URBAN DECAY CREAM EYESHADOWS!
Goddess Granny here! I know many of you have been buried in snowbanks, pelted with ice, and worn thin by wind...it's just dry as a popcorn fart (another of my husband's"Texas-isms) here in South Texas but the sun has been brilliantly shining and the sky blindingly blue so as a result, I have "Spring" on the brain even though it's just barely February.I'm already kicking my deep purple eyeshadows and wine-colored lipsticks to the curb (or at least the back of the vanity, LOL!) in order to make room for a fresher, lighter, look although mind you, that does not mean un-glam in any sense of the word...I think sometimes in spite of the rotten weather and dreary days,it really helps to get slicked up a bit if for no one else than the person in the mirror!
I am a freak for just about anything "Urban Decay" does: they are cutting edge without being too trendy, always on point with their latest products, and if you love colors not necessarily found in nature among your cosmetics likeI do,they are a company who never lets you down!
I am LOVING their latest eyeshadow for the new season called simply "Cream": slick little portable tubes of color with a built-in applicator that really works for a change in shades that make you want to buy them all at once! They have a high-tech gel base that allows them to glide on evenly with plenty of time to blend and fuss before they dry to a beautiful finish that truly lasts all day and then some with absolutely NO creasing, fading,or streaking! You can even layer the colors for different effects if you let them dry in between coats and the lighter shades can be multi-tasked into highlighters and even blended into foundation for a bit of extra dewiness!
I am wearing "Weeds" a sexy moss-green with yellow undertones and silver sparkles like it's my new BFF and highlighting with "Whipped", the perfect peachy-gold: when I get to the store later this week,I will be getting several more colors because it's just such a perfect product! I want "Asphalt" because I just know it will give me that over the top GORGEOUS naughty-girl black shadow look Angelina wears in "Wanted"without all theblending and mess of a powder!
You can even do a smoky-eye in your rear view mirror without messing up and know it will stay as you want it and even usethe colors under the bottom lashline without worrying that you'll end up looking tie-dyed and splotchy!
I find that it's best to allow the applicator work it's magic without toomuch finger or brush blending...just apply one thin coat and see if it's the effect you want.If you want more coverage or sparkle, keep adding thin layers until you're all happy! It's heavily pigmented color in a genius base that allows the texture to stay "real" and skin-like although you can also choose to create one helluva' dramatic eyes with this stuff almost effortlessly! In spite of my best efforts and years of practice, there are still times when my brushes and hands just don't work well together when it comes to shadow...this is just easy-peasy!
Priced at a mere $17.00 a shade,it is needless to say, something just about everyone can feel good about trying and with 12 extraordinary colors and finishes to choose from, there will be something you'll love..promise!
We already can't live without UD's "Primer Potion" and these shadows will be making everyone's "must have" list as well!Urban Decay hits it out of the ballpark yet again with their "Cream" shadows! It's a home run for me! What colors did you ladies get? let me know if it made you say Game On!

I can't wait to try these! I haven't worn a cream shadow in years, because I can't stand how the normally crease (gross). I also can't wait to try the UDPP in Sin. It's like they took my favorite primer and eyeshadow color into one super cool product. UD Rocks!
"...like a drag queen at a Charro festival."One of THE most all-time classic and over the top lines I have ever heard,LOLROF!!!YOU rock girl!!!Really does say it all and I too adore glitter no matter where it may land! If you want to sparkle like a hot stripper in the VIP,get yourself a LUSH "Karma" melt and you'll be covered head to toe (and all crevices in between :) in gold glitter...:)
I received grass and asphalt. The grass was a dark moss color and was awkward to blend. I did try it later layering it with powders and found it usable. I don't think I would buy this color again. The asphalt had glitter in it. I liked the glitter look, but after a couple hours I had glitter all over my face. My dining companions were telling me how much I had. I went to the restroom and had to wash my face, but still had glitter. Perhaps my young niece would like this better than a person of my age. I would pass on these products. I have used other powders and cremes that I like much better.

