ORGANIC APOTEKE! REJUVENATING FACE MASK!

Mon, 04/06/2009 - 9:11pm
  • Green Chi Tuesdays
  • Face

Sweetassgal here tickled as pink as the new megsmakeup.com bag I received from Meg filled to the BRIM with goodie after goodie.  Honestly, I felt like my tote was the prettier second cousin of Mary Poppin's carpet bag from which the treasures are never ending!  Thanks Meg and all of the wonderful vendors who contributed to a successful re-launch for our girl.  Truly you all ROCK!

I was very blessed to spend this last weekend at the beach in Aptos, California with one of my dearest friends Andrea and her entire Bachelorette party crew.  This was a group of girls (most significantly younger than me) who know how to party and have fun...but manage to be responsible and sensible as well.  This shows in their beautiful, youthful and unspoiled skin.  Remembering back to my twenties and the skin I once had I can now see just what occurs between the wonder years of 25 to 35...and if I could give those young girls just ONE piece of advice to take to their graves it would be above all to take care of your skin.  One girl in particular named Michelle had the kind of luminous skin that I'd give my left boob for!  It was absolutely lovely and I hope she is smarter than the average girl and protects this most precious commodity.  I'm quickly learning that an organic line like Organic Apoteke would be a smart choice in defending her derma!

I've been face mask rich lately as I seem to be lucky enough to be having them gifted to me from various sources so I'm really becoming quite an expert.  There are many things I look for as I learn more and more and am consistently impressed with the Organic Apoteke line.  In Meg's bag I found a jar of the Rejuvenating Face Mask and as I always do I opened it immediately and gave a whiff.  The pleasantly and slightly citrus scent was yummy and the texture was rich and creamy.  Like the Detox Mask I reviewed earlier this increases your microcirculation and causes that "fresh face" blush.  Its loaded with ingredients that supplement collagen and elastin and leave your skin refreshed as well as fighting signs of aging.  Its a great mask to use weekly (as the Detox mask...once your skin has been thoroughly detoxified) and will go a long way because though you coat your face completely a little goes a long way.  The website says to use the night before for the perfect red carpet glow at a date the next day and I concur!  In fact I think I'll try it out again before me and my husbands next date night!

Organic Apoteke is just an amazing certified organic line and I'm always impressed with the quality of ingredients, effectiveness of application and the end results never disappoint.  If any other Megettes got it I'm super interested to hear what you think.  Until then I may just find a way to share some of this lovely concoction with Andrea and the rest of the Aptos crew to keep them fresh faced and 20's lovely!  GLAM ON!!

Ladies did you feel red carpet ready with Organic Apoteke's Rejuvenating Face Mask?

FYI- IT'S 30% OFF!!

I have to chime in that I was feeling oily and gross, I just used the Organic Apoteke Detox mask from the last time we reviewed OA and it completely cleaned out every blackhead on my nose! I am blackhead free! This line is top-notch!!

Now, I absolutely love a good mask.  They just feel so good and you always look so refreshed after you use them. You just glow!  I really liked this one too - and I certainly did glow.  But mostly I like a good purifying clay mask - it's a better remedy for my skin problems.  But this will be a good alternative if I feel muddy-complected and dull.

I had a regrettable lapse into my youth by resuming smoking lately. And I quit again. Why? Sheer and total vanity. My skin started screaming! I was looking *gasp* my age. Thank GOD this mask was in the goodie bag. It was the jumpstart my face needed to fixing the damage that was creeping in from my (ahem) minor indulgence. When applying I thought it was going to be waxy, or leave a residue, but it really left just the right amount of softness in my skin. I had forgotten what that felt like. Perfectly nourished skin. A much healthier habit!

I dont try many masks or face treatments so i was intrigued to try this one...I tried it without reading the instructions that your skin may tingle... so i was a bit nervous when i felt a slight burning sensation on my face.. ( i have super dry skin)... but i kept the mask on several minutes and when i washed off.....I wasnt sure what to expect.. but lo and behold my skin was aglow with a cherbic rosey hue....I would definitely use this mask once a week....

