CRYSTAL BODY DEODORANT STICK!
Tantejoan here filling in for Gigi, your Drugstore Diva . . .
Mindful of the calendar, Gigi suggested I might want to feature something for Valentine's Day, something romantic, indulgent, and sybaritic. So I hasten to oblige, bringing you . . . Crystal Body Deodorant Stick. What, you say, deodorant? Where's the romance? Where is the love? Bear with me please, and answer a few simple questions. When you go into work after a good workout at the gym, do your coworkers stand well back when you want to chat at the water cooler?
Do women of that certain age and stage break out in a sweat at awkward moments?
Is that stunning little black dress marred by white residue from creams, powders, or roll-ons?
Has an invitation to snuggle ever been met with a suggestion to hit the shower first?
Ladies, what can be more romantic than a confident, fresh, and un-soggy woman who is 100% ready for whatever life hands her? I know I want more from my deodorant than a few hours of security. I want something that not only keeps me dry and free from unwanted odors, I want zero transfer of the white stuff and long-lasting protection. And I want something that will make someone my lover will crave to be near.
Aha! There's the romance. If your beloved has gifted you with perfume, he wants to inhale the sweet mixture of it and yourpheromones, not your, um, effluvium. And he wants warmth, not dampth. This little crystal stick does the job, with added benefits of economy. Not only is it inexpensive-under $4.00 at my local Walgreen's-but unlike the competing sticks and gels and roll-on's, it lasts. I bought my present one almost a year ago and I have barely hit the halfway mark. Made of 100% natural mineral salts, it is completelyfragrance-free, so it never conflicts with your fragrance. And if youneed an added inducement, this form of deodorant protection has been around since Cleopatra's time. You remember her, the original Drugstore Diva, right? She certainly knew something about romance.
Happy Valentine's Day, ladies, and never let them see you sweat. Anyone else out there love the Crystal Body Deodorant Stick!

I'm curious to know how it keeps wetness down if its not an anti-persp? I havebeen looking for a more natural deo that works well so I'm genuinely curious.Learning something new all the time!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
This stuff is okay, but it isn't strong enough for me all the time. I highly recommend trying it, though. It's inexpensive, and hey, maybe it works for you. Even though this wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I still use it (after a afternoon bath, or on my feet (<- you really need to try this if you suffer from stinky after athletics feet. It works wonders!)).For the people who get the crystals cutting them up. Try wetting it, and then rubbing it off with something like a towel. It really helped me.
Okay, here is the deal...and this is only my experience. I started using this crystal to be health concious and was even able to talk my fiance into using it. It actualyl works! However, after you use it for a while, it wears down, like any products, but there are natural fractures in these crystals and once you get down to those, they can give you microscopic cuts! It happened to me so I stopped using it, however, it also happened to my fiance and he got infections and it took months for the cream the doctor gave him to clear it up because it is hard to heal in there. :( Sad but true.
it sucks.
I've tried the "rock" version, but just couldn't get down with that -it was too rough for me (I guess I have delicate armpits!). But the spray version is wonderful. However, I think it depends on the person since everyone's body chemistry is so different. My boyfriend used it for a while and while it worked, he only made it halfway through the day before he "pitted out" - but it lasts all day for me. I'd recommend that everyone at least try it, you might be surprised! Plus, it is inexpensive and Meijer even carries it now.
This stuff is just ok. I didn't like the stickyness it left when you apply it. And not strong enough for me. Now I use Weleda rose spray and I love it. It doesn't leave me sticky and smell really nice but not too strong of a smell just enough I think.
This stuff gave my husband a horrible rash.
I currently have eczema in my armpits, although I've never had it before, ever, anywhere. So I'm giving this a try. I've only been trying it for a few days and it works alright. Better than a roll on, and less residue. I think it doesn't bother my armpit eczema as much either... Time will tell if this is really a better product for me.

Let me start by telling you that I have extremely sensitive underarms. I have no idea why. My entire life, I've been plagued by rashes and reactions that leave me arms-up-in-the-air, looking like a Sure commercial, but not due to confidence in my ever-so-fresh under spots. Dove, Suave, Secret, Degree...they all leave me with puffy armpits that are so swollen and tender that I can barely stand to let my arms down below my shoulders. It's a nightmare!I use the Crystal roll-on version of this product. I haven't tried the stick yet because it says you have to wet it down, and that just seems like too much of an extra step to take in the morning when I can just as easily use a roll-on. So my review is of the roll-on. I LOVE this. I have no reactions at all to it, no odor no matter HOW hot it is or how much I sweat, and it leaves my delicate skin in much better condition that with anythying else I've ever used. Let me warn you though, girls, it does NOT, I repeat, NOT protect against wetness. If you sweat, you'll be wet. If you wear a sweater on laundry day in mid-May, you'll be wet. But guess what? There's no odor! Just moistness. So, while I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with an excessive sweating problem or to those who can't stand a little moist feeling on a hot day, I would tell everyone else to run out and get it. Your underarms will thank you.
Update: I've been using the crystal body deodorant stick exclusively for the past few days. I'm pretty sure it is making my eczema prone armpits WORSE than they already were. It's making them itch AND burn! Might try this again in a week to see if that's really what's going on :(

