EMERGENCY BREAK THROUGH POST! MAC AND HELLO KITTY! THANKS MJSRED!
Goddess Granny here! I am a freak for "Hello Kitty"...sorry,I make no apologies.It is a universally adorable,girly,non-threatening,and fun little icon and she's been brought to life in almost every incarnation and form! I have a few of Tarina Tarrantino's fabulous pieces and all new baby girls in my life are gifted with "something Kitty" by me. SOOOOOOOO......when I caught wind that MAC was teaming up with Sanrio (who trademarks Kitty) for a line,I was over the moon. Seriously.Not for myself but for my 11 year old grandaughter, Hannah who is on her way to becoming a 3rd gen MAC girl because she snags all the lipglass she can get her hands on from her Mom and me, LOL!
I cannot confirm this but it's been whispered that the "launch date" has been moved up to Feb 10th...tomorrow.I had previously heard that it would be on the 12th online/14 in stores.If I hadn't gotten an invite to the "cocktail party" last week here in San Antonio,trust me,I'd be slamming that F5 tommorrow like a fiend in hopes of scoring something MAC/KITTY!!! I DID Get to go to the pre-launch and bought as much for my girl as I could manage...she will be over the moon when the box reaches her for Valentine's. :)
The line itself is TDF....the colors are girly and fun,the accessories are just SO damn cute(Tarina designed the bracelet...) and Kitty herself is black for the first time ever which is just SO very MAC!!!
Nordstrom's also put it online and it sold out in like an hour plus they've been doing pre-sales...I can't tell you "how" to score some of this line but I WILL tell you that it's going to be hotter than hell and WILL sell out everywhere quickly! The vampires on Ebay are already trying to command ridiculous prices for items purchased at pre-parties...I am all for a profit but sometimes,it's just simply greedy- greed!
SOOOOOOOO...if you haven't heard this already,love Kitty,and want to try and get some of these really cool and fun items,get ready to start stalking the MAC site,calling your fav counter person,and gearing up for it all...it's going to be good!
The lipglasses, lipsticks,"beauty powder" (in a cute sparkly compact w/Kitty embossed on it!) pigment,and nail polishes were my favs in the line...

I'm a "girly girl" as well. One of the prettiest teachers in our school (no--incredibly gorgeous) has a "Hello, Kitty" poster on her door. Hmmm, maybe that's why she looks so good! Sweet review--I enjoyed it!
Okay people: 9:45 am here and the collection is indeed LIVE on the MAC site!My sources were correct,they launched 2 days early...get it while you can and be sure to check out the "looks!"
Silly side note here...I have a Hello Kitty Gym bag that is leopard print fur and gold piping. It is THE CUTEST thing and I just adore it. I have gotten so many compliments on it and everyone always thinks its a designer label. Time and again people ask if its a Betsey Johnson and I just giggle like a 10 year old and say HELLO KITTY!

This is why I should check this site more often! I have learned my lesson!! I literally knocked over a cup of coffee when I saw this post I was so excited. Yea! Hello Kitty! MAC! So I raced off to buy whatever was left over. It was yesterday a full 4 days after the original post so I wasn't expecting too much. Nordstrom and MAC coporate site had slim pickin's on the accessories but I ordered a lip gloss and the lip treatment.I already have lots of other hello kitty items so I will probably live but it was so fun to window shop through the items and so sad they were sold out already. My current favorite Hello Kitty items is a toaster, small change purse (black, hot pink trim and Kitty with hot pink bow) and two hair clips (purple Kitty has purple bow). My husband gave them as gifts so they are sentimental. I'll let you know how the lip treatment works, I haven't used that one before.
I have to try this. I love Hello Kitty. I have never really used MAC. Maybe this is my incentive to try. Hope it's not too late! What is a good starter piece for a MAC virgin?

I love Hello Kitty :) So adorable! And I think it's so fabulous that MAC teamed up with Sanrio. I'm totally in love with the traincase and that hot pink lipstick. MEEE-OWWWW!

I love Mac makeup and I think Hello Kitty is adorable. Have a couple of cute purses with the Kitty and a plastic water bottle I take to work everyday. I'm obsessed. This combo is heaven!
I don't get the whole Hello Kitty thing, but this collection looked so beautiful! I liked the products and the packaging was so fun. I am always away at school when MAC releases LE collections that I would like to try!! Oh well, hoping they will have some great stuff this winter, just saw new ads for a new dazzle glass line I hope will be around when I get home!
I loved this collection, definitely one of my favourites. It was all about the packaging though, ya know? The products themselves weren't really THAT amazing or original in my opinion. But they were still worth buying because the packaging was so gosh darn cute! I bought a blush and 2 lipsticks from this collection - beautiful colours, just not that original. :P