Well I just finally bought the Primer Potion (I don't know what took so long - I've never heard anything bad about it!) and it really is as good as everyone says! So I am interested in trying some more of UD's products... a cream shadow that doesn't crease? I'm intrigued...
I received two colors to try out on my bare naked eyelids! I received ‘Medium bronze with subtle gold microsparkle’ and ‘Radium metallic blue’! Ok...without question; I was most interested in the medium bronze as this woman NEVER wears any type of blue eye shadow unless I’m going in costume to a Dress as Outlandishly As Possible event! Blue eye shadow and I are not compatible - I’m sure my Harley Man would take one look at me if I wore Metallic Blue would definitely say “Not a good look for you dear!” I concur. The older you get - the more apparent eye shadow looks! However...on the other hand the medium bronze with subtle gold microsparkle (who’d ever guess there would be a wonderful word like ‘microsparkle’? Right there - this color sounds exceedingly interesting and festive! So I took the applicator carefully out of its streamlined container and applied it to my eyelids - timidly at first, and my first thought was - this stuff goes on as smooth as silk! I was diggin’ it right off the bat! I even got a compliment on it the first day I wore it - so there was another point in its favor! It lasts all day when I use it and it doesn’t crease at all! I basically don’t have to fuss with it during the course of any day I put it on and I mentioned it has great staying power - it looked the same at the end of my day, 10:00 p.m. as it did when I put it on at 5:45 a.m.! It feels as if it’s utterly weightless and you never feel like every time you blink you can feel the weight as you do of some of the thicker globbier products that sometimes spend a day on your eyelids! I know you KNOW what I’m talking about! Every time you can ‘feel’ your eye shadow you want to go look in the mirror to see if it’s still in place! Another thing, with Urban Decay’s creamy eye shadow, the more you put on, the more dynamic your look is! You know Urban Decay doesn’t test their products on animals (thank God!) so there is no little rat or monkey out there wearing metallic blue eye shadow as I write this! You gotta love Urban Decay because they have a “Love It or Leave It” Guarantee! You can’t ever test eye shadow colors when you buy them on line (only big drawback to ordering on line) but with their guarantee they will take it back within 45 days of the order date AND refund the full amount of the price of the product! That’s pretty cool! Too bad we can’t do that with the men we date huh? Wouldn’t THAT be great? We could date a guy, spend about a month and a half with him and then; when we realize the guy just doesn’t go with our apartment dècor or his outfits clash with our signature lipstick colors or even that the guy just turns out to have no staying power...well with the “Love It or Leave It Guarantee” we could give the guy the boot, send him back to where-ever he was before we started dating him AND have him write us a check for the full amount of the cost of the new outfits, lingerie, and cosmetics we bought during our time with him which we purchased for the SOLE reason of appealing just to HIM! You get my drift! I like this idea don’t you? I am giving a thumbs up to Urban Decay Creamy Eye shadows!
Jeanasina!
I received Midnight Cowboy and Whipped and I loved them both. Great colorsfor blendability or stand alone for an easy "fast in a flash" eye. I have dayswhen I could spend 15 minutes getting my eyes just right and others where I justwant to swipe and go. UD's creme is a great swipe and go for quick glam. I agree with Sharond that there is a fair amount of sparkle and that drives somepeople nuts. I, personally, wear my sparkles that flit down to my face like adrag queen at a Charro festival. VIVA la sparkles! But that's just me and I'm sureI won't be rockin' them when I'm a Disco Dottie. I've never liked cremes butthese blend well and DO NOT crease (which is why I hate cremes) even on my oilyskin. UD is always a hit and these are no exception.
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
So I have to admit I was a little weary about trying this out. Past experiences with this hasn't been the greatest. It seems good in theory but the results have also been, what's would cakey? And after a few hours it tend to crack. However all that being said, I actually really LIKED Urban Decay. It wasn't cakey (majorly important) and it didn't crack. Also its always a plus when you continually great compliments. So Meg this was a quality pick! Great selection!!!
Really great review Goddess Granny! I want to love cream eye shadows, maybe this will finally be the one for me. I never seem to be able to apply them properly. Any application tips would be much appreciated. XOXOX Dawn
Now, I am a cream shadow lover. And the colors in these cream shadows were wonderful and the texture was really light-they are whipped! But I feel like I didn't get any staying power...even with the UDPP! Maybe I should experiment with layering powdered shadows over top intead...

