LUSH SILKY UNDERWEAR DUSTING POWDER! FRAGRANT FRIDAYS!
Vexy your Friday Fragrance Fiend, bringing you the best in sexy scents and scintillating smells! And do I have a neato one for you ladies today!
I will be the first to admit- I have big thighs. like, monster thighs. The thighs that ate Tokyo in one fell swoop. So wearing dresses and skirts is always kind of a self-conscious area for me, not only because of my thigh-zillas, but because the rubbing together of my legs causes maaaajor chafing. It's itchy, painful, and I can't stand it. Not only do my thighs chafe, but so do my arms if I'm wearing sleeveless shirts, and the underside of my hoo-has, if you know what I mean.
I'd avoided using baby powder because, honestly, I hate the smell of talc. It's too sweet and powdery and it reminds me of bad experiences when babysitting my nieces and nephews (I dislike diapers, too). I've gotten it up my nose too many times to even consider putting it anywhere on my body. In short, I abhor talcum powder.
So here I was, sad and lonely, thinking I was doomed to wearing shorts under my skirts forever, or to not wearing girly things and living forever in pants. I've come to deal with the chafing under my ya-yas with a bit of deodorant, but even that's been wearing out a bit with my dry winter skin. I actually had to take a day off from my bras! I was talking to one of my co-workers about these woes (since we're all pretty open about stuff) and she suggested one of the dusting powders.
I thanked her for her recommendation and then promptly tossed it out the window, thinking that any sort of "dusting powder" would be stinky and talc-like. The next week, we had a meeting in which we played a game. My team won, and we each got to pull one item out of a bag. Lucky for me, I got Silky Underwear Dusting Powder.
It sat on my shelf for a few days, staring at my woefully, but I did not want an icky talcum smell to interfere with my beloved perfume. But finally, I gave in, and was pleasantly surprised.
Rather than an icky, powdery smell, it smelled like jasmine- which you all have probably read is one of my favorite scents, with a bit of an undertone of vetivert. It was light and fresh and perfect for reminding me of spring days during the approaching winter months. I even wore a skirt to work the next day, and sure enough, Silky Underwear had done it's job.
To compliment the fresh scent I had in my no-no bits (thighs, pits, and under the melons), I even picked up the solid perfume in this scent. It's an amazing light jasmine scent with a hint of green- it smells like springtime. It's just the thing to warm me up with thoughts of spring and summer!
What about you ladies? Ever tried a "dusting powder"? Does it keep you lightly fragranced and, ahem, fancy free?

Long live Lush dusting powders, the savior of hoo-has and boulders! I too am a Lush-a-holic. And it is one addiction I do not intend to give up! The shower jellies and soaps are unlike any product I've ever used. My favorite scents are Fig Leaves and Honey I Washed The Kids :D
Okay, what is in the coffe and/or water that you all drink that make me guffaw all the time? I had a horrible day with my head pain, but I just laughed it away at your savvy description. Hey, Vexy, you just solved one of my Christmas gift dilemmas! I'm not up to buying much, but my husband complains of the same thing, though I don't know why he does. THIS IS IT--THIS IS WHAT I'LL GET HIM! He is addicted to talcum powder and, when he's through in the bathroom, I remind him that he created another "Cocaine Storm" and will get us arrested (no, never touched it, never will, just kidding). Thanks, lovely!
I LOVE that you're sharing the LUSH with us!!! I am a ho' for the stuff,seriously...there are currently baskets of it near my tub and I still feel the need to collect MORE,LOL! I'm not a duating powder girl but as I DO suffer from the "affliction" of the DD's,I'm going to put it on my perma-list of "must have's" to buy next time I visit the store and thanks for the great ideas on how to use! We all have our little addictions...:)
Gigi- I'm glad I could help with Christmas! You might want to try Karma dusting powder for your man. It's a much more manly scent- orange and patchouli. Very gender neutral. Good for guys!
Silky Underwear is my alltime favorite Lush product. So many of the things from that store give me a headache or smell like Hippie, but S.U. is divine. Also? I wish they made a lotion that had that fragrance.