This is a very interesting product!  As some of you know, I have very sensitive, red, reactive skin.  When I read that this mask could cause flushing I was sure my skin would resemble a tomato for the next 24 hours. Boy, do I love being proven wrong!  Yes, upon application my skin felt very warm and tingly and did become quite red, BUT surprisingly it did not remain that way!  As the redness dissipated (about 1 hour after application) I definitely saw a glowing effect about my face.  The planes of my face looked as if they were naturally highlighted and my overall complexion was less red than it was before I put the mask on.  My pores looked smaller, causing the tone and texture of my skin to appear more smooth and radiant.  I was pleasantly surprised that this mask produced a unique combo effect, providing great hydration, while camouflaging my most problematic areas. Most importantly it did NOT aggravate any of these areas.  I love a mask that gives instant results.  This would be great to use on the morning of a special event.  You can count on a marked improvement of your complexion, allowing for superb makeup application.

No giving away bewbies here ladies, some of us have to pay for them,LOLROF! I LOVE this review and I LOVE these products!!! I totally agree about the numero-uno thing anyone young enough not to know who the Doors are needs to do is TAKE CARE of your skin! It makes a HUGE dif down the line, trust me. :)I think this line rivals some of the WAY too pricey for most mere mortals llines out there who shall remain nameless but we know they're out there taunting us.They are beautifully crafted and packaged and honestly,I'm so stuck on the "detox" mask it's goofy: any lil' bump has NO chance of lasting it I dab on a bit overnight! This one left my skin so smooth and soft...it truly is a different feel and effect although the creamy texture and light scent are similar.I'm not one who gets a glow goin' often (no offense Michael,I love ya' madly!) because I'm so damn sensitive to most stuff. These products (and line!) are on my "must have" list and I'm so delighted to have been introduced to Apotek by Miz Meg!

Oh, I hate to be the lone dissenting voice but I'm afraid this mask is too mas macho for sensitive me.  My first surprise was the very liquid texture, which I did not expect after reading the directions to apply a thick layer.  Then came the tingle, which I did expect, but not that after removal I would be left with very uneven blotching that persisted for over two hours.  I am sure its properties are beneficial for most, but for me the cost is greater than the benefit.  I am writing this slathered in a soothing layer of Creme de la Mer.

I gave this intriguing rejuvenating face mask a try tonight to see if it would make me blush as well as hydrate, firm, tone and stimulate my skin as indicated on the box! It says to apply to the face after cleansing the face with buttermilk cleanser. I do not have buttermilk cleanser or even buttermilk pancakes in the house so I had to skip that step! I will interject here that I have tried a billion cleansing products for my face and do you know what I like the best???? Extra Virgin Coconut Oil! That’s right people! Ever since I read the amazing reviews of EVCO from a long ago posting on Megs (6-30-07 review) I tried it for everything that everybody said they used it for and of all the things I tried, I found that I just love the way it takes off my makeup and leaves my skin SO soft! No eye irritation ever! I’ll have to go back and write more follow-up on that actual review subject later. So, with cleansed skin, I applied the rejuvenating face mask as thick as I could get it. The texture is rather soupy (think something between tomato soup in a can or ketchup thickness) it’s not thick, gunky or pasty like some masks so applying it thickly takes a little doing! Imagine putting Campbell’s Soup on your face! As much as you think it’s going to just slide off though - it doesn’t! It stays where you put it! It’s so thin actually that if you rub it between your fingers you can hardly feel it! Also surprising! I can’t place the fragrance it has but it reminded me immediately of times when I have gone to a nice spa for a professional facial with a licensed faceologist! That’s what I call estheticians! The fragrance smells like the real deal - like you know it’s really going to be doing something both expensive and good to your face! I took a look in the mirror before I washed this mask off and I noticed that my face looks like I’ve had a rough life (if I answered the door right now - sales people would say “NEVER MIND” and run like crazy away from my house!) The mask dries on your face of course and since you can’t ever get masks absolutely perfect on your skin, when it dries you look like you had an airbrush tanning appointment that went terribly wrong! I noticed my neck is really quite red and my face is not! Interesting! Apparently my facial skin is tough like a construction worker but my neck must be very delicate! Isn’t that nice! Well it’s later that same night now and the product has left the building called my face and…overall it seems to be a genuinely good product! My pores definitely look smooth and I have to say it’s looking like the skin on my face might be a bit smoother. My neck is still very red (looking like I was the victim of a strangulation). It’s hard to really get excited about products on my neck because even when they do their most mind-blowing magic, the resulting facial outcome might make me look 40-50 but my neck still always says I’m close to 70! I’d definitely have to say my face feels tighter and has a lovely softness! Would I say you should try this for yourself? Absolutely! And by the way…my face DOES look rather radiant tonight and the red neck syndrome has disappeared completely! I can’t wait to see how I look when I wake up in the morning!  This product definitely does something very good for your skin!