I Love these too for something that looks so shimmery and flimsy they last all day and night.

I've never seen eye shadow's look like this before. I want to try them out.
Amazing pigmentation, and the ONLY cream shadow I've ever used which doesn't crease - even on my bare eyelid and not over a primer. Perfect perfect perfect!
i am afraid to try cream shadows because even regular ones dont last but a few minutes on my oily eyelids, even with primer.
Faith 24 you should give one of these a go there cream to powder so they tend to stay put really well.

these are so great and super pigmented, some of them i feel are a little brittle though, with the glitter specs, and i don't always get excited about the price

I love this product. My favorite color is Rehab. Just wonderful. This is the best cream eyeshadow I have ever used.
i've never tried a cream shadow before, maybe i'll give this atry
I love the packaging, I like using cream shadows as a base for my powdered eye shadows.
haven't use cream shadows that much but now i think i'll give them a try
I have been using Midnight Rodeo. It is so pretty and easy to use. For some people it might have too much glitter for day time use. But for the more adventurous you can wear it any time. I also find that it is a great layering piece with your "regular" shadows. Really nice! Give it a try!
I have Midnight Cowboy, and I've had the same experience. Way too much sparkly glitter for daytime! It's great for a night out on the town, but not everyday.
What a cute eyeshadow. I have never used creamy eye shadows but this one looks cute.
YAY, there is a review on this! Wonderful product UD! As I have said before, I am a huge fan of UD. I have tried just about every product they have. I have these shadows in several colors. Goddess Granny, you are so right about the shadows being easy as pie to apply. I have been guilty of doing this as a red light without even looking in a mirror!! I have had practive with these. :-)
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

I do really like these, I bought one when Sephora recommended it to me upon checkout. I got the violet like shade to bring out the green in my eyes. I like to apply powder shadow over it, it increases the staying power and really makes my eyes "pop".
I love cream shadows. I have not tried these ones yet...it's only a matter of time. I like vibrant look they give. Also, it's so nice to apply a creamy mix onto the eye.

Cream shadows tend to crease on me, but I saw a youtube video where the lady used the Weeds cream shadow as a base and it looked beautiful! I want to give Weeds a try. :)
i loveee the colour but i don't like to put this products because it's stuck on my eyes its not confortable ....
I'm psyched to try these but I must wait until I get my credit card paid off to buy some more shadows. :(

I have never tried cream shadow, I always figured I couldn't because of my oily lids. But now that I have discovered the magic of primer maybe I could give these a try? I do like Urban Decays powder eye shadows, they are pigmented and go on great. Plus I love to spice things up every once in a while with glitter, so Midnight Cowboy is a fave! I will have to find these and test them out to see if I like them.
I usually don't use cream shadows because my lids are so oily that anything non-dry will ooze right off (eek) but these have pretty decent staying power! Especially when put over UDPP :)
I have been looking for a great creame shadow and it sounds like this one might just be it. This sounds wonderful. Thanks for the review!
I want the green one! I think it would work with my eyes.

those cream eyeshadows look awesome!
I actually bought one of these years ago (i assume these new ones have a new improved recipe) and absolutely loved it. It was black and had a tiny bit of pearl to it, once it had dried that was it, it didn't budge all day. I LOVED it.
I find that these make decent bases, but you really have to make sure it's a THIN layer. I find it easier just to stick with my NYX pencils, as much as I love UD :(
They last all day and all night? Not possible? If so, that will make my life much easier. I like to keep my makeup all day, but I must make retouche often. It's boring!
that looks awesome! i really wanna try it!
