MARCO PELUSI! MARCO COLOR SMOOTHING GLOSS!

Wed, 01/28/2009 - 12:34am
  • Hump Day Hair
  • Hair

Megl here! I'm filling in for Katie today and I'm happy to do so because today's hump is on a brand that I'm a huge fan of! I am also a die-hard Marco Pelusi follower. I've seen his genius first hand and he has gotten absolutely crazy positive reviews on megsmakeup before Marco's previous raves

I was over the moon when he let me know he has a gloss out. I can't get a brush through my hair without his anti-frizz leave in conditioner and I'm pretty new to the world of glosses. I have really fine hair that's dry and brittle on the ends but can get uber oily around the scalp. Gloss and shiners translated to "oily" and "limp" in my mind. I was all "OMG Marco! I can't wait to try it!" But inside I was nervous because I am a total newbie and wasn't even sure how you work a gloss. Marco, being not only a hair guru but teacher to so many stylists calmly explained it to me "After you blow dry, you need to make the hair look healthy and shiny, take a TINY amount (about the size of the tip of a q-tip for my fine tresses).Work it through your hair, it will detangle and control fly-aways and promote sheen

The Master had spoken. He said this to me while working on a woman in his chair at his signature salon. I felt even better when his client said " Oh, you'll love it! It's great! It makes my hair look so good. I always get compliments that my hair looks fab when I use it." It wasn't that I doubted Marco, it was that I doubted my hair. How can a girl doubt Marco? He really does think of everything. This is the Rolls Royce of glosses. It has color guard and sunscreen and vitamin e and silicone and its water soluble. He really is an expert on color so does everything he can to jam pack his products with all the goodies to keep your lock vibrant and protected. It's not a huge bottle but when used properly will last 6 months. It also is not sticky and made my hands feel great! It's just a quality product and I am now THE GLOSS QUEEN! After I give myself a blow out I grab for this gloss and I'm very happy with the results. If you suffer from any dull or dryness I would recommend you try his leave-in conditioner and finish off with this gloss. You'll be having many a great hair day!

Now for the contest! I promise that I will not bore you with the Megken romance for quite a while after this post. I just need for you ladies to see further proof on the great talent that is Marco Pelusi.

Ken you need a haircut! "Seriously, what is up with all this big, pouffe, straggly hair? You look like a crazy person, can we please get a haircut? You know this doesn't look good, you wear a baseball hat everyday."

I plead with him and negotiate and tell him that as Meg from Megsmakeup, it is my duty in life to give him a makeover. He can teach me all about being Jewish. I am here to teach him all about sculpting spray and moisturizer. I feel it's very important to clearly know what everyone's bringing to the table :)

Like many pouty three year olds, Ken is brought to the Marco Pelusi hair studio. This guy has crazy hair and hadn't gotten a cut in over a year. I really have to pull out the big guns here. This is no willy-nilly task. I need the expert!

After Marco calmly talks Ken off the ledge he begins to snip away. It's like watching Edward Scissorhands go! The long scraggles fall to the floor and I end up with a guy with a fabulous head of hair! Now I can actually see his face! He's getting more compliments on his new cut then ever and the best part! I get to say "I told you so" With each new rave review! The second best part? He really likes his new look.....Meanwhile I'm on page 65 of "Gateway to Judaism"

I know I'm really fortunate to have a mega celeb stylist around the corner. These glosses are great and I want to send one out! Just let me know what you'd do for a Marco Pelusi hair makeover forget about the Klondike bar. Marco's where it's at!

Immediately (and by immediately I mean put-down-my-plate-of-piping-hot-Korean-fried-chicken immediately) I rushed and bought this, Meg. Even though I have to say I always think buying from this web site is enough to give me more gray hairs! HOW many times to I have to hit Back and retry before I actually can reach an order form? Nevertheless, thank you for passing the word, because I absolutely love the leave-in conditioner, but my own highlighted, fine hair can certainly use some shine. Or sheen. Something. So I am now going to sit and tap my impeccably manicured nails until it arrives. Did I mention immediately?

