ANOTHER MEGS MAKEUP POINTS UPDATE-AGAIN DON"T WORRY-WE COOL BABY!
Meg here! I've been reading your "CHIT CHAT" oh great, now I'm a "lurker" on our makeup points program and I want to share with you what I'm thinking. You may want to read it because A. I'm in charge of the makeup points system and B. SEE A
First off, don't worry that the makeup points program will "dry up" Hear me loud and proud ladies THIS SYSTEM IS WELL FUNDED AND WILL BE GREAT FOR AS LONG AS THE SITE IS UP-PROMISE!
Why? Well, you're providing very valuable feedback-whether positive or negative for the makeup brands that participate and instead of paying an expensive market research company they get all the info they need from your opinions and it just costs them products instead of 10k. SO we will be all set forever rewarding thoughtful, articulate and supportive woman.
WHEN YOU REACH MILESTONES-50 pts. 150 pts and even 250 pts. There is no robot or machine-there is me, Meg I decide 100% who gets what and I am careful to se what is placed in every envelope. So yes, everyone will get something great for their points. I DECIDE HOW GREAT.
Life may not be fair-you know what? Megsmakeup is fair. 50 comments that say "Sounds good" Will get you a great prize (I'm not being a braggart-we give amazing prizes). It will get you nowhere what the commenter that left well thought-out and insightfuls comment will get. Nowhere near it. Trust me.
So ladies, keep on doing the good you're doing! We super reward informative, insightful and witty-All the way around helpful comments!

I can't speak for anyone else but I know you always take good care of me!!! When I find out the prices for most of the things you send me....I'm like OMG!! I would have never been able to afford these quality products on my own! Everyone should be putting their all into their comments and not be trying to take advantage!
Meg, you're such a sweet person to take the time to put thought into each package that you send out. I know you're a busy person. I'm thankful that the points program is still going on since some people were abusing the system. Not that it's the only reason I hang around the site! :)
Meg, if you sent me a box of Q-Tips I would be thrilled. I love being part of this fabulous community of women (and the two men I know of) and amazed at the depth and breadth of opinion, expertise, honesty and fun I experience whenever I click on the site. The rest is amazing, nourishing but totally non-fattening gravy.
Thank you for clarifying this Meg. I have said this before, I like to participate but, NEVER want to take advantage. I have not cashed in because I did not want to be perceived as "product greedy." I will tell you that I have taken a good amount of time to go to each companies website to learn not only the product that I received but, other products in their line as well. Through this exploration, I have found two new loves that I probably never would have found on my own outside of this site. There companies are Kumaara and Cat Cosmetics.The was a review of the primer by Kumaara this week. Everyone loves this product. But, I want to tell you I am just as "high" on the skin care.I have reached out to your members on a couple of occasions for situations. They answered questions and helped with their own experience. This knowledge was invaluable to me. I feel like people here may even be more honest than they might be in person.Thank you for providing this wonderful environment!

Meg, I'm glad that you said what you did in your comments above. Not only are vague trite comments an insult to Meg regarding the makeup points system, but they do absolutely nothing for us readers. One of the most precious things about the site is how much we can learn from each others experiences, and comments like that demean the value of the site. We are glad if you think something sounds interesting, but you don't need to tell us in a post.

Meg you ROCK! It is evident when you open the package that you put thought and care into it. And the handwritten note. Oh my goodness that was just the best. I have it here on my desk, and you just can't know how much it means. Sometimes I want to comment, but, don't have a lot to add to what has already been said. Hey girls, I Do love the products I've received! I wear the Urban Decay lipstick daily! and the sunblock...I love the scent, so light and summery.If I've bought a product that's being reviewed I'll give my most truthful and honest review that I can muster, but I especiallylike reading and commenting on the reviews of products that I've seen and have thought about buying. Its very interesting to read a review and learn from that person experience. I look forward every day to when I can get home and jump on my computer and log into Megs, for me its like joining a group of friends at the end of the day and sharing our beauty secrets, beauty mishaps and beauty successes. i just tried the Epione sunblock that i got and i loved it. It even gives a slight shimmer to my legs- or maybe my vision gets blurry because it is so hot by the pool :) i loved the things i got, and i am sure everyone else is of same opinion. Thanks a lot!

Meg,I would be on this site even if it wasn't for freebies. I just love chatting with woman that have similar interests as myself. When I read I learn. When I learn I become a wiser person, so with that said, love reading all posts. But have to admit the ones that have substance are the best. Agrimony says it in the same way I would and that is, I love to comment but if enough has been said I just leave well enough alone. Also Idpage...I do the same. When I get home...or need a break. I come on and check in with the girls...oops and boys. ( I always feel bad leaving them out...anyone else?) It's like having a coffee or tea break. A nice gab session! I really think that's the way to go. I mean, you put time in what you do, so also should we. I think it's important that readers help eachother out. If someone has a question and you know the answer, just help them out. And that it's a much more valuable action than just some 2 words comment. I just cannot imagine the amount of work you go through everyday, reading people's comments and deciding what they should get.

