use as it's very sore when I apply it. Thanks
oh no, i missed to Q&A! i'll just review the questions posed by others. thanks for this and i hope you do similar things in the future!

Maybe I am just suffering from low caffiene levels, but, where are the answers?
Top of the evening to you Marco! As you can see I am a woman with blonde hair who just happens to be 61 years of age! I love being a blonde so until I'm ready to let my hair be the unappealing grey shade that is hiding just waiting to sprout it's dull grey hue - this is me. My hair matches my personality! My question is....I have FINALLY grown out my bangs - a completely maddening process to endure without going completely mad! I have heard from many hairdressers that if you are an OLDER woman you should wear bangs to hide the unsightly lines we have and also that it will make us look much younger. This is the first time I haven't had bangs in decades and I'm liking the swept over to the side look. Do you have a strong feeling one way or another about older women having bangs? Thanks for your time!
Jeanasina!
I have a question Marco:I use Pravana Magenta: Two "ouches" in the colour stay department temporary and red!! I have heard you mention about the sulfates before, but I've had several hairdressers tell me that the best way for my magenta to stay is to go ahead and use the Sulfate Free shampoo. Any Additional tips to keep my touchy color looking Fab for as long as possible? Thanks!
How do you take care of your hair during the fall/winter months ?Thank you !
I think I logged on here too late...(I will just review what others have asked). But thank you for taking the time to answer the hair questions.
Marco, I have 3a/3b curls that are of medium texture, but lots of thick hair. What's your opinion on layers, thinning, and other techniques? What suits curls best? (my hair is several inches below my shoulders)

How do I get rid of holidays (darker yellowish/brassy colored spots) in my hair? It's really bright bleached blonde, and I'm trying to maintain a gorgeous platinum white while wanting to grow it out. I'm terrified to put bleach on those darker spots in fear of my hair being uneven colored (even though it already kindof is) or my hair snapping off. I also would love to know what lighteners you work with most on the celebs? I love CHI lighteners (Blondest Blonde and Hussy Blonde) but we mostly use Blonde Dimentions at the salon.
