DIVADERME BROW EXTENDER!

Tantejoan here, filling in for our Drugstore Deals Diva, Gigi. In her honor, I have decided to feature the item that has revolutionized my make-up routine: Divaderme Brow Extender. Now, you may think "revolutionize" is an extreme word to employ for a mere eyebrow cosmetic. If so, you are obviously among the happy many who wake every day possessed of a luxuriant growth of hair above your eyes. Perhaps you even lament their abundance, and have to tame or trim them. In that case, you can skip right on down to the next article, because this one will be of no possible interest to you.
Now that we have the room to ourselves, I am happy to share with all my sisters a product that can allow you to go forth into the world with eyebrows to flaunt, not hide. Women who have spent endless time and money searching for that perfect eyebrow pencil, that transformative gel, that $178 elixir that would solve all their eyebrow woes in only 6 to 12 weeks! Women who suffer from sparse eyebrows, whether from over-plucking or heredity, or whose eyebrow color is so fair as to be virtually invisible, know what a chore it can be to start every day drawing on the frame for their eyes. I know I did, and it became an increasingly daunting task. I tried brow pencils, brow gels, neutral eye shadows -- anything to give some substance to my wispy, thin, inadequate brows. Even the most successful of these efforts was only half-successful at most. If the pencil was the right shade it offered no volume. When the gel swept my hairs upward in a semblance of fullness the result was still thin and made me look permanently surprised. The shadows worked well at first, but had no staying power, wearing off as the day progresses. I despaired. Until last month.
Ladies, I offer you relief, and the delivery, not just the promise, of eyebrows in 1 second. Well, 2 seconds, tops.
Divaderme Brow Extender brings the look of full, lush eyebrows in a formula that gives you the choice of a one- or two-step application. For those, like me, who don't mind applying the fibrous powder to my brows each day as the price for a thorough evening cleansing, a simple application every morning will marry fibers to your own brow hairs to achieve a full, natural effect. And if you prefer a more lasting look, there is a primer adhesive as a first step which, when followed with the fiber extensions, keeps your enhanced brows in place for up to three days. I confess, I have not tried this method, but a colleague of mine at work, also brow-deficient, claims hers stayed in place for a long weekend. Called "Brows inn a Bottle," Divaderme comes in four shades, and I can attest, having bought both Blonde and Auburn, that they can be mixed and blended for a natural-looking custom color.
Wait, you may say. Aren't I still drawing on my brows each morning? Yes, I am. The difference is, there's no mess, no mistakes and I'm done with what was once an onerous chore in less time than it takes to apply my lipstick. I'm sold, and for what I will save on miracle-grow serums that do nothing but drain my wallet, I can count myself thrifty as well.
Anyone else love this remedy or found another one for anorexic eyebrows?

Tantejoan, you crack me up! "Now that we have the room to ourselves", classic. Like you, and the rest of the sparsely browed divas I have problems in that area. A few years ago I saw a dermatologist for this problem and here is what he recommended:Apply Women's Rogaine (do not under any circumstances use the men's version) with a Q-Tip twice daily. Be careful not to get it in your eyes. Also, make sure you do not apply it anywhere else but your brows. If you accidentally employ a sloppy technique you could end up with a hairy forehead. (I can see it now, the next big beauty trend: forehead waxing!) It will take several weeks to notice new growth but it will happen. The only setback, when you stop using it you will probably lose most of the new growth. Once I got my brows where I wanted them I cut back to using this only once a day. For me that was more than enough. I have had several women try this and they have all been pleasantly surprised and thrilled with the results. If we pair the dermatologist's suggestions with Tantejoans, perhaps we will be asked to leave the room during our next "brow discussion". Thanks Tantejoan, really great review and an exciting new find. I can't wait to give it a try! Gigi, You are in my thoughts and prayers, get better soon.
Great review Tantejoan! And great tip Stylemama, you are too funny "waxing forehead". I don't have this problem but will make sure to pass these great finds to my Mother. She pretty much tweezed herself next to nothing and it never grew back. She's got a pencil thin eyebrows left ;-)
Gigi, your in my thoughts and prayers too! Sending healing energy and Love your way!
I am totally interested in anything that will help my very sparse eyebrows! I have bookmarked the website for future use...right now I am using Rogaine for Women (on my brows) I've only been using this for a few weeks, I'm going to give it about 5-6 mo. then since I've been dealing with problem for so long (20+ yrs.) a few more months won't hurt. Sounds like a great product, I will pass the info on...
Joan, you are a HOT MESS,LOLROF! Okay...this sounds like a product I've lived way too long without and will someone please show me where to buy it in an "Auburn" shade as the brown or black on the link simply won't do.I'll gladly trade a few of my heavy-fringe eyelashes for just several more brow hairs!!! Desperate here, have tried the Rogaine to no avail so I'm hoping this just might be my ticket to brow-Nirvana???Great review and am jonesing to try this... Canceling my order for those brow-merkins as we speak. :)
I hope everything goes well for you Gigi! This product does sound amazing. I have fairly thick eyebrows, but they end a little short. If I don't extend the length on each side I look sort of mad. I hope my CVS around the corner carries them. Going now...
mjsred I did a quick peek on ebay and I see there was at least one seller that carries it there in different colours. The site linked here was for a store that sells the stuff, so even if you google, you're bound to find other stores.... good luck!
I have noticed I am brow deficient. My eye brows went blonde (ok, white, damn it!!) and sparse, I was visiting my son in the LA area and he said "you look like you have no eye brows, it is creeping me out" I said "ok, let me fix it" I went into the bathroom and took my heaviest black masacara and gave myself "groucho Marx" eye brows, I went out and said "ok, I am ready to go out for dinner" my poor son said "mom, what are you doing, you look like groucho marx" Thats the look I am going for, after a min of poor son of mine being flustered, I washed the GM out of my brows and did light color to my brows. I hadn't been paying a lot of attention to my eye brows, so it wasn't until this no eye brows and you're creeping me out thing that I realized not only have I graduated from full nice brows to blonde (white) brows but now I have graduated to sparse and thin brows, I will give this product a go. Thank U for the tips on where to buy the auburn, need some auburn too. TTYL with an update. Gigi, you're a wonderful person, I love u and I am praying for u daily and visualizing you in a healing light. XOXOOXOXO
Thanks, ladies, for not laughing at my obsession! In addition to eBay and the link above, I've had luck finding my darling Divaderme at drugstore.com, Amazon.com, QVC and at Ricky's, but that latter may be an East Coast resource. And the best range of colors - 6 shades - may be at Skin Care by Alana. Try this link: http://store.skincarebyalana.com/servlet/-strse-914/Divaderme-Brow-Exten....I'm using Cappuccino today, and I must say my visible brows make me a happy camper. Stylemamma, I am definitely going to consider the Rogaine route, and while I wait to see what, um, develops, I'll keep this little wonder in my arsenal.Keep sending those positive vibes to our girl Gigi! I've had fun guest-diva-ing, but what we all need is the genuine article. And I'll end as she always does, God bless.
My brows are incredibly thick BUT they end too soon, they're waaaaaay to short. I'll have to try this!
Tantejoan! Great review! What a concept for a product! I’m sending serious healing vibrations towards Gigi! I have a pretty good ‘middle’ of my eyebrow area but the front part of them (the widest part) looks about as sparse as a fuzzy caterpillar would look if it was snatched up by a playful cat and batted around with the cat’s paw for a good hour and then let go. The caterpillar survives but most of his fuzzies would be GONE!!! You get the picture. My eyebrows are also too short right now, somebody with bad vision apparently over plucked one and then had to over pluck the other one to make them match! Some freak show bobble-headed old woman is always doing shit to my brows! I don’t know how the heck she gains access to me but she always does! I try to get to a professional waxologist now and again and the waxologist always suggests I don’t tamper with my brows in between my appointments with her but…enter the bobble headed woman with a large tweezer in her hand. Anyway, I read up on this product and where I do think it’s gotta be a great concept, that’s a lot of vials, brushes and good eyesight needed to correctly apply this stuff so first…I’m going to check out stylemama’s Woman’s Rogaine treatment and see what that does, although it’s a bummer if the new growth disappears when you stop! I have been contemplating trying that stuff ever since she mentioned it. I’m SO afraid of getting it into my eye though! I probably should wear some type of pirate patch while applying it. That should go well! Reading glasses, eye patch, magnification mirror. I just had a thought! What if the Rogaine drips down on my hand! That would be good! I can just see me sitting here at work, typing away with a werewolf hand!
Jeanasina!
Dear Werewolf Hand,I have that same bobble-head constantly messing with me, why oh why can't she just leave us alone? Geesh! Do not worry about getting the Rogaine in your beautiful eyes. Just use a saturated Q-Tip for application (just make sure it isn't so wet that it is dripping), it is almost impossible for it to go anywhere but where you want it to. My only advice would be to be very PATIENT. This chit takes time, but it works, seriously. It could take anywhere from one-six months. That time is going to pass whether you apply the Rogaine or not, so what do you have to lose? It really only takes seconds to apply, very simple and easy. Good thing because, I only do simple and easy, I am a bit LAZY when it comes to these kind of things. (Full disclosure: I have to fight my LAZY nature daily. Who ever thought I could be a successful stay-at-home-mom must have been out of her mind. There is no boss telling me not to be late, or pressuring me to meet a deadline. What's a girl like me to do? I need a boss, one that is a little bitchy, kind of pushy and one that doesn't mind doing my share of the work. Any takers?)
I am perfectly willing to donate any of my disgustingly abundant and out of control eyebrows. I have plenty to spare. It is essential for me to get waxed monthly or things get crazy. But hey one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!
Could this be it? Could this be the product that forever changes my life? Could I actually have full brows? I can barely fathom it. I have bookmarked this page and put this on my "to try" list. I've used brow enhancers for several years now. I was given the "gift of brows" (truly the gift that keeps on giving) by my Auntie. We were talking about makeup and she was saying her eyebrows were starting to thin out a bit in places so she had a brow powder that she used to fill them in a bit. I mentioned that mine are sparse and blonde and she grabbed me and dragged me to the bathroom. She grabbed her brush and Stila brow powder (the circular brow duo in the magnetic case) and drew some on. My face was transformed. She said that she only used the darker of the two so she popped her shade out of the magnetic case and pressed the other into my hand. I took it. Eventually, I stopped using that powder because it was a little too ashy and it didn't stay well on my oily skin. I moved on to Benefit's Brow Zings (has a wax and a powder two mini brushes and a little tweezer) and I still love it. It lasts and lasts (I swear I've had the same container for three years.) Despite being a dark brunette, I use the Light kit for blondes. It's dark enough on me. I never really use the tweezers (too small) or the little brushes because they're well... little. I like my full size brush from Bare Escentuals (angled and very stiff) so I don't feel like a giant Alice trying to handle something tiny. I find it looks best if I dab my brush in the wax and then the powder and then draw them on. If I'm having a poor coordination day and mess up the shape, then I grab a q-tip and fix it. If it looks too dark, then I grab my handy brow brush (a different one, the kind that's attatched back to back with an eyelash comb, know what I'm talking about?) and brush out the color a bit until I'm satisfied.
that rogain idea is really great, i hate waiting for brows to grow in and looking like a cave man until i can wax again, i will have to try this rogain trick. i wonder why not mens???