I was reading this site for a long time before I even saw the chat. Then I joined not for the free products, but because I really wanted the opinions of the readers. My gosh, where else can you reach out to literally thousands of women and hear what they have to say? (Isn't the internet amazing?) Everyone I've met has been so helpful and sincere. I for one like to research most products before I buy, especially when there are a lot of bucks at stake. Thank you Meg--this site is great and does a great service.
When I first found this website, on a total fluke, I thought it had to be meant to be since my name is Meg also, but since joining I have found so many other women who enjoy trying new products and gushing over secret finds and cosmetic weapons. That makes perfect sense to me. The more input/opinion on a product - the better the reward. I love it here. There are so many great ladies and you all KNOW your stuff about beauty. I'm pretty fanatic about makeup and it's always nice to find other junkies :)I was totally jazzed by what I got in the mail (my boyfriend can confirm this seeing that I was jumping around my kitchen like a lunatic). I definitely got some great goodies. My fav was the Urban Decay ink for eyes. I loooove it. I'm going to buy the deep green and the egg plant the next time I go to Sephora.We seriously appreciate everything you do for us Meg!
Sounds good...LOL, kidding of course. You know it all makes sense to me. There's always going to be people that participate and do the bare minimum just to get points. I like that you are behind the scenes though and can tell the difference between someone just looking for some free schwag and someone contributing to a great website. Since day 1 I've found the points system to be generous. I'll be the first to admit that was what first lured me into the site. But now it's the content that keeps me coming back.

Thanks for posting again about the points. Clarification (of pores, rules, and in comments) is a wonderful thing. I've been here for a while (lurking about until recently) and I must say that the site has just gotten better and better. I'm so glad that Meg's has grown so much and that more fabulous, amazing women have discovered the site and have begun to contribute. And that you're savvy enough to really reward those who put their all into commenting. Like I've said before, the points system is frosting on a cosmetic cake. Or cake on frosting if the frosting is your favorite part.
Ah! So that's how these amazing prizes keep on comin'! Market research, that makes a whole bunch of sense. I'm glad you don't just hand out prizes, it really is nessasary to work for such awesome gifts. I love this site for the thoughtful reviews and the amazing women. I was a member of this site before the points thing arrived, and while it's wonderful and generous and great that you do reward your members, the reason I love coming back to this site again and again is for all the great advice, and most importantly - the TRULY WONDERFUL inspirational, caring women who have become my friends. I really, really, really like make-up, but not nearly as much as I love y'all.Also so many things are hilarious, or thought-provoking and everything in between - Meg you should think of doing a 'Meg's Makeup Book' - you have so much amazing material here.

Amen cugo123! I couldn't agree with you more, I too have made great friends on here and that is what counts the most for me. And all the great advice and information too. I've learn so much and have try so many different products that i wouldn't of if it wasn't for this site. I truly feel like I can express myself here with no judments like many of us as mention before. And like Joan said you could send me a box of Q-tips and I would be as happy as pigs in S*&^ :) But I do know that Meg puts a lot of thoughts in her gift packs and picks what's best for each one of us. I truly appreciate all the time and effort. Meg is the BEST!
I joined Megs also before there was a point's system! It's the advice that I come here for as well as the personal stories and experiences. It sometimes makes a bad day better just coming here to read. People give really personal insights that are real and so many times there are comments that we all can relate to and you just think "Wow! That person has experiences just like me!" The amount of times that this website has made me see/read from commentary that some product I may have never thought about would really be great for me is huge! I live for feedback and all of you who comment provide such excellent and TRUE feedback! There is no BS or saying what we think Meg would want to hear - it's true expressions of experiences we all have! I LOVE THAT! This website is fabulous just on it's own; with the bonus points as an added feature now...well how GENEROUS is that? I mean, that's just so above and beyond any makeup website. Meg is such a great woman and she really values your input - your HONEST straight-forward input! Meg's gift bags are really outstanding! The gift bags are not full of 'dud' products or dried up tubes of outdated mascara! Ladies these are all top quality items and so many times, items that you might never have had the opportunity to try and experience if not for Meg and her generous heart and awareness of what products might rock your day and your year! Oh, that's cool.(Kidding, kidding...)It's great that you take such a personal approach with the products you send us, Meg...it must take time! I have yet to redeem points for anything but I'm sure I'll be all giddy and happy when I do - can't imagine being disappointed.
I'll be honest,when I was sent an invite I signed up for the "free makeup", but once I started reading the blog and chatting in the message boards I fell in love with this site. It's like Makeup alley only personal. I love communicating with the fellow members and getting their thoughts on anything from makeup to getting healthy. It really is a great and nurturing environment.
I haven't redeemed my makeup points, yet. I love this site just for the amazing support that is provided to everyone here by everyone here. It's a comfortable place to be, and comforting when I need it. I also love the great info and reviews of products. I know like all others I work hard for my money and hate to waste it on a useless product. I know other women feel this way also. If I happen to be the person that bought the useless product and it helps you to decide whether or not to buy the product and possibly save yourself the moolah, then it was totally worth it. I love Meg and all the other gals (and guys) here! :P
I love your site, its truly the reason i give up sleep and I do not regret the time I spend on here. The woman on this site are either an inspiration or just a plain crack-up, I thank god that not all the woman out there are as mean and spiteful as I thought all girls were. Somehow you seem to have weeded the bad seeds out, I don't know how you did but I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I can't tell you how many nice people I have met on this site and honestly, it's really refreshing to see. At my age of 17, girls seem to be cut-throat in the sense that they will be your friend only to steal your boyfriend or your clothes...