O.K., so I asked my Best Friend Jodi to try the mask and here is what happened when she used it:  (Hi Jodi!)  She has normal skin, not to dry, not to oily, some minor black heads in the nose area, and very even toned, beautiful skin.  Yes, I am a little jealous, but at least one of us has great skin!  Once she applied the mask, she noticed a bit of a warming sensation and experienced only a small amount of redness.  If anything she looked like she spent a little too much time in the sun but in a good way.  After rinsing the mask off, she noticed a very smooth tone to her skin.  She thought it was definitely hydrating because she didn't feel like she had to rush right over and apply her face cream like she normally does post-cleanse.  She also noticed a nice firming sensation.  The areas where she suffers from black heads were definitely diminished and her pores in her t-zone were quite a bit smaller giving her complexion a very smooth looking texture.  She was very happy with the results and the fact that she turned a little red was not a detterant at all.   She told me she would definitely use the mask again and would highly recommend it to a friend.  I couldn't help but notice that as she was getting ready to leave her skin kept looking better and better.  It almost seemed as if the mask had some sort of time released properties.  By the time she left I couldn't take my eyes of off her absolutely radiant, makeup free face.  Yeah, my BF is a looker and now her skin looks even prettier than before.

Meg,   First of all, I was so happy to use this product as I saw all the descriptive words of how organic and fabulous that it is.  But when it comes to face masks, I tend to be wary because they usually make my complexion all splotchy or make me break out.  So, I applied a thin layer of this face mask and it has a nice, mild smell that isn't overpowering.  After I left it on for about 20 minutes, and rinsed it off, my skin felt cleaner and more radiant.  I live in LA, where the air is smoggy and dry, so its essential that I'm always using moisturizer or face masks to keep hydrated.  Anyway, this face mask made my skin glow and maybe it was the ingredients like honey and coja oil that did the trick. I'll definitely be trying their other products!!

Ok, so I'm back!  It's hours later and I'm getting ready to go to bed and I passed the mirror in my bedroom and looked and then had to look again because I consciously thought "Wow!  Look at my skin!"  I'd have to agree with the forever lovely, stylemama's comments above...as the hours passed, the better my skin looked!  I indeed look radiant - like new bride this coming weekend radiant - and my skin looks tighter and I will say the word..'rejuvinated'!  I'm upping my appreciation of this product right now - it's really good and I AM going to use it this Friday night before my wedding so I will be a blushing radiant bride!

I just tried this face mask today and I'm a bit unsure about it. In the beginning I was a bit turned off because the little jar it comes in wasn't sealed. Maybe it's just me, but I love sealed products and I feel unsafe if they're not. Also, I like thicker masks.BUT after I took the mask off I really was glowing, so it seems like it's working pretty good!

Ok, so I have sensitive, easily "blotched" skin and I saw none of those "side effects" with this lovely mask.  I was psyched to learn that it did not dry up on my face or leave any crusty residue as some (most) masks seem to leave.  Its soft, thick, smells yum, and I have to say I did not feel the tingle that most have been describing.  I did put it on 10 minutes into my shower so maybe the steaming effect had an impact on this.  All I know is, when I washed it off, my face felt remarkably soft and noticeably more tight/firm.  Sooo...gotta buy more Organic Apoteke!

I have very dry skin, and like omfgem, I too felt a tingle.  However after I washed the mask off, my skin was wonderful.  I am not going to run myself down and say something like not as good as when I was young.  I was extremely happy with the results and recommend this product.  I can't wait to try more products from this line as the two masks I have now tried are wonderful.Must buy.

This line sounds lovely.  My skin is feeling a combination of dry and congested lately (I think I need some serious exfoliation, and some serious moisture!) and this mask sounds lovely.
