SCHICK'S QUATTRO FOR WOMEN! DRUGSTORE DEAL THURSDAYS!

Gigi here, with a Drugstore Deal . . .
I'm going to bare at all, at least when it comes to shaving. The longer the hair on my head, the better. Hair on my legs? For me, it's completely unacceptable. This personality quirk made me begin shaving my legs at age eight (what a "whacked" kid, to be sure!), fumbling with my father's dangerous double-edged razor, and then wearing woolen knee socks in the midst of summer to hide legs that looked like I had been ravaged by a wild beast. I do shave daily because silky, hair-free skin simply makes me feel good.
I was an original fan of Bic's disposable razors, as they offered more control and much less "ouch." From there, I experimented with virtually every razor available, from electric to other disposable versions, searching for maximum results in minimal time. There's a reason: My hair is coarse. After spending a year in hip-to-toe casts from a very badly broken leg several years ago, I was horrified when the final cast was removed. I was not fully human but half-gorilla! My leg hair isn't fair as my light coloring would suggest, but so black and thick that it is reminiscent of a forest (think of using a machete here for removal). I was advised by physicians not to eliminate the hair for at least a month to prevent further trauma. My husband Ron, my chief admirer who has never made one critical remark in twenty years, looked at the thicket in disbelief and gently asked me later, "A whole month? How about two weeks?" Point taken. Did I listen to the surgeons' advice? Certainly not, and I wasn't only influenced by my husband's comment. The furry texture was repugnant. As soon as we arrived home, I used Ron's beard trimmer to weed through the brush and then another to morph into a woman once more. Now consumers are overwhelmed with countless types of razors, all promising to be the consummate tool for hair removal. I wondered if an oscillating version would help but thought back to Meg's take on "SpinLash." I then opted for a more basic razor which is highly effective, Shick's Quattro for Women.
It sells in drugstores for about $10.00, depending on the number of cartridge refills in the package. I find it far superior to other products, and it has become a beauty staple for me. Why? It's a vivid pink (I like pink; I'm a "girly girl," so bear with me, please). The handle is textured and ergonomically shaped so that it can be firmly grasped, very important as I do my flamingo-like, one-legged daily stance in the shower as I shave. I appreciate the suction-cup holder included; it adheres to the shower wall and is movable, making my ritual less time-consuming. The four ultra-thin blades remove hair easily and comfortably. It glides and flows with my body's natural contours--no tugging or pulling on legs or the tricky area under arms. I actually don't feel the razor, but I'm left with a marble-like surface afterward, with even the tiniest hairs gone. Goodbye to butchered gams! This razor could not be more tender. The head pivots slightly but doesn't aggravate me as so many do--they move too much and I've wound up with damage from an unruly blade. Shick's Quattro has a conditioning strip around the blades enhanced with Aloe and Vitamin E, making it even more of a pleasure. I no longer sing "Werewolves of London," but belt out Christina Aguilera's "I Am Beautiful" as I shave and shower.

I have been using this razor for about 6 months now & love it! It is very easy to hold in the shower no matter how slippery my hands get & even my Mediterranean-thick hair is banished w/ this!! Love it - pink or not! :)
I am lucky, very little fine hair. But...like Gigi, I shave because I love the smooth feeling. I have been using the "mens" version of this razor for so long, I can't remember when we got it. I believe it was a tester that came in the mail and I just have been buying refills. It is great. I am not sure what the difference between the mens and womens would be, but it is a keeper.

I too always use a Mach 3 for my little tree trunk hairs (oh how I hate it). But sinceI braved waxing a few weeks ago I'm still stubble free. This sounds like a good razorto try instead of constantly stealing my husbands. If I don't keep up the wax thingI'll give it a try!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
Sounds like a good one girl and pink to boot,LOL! I shave every single day too even though it wouldn't be necessary because as you say,it just feels nicer!Looking forward to picking one up and getting rid of the men's "Mach 3" I have used forever because it does seem that theirs work better! Thanks for the great review!!!
Finally! a girly razor that works like one for men. It's sturdy metal and just feels nicer to hold than cheap plastic models. I have fairly thin leg hair so I can be pretty lazy with the razor work, but this definitely maintains the smooth factor for a couple of days. Less razor usage required= less waste/going through fewer cartridges. This was a nice addition to my shower.
OK, so I bought the Quattro and it works just as well as you said. Thanks for the tip. I had been alternating between Intuition and Venus. I liked not having to use shaving cream, but they just didn't get me as smooth as I wanna be. So they'll be reserved for my travel bag. At home, I'm using Quattro and shaving cream, and I'm smooooooooooooth as can be!