i definitely like the "natural rock" like deodorants. it is a system to get down and i find personally i still do perspire but not as bad. however i don't smell bad just weird haha call me crazy but for a majority of them i feel almost like when i'm really sweating i put out a "burning" like smell almost like plastic or tires hint of smell. plus another thing is i found myself reapply often so i mean it's good for days you're doing light tasks and going to the beach or something but for working out or crazy days at work i don't know.
i have been curious about natural deodorants like this for years. I have seen them for sell for ever. In my teens my hippie nature loving mom tried to get me to try this, because she didn't like antiperspirants. But I didn't try it. I still haven't tried it. I sweat a whole lot, and my sweat don't smell too pretty. I might try this sometime, but something tells me I probably wont like this.
Great review! I think I will be picking up some of the rollon of this. I have been using Herbal Clear 24 Hour Natural Sport Deodorant and like it okay. But, I am always up for something new.
I really wanted to like this, but I did not. It did not keep me from sweating or dare I say smelling. I hate this did not work for me, but I guess I will just have to stick with the white stuff. :-(

My sister has it and it works well for her !

this did nothing for me. i just started smelling after a couple of hours and i hated it. it didn't give me enough protection for the entire day, but if it works for you then that's great because it's natural.

these crystal deodorants don't work for me. maybe i perspire too much that it just overpowers it's power. my mom used to use crystals in the Philippines when she was a teen but now that she tried them again...it doesn't work for her. although it would be nice to use natural products instead of deodorants that have aluminum, right now it's just not possible for me.
sometimes i get a kind of allergic reaction type sore rash under my armpits and it hurts like hell when i spray on deoderant-as this is natural (and i guess not harch) do you think this would help?! x
I use only this deodorant after shaving and my skin is quite sensitive and hates shaving, so I think it will work well for you. It certainly won't irritate your skin, it is not harsh at all, but can be a little drying - but not too much.
harsh*
i find crystal deodorants good some days but not others. they don't stop the sweat but, living in scotland, i don't find that too much of a problem! x
Doesn't wor for me. I dont like this one at all.
I wanted to make the switch to an aluminum free deodorant, too many shirts have been ruined by yellow discolouration! I had difficult finding one in stores, and had not heard good things about this particular deodorant. There was a thread on the Everyday Minerals forum about home made deodorant. A friend and I made it together, and I love it! Although it doesn't keep me as dry as antiperspirants did, I stay fresh smelling from tea tree and lavender oil. Also since the base is coconut oil I need to keep it in the fridge to keep it solid, and having cold deodorant is very refreshing when you first put it on! I would highly recommend making your own, it was very easy and one batch will last several months.
Hi allmaple, do you have a recipe for the deodorant? I'd love to give it a try!
@mychaella: I'm not sure if you've tried this one, but Meghead "dandy" recently posted her deodorant recipe: 2 T cornstarch (absorbs water) 2 T baking soda (deodorizes) 1 T coconut oil (softens) a splash of witch hazel (to get the desired consistency) 5-8 drops tea tree oil 5-8 drops lavender oil
ive tried a crystal deodorant before, aaaaaand it pretty much did nothing
Ok, soooo, i really want this! do they sellit in canada? does it ACTUALLy work?
I'd rather stick to my Degree Deodorant.
I've always been afraid to use crystal deodorants. I just feel like they wouldn't be strong enough to hold off the forces of nature. lol.
might give this a try! good price and 100% natural!!:D
I've been using this deodorant for a couple of years now. My husband likes it and I like it - do you know all the brands that are selling expensive his and hers antiperspirants and deodorants? This one really works well for both of us. It goes on clear, stops any odours and lasts for insanely long time! Some stores have a trial version for like $1.50 - it's definitely worth a try for that price (plus the trial size will still last you for a couple months! Beware, it will not stop you from swetting completely, it will still let you get a bit moist during workout or an intense day, but if you ask any doctor, he will confirm that antiperspirants are EXTREMELY UNHEALTHY and in long term their cumulative effect is very dangerous. If you swet a bit too much, try botox or something similar (recommended by a professional), but don't block your body's natural defense system - all of that crap from antiperspirants and chemical deodorants gets stored in your lymphatic system and will come around one day in form of disease (cancer is linked to these chemicals too!).
I love this!
i dont think im gonna try this
I'm not a big fan of roll on types. I like the Dove spray, very uplifting.
