Meg here! I have to admit my Christmas Eve has left a lot to be desired. Ex-husband wanted to go away for the holidays, he lives in a house that is up in the hills and rather secluded. We have three older dogs, it's kind of like dog nursing home at this point. There's a deaf one, one that has bad arthritis and then the cataract queen. I could never kennel them, I never have and now they're old and would probably have coronary heart failure from the shock of being in a cage. I agreed to come stay at the lonely house (which is so cold for some reason) while he is out of town. Then I get sick. So now I'm alone, sick and hanging out with my geriatric dogs (who I love- but it's Christmas Eve!) I was having a pity party for my self and then..Something happened that made me feel like I was starring in its A Wonderful Life! Clarence got nothing on you women!

I was stunned. I started to cry. I am so grateful and so shocked, I let out an OMG, so loud I almost gave the 3 geriatric dogs heart attacks. Thanks so much. I love you and really appreciate what you wrote. I'm feeling better already!

Gigi here--Bah humbug to cosmetics today! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to All! Did I actually just dismiss cosmetics? Too much eggnog for me . . .

I am merely a member of what one reviewer cleverly termed the "Ya-Ya Sisterhood of the Traveling Megettes" (also known as reviewers at Meg's Makeup along with a reader, a gem who used to "lurk" before she reared her lovely head and pen!). We wanted to collectively extend our Christmas and Hanukah wishes to you, Miss Meg, and to the wonderful, incredible readers of this site who make us want to do our best! Gigi says: How to describe 2008? It seemed that as soon as the ball dropped in Times Square on January 1, my life plummeted as well. Goodbye to our precious Cocker Spaniel Gabriel, who suffered a stroke when I had pneumonia and was home alone with him. Adieu eyesight, as I lost vision which was replaced by continual pain. Farewell to my cherished job for the time being. And then the inevitable but horrific: "Until we meet again" to my beloved, amazing mom, my role model, who left this earth, left me feeling like a middle-aged orphan. But enough whining, Drugstore Dame! In came Meg's Makeup, a highly addictive forum where I find real friends who continually inspire me and offer laughs galore, support to the max, advice for beauty and life itself, sincere concern and more--from the world's most gorgeous, gifted women! Meg, please take a bow--you organized these year-round angels! How to best describe you? With one of my favorite passages about what a truly stunning woman is: she is one whose "strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness in on her tongue" (Proverbs). Have a peace- and joy-filled Christmas, much-loved, beautiful, brilliant, strong, and tenacious one!

Goddess Granny"Twas the night before Christmas and Meg wasn't her best--there were parties to be at but she felt a hot mess. 'I know I can do this' she said with resign, 'I have women who love me and products divine! There's simply no reason for one to miss out, when life hands you lemons, just toss them all out! Grab a big glass of vino and strap on those heels, add a smear of red lipstick THEN see how you feel!' The moral of the story for all of us here is the some special women will always persevere! They set a high standard for beauty and style, and they always remind us that it's priceless to smile! For Meg who shares so much of herself with countless women every day--it's not always easy or pretty being in charge and in the limelight, but you never fail to add some glamour, humor and, most of all, HOPE to the days of so many! Every woman deserves to be beautiful in her own right and as long as you continue to share your personal example of living with style no matter what, we'll all continue to have hope as well! Love you girl!

"Megan, the fabulous makeup reviewer, had a very classy website; and if you ever saw it, you would say every product review was just right. All of the other Megette reviewers loved to laugh and talk about every skin care brand name, but they always looked to Megan for the best advice since she was always on her game. Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Megan came to say: 'Megettes, with your noses so bright, shouldn't you all put on some concealing powder tonight?' Then and every day all the Megettes loved her, as they shouted out with glee, 'Megan the fabulous makeup reviewer, thank you for looking for new make-up reviewers and choosing me!'"

Sweetassgal chimes in with, "Christmas this year is truly about an attitude of gratitude . . . and this is something I carry in my heart every day. Gratitude for wonderful family and friends and the new friends I've made here at Meg's. We can all agree that 2008 has been one of the most difficult years in a long time. But through it all I find hope, love, and encouragement as I check in with Meg's Makeup to see what nuggets of insanely funny brilliance await my eyes. It's for this daily boost of love and laughter that I thank Meg when I count my blessings.
