MEGS RUNDOWN ON THE GOLDEN GLOBES!
Meg here! Ahh, LA! The lights, glamour, parties and celebs! I'm watching the Golden Globes that are taking place a stones throw away from my place and I have one thought....Bring back Bjork and the swan dress back! BORING BLACK EVERYWHERE!
Drew Barrymore has blown me away the hair, the dress-looked like a movie star! JLO, brought out the Gold and if you're going to The Golden Globes Why not!
I remember when everyone was talking about how great it was years ago when Sharon Stone wore a Gap shirt with a skirt. How refreshing! How ballsy! How real...How Ugh. Half a billion veiwers and you pull out the Gap? What? A Gap shirt? O.K. Eva Longoria and Demi just flashed on the screen, they look like movie stars. If you're not going to impress and look the part of the Hollywood Diva then stay home! I can see a Gap shirt at my local mall.
Did anyone see Burn After Reading? I loved it! Commit treason and murder for the quest of getting plastic surgery! Finally, Hollywood creates a movie based on reality!
I have to share with all of you how I was the belle of the ball at the most exclusive Miramax Golden Globes party a few years ago. It just shows how a bit of confidence and the right dress can get you in anywhere. If you're on the East Coast, it may seem like the awards go on at night. They're not live. Red carpet starts about 4:30 pm out here, I wanted to go mingle with the A-list.
I put the hair in curlers and brought out a sparkly red dress so it looked like I was at the awards show. I painstakingly applied my make-up and thought I would just show up and they'd let me in. Since I had dressed the part I figured the doorman would say "What kind of lunatic shows up to an awards after party in a gown? Too far-fetched. I'll just let her in.
I was wrong. I walked up all in my glory to the elevator in the Beverly Hilton, only to be met by a huge, intimidating man with a list that my name wasn't on.
I wasn't going anywhere.
I had done my hair, my make-up and had on a hot dress! I wasn't taking No! for an answer. I had a plan. A risky one, but I was all dressed up with nowhere to go so I was going to execute it!
I walked into the Hilton kitchen where all the waitstaff was working and mustered up tears "I'm being stalked! I can't go out there! The press! My stalker! All I'm trying to do is get to the Miramax afterparty! After that performance, I was whisked up to the party via service elevator and escorted right in, seated on a couch with Liev Schrieber, Kevin Spacey and Courtney Love. Once hours had passed and I was outside sharing a cigg with Jodi Foster I was so proud my plan had payed off! Hey, fake it 'til you make it babe! This is LA!
I could have never pulled off this master plan with a Gap top! Just say'in!
Let me have it! What did you ladies think of the globes? Who rocked it! What's your best party crashing tale? SHARE!

Being a sewer who creates gowns and high end clothing, I always love to look at what the stars are wearing. I get ideas and then go from there. I also like to watch the designer shows, like Chanel, Versace, Stella on the internet. Of course those models are sooo thin it is hard to copy what they wear for an average person. But lucky you Meg, you get to see the stars in person. What amazes me is how luminous their skin looks. In real, does it really look that good?

I was also noticing a lot of raving about the black dresses (boring) and thena lot of critics cutting down some of the dresses that I thought were fun, fliryty, and exciting to see come down the red carpet. I LOVE Kate Winslet and thoughtshe looked absolutely beautiful but found her dress to be rather dull. OMG yahooput her on the best dressed list. Though she committed no faux pas with herensemb she also took no chances and gave us nothing to ooh and aah at. Again,I adore her and her performances speak for themselves but I just find it crazythat the "critics" bash Mary Louise Parker for her do then praise Demi Moorefor practically the same look. And that MUSTARD colored dress a best pic? GAG.Anything "condiment" described should not be allowed in a glamorous venue. Itsjust not right. Especially when they lambast Debra Messing for her gown (which I loved) and made those who tried something new out to be hags. On the Best Dressedlist that I loved...Eva Mendes. The turquiose necklace and elegant gown...WOW.What a pop. Along with Longoria and Kate Beckinsale, both were STUNNING. Oh,Angelina Jolie on the best dressed list? The gown was OK but really it just looked like she threw on the gown and headed to the awards. I also really thoughtMegan Fox looked HOT in her dress but the tatoo distracts too much. I wishbeautiful young women would just let their gorgeous yound skin shine while theycan. If you are a heavy tattoo type person and its a part of your look go forit. But for someone like Megan, with a face and a body like that, the misplacementof the tattoo is just a distraction. Fun for all at the GG's one way or another. I adore just getting the chance to see what they pick.
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
Yeah Meg!!I hate awards shows to begin with... I think the competition should just be the DRESSES. It's a fashion show anyway... no one cares who wins except the self important people nominated. The 78 or so members of the Hollywood Foreign Press just pick the people they want to suck up to anyway... and the Golden Globes was nothing until Dick Clark started to Produce it and sold it to TV. At this moment in time, personally wasting time watching this RETARDED Show I suggest that Megsmakeup.com starts their own Meg's Golden Globes Awards Show it only has 5 Awards... 1. Best Dress 2. Best Make-Up 3. Best Hair 4. Best All Around Look and 5. The Table that DRINKS the most Free WINE... and if no one merits the award we burn them in front of the Beverly Hilton on a live WEBCAST on Megsmakeup.com
Didn't bother to watch it this year, was catching up on past season of "Big Love" but was rooting for Mickey Rourke, the man has had a freakin' LIFE and I was pleased he won! He was sooooo hot once upon a time.Meg,you do us all proud with your antics,LOL! And I TOTALLY agree you CAN and SHOULD try to fake it and get into a fabulous soiree' at least once in your life! I used to work for a major hotel and we'd often get very glam after our shift and crash society weddings in NY...we looked so tasty and what wedding isn't improved my a few more hot single women?I also worked in the construction-field and will tell y'all that the lowly clipboard combined with a mega-dose of perfume and attitude WILL open the most testosterone-locked doors out there,LOL! Nicole Kidman when she stepped out in that chartruse Dior gown was the defining moment in "red carpet" fashion for me...only she could have worn it and di so incredibly well! I agree that Salma is one beautiful womean though! So Miz Meg...are you gonna' go out there and do something memorable again soon??? I am willing to bet on it!!!
didn't watch the awards show but i did see all the best/worst this morning on yahoo. i thought j.ho looked like she was wearing donna kara circa 1995, drew barrymore's hair...eh. was that cameron diaz or dakota fanning in the pink dress? megan fox looked great, loved the dress! marisa tomei too, that girl seldomly does wrong in my book though. christina applegate would have stood out had renee zellweger done that like ten years ago and way better. salma hayek... dayum! makes me wanna switch teams and that's just to justify seeing those lovely breasts everytime i close my eyes now! as much as i dislike her beyonce never strikes out on the carpet. she's the new j.ho, kate winslet also. just stunning! what was up with everyone's dissheveled hair, heavy wrinkle showing make up and just all around tired look? wow, i sure had alot to say. that is all