haha i love your posts so much personality! i agree with wanting to belt out some great tunes after getting out of the shower after shaving with shick quattro for women. i have the shaver with the trimmer on the other side though which works good. but honestly with or without that thing i love this brand of razors. you pair this with any of the aveeno shaving gel and it's heaven. but for people who are in a rush, on the rough side with shaving, or just don't have the fancy great razors definitely shave with the aveeno positively smooth shave gel.that bad boy will not only heavenly moisturize and protect your skin while shaving but really does do the magic. i mean i honestly do shave less often and when the hair grows back because personally i think it's such a great hair conditioner i find the hairs are thinner. don't have any irritation, knicks, cuts, ingrown hairs and all that hoopla when shaving with it. best of all it's great with even the most of sensitive skin.
Hello Ladies, I have gone onto Sams Club.com, I also have a sams club card. You can buy a schick quattro razor with w/ 12 cartridges for $19.84. Its a great deal.
I love love love this razor. It is like the slogan goes strong enough for a man, but made for a woman. Women's razors used to be lousy compared to men's. I used to actually buy and use men's razors to shave with, just because they worked so well. This razor works well enough to be a mans razor, but is pretty for a woman. I love this thing!
Back when I shaved my legs (I wax them now) I tried these and they didn't leave a very good impression...
What do you think of the New Schick QUATTRO for Women TRIM STYLE? They just came out with it and I've only been using it for a few days now, but I already like it's better than the stupid Venus one I've been using since high school. The Trim Style razor is a bit smaller and it has an electric, waterproof trimmer on the opposite side. This is the only Razor thing i've seen out there that specifically says it is for the bikini area. My old venus, which I use for my legs, gave me irritating, ugly bumps where I shaved, but so far... this New Schick QUATTRO for Women Trim style is working out great! The bumps are even disappearing! yay! And that's helpful b/c i'm a lifeguard this summer.
I really like this razor. I don't shave my legs that often, but the Schick Quattro works really well for my legs. I find that because of this razor, I don't have to shave that often. This razor gets all the finest of fine hairs, and I don't get nearly any many cuts or scrapes as I did with any of the other razors I've tried.
i love these shavers with the little wires across them, i use this one the most. I need to use the ones with the little wires across them or i get cuts all over myself.. bit clumsy, these ones are great!
makeup makeup makeup!!!!!!!
Definately 5 star for me.. this is my razor and i love it! I have very course dark indian hair and this is one of the few razors that get close to the skin the first stroke. Plus no irritation afterwards makes it a huge plus in my books. I find it gets all the hair around my knee as well.. doesn't get clogged with cream as often as some of the ofther razors i've had ( venus ?! ) .. It's not expensive and if you dry off the blades with a hair dryer afterwards they last an extra long time !
This razor is great, it leaves my legs really smooth and the blades lasts a long time!
is this mens razors? I've always heard that men like girl razors better but I woud try the men ones.
This razor is the best one. I tried disposables too, they are also great.
I have been using this razor for years now, and I don't plan on changing ever! My philosophy is, if the options are pink or anything else, go for the pink! So of course I loved this razor even before using it. My legs are always nice and smooth after using and the blades last a long time.
I didn't really care for this...it didn't do that great a job. Glad it worked for others.
i have the disposables of these, and they were OK..Definatly have to work on getting the one with the disposable cartridges!
I've gotten several of these for free at CVS and Rite-Aid by combining manufacturer coupons with the store savings (ExtraBucks at CVS or Single Check Rebates at Rite-Aid), and they seem to work well. Having four blades can sometimes be a downfall, like if you use it a couple times and the blades aren't as sharp as they once were, the razor burn is so much worse with four blades than if there were just two dull blades scraping your skin. But if you only use it two or three times, it's great.
The packaging looks fierce. Makes me want to buy one. Pretty up my bathroom haha. I only use disposable razors, the cheaper kind.
i tried that once...didn't go so well....

Yes! I was just talking about how I need a new razor earlier. Mine is totally worn and can't be used anymore, and I want a fresh one. I am going to the store to look, but now I think I might just go with your selection . . (:
