SKINN! LUXE WATERPROOF EYELINER!

Meg here! So there are lots of perks of running megsmakeup.com! Hearing all of your humor and brilliance is completely the best reason. Hands down! After that there's a whole other list of reasons. One of them is finding out about new lines. The company Skinn was totally new to me until they sent some samples of their Wet Lips Super Shine Gloss As you can see from the reviews, everyone loved them.
I was so excited when I went to the mail and saw that Skinn had sent us their Luxe Waterproof Eyeliner! I looked over the materials and read how it had shea butter and peptides, ingrediants to make for a smooth application and not crease into dry skinn
I went with the deep black and decided this was a great In My Purse Cosmetic case item! No sharpener needed. I usually hate those twist up tubes-I inadvertantly always end up breaking them and the product is wasted! This is a much higher quality twist up then some of my drugstore deal trys and the price is so reasonable! $9.50 for a top quality liner! YAY!
I used it last night and this morning (Bad Meg!! Didn't wash her face) It's still in place. It also doesn't pull, just glides on really smoothly.
After working for 20 years at big cosmetic companies, Skinn's founder, Dmitri James was really frustrated. This, in his own words, is pretty interesting...
When I launched Skinn in 2002 the question most asked was "How are you going to do it Dimitri? How are you going to give us more products, better products, and keep them at a comparable price?" The answer was really quite simple. After working at the highest levels of the big cosmetics houses, I learned that the money they spend does not go into the product. In fact, it seems to go everywhere but the product: ad campaigns, department store counter space, Park Avenue offices, and, most of all, packaging. Believe it or not, most companies spend more money on the container and fancy boxes than on the product that's inside. I used to sit in meetings in those Park Avenue offices to talk about how to improve the company's products. Those meetings always seem to end the same: "Let's change the packaging." Upgrading the product was always deemed too costly as it would require re-educating the consumer about what constitutes a quality product. In essence the secret would be out that water does not have to be the first ingredient in every product.
I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for a pretty package. I'm not Emperor's New Clothes though. No matter how cool the tube-if it doesn't work, it's out!

Bad Meg indeed! Always take off the makeup before you sleep. But it is fascinating to know this little darling of a wand delivers a liner with such staying power. It's really good, especially if you like to underline, as I do. I'll happily look for more from this line.
I'm a BIG UD eyeliner fan and so this stuff had some super stiff competition but I must say it held its own as far as staying power goes. It goes on smooth and creamy and stays put. Its a great basic black. My UD black has a bit of pearl to it and this is more of a 40's babe flat black which I love for a night out. Also...I tend to jump in my pool a lot during the summer months working outside (I keep a swimsuit on under my clothes when I work outside) and I need a good waterproof for my dips. Can't wait to give it a whirl when the temp rises. I live in the No Cal Valley so it won't be long now! Great line Skinn...keep it up as quality women WANT quality product. And we here at Megs are smart enough to spot the imitators. Bravo!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
I LOVE this line, the lipgloss is still my "go to" for those Angelina lips...nothing else is quite as shiny and people always ask "What are you wearing?" when I have it on.This is a killer eyeliner pencil, period! Glides on and you think,"Naw...it's too soft and smooth to stay put" but it DOES and it's in my go-everywhere Hello Kitty bag so I can swipe it on anytime and place! I think Dimitri is spot-on in this economy by offering FABULOUS products that WORK without the 20 dollars worth of insets and fancy boxes and by delivering amazing formulas that do the job.One of the few pencils that work in the waterline as well(inside of lower lid)without any irritation and holds well.I love that look but not when black starts sliding down my face. It's a winner for me and I'm a big fan of SKINN!You'll be hitting up the Apoteke jar today Miz Meg! Nothing clears "Gee I had to have hot monkey sex right away and left my makeup on overnight" skin like their mask does,LOL!
I love this stuff! I have been using liquid/gel eyeliner for so long now that I have gotten used to it being complicated and time consuming to put on my eyeliner but I tried this one day and I may never go back! It does not smudge, goes on easier than any eyeliner I have ever used (it has a very thin point) and has a great color to it. Two thumbs up!
This is a terrific eyeliner! I got mine in Rich Black, and it seems a bit different than the typical black. Very intense and deep, made my baby brown's pop if I do say so m'self. It went on really well, and had great staying power. Like Katehrm777, I found it terribly easy to use, always a plus in my book. I LOVE companies that have their priorities in check. After reading what Skinn's founder Dimitri had to say about the choices the big cosmetic houses repeatedly make, I would find something to love from his line even if I didn't like his fabulous eyeliner. Savvy women like ourselves seriously need to get the message out that we are going to spend our hard earned coin on products made by people like Dimitri. We need to support this line of thinking if we ever want to see it become mainstream. Come ladies, it's time for a makeup revolution, let's start with Skinn........
I'm not a big fan of lip gloss, but I love a great eye liner. I agree with you Meg about the "twiist-up" liners always breaking the tip off, that really irks me! So I am all about trying a smooth, easy application,non-creasing, water proof eye-liner!! WTG Skinn
I know I have mentioned that I just don’t like to use black eyeliner and since I just turned 61 (somebody kill me!) this month, I’m telling you, black eye liner just doesn’t give me the soft look I’m going for! More like Harsh Hannabelle the Hag! However, of course I had to test this marvelous eyeliner out and…I was very impressed! It went on smooth and I actually was able to create, in one try, a nice attractive eyeliner line (as I have mentioned – my eye liner lines are usually outside of the nice eye lines we all have!) on the first try!! Amazing for me! I think I’d really love this liner in dark brown because it really created a line that compares to the lines I make using my best brush and eye liner color (on good eye liner days)! Once more it’s affordable with nice ingredients! I would definitely tell all my girlfriends to try it and I think they would all like it a lot! My girlfriends are all young vital women - heaven knows why they all hang with me - but they do! I think it has something to do with all the laughing we do together! Laughter has no age barriers!
Jeanasina!
I found this eyeliner to work beautifully. Easy to put on, long lasting, you can smudge it for smoky look without wiping it off. I was impressed. I rate this as a must buy.

this eyeliner is amazing. i have such a hard time finding the "perfect" black eye liner. i love the intensity of the color.
I've been a fan of maybelline's unstoppable eyeliner FOREVER but I've been looking to switch it up a bit. I think I'm going to give this one a try. Thanks!

I love waterproof eyeliner. It does a really good job of making my eyes pop.
this may be a good solution to my extra oily eyelids. if they only made waterproof eye shadows. sigh....
Meg for sure take off your makeup. I"m not judging you though. I know we have all had nights were we were too tired. or dare I say it.......too inebriated from all of those cocktails to take our makeup off. I too have fallen victim to this. But falling asleep with your makeup on is the perfect test of quality. if you fall asleep and wake up the next day and your makeup still looks freshly applied, then my ladies you have a darn good product! I have never tried waterproof eyeliner, but this one sounds super great. If it withstood a whole night, then it gets my vote.
i haven't tried this brand and hope to come across it in a storei always try to take off makeup before sleep, but if I somehow can't, i try to do my best with a baby wipe - half off sounds better no?

This sounds like a really great liner. I am going to try it and then will report back. For emergency cleaning I really recommend the CVS brand moist wipes for Makeup Remover and Cleansing. Really work well, gets off eye makeup and really leaves your skin soft. And clean. Great for those nights you just need to cut some time off your normal routine.
this is exactly what I need. I have yet to find a black dark eyeliner that will not fun, smudge, or make you look like a raccoon. Will def purchase this..
