MARK! FLIP FOR IT SPRING COLOR KIT!

Meg! here filling in for our dear Gigi! You know how I totally went crazy for the mark's dew drenched lipstick ? Well, The Flip For It Spring color Kit has me doing back handsprings.
Money is tight. Even in Beverly Hills, yesterday I was at the post office mailing out some goodies and a lady approached me. She had been hired by the Aveda salon down the street to walk up and down and offer new clients 90% OFF! The scary part of this story is that there were at least 6 women in llne with me that heard her pitch and no one went for it! This is a little bit frightening!
Goddess Granny sent me a funny saying a couple weeks back "When the economy is bad the only things that boom are salons and saloons!"
I think that makes total sense, except for my post office experience and my neighborhood watering hole. Steps from my front door is my friendly neighborhood bar Crown Bar . It's not exactly a saloon but it hasn't exactly been packed lately. I can't remember the last time I saw more then two tables with bottle service going on. The land of the $12 drink is even getting hit!
I'm not trying to depress you! It's almost Friday!Turn that frown upside down!
mark's Flip For It! Spring Color Kit! Has Seven products for $20. A mirror and a super handy mirror! If you just had a tube of mascara in your purse, this kit is all you would need for all day touch-ups!
We were lucky enough to have Los Angeles in our launch goody bag and it is fabulous! The colors are earthy and would look great on anyone, it just takes out all of the guesswork. Any makeup newbie will look a pro!
Just flip it over and there are the colors for your kisser! All in one!
I'm totally loving this mark line! So is my bottom line!
Ladies! What do you think about mark! Flip For It! Spring Color Kit?

I believe my kit is named "Sydney"...have to get those rhinestone-encrsted readers out,LOL! Really pretty shades of bronze and gold with a peachy-blush,well-coordinated for sure!I had a bit of trouble with the "flippy-feature",he compact allows you to switch from eyes/cheeks to lips with a flip and I kept sticking my fingernail into the gloss...then of course,it smeared on my white shirt! HA! I agree that applicators would be a plus although I found the shades to be blendable with a fingertip...honestly I prefer a bit more pigment in my lippies but for portability, this ROCKS! Overall,I think MARK is a great value for the price and offers up to the minute colors for a song!
This is such a godsend for those of us who want to travel light. With my coloring, Los Angeles and a travel sized mascara will make making up a breeze on the go, whether it's across the country or only across town to the office. The colors are terrific, and once dense moi figured out that the 'flip" in the name meant more goodies on the flip side of the case, I was entranced. The blush is a yummy coral, and the lip colors smooth on over my decadent $30 Kaplan MD lp balm. Blendable, layer-able and just plain adorable.
Mark is the younger, hipper sister company of Avon. You can order Mark from the Avon site or at it's own site, meetmark.com, and like Avon they have great sales. I had bought a handful of these handy little compacts a while ago and paid $12. I was impressed with the flipping mechanism allowing you to carry so much in such little space, about 2" X 2".I was a bit disappointed in the staying power of the colors. The colors went on beautifully, easily blendable and looked wonderful for a few hours, but at about half way through my day, I had to redo my eyes. I would think Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion or other similar products might help this little problem. Comments from my teen age nieces, who got one of these tucked in their spring break packages, were "WE LOVE IT" "COLORS ARE PERFECT" "LOVE THE GLOSS" "HANDY" "MY FRIENDS ARE SO JEALOUS" From teenagers you couldn't get a better review.I would rate this as a buy especially for the younger crowd. For those who have to work all day and then still look fresh when you get off work, this may not be the best for you. But...for the price and convenience, it is worth trying with an eye lid primer.