THIS STUFF IS AMAZING! My hair is so dry and so course and I feel like I could pour oil directly onto my scalp and it still would not look shiny enough. But this product...wow. It makes my hair so shiny and soft and hides all my flyaways and breakage. I had been using Biosilk Silk Therapy for a long time now...but this beats it hands down and speaking of hands...I usually have to wash my hands about 12 times after I use Biosilk because they are so sticky and slimy and covered in goo. Not so for this! Just light, soft shine. Great stuff!

First of all I am giggling: it's like a seeing a little one get that "first haircut" and the long-suffering but loving look on his face in the second photo is SO freakin' funny!!!This man DOES love you so get reading girl!!!I consider it "our job" as females to leave everything we touch a bit more beautiful and I LOVE his new look!!! Younger and absolutely more handsome,I adore dark-haired guys...The gloss...where were we? It is SENSATIONAL!!! It'e the very first product I tried when my items for review arrived and let me tell you,I was blown away!!! I am "okay" with my hair...I get great color every 4 weeks and a trim here and there and pretty much do the rest myself with the help of my trusty "Chi"...I can't load a lot of product on it because like Miz Meg,my hair is thick but very fine and this gloss not only immediately smoothed and shines,it really make the ends smooth and the color POP!!!I want to try more of Marco's genius products and agree,it's the "best gloss/hair finisher" I have ever tried!!!

Where to start with this one! Ok, I have to start with the Ken transformation kit! Ai carumba! The Ken cartel crew members would not recognize their fearless leader in a throng of people right now! As our story continues.. in the beginning we see someone our Ms. Meg has fallen for in the guise of either the actor from the TV show “Numbers”, or an incarnation of Cat Stevens before he changed his identity. Wild & Free! Then our lovely Meg takes him to the Mission Impossible Headquarters where he is seen sitting, no doubt TIGHTLY seat-belted, beneath his plastic cape on the hair studio chair. The look on his face in the ‘before’ photo says it all. You can just hear him saying to himself in that photo...“People will die today when I am released from the savagery and atrocity about to be committed upon my person!” I’m sure right after he thought that, he gave Meg a shy little smile because after all...we know he’s definitely quite taken with our lovely Meg! Why else would he allow himself to be getting a haircut? EXACTLY! I can only imagine how fiercely his heart must have been beating as it slammed against the underside of that plastic cape. With each cut I’m sure his eyes reached out to Megan as she sat on the sidelines no doubt cheering in an adorable skimpy cheerleading outfit with pom poms saying “Ken Ken you’re my man! Just keep saying...I think I can, I think I can!” When the final curly lock hit the floor Meg no doubt hit the ceiling with her final perfectly executed back flip of joy! I imagine then they whipped off the plastic cape, undid Ken’s triple seat belt locks and released him! I’m sure he gave a shy little smile at his lovely lady Meg and then proceeded to strut up to the mirror and probably touched his hair and said...”Baby...you’re the greatest!” as he looked in the mirror and saw both his reflection (looking smoldering hot) and the reflection of Meg who was literally beaming from ear to ear thinking about how she wanted to jump him right at that moment! At least that’s how I think it probably went down. I know how we like to help accentuate our men! When I first met my Harley man he had the littlest smidge of red in his goatee and eye brows and I love RED hair and he told me when he was a young lad he had flaming red hair; he probably just said ‘red’ but I imagined ‘flaming’. Anyway...so I went to the store and got red hair dye and for months he actually allowed me to dye his goatee and eyebrows every shade of red out there! He did this for me and I loooooooved how he looked! Again, I have a really great man! He allowed me to have my way with him (talking about hair color here) for probably a year and then finally let me know that it’s a lot of work and how about if we just let it get to be natural again and grey/white which I did. I miss the red - I thought he was a super hottie Harley man with the red and of course he looked so much younger...but he’s still my hot Harley man with grey and white now. Point being...our men love us so they let us talk them into things which usually do benefit them in the long run but maybe not anything they themselves were considering doing at any time! I bet Meg’s Ken will be saying to everybody he knows going forward...”My name is Kobayashi. I work for Keyser Soze.” Ken will say this because NOBODY is going to recognize him in his fresh new disguise and he can get away with saying this!!As to the product...I would love to try the entire line of the Marco Pelusi Collagen Colorguard Collection! The word ‘collagen’ in itself draws me as I know we lose collagen in all areas of our bodies as we age. Somebody definitely absconded with MY collagen! Collagen Stealing Bastards! I tried the Marco Pelusi Color Smoothing Gloss and was impressed with its capacity to smooth away my fly-away hairs! Here in Minnesota we have to wear layers of scarves and hoods on our heads because it’s freakin’ freezing every day that we go to work and so every day when we ARRIVE at work and pull off our head gear - POOOF! Instant static electricity fright night looking head results! I currently put some of the new Marco gloss in a small vial in my purse and immediately, after taking off my arctic head layers, I RUN into the ladies room and ooze out some gloss into my hand and then gently use my hands to smooth those errant, running for the hills hairs, back down into a calm shiny state where they belong and look good besides! I love that this product provides UVA/UVB protection because when the cold goes - honey I’m going to be outside with bare-naked hair getting some rays on my sun-starved body and head! I really love the way your hands do not feel like they have been slimed by this product when you put the dollop into your hands just before distributing! Of course the best results are the marvelously shiny hair you sashay around in for the rest of your day! I would love to try the entire collagen promoting collection on my head! Of course if I did that, I’m sure I’d have to quit this job and just spend my days signing autographs for all the people who are enamored with my hair!

