DOCTOR T'S SUPERGOOP!

Sun, 04/12/2009 - 10:45am
  • Goddess Granny
  • Body

Goddess Granny here who is sick to death of all the gloom and doom! Yes, we all know "things" could be better but honestly, I for one was starting to actually stress on a daily basis about things over which I have no control and have decided to turn it around and be thankful and to enjoy the beautiful things and people I have in my life! It's officially SPRING and not only can we get those white shoes ready to rock,we can go outside with a picnic basket, something yummy to drink, a bit of bread and wine, and if one doesn't have a special person to share the light and laughter with, you can wear something a bit skimpy now without freezing now so off with that cardy and lets go out and play in the SUN!

My numero-uno bit of advice for any/all of you who want to stay as supple and gorgeous as a Spring Chicken is to stay out of the sun...but...you just said to go out and play in it???

That's why I am a HUGE advocate of sunscreens: I will agree that initially, the zinc-y,cake-y, nasty-smelling ones on the market were absolutely less than and who wanted to smear THAT crap on a beautifully cleansed face? They've come a long way baby and I am currently loving the one in the "gift bag designed for angels" that cam to me from Miz Meg named "Doctor T's Supergoop!" When you finish rolling your eyes and giggling, let me chat it up a bit for you and you will become a believer:model-gorgeous Holly Thaggard teamed up with her super-doc Dad in law to create the ultimate (to my way of thinking!) way to prevent skin cancer starting at the earliest possible age that would be easy, incredibly effective, and most of all fun for everyone to get in the habit of using every single day!

I am in awe because they've managed to come up with not only a formula that's creamy, light, and non-greasy but also one that is FREE of all those nasty chemicals so many have. An organic and eco-friendly formula that feels like a luxury cream when you apply it because it also contains beneficial vitamins and nutrients to insure the continuing health of your skin! Unlike most sun protection out there,it's safe for the smallest of kids so you can get them using it right from the get go! (I wish we had been taught to cover up, seriously...we used to later up with baby oil and iodine and BAKE...OMG.)

It comes in a variety of options, all reasonably priced, from a "quick stick" that's perfect for on the go protection to a honkin' wall-mounted 52oz. version for the bathouse or pool area...everything in this line is edited and efficient and they're getting RAVE reviews!

We have all heard the stories of  how invasive and persitant skin cancer can be so  rather than have one more "thing" to worry about,I totally believe that this is the BEST product in my beautiful pink goodie-bag of love! Might not be the most glam or the most coveted but let me tell you,it's amazing and I also LOVE that I can flip the cap with one hand and decorate myself even while speeding down the highway in my convertible as well as smear a loving glob on anyone in the passenger seat, LOL!

This is seriously good stuff and although I'm not sure it was "intended" as a perfect base for makeup adding an SPF of 30!I find it's wonderful and has NO ill effects on my uber-sensitive skin! Much better than the sticky "baby formulas" I've had to use for years and so much cooler.

Start a new habit and introduce your skin to Parsol 1789,the terriffic sun-block in Dr. T's...every cell on your body will thank you, you'll get a LOT fewer wrinkles as the years go by.The peace of mind you will have knowing you are kicking one potential "nasty" to the door is priceless! I'm not asking you to give up any of those "aging" habits that many of us have, just add one new one to your routine and use sunscreen every single day.

You'll thank me when you too are a "Goddess Granny" and not a wrinkled crone. There's enough out there to get us so let's fight back where we can!

Buy it here and go out the door beautiful, skipping happily, and SAFE! :

Hear! Hear! Goddess Granny!  We all need a break and letting the sun wash over us (with SPF 30, of course!) will make us all feel a little better, a little brighter! This simple yet profound product is going to change everything about the way my family and myself protect ourselves from the sun.  Having young children and severely sensitive skin can really limit your sunscreen options. I can use Doctor T's Supergoop! with zero negative side effects.  My face is not red or on fire.  Almost immediately after I applied my Supergoop! my face felt smooth, with a satiny finish and despite the name, completely goop-free.   It wears beautifully under makeup and feels just as great on my entire body.  In fact, I like it as much, maybe even more than my every day lotion.  Great lotion AND sun protection? I thought that was just an "urban legend".  We are talking serious moisturizing qualities.  If you check out the website, you will find straight forward and logical explanations on topics like the difference between UVA and UVB and why SPF 30 and SPF 50 are so similar, yet so different.

We all know that it is much easier to prevent a problem than it is to fix one. Doctor T's Supergoop! is prevention at its best. In fact, this might even inspire more preventive care.....sunscreen today.....pap smear and dental appointment tomorrow..........

I am always on the hunt for a non-greasy, non-stinky, and non-sticky sunscreen. As a fair skinned gal, I can't live without it. And now for a fun story. Last April I had a drawing class (a 1pm class), and we had to go outside for about an hour and a half to draw the canal in downtown Indy. After a half an hour or so, I thought to myself "MAN! It's so warm out here in the sun. I'm  burning up!". Well, once we got back into the building, my friend pointed out that my neck was beet red from being burned (I couldn't feel any pain yet, I just felt warm). What made it even worse was that I was wearing a 3/4 sleeved hoodie, so I had a weird, uneven burn line on my neck, and only my left forearm was burned. I looked like a splotchy fool! I had to wear long-sleeved shirts for like two weeks until everything evened back out. Ever since then I  always keep a little tube of sunscreen in my purse!