I was so thrilled to receive this kit in "Sydney". The colors are really beautiful. I feel like they certainly evoke the feeling of Australia. The colors have a bronze yet natural feeling to them. They would be flattering for most everyone. The kit includes 4 lip colors, 2 eye colors, and 1 blush. It also has a built in mirror. It is very sturdy. I am not worried about it breaking or opening in my bag. Everything in the kit wears well. It looks good and feels good on. The kit only has two down sides. It can be difficult to "flip". I got my finger in the gloss at least once until my husband showed me a little trick for opening it. He said to only flip it from the side closest to you, not the mirror. I haven't got my finger in it since. The only other downside is that no applicators were included. That would have made this a perfect buy. But I love this kit! I would not hesitate to buy it or recommend it to anyone. For the quality and quantity of items included in this kit, it is well worth it!
My cousin sell for Avon and just said the same as Sharond, that it's more for the younger crowd. She said she hardly sell any Mark products except to the teenagers. But I just order my Drew drench lipstick :) And would probably give this product a try to. The price is right!
This thing is amazing. I recently shot a video that focused on beauty deals and the facialist that I interviewed spoke about the necessity and beauty of multi-purpose products. Mark's lip color palette as well as their eye shadow and blush are pretty much amazing and purse-friendly. I love that I can just throw this into my little purse and I don't need anything else to touch up my makeup.Good find, Meg!
You girls are ringing my bell! I’m so glad to hear you like Mark too! I'm 38 years old and used all high end department/boutique makeup before I started using Mark. I became a rep just so I could get the discount. I have a few key "luxury" items that I can't live without like Dior SkinFlash, etc., but now for the most it's Mark. They have a new genius Hookup product called mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer. It's a thick concealer pencil. It's perfect for getting into those hard to reach areas under the eye. After a long day on the computer at work, I freshen up my eyes with this hookup concealer pencil, Scandalash mascara hookup and the hookup lip gloss color of the day. I'm good for hitting the happy hour. All of these products are the size of 2 ball point pens. They are always in my purse.
I hope I haven’t stepped on anyone’s toes for mentioning that I sell Mark. I do give out samples, so message me if you are interested in trying something.
I love it....I want it....I am crazy for these little kits with everything under one lid. I am always on the go and if it can fit in my purse it's make-up I can use it makes me soooo happy!!
I need to add an addendum to my review. I tried the Mark eye shadows with a primer and it solved the problem of not lasting. My skin is very dry and with the primer, the shadows went on beautifully and lasted all day and well into the night.I now rate this as a must buy...excellent deal for the price.

I have been buying Avon products for years. Mark is geared more for the younger crowd, but I have to say, being a woman over 40-I love Mark products. Get this, they have clothes and bags as well that are fashionable and affordable. I actually bought a girly ruffled top and love the color (cantaloupe) and feel of the material. Staying with the makeup theme, my favorite Mark product is the eye exotics, it is pallette of 3 coordinating shades. Goes on smooth, last long and always get compliments when I wear it. A keeper

Totally love these palettes, guys. TOTALLY LOVE. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to keeping my makeup with me at all times. I need to have a full face in my purse, "just in case". This has saved me a ton of room! I actually discovered these in the beginning of the school year. See, my university has this great things where you can use financial aid for anything in the bookstore, and one of the things in the bookstore is... MARK! I grabbed two of these- Sydney and South Beach- and I was SO excited to get a backup of Sydney in my kit! I love the colors, blendability, and staying power of the eyeshadows (I do use my UD primer under them) and the blush is pretty close to HG for me- it gives me this perfect pop of color without being too overwhelming (which some blushes can be), and it lasts! I love the palettes and, paycheck permitting, I will be ordering the spring kits too!
I was thrilled to receive this in Sydney. I have never used Avon products -- I must say that I am quite impressed. The shimmery and matte earth tones (terracottas, browns and golds) are so natural-looking, versatile, and easily blendable. The packaging is so darn clever -- it is great to have 7 products in one neat little case. I can just pop it in my purse and go. Like kellie76, it took me a few minutes to figure out the "flipping" mechanism. I also agree that it would be great if they could figure out how to add some applicators to the case (wishful thinking, I know!). Overall, a great product!!
I am one reviewer a.k.a. average woman, who clearly must have spent a lot of time using red kool-aid for lipstick and cheek color and log cinders for eye shadow because there are SO many brands I am clueless about and mark. is just another one I hate to admit that I haven't heard of until I received products to review. There was a proud moment for me the day the mark. compact came to me though because, single handedly, without the usual aid of a diagram, instruction packet or me handing something over to my husband and saying "Will you figure this out for me?" I opened the compact up and immediately figured out how to flip it over! Score one for the old lady! I was puzzled though, thinking.. "Where are the applicators?" "Do you use your fingers for everything?" It was then I looked at the instructions but they did not indicate that there was any applicators nor where there any instructions telling me what was in each of the 7 small squares of the mark. product and where or how I should use each one! It never ever occurred to me to look on the bottom of the compact to see what was in the squares! I just now accidently saw the flip for it color info on the bottom - I have used this several times since I got it and never saw the bottom! Dude! Am I the only woman who doesn't look at the bottom of bottles, packages, compacts? I guess it's like the shoe thing...I'd buy shoes but I never would look at or care about the bottom of the shoes as long as the rest of the shoe rocked my boat! I am HUGE on reading directions before I use stuff (total oppositite of a typical guy) but I want to know what the intended use is supposed to be and exactly how to use it! Later if I choose to deviate and use things differently than the intended purpose, so be it! I like exact directions like...'Place a small amount of color on your favorite eye shadow applicator. Carefully glide the applicator..." You get my drift! I will always follow the directions, at least the FIRST time I try something new! So I was looking for those kinds of directions. The compact has a really usable nice sized mirror! The color kit I got was called Sydney. The two lip colors did nothing for me - pretty much non-existent color (probably better on younger lips). The glosses were pretty nice - not too sticky or tacky, gave a nice natural little moist look to your lips without being over the top done up! Your lips look kisseable instead of like lips that nobody would dare mess up! The shadows are too sparkly for me but they are pretty colors. The blush gives the blush of a young fresh girl - that's nice! It's really quite fantastic that all these products are within one suprising compact! That right there gives mark. extra points in the desirable department!
Jeanasina!
I just got my hot little hands on the Mark Flip thing in Sydney, and I love it! There are shades in there that I wouldn't normally think would work on me, but they sure do. Who knew? The eyeshadows go on nicely, especially over primer. The blush gives me a nature pop, and don't even get me started on the lip colors. No really, don't get me started because I will just not shut up! The palette is so cute, little, efficient, and will be my new security blanket in my purse.

