HOT PANTS COSMETICS EYELINER SET!
Meg here! Happy Monday! One of the top questions I get asked (besides "Are you being serious?") Is about liquid eyeliner. It's tough to do. You need a steady hand and one little tremble and it's all over, you've just created a mess!
As we just learned (come to Megsmakeup.com) and read Brooke Boles awesome interview! Hot Pants Cosmetics could just as easily be called "Smarty Pants Cosmetics" Brooke just executes brilliant touches on her products that make them so consumer friendly. You don't have to be a trained make-up artist to look like you've just been to one with her products. With this eyeliner kit, she tackles the feared "liquid liner" and makes it almost impossible to mess up! Notice I say "ALMOST" There's one in every bunch and I don't want to be emailed if someone out there has somehow managed to do it.
Anyhow, megsmakeup.com got these really glam pink marabou lined pouches filled with the tools to pull off the "Angelina cat eyes" Inside was one of her pigmented shadows (black) the liquid eyeliner base and an angled brush for simple application!
All you have to do is dip your (very thoughtful) enclosed brush into her pigmented shadow and voila! Instant professional eyes! Sultry for night, sexy for events and simple for novices.
The set comes with THREE EYESHADOWS, A BRUSH, A LIQUID BASE all at a super reasonable price!
It was so great learning all about you Brooke! A quality woman with a quality company!
What do you ladies think the best liquid eyeliners are? What do you think of Hot Pants Cosmetics Eyeliner set?Hot Pants Cosmetics BUY IT HERE!

My favorite part of this fantastic set is that it really can be worn by contact lens wearers and those with sensitive eyes. I found it easy to use and I experienced zero irritation. I expected it to be much darker than it was but was pleasantly surprised that is was more charcoal colored. I could use a bit of a tutorial on the tip that supposed to slant up, you know the cat eye part. Any suggestions? Although the eyeliner had great staying power it was just as easy to remove as the rest of my make up. Love that!
Yikes! To clarify...I was looking again at the Hotpants Cosmetics website, and at today’s topic PHOTO and I realized MY pink bag is different than the bag in the ad so please disregard the ‘pink bag with feathers’ commentary portion of today’s narrative. Sigh. I have a hunch nobody else’s bags has pink feathers on it. I probably put those feathers on the bag myself with hot glue and staples one night when I was sleepwalking and forgot I did that. Yeah, that’s what must have happened. Jeanasina has left the building.

Meg you have to know I thought of you immediately upon receiving the adorable pink feathered bag that the HOTPANTS eyeliner kit came in! Talk about the perfect accessory to your smoking’ hot pink robe from a review by you several months ago! I thought for sure this was going to be another product designed by you for sure! You really must have bathrobe party and wear your siren era pink robe and then give out these little bags with eyeliner kits inside and any other fun things that would add to a party atmosphere! I can so picture you doing that! This bag will always make me think of you! This bag simply shouts out that “Something sexy is going on here!”Now on to the review portion of today’s topic! So, when the kit came in the mail, I was in the old lady clueless department meaning I was totally unsure how to proceed with the contents! I attempted to get the little vial of OP ART Vortiolsm (silver) open and I twisted and twisted and thought about getting a pliers to twist that little sucker open when my light bulb went off and I realized I just needed to gently flip it open - no screwing necessary. I’m sure the little container was shouting “DORK!” at me! Should have put on my glasses that day. So when I finally got it open, and saw the grey sparkly residue inside I thought “Holy Crap! I better not spill this stuff!” katehrm777’s comment “ do not open the eyeliner whilst driving in a moving vehicle with your boyfriend while on lunch break from work while wearing a white sweater. Just a random thought.” had me dying laughing over here - exactly what I was worried about! I love that girl! You DO have to watch it when you have the container open because this stuff just has a look about it that says “I want to land on something I shouldn’t and do some damage!” When I opened mine the first time, the escaping particles had made it all the way out to the edges of their container looking for an escape route. They landed on my fingers right off - so just be warned - they are a dangerous bunch. There is a hole about the size of a birth control pill in the very center of the eye liner container compartment and inside this hole is some charcoal sparkling eye liner that once you figure out how to use it; looks quite nice on the eye! If you are like me and need guidance - you will go to the internet to look for ‘how to apply’ instructions. I love Meg to pieces however; sometimes we get these great products to review but there are no directions or instructions and so, I usually have to learn from scratch what the purpose is of the products I receive is if it‘s not completely apparent to me. The kit contains HOT PANTS Define-A-Line Eye Liner Base. I read up about this and figured out that it’s better than old fashioned water for dipping your eyeliner brush into! After dipping into the liner base, you dip the brush into your favorite eyeliner color (today of course would be a HOTPANTS product shade) and then you take that that same brush now pulsating with vibrating color and glide that baby right across the place where your lashes connect with your eye lid! Let me say here that I am NOT a liquid eye liner role model. I do still ATTEMPT every day to make a nice even line on BOTH eyes but some days only one of them looks professional. LOL! It’s sort of like the before and after shots you see in magazines only both of the before AND the after are going on at the same time with my eyeliner attempts! I am a solid fan of MAC eyeliner brushes - NOTHING has made me make as fine a line or I should say as pretty damn decent line as their brushes - UNTIL THIS PAST WEEK! This week I’d have to say that the brush that came with the HOTPANTS kit is in a word: F A B U L O U S! I think it’s wonderful! Paired with the liner base - even I (Wiggly Wanda) have had really super results! The grey sparkly color is not for me but I gotta say I loved everything else! I also have to tell you that again, I had my make-up loot at work and a girlfriend wanted to see what was in the container and when she saw the smoky sparkles inside she lit up and expressed her complete joy at the color and texture and had the look on her face of someone who wants to say “Can I have that?” I think this is a great kit all around!