This just gets better! He LOVES the scent of orange and patchouli and now I'm really excited. I was a tad hesitant about the other, but this is even better. Much appreciated!
OMG Vexy...I'm glad I'm not the only one who has 10 different euphamisms for my girlie parts!SO FUNNY!!! I have the same under the "boulders" problem as I'm extremely well endowed (which I hate to NO end...these suckers are getting reduced after I have a baby) and I use a dustingpowder from Crabtree and Evelyn that has a wonderful honeysuckle scent called Summer Hill that is talc free!. I LOVE honeysuckleand jasmine so both of these would be up my alley. They've opened a Lush here in Rosevilleand I'm pretty sure I'll give the Jasmine a try when my Summer Hill runs out. Until then,us poor thigh and boobie rubbing sisters...wear a sports bra on the days you can't take itanymore. The lighter cotton (and NO underwire) helps heal under yah-ya boo-boos. Love to all!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
Do any of you ladies ever wonder what women used to do hundreds of years ago when they suffered as we do? How did they treat their beauty woes? I for one, am so thankful for all of our modern beauty conveniences! I have never used Silky Underwear. I have tried Monistat's Chafing Relief Powder-Gel. It works well. It kind of reminds me of the primer made by Smashbox, same consistency. It definitely has soothing properties, a little goes a long way and is easily applied. It comes in a user friendly tube that fits nicely in a purse. I don't remember if it's scented, it must not be because scent is so easily remembered. I used this to help me deal with constant sweating during mid summer heat. You can find this at any drug store. Silky Underwear seems much more feminine and luxurious. Maybe the Monistat should be used in a pinch when you run out of the good stuff! Thanks Vexy, great review!
I have been using Silky Underwear as my signature scent for a few years now. To make the powder easier to use, I put it in a beautiful canister and use a drug store natural bristle kabuki brush to sweep the powder all over me. I love the little solid Silky Underwear perfume. It is so easy to carry around.I get more compliments on this fragrance. I also have all the Karma (orange and patchouli) products. Like I said when I wrote about BIG, I can't afford to visit Lush very often. I just love, love, love all their products. Poor Vexy, I bet you go broke working there. I know I would

Silky Underwear is so nice. It is truly silky. It feels so nice. I have actually never tried it on my big thighs. But thanks to Vexy I will!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have really big thighs too. Even when I'm fit, I have humongo thighs. I never really like my big thighs, but my hatred for them always is the strongest as the temperature rises. I live in Texas not just any part of Texas, but the extremely hot desert like part of Texas. It gets so hot here. It is not uncommon for it to reach 115 degrees or more or a summer day. That means I resort to wearing as little clothing as possible, to stay cool. That means a lot of tank tops and shorts or mini-skirts. Shorts aren't so bad, because they usually protect my inner thighs. But when I wear skirts my thighs are constantly rubbing together. It's like they are magnets that can't help but become attracted to each other. They rub together and create a lot of redness and pain. I've actually ended up with an infection from my thighs rubbing together so much. And then when I have to be out in the heat, it gets so bad. My already painful thighs get bombarded by sweat and heat, making my inner thighs like the battlefield of a very gruesome war. My thighs hurt so bad I've literally almost cried before. I see women with even bigger thighs then me wearing skirts all the time. And I wondered, just wondered, how they handled this problem. I at first all of these women walked around being miserable like me. But then I read something online about women using powder on their thighs to prevent chafing. I was in heaven when I found this out. Powder works great for preventing pain and chafing. I'm just super glad I found out about this trick before the summer, or I would yet again be in agony. I have not tried this powder from LUSH, or any powder from LUSH, but especially after this review, I have to try it out.
This powder has the most amazing scent. Although, I have never tried it on my thighs, it is great to apply after a bath. It is a nice subtle, yet delicious, scent.
Last time I was int he lush store the sales clerk told me to rub the Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar or the Mange Too Massage Bar on my body and then rub the powder on top. These scent together are divine! I got the Mange too Massage Bar, I didn't the the Strawberry one but they both work great with the powder.
Going to LUSH today so I will definitely need to check this one out! Thanks for reviewing it!