Jean--Ken does resemble Cat Stevens! I concur--a man who will allow you to take him to a salon is smitten and I'm laughing so hard because he looks like such a cute puppy. Another clue as to his feelings for you? You met the family. Men generally don't take women around their loved ones if they aren't sincere. Ah, the gloss--I had tried Pantene's "Ice Shine" but I didn't notice a difference. I detest "dead-looking" hair and did my usual overkill when I first used this. Then I washed again and applied properly; my auburn hair is radiant! The only other product that has worked this well for me was one hundred years ago when Yardley of London had a shine spray that my older sister bought.

The best part of your guy's makeover, besides how great he looks, is the fact that he trusts you. If you ask me trust is sexy.......;)

This is a love letter to this gloss, and also a big thank you to Meg and Marco himself. After I kvetched online about the MP website's convoluted ordering process Meg very kindly passed the word to Marco, who called me and helped expedite my order. (And, to be clear, the fault is not his, it is his webmaster's; Marco's genius is with hair, so he is not expected to be a geek, too.) He was so sweet and helpful, and gave me detailed instructions to maximize his product. And he followed up with a very nice email, too. I have promised myself a visit to his salon on my next trip to LA. Back to the gloss: it is amazing. Just a petite pea's worth of product, warmed in the palms and then lightly smoothed on my blonde, highlighted, fine hair and I have sheen and silky control. Love it!

OMG I need need need some of this! Haha, I have eternal dry damaged hair issues and I am always looking for the next best thing to fix them. That's why Wednesday reviews are my fave!! Meg, you have one sexy boy there! And he seriously has some feelings for you to let you chop off his hair! He better keep treating you like a queen because you deserve it!!! Oh and I would do just about anything to get a makeover from "the master"! I live in Wisconsin and although I read Vogue and Bazaar religiously and shop online for everything I can't get here I have never had an opportunity to actually have the star treatment myself!! I would love to try this gloss - I've never heard anything bad about his products!

I've personally never used any of Marco's products. My hair goes through phases and requires me to be inconsistent in my product usage. Some of the products I’ve been using lately are Moroccan Oil & Oscar Blandi. I would love to try Marco’s though. As for what would I do? Well just about anything. I once went through a car wash strapped on to the roof of a car to meet my favorite band. Don’t believe me? I added a pic to my profile labeled “car wash.” I’d do it again if it’d win me a great new hair product to add to my alternations.

I HAVE to try it...because of my heavily colored hair...I guess that's just what I longs for...although you ladies already gave me tons of tips so my hair looks ALOT healthier than before, and it's shiny too. But who wouldn't go for that extra sheen?

Make up your beauty-full mind...
