FHI! HEAT T-REX STYLING CLIPS!

Wed, 04/15/2009 - 9:37am

  • Hair

FHIMeg hair! Ha! Hump day's got me a little bit batty today.
Let's just cut to it, the FHI T-Rex Clips are not for me! Well, so I thought. My previous experience has been "professional hair clips" sliding down my head. Thank-you very much baby fine hair!

On the other end of the specrtrum, I wondered how the heck did you ladies with actual hair get the clips to hold all of it while you worked?
Divide it into sections while flat-ironing, curling, blow-dry-you name it! When Megken was at Marco Pelusi having his hair cleaned up I noticed Marco had these-in red. FHI makes all sorts of professional grade products and when your see that the top hair artists in town are using their products...Let's just say I was happy it was just one of the amazing items I was going to get to introduce to our ladies! Yup, a pair of these amazing clips were in our Megsmakeup goody bags.

They didn't fall out of my hair while I sectioned off to curl! They felt pretty snug and when it came time to take them out there was absolutely no pull!

We're all busy and there is a reason that FHI is found in all the top salons. They make hair time so much faster. HAIRSTYLISTS I hope you're ready to order these for your clients!

I just want all of the goodies that the professionals have because, like clockwork two things always happen to me.
1. The day I go in for my hair to be styled, cut, etc. I always have the best hair day leaving my house for the appointment. It's just Murphy's Law.
2. By the same token I am never going to get my hair looking that amazing on my own when I leave the salon. Ever.

I'm guessing these T-rex clips are really going to be a Godsend for ladies with thick hair bitches I mean wonderful women that I'm not in the least bit jealous of!

Ladies, how did your FHI T-Rex Styling Clips work for you?

Meg, I adore these!  First of all, I am always on the lookout for something to keep my hair out of my face while washing up, and especially when applying or rinsing off masques.  My previous go-to product was the Tassi Hair Band, which really does the job well, but it has one big drawback: I get a little crimp at the hair line that lasts when the band comes off.  When these supersized red wonders arrived I thought, "could it be?"  And the answer is a resounding, "you bet."  Of course they work beautifully as sectioning tools for blow drying and flat ironing, but for me their primary duty is to get my fine hair way off my face without distorting my 'do.  As an added bonus, I find that when I clip all of my front-of-the-ear hair back to my crown for my daily ablutions, when un-clipped my hair has a nice little boost in volume.  Supercool!

Yup yup yup. Love 'em. Mine are red and look like lobster claws. That has nothing to do with anything. They just do. My sometimes curly/ sometimes straight hair has two distinct sides of the cabinet. Products for straightening, products for curling. Accessories for gathering thin, poker straight hair, accessories for holding back my big fat lioness mane (yes, I know lioness don't have manes. My poetic license isn't suspended). Since the hinge 'n teeth system on these babies accommodate my bipolar locks either way, I guess I'm glad they come two to a package. One for either side of the cabinet.

These are fugly, funky, and they work like little red (in my bag) demons to hold those wayward locks so one can whip or bake the rest of your hair into submission!I have very fine hair too Miz Meg although so far,I still have a good amount of it and honestly, always end up with crop-circles in the back because I'm just too impatient with my red Chi iron and try to hurry the smoothing-process clipping back huge hunks and hoping for the best...using the wonderful comb and these clips I can now do what "she" aka my stylist does and leave the house with silky-smooth hair!Husband died laughing when he saw them on my vanity and of course, immediately assumed they were some sort of "toy" from which he could benefit...rolls eyes here...I LOVE my T Rex toys and they're mine all mine Mister!