I love the non greasy feel of this sunscreen.  Growing up when putting Coppertone so you could really really tan has left me with sun damage.  It amazing seeing the damage under black light.  I highly recommend every one wear sunscreen.  Having one that doesn't clog your pores makes this one an excellent choice.  I recommend this product as a buy.

It was Sunday afternoon, and I thought I would ruin the end of a perfect day by mowing my frontyard. I hate using sunscreen but I knew I would burn if I didn’t. I usually just hold my breath, apply the sunscreen spray all over my face, and then run to an “aerosol free” area and take in a deep breath. Why? It’s fast, I’m lazy, and my hands stay clean. But then Stylemama handed me a tube of Doctor T’s Supergoop! I didn’t wash my face first, so it went directly on my already oily skin. But I was soon surprised that my skin absorbed the sunscreen almost instantly. No constant rubbing needed to prevent that, “What’s that white crap on your face?” question. And it wasn’t gritty, sticky, or oily. I rubbed the rest into my hands, and within a minute or two, it was absorbed there as well. I mowed the yard and was happily surprised to report no burning eyes, no dripping lotion, and no “lawn debris” stuck to my face. My face felt clean and wasn’t sticky. I haven't ever found a sunscreen this good. I will no longer hate using sunscreen. On to Dr. T's Supergoop! sunscreen stick.

So, it has taken me this long to work my way down to this wonder from the depths of my bottomless pink bag of Megalicious goodies, but I just know my skin is going to thank me all year long for my perseverance.  This is a wonderful find, non-greasy, non-oily, non-irritating -- all the non's I look for in a sunscreen plus the happiness of being able to multitask it into an under-primer cream.  I'm all for protection, but the thought of adding yet another layer of something before I layer on my foundation always tempts me to skip the SPF step -- bad Tante!  Dr. T's stops me from misbehaving, and my fair skin -- already paying for a youth misspent and unprotected -- is loving it already.

I am in love with Supergoop! It's become my go-to face sunblock for everyday (hiking and beach days I use my SPF 75 Neutrogena, though). It's lightweight, absorbs SUPER quickly, and hasn't exacerbated my current breakouts. I tend to get oily quicker with a lot of sunscreens, but not this one! Plus, it's SPF 30 and not SPF 15- total bonus, since I've got that super-pale skin. Skin cancer runs in my family like high cholesterol runs in others (my father has had 4 spots of basal cell skin cancer removed, and most of my siblings have had at least one suspicious mole removed. My brother even had to have surgery on his face because of basal cell skin cancer), unfortunately, and this just makes it that much easier to protect myself. <3 Thanks Meg for introducing me to this wonderful product!

I have been waiting for a full-out blazing sun day in order to slather my body up with this and then go start raking all the dead-ass leaves out of the garden while challenging the sun to try to penetrate through this 30 spf strength sun screen and it just isn't happening for me during the time I'm actually not at work!  So,I tried this Supergoop on just to see what it's like and I agree, it leaves your skin smooth rather than tacky or sticky as some sunscreens tend to do! The fragrance is almost non-existent - definitely not unpleasant and just gives a hint of some soft scent that shouldn't bother anybody within a close radius of your sun-loving body!  I have allergies and occasionally things trigger my asthma.  Heavy thick flowery perfumes etc. will get my eyes to itching and my nose to itch violently to the point that I make this horrible noise within my nose and throat trying with all my might to relieve the inside itch and when that happens I'm told it is NOT flattering in the least!  Anyway I put this skin softening Supergoop on my skin and did a full-out nose immergence and it's totally pleasant and there are no maddening urges to itch anything..so all is good on that front too!  I can't wait to try it out in the sun as I spend as much time as possible every weekend working on my garden and feeding the birds and swinging on my garden swing!  I love the spring and summer inmy backyard!  I do have one question that I wish could get addressed concerning sun protection products!  I used to just keep my sun protection screen container and bring them out year after year after year and never though twice about it.  Recently I heard that you should only use it for one year and then toss it because the protection factor will no longer be working once the tubes of product get old!  Is this true???  Does anybody know the answer?  How long CAN you keep your sunscreen and have it till be potent!  P.S.  My husband just came in the room where I am writing and smelled my Supergoop body parts and said "It's powdery smelling like baby powder." So there you have it from the nose of my constant male companion!

This sounds like a really good sunscreen.  I don't usually use sunscreen that much.  I'm all for looking young as long as I can, but I have my own theories about the sun.  I love being outside.  But if I ever need a good sunscreen I will try this out.

I've gotten a couple of unfortunate sunburns already this year.  But I jumped on the bandwagon and started applying Dr. T's before going out in the sun, while getting my bathing suit on.  It really is waterproof and it stays on...it is NOT greasy at all and it really works!  A++++ And $11 for the flip-top tube is a nice price!

Sunscreen is so important, but sometimes it's just to nasty to put on. What a great product is this, to make you feel GOOD about putting it on and it having great future benefits.