so sad to say i have yet to get one of these compacts but what i have heard and seen from them....i need one!!!

As is Michelle (posted above) I am a mark rep also. I was excited when I got this kit in Sydney. Seriously? How many brands have blush, shadow, lipstick and gloss in one thing that's so portable? I also have the mark mini brush set to go with it. Much easier to carry around two things versus a whole purse full. The Sydney kit is filled with lovely bronze colors. Perfect for fall or even to get that beach goddess look in the summer.
i've always wanted to try stuff from mark looks great. thanks for the post haha who knows maybe i'll even become a mark rep someday :)
All of the mark products I have tried have been fabulous quality. For everyday use i don't really like palettes that much. Call me crazy, but makeup is therapeutic for me. Sometimes I like to do my makeup as I relax and have to dig through piles of makeup to find that eyeshadow or lipgloss I'm looking for. Other times I like to have everything right at hand, like when I would wake up 30 minutes before class, and have to do everything in a hurry. I've been wanting to try these. I also love all in one palettes for my photo shoots. It makes everything including touch ups faster. I love how these flip around too.
i just fell in love with the tokyo
ooh, the los angeles one looks gorgeous! i have one of these fall 2008 palletes and it is pretty good, i don't use any of the lip colors, but the blush and eyeshadows are pretty good quality for the price. i'm looking forward to the new palletes that come out!! maybe i should start selling mark :D
Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE mark. products! I own this FFI as well as 8 others. You could say I'm a bit obsessive about them! This palette has been perfect for the spring and rolled right into summer as well! The deep purple can also become a fall color. I love how versatile this FFI is. It is small enough to fit into your purse yet will last for months and months. I believe the eyeshadows and blush are italian baked - meaning they will hold pigmentation better. I don't understand why mark. is considered a 'drugstore' brand as it is only available through representatives like myself (http://kristendavis.mymarkstore.com) or through meetmark.com. Perhaps it is because of the great pricing.
I just can't wait to buy the new FFI that comes out in September. It has natural eyeshadow and blush colors. The lip colors are also pretty. You can also visit my mark store at jdove.mymarkstore.com

I love the flip for its. I haven't really tried a product from mark that I didn't like. The eye shadows and blushes are soo pigmented! And their lip colors are comparable to MAC in my opinion. I love having all these products in one b/c its such a space saver.
I agree with everything you said. This is a HUGE space saver. You get 4 lipsticks on one side and 2 shadows and a blush on the other in ONE compact. You can apply the lipsticks to where they look like a gloss are a pigmented lipstick. My one complaint is it requires a little firm pressure to scoop the lipsticks out. But all-in-all it's a great product.
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

Yeah I know what you mean LoL. When I first applied the lip gloss/color I didn't put enough on.Also.. it took me a try or 2 to flip it without getting lip gloss on my thumb ;-)

Meg, you must have been on a Mark kick a while back. As I said in another Mark review of yours, a local rep has been stuffing these catalogs in my mailbox, but I've always just thrown them out. Apparently, the joke is on me. The idea of these flip things is quite unique...I ought not have ignored the Mark gal so quickly!