Me too Fiche! I have bipolar hair too.  When I let my hair dry naturally and use curl enhancing products I look like a lioness with a mane. But, when I blow dry and flat iron it never looks like I have enough hair, bizarre. It's feast or famine ladies, always feast or famine.  I guess fine hair is funny like that.  Like Meg, these FHI T-Rex Clips are the first of their kind to work for me. I guess that's because they are so not typical "of their kind" in so many respects. Especially nice for us fine haired maidens, we are often overlooked when it comes to these types of products. My bff Jodi used mine the other day when we did our Apoteke masks and they worked just as beautifully on her thick, straight, super short hair.  I love a product that delivers on a one size fits all mentality, and boy do these hungry lookin' babies deliver. Guess what girls? I just got back from watching two live tapings of the Dr. Phil show.  My friend Kara got us in and we got to sit in the front row for both shows.  A really fun experience and we're pretty sure they're going to hit us up for the next big, Reality T.V. hit, "The Real Housewives of Apple Valley"........... What? It could happen.

I have superthick curly hair and use these to keep my hair out of my face when doing a mask or washing at night.  The real test will be when I do my roots!  These work much better than regular (fashion) hair clips and I think their funky look make me all the more funky.  ;)

I have very thick hair with tons of curl, now and then I like to blow-dry my hair out and the biggest PIA was keeping the sections sectioned off so that I could get nice sleek results, well after reading the positive results I am digging out my credit card and ordering myself some of these wonderful hair clips!!!

These are so great! As someone who straightens their hair every time they wash it and was always struggling with putting my hair in sections as it would crimp (especially after having a hot iron right on it) or fall out, these have cut my straightening time way down.  I highly recommend these for making curling/blow drying/ straightening like a million times easier.

I was absolutely delighted with these magnificent T-rex clips!  They were one of the first things to catch my eye in the hot pink bag of highly prized items Meg sent to me!  I got red ones! These are AWESOME!  The first thing I did with them is used them to hold my hair out of my eyes when I went out into my yard to fill my birdfeeders!  I grabbed them right out of the bag without hesitation and immediately used them to clip back my ever maddening bangs! They stayed put and held my bangs back like a charm while I trudged around the yard!  My then boyfriend at the time, came outside to see what I was up to and said “What do you have there in your hair dear?” I said “These are the COOLEST clips ever!  They are dinosaur clips!”  He said “That’s nice dear.” and went back into the house. I have used them numerous times to hold my separated hair in clumps when I use my hairdryer on extremely patient days to dry one section at a time and then again 20 minutes later for when I use the follow-up flat-iron, one painstakingly tedious section at a time!  They hold my clumps in place and they don’t leave branding-iron indents!  I laughed out loud at the end of Meg’s review here “bitches” and at MsRed’s ‘cropcircles’ – totally true with the patterns that various untalented clips leave in our hair!  Hysterical commentary!  I often get to work thinking my mane is looking particularly sleek and when I go into the bathroom to put my brush to the current state of bus riding windblown hair I am having, I first get out my teeny little piece of dangerous mirror that I carry in my purse (the handle part and mirror holding part broke a long time ago) so I just carry the dangerous mirror piece…anyway…I’ll turn around to look and there is a HUGE dent in the back of my head where that particular section of hair was held by a traitor clip!  Can you say “Blasted bastard silver clip scourge?”  The T-rex clip wouldn’t do that to me!  Anyway…these T-rex clips work also for holding hair out of your face when washing it, masking it up, or even when you need to have your face completely void of stray hairs so you can apply your mime make-up for when you go out on the mall to earn some extra cash during this recession!  All those that love these say “Yes!” and the crowd roars!!!!

Jeanasina!

Hi! After reading this review I knew I had to have some! I mean I really need something more refined to hold my hair back every night when I wash my face. (I was using a giant butterfly clip that was well, thirty years too young for me and way too tacky). So I clicked on 'Buy them here' and now I've got them here with me, and I'm loving them. They are great!By the way, when I was in ‘Sally's Beauty Supply’ I spotted a package of these clips. They call them "Croc clips". I picked up a pack from there too. Now I can't have too many of these babies! Anybody need a butterfly clip? I'm not using it anymore! :-)

I hate my hair! I only looks nice when I'm not going anywhere and just planning on spending the day inside. In the same way, should I have any plans my hair frizzes up. I don't heat style often so I wouldn't use these.