First if I may offer a piece of my treasured expert advice: do not open the eyeliner whilst driving in a moving vehicle with your boyfriend while on lunch break from work while wearing a white sweater. Just a random thought. I thought I was going to have to splatter the rest of this on me to make a makeshift cow print sweater circa a mentos commercial. On to the review. The brush is FABULOUS. I was using the smashbox eyeliner brush and the Mac eyeliner brush before that and this one is infinitely easier to use. You can do thin, thick, angled whatever. The brush is fabulous. I did not like the eyeliner a much simply because the color was not black enough for me. I like BLACK eyeliner and this was more of a charcoal, muted black. I think it would be very pretty, however, on those who like a more understated look and I can attest to the great staying power.
I could not wait for someone to review this. I don't brag on myself much but I mustadmit I'm a genius when it comes to liquid eyeliner. I've been wearing it since Iwas 13...that 21 years for you mathletes...and I know how to work it. From cat eye,to Cleopatra I yield the small brush like a maestro. So it was very interesting forme to try this product because the ONE thing I hate about my beloved L'Oreal Lineur Intenseis that one smudge after its dried and it starts caking off of your face. Which iswhy I've learned NOT to touch my eyes over the years. This product has FAB staying power and as Mjsred says is also blendable for the smokey eye look. Its super, supereasy to use and I think everyone would like the combo. I combined the charcoal almostblack shade with a few of my deeper Urban Decay eye colors and the result was SOsexy! I LOVED it and it was SO MUCH FUN to experiment with. Grab some Hot Pantsdefine a line, call your girlfriends over and ask them to bring LOTS of shades of shadow and have a full blown HOT PANTS make up party! Its the RETURN of girls nightin!!!!!!!! GLAM ON!!!!!!!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
Boy is Brooke HOT or what??? What a gorgeous, glam, gal with brains and taste to match...I love that she absolutely "allows" us all to be girls no matter of our age (they will pry my glitter from my cold, dead, hand!) as long as we back it up with a good dose of sense and style!Between she and Meg,they could rule the world with their sass and grace! LOVE her and I too am trying to get my ass out of jeans and into dresses, totally inspired now.Oh yeah...the product: amazing shade of deepest carbon/grey powder just this side of black...hefty,classy-lucite packaging with a really nice brush included and of course this "potion" called "Define a Line" that I am starting to think is THE perfect product because it's just so flippin' good at what it does which is too keep that black-chit where you put it!!!I love the color and the application is indeed fool-proof if you know how to wield a brush...it can also be smuged on with great results and I have even used it as a shadow, which my husband thinks is all that AND the bag of chips,I think he has a "thang" for that dirty-girl smokey look. ;)The only thing I'd like to know is what the "best" way to mix these products are: the brush does fit into the powder-product after you wet it with the definer but that's probably not the "perfect" way to mix the two?I've also tipped a bit out on a tissue to mix but if there is a "foolproof" ap technique, could someone let me know?I ADORE this product and has tossed my tried and true MAC fluidline in "blacktrack" to the curb for now.I'm looking forward to trying her new "HiDef" line out soon,LOVED the lip gloss as well!Brooke...you do us all proud!!!
I have never been able to do a liquid or gel eyeliner without making a mess. Voila! This stuff is great and so easy to use. The angle brush allows you to just glide it on. I still don't know how to do the Angelina cat eyes. I also used the charcoal pigment as an eye shadow and was very impressed. I think the charcoal gray color would compliment any eye color. If you are out for eyeshadow and liner, this is a good package to buy.
I have a hard time using liquid eyeliner, the wet liner seems to irritate my eyes. I however, have great success using gel and cream eyeliners. This kit seems like it would work very well and the packaging is very nice.
this looks like such a great set

I prefer gel liners or cake eyeliners that you use with an activator fluid. I gain more precision and control that way.
I want this NOW! I love gel and liquid liners becuase pencils hurt! I have HIP gel liners in black, plum, brown, and navy. SO PRETTY
Oh man, I really want this! Never heard of it until now but it looks so awesome.I love gel liners and liquid liners, much easier to apply along the upper lashline than pencils are in my opinion. I do prefer pencil liners for my waterline though.
I think its awesome!!, and it even comes with a base c'mon doesnt get any better..Wish I had money to buy every makeup product in the world, and then do reviews on them..lol..

Okay, I'll admit it...I suck at eye liner. I still wear it everyday, but I mess it up more often than not. This sounds like it would be a cute and helpful way for me to master the technique...mabye. :)

This sounds a lot like the smashbox liners...and i still struggle with them. and i also have something from Bare escentuals that you add to the powder to turn them into liners....but they still don't stay.I will def have to look into this product a little more but...it's a bit pricey at $49.95--don't you think?
I love this and it is a must have and looking at all that wants me to have this even more ..
love this line!
I love eyeliners. This sounds like such an interesting application. Does it take a lot longer than other methods? It does look like it would be quite galm :-)
that sounds really great!
That make-up pack looks really cool!
Wow, this looks really cute. I'd never heard of Hot Pants before, thanks for bringing them to my attention!
