WET N WILD COSMETICS ULTIMATE EXPRESSONS EYESHADOW!

Thu, 03/05/2009 - 2:31pm
  • Drugstore Deals
  • Eyes

Gather around all you Wednesday Gigi here! Delirious Over a Delightful Drugstore Deal We all have our moments of idiocy, but I tend to have more than my share of mine. I will run through our home and call desperately to my husband, "Where's my watch? I can't find it anywhere!" He will patiently point out that I am wearing it.

Wet `n Wild Cosmetics has created a major stir in the makeup industry with inexpensive items which deliver. Their "Ultimate Expressions" shadow palettes are addictive. I am a self-confessed makeup snob. Excuse me, I was a makeup snob. Now I have repented and use affordable and efficacious makeup. In the past, I gravitated toward Christian Dior, Givenchy, Lancome

That is a segue to today's review. I strive to find cutting-edge products for the gorgeous, savvy women at Meg's, and our local drugstore hasn't updated its inventory. While primping to visit other stores, I reached for one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes before shopping and applied it, all the while concerned about what to review. Then it hit me-the palette I was using is the product which deserved a critique! (Hiding my red face here.)

tantejoan...I am SO with you on the #666 Brandy Wine WW lip liner! No matter how manypricey liners I try I ALWAYS come back to this one. I wrote a blog a while back aboutthings I would RATHER spend my money on than gas (back when the prices were crazy) andthis was on the list. Go check it out at http://insanerandomobservances.blogspot.com/and scroll down to the bottom. It's the one call "Top 10 Ways to Better Spend Gas Money"and its pretty funny I think. Feel free to read anything on that page. GO Wet andWild and thanks Gigi for reminding us ALL of a more humble time!

Love, hugs and shoes...Angie

I have bought a number of these palettes and tend to go for them because of convenience. I am always disappointed because the don't last on me. I would say I have dry eye lids and brows and that has always been a problem in keeping shadows long lasting. I think I might try some of these Wet and Wild colors with the most wonderful Hot Pants adhesive.

Hand raised high! I love these palettes, but my all-time favorite Wet n Wild product is, I suspect, everyone's else's: the 666 Lip pencil. Who knew something with such a devilish name could be so heaven-sent, but it's true. It's my perfect lip-lining aid, usually when I want to do the whole-lip fill-in, and it's the definition of You Only Better. The only thing that could make me love it more is that it is, literally, too much. Too long to fit into a makeup bag or purse, so a slughtly smaller size would be ideal. Otherwise, fantabulous.

I started out on Wet N Wild makeup and nail polish back in the day. But as soon as I started making money I switched to pricier cosmetics because I could. Its nice to know that the line is still around. I'll check it out next time I'm at CVS!

Before Meg's I was a total makeup snob. After trying a few of Gigi's suggestions I realized I had forgotten where I came from. I mean, didn't we all start on this journey by experimenting with products from Wet n Wild? On my allowance, that was all I could afford. You better believe I spent every penny on these things then too! After retracing my roots I have come to really appreciate my humble beginnings. I choose my Revlon Colorstay Shadow in coffee bean over my Mac shadows almost everyday. Of course, starting with a great primer is a must. Just think of all the great information we will one day share with the next generation of Megheads! Gigi, your wisdom is astounding and is just what we all need right now. Keep the great advice coming!

I like a lot of the Wet n Wild cosmetics. A few weeks ago I got the BeautyBenefits eye shadow and brow kit. I've been using it everday.. 3 shadow colors and 2 eyebrow colors. It even has the applicators/brushes and a mirror... very convenient and great for traveling.

I WANT that compact in the pic girl! I have daubbled in W and W from time to time, their lip pencils are really great! Not a big "shadow girl" although I can do a helluva' mean smokey eye...I think I'd enjoy playing with some colors for Spring though and in this economy,it sounds likes these compacts are the way to go!Alas, many stores are not "updating inventory" and I'm afraid there is more to come...no one can afford to keep up these days but we'll find cheap and fabulous ways to stay beautiful thanks to you girl!!!

This is a wonderful and inexpensive investment. It truly has golden goddess colors. You feel really special wearing it. I really need to get some UD primer to see if it stretches the staying power a little further. All in all these are great shadows!

I started out on W&W like everybody and I still buy the brand when I'm in a pinch and can't afford to get something pricey or if they happen to have a color I can't find from another brand. I love the palette because there are so many combos you can make out of the colors. However I tend to put things on light so I wind up throwing the palette away before the shadow even looks like it's been used. Maybe I should apply thicker? I love W&W nail polishes. I hate doing my own nails but because of the great price I have tons of colors to choose from when I get an itch to have a nice mani.

I still, to this day, prefer wet'n'wild nail polishes over any other..why? well, to be honest, i really only polish my toes...but their color selection is really good!  I can find shades that I can't find anywhere else..always something different...I have to say, too, that I actually like their mascaras.  I can't remember the name of the one..it's in a white tube with a pink cap.  Well, it was a few years ago, the last time I bought it..but it's actually one of the better ones out there for those of us with fine, fine lashes...not too thick, and a great brush..sure, it dries out quickly and you have to replace sooner, but at the price, it's still a better deal..

i absolutely hate this brand! when ever i try to use it i ntoice that ten minutes later i have flakes and fall off all over my face that were not there when i stepped away form the mirror ten minutes previous. I can use the shadows how i like, i cant add water and have the liner look because it all, and i mean ALL flakes off! terrible product. spend the money for somehting that stays on and does not make u look like a 15 year old experimenting with cheap makeup.

I love wet and wild eyeshadows. I haven't seen these palettes in any store yet, but maybe that is because I live out in hickville.  I do know that I love their shadows though.  There shadows have always been good, but have recently started to get even better.  I like the single eyeshadows, the ones in the round pots.  My favorite is fine wink, it is a gorgeous champagne color, and many say it is a duplicate for Stila's Kitten eyeshadow.

WW has really updated their products within the last couple of years.  I like their eyeshadows, but I don't like their eyeliner particularly the white one.  I bought the eyeliner for rimming my water line and it never transfered on my eye.  I had to heat it with a lamp a few seconds and it barely gave a faint with line.  I kept trying to use it thinking I needed to "break it in", but it never worked for me.Their lipliners, however, are really good for the price.

Wet n Wild has a bronzer/highlighter called Bronzzer, color 742, Acapulco. It is a cult favorite, it doesn't so much provide the look of a tan as it highlights and kind of makes your face glow. It's almost always sold out, I I think I remember having to go online to purchase it last time I got it.

I actually like this stuff. No, it's not the best most amazing stuff in the world, but it's pretty good. It isn't designer, and that you can tell. It is WELL worth the price though, and it is good enough for me.The eyeshadows are good, but I would rather have a bunch of cheap eyeshadows then one expensive one. I can splurge on foundation if I save on some other stuff, right?

Haven't tried their lipliner or eye shadow, but I do like their eyeliners. They don't stay really sharp, but they apply nicely, with no tugging. Also, the color flows really freely, just one or two swipes and you can get sexy date eyes.  Everything W&W is always sold out at my local CVS. Maybe there are some Megheads on HHI continually raiding the place!? I will try to hunt one of these palettes down though. Any color recommendations for blue eyes and fair skin ( I am colorblind, that part is always hard for me)?