This sounds like a great product. I want to extend my eye brows. I have very then eyebrows that I have to fill in everyday.
I also fill in my eyebrows everyday, as I too, have sparse eyebrows, they don't seem to want to grow in some places. I'm currently drawing over them with a pencil and then placing eyebrow powder over that to set them. This seems to be working pretty well, but I'm definitely going to check this out. This sounds like a wonderful product.
Oh man. I'm so excited about this. I feel like I got ripped off in the eyebrow department. My sister got perfect eyebrows that she never ever needs to fill in, and I got stuck with... these!I'm hoping that I can find this on ebay and that it won't be too expensive! Since I live in NZ, ebay is probably my only choice! :P
What a great idea - for the review and on the Rogaine. I am going to try this as my brows could be a bit fuller.
It is sad when we overdo things. As a women I'm constantly striving for perfection. Even when I do something good I always want to improve upon it. There have been times when I have done some not so friendly things to my eyebrows. In junior high I shaved off like half my eyebrows. I didn't like them and I had tried unsuccessfully to make them pretty. I got so frustrated i cut the tails off of my brows. I took school pictures like that too. Wow, was I ignorant back then. Anyway a beauty product came to the rescue. Maybelline's famous brow and liner pencil. You know the kind that come in the double pack in the red casing that are super cheap. These things are amazing. There is a lot of hype about them for a reason. They really work! These pencils help fill in sparse brows, and create brows where there are none. These pencils come off looking really natural, like real hair. I highly recommend these.
my eyebrows are too thick so i have the opposite problem i guess. i found that threading was the best and the most inexpensive way to nicely shaped brows.
this is interesting for someone that would have the need... i always feel like i have just enough eyebrows - i wish i had more lashes!

I had the product used on me when being made up for a wedding and it really was a dramatic difference, a good one. I bought it later and use it daily. It's easy and looks terrific!
i should try this i have verrry thin/wideley spaced apart eyebrow hairs
I thought I might mention something I just tried and love - Tarte The Toolbox - in Light for me. This is a really great set - small pencil, but, what I like the most is the wax, powder and the setting gel. Also comes with some stencils - usable ones, and a tweezer - the tweezer is okay, nothing special, I still like my Tweezerman better, but, it is handy to have in the case and use on the go. The powder in this set, over the wax, goes on easy, looks great, it really fills in where I need it, and still looks natural enough.
I am in love with this product. I have the daunting task of drawing on eyebrows that actually probably looked better scarce than drawn on. THANK YOU for this!!!
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

I have dark eyebrows, and they aren't very sparse, so I don't really do anything to them.
I don't really do much make-up on my eye brows.
I don't really do much about my brows, I like them the way they are don't want them too fake.
Wow, this is such a weird sounding product! But then if it does the job, it doesn't matter.
hahah ive never heard of a product like this! i may have to pick something like it up! "anorexic eyebrows!" :P
this souinds perfect for someone like me! my eyebrows have different shapes- one is a little more rounded, and the other more sharp.

i love this
hahah! Anorexic eyebrows
I over-plucked my eyebrows in middle/high school and have been regretting it ever since. Some spots just do not want to grow back, so I've had to fill them in for the past ten years. That 30 seconds a day sounds insignificant, but I feel like I'm being held prisoner by my eyebrow pencil/powder! I can't leave without doing them every morning...I don't even care if my hair is brushed before I leave or if I have unconcealed zits on my face, but my eyebrows are another story!

OH MY GOD I neeed!!!!
