BURTS BEES ROYAL JELLY EYE CREAM! GREEN CHI TUESDAYS!
Sweetassgal here here to bring you the best natural and organic products our Mother Earth has to offer us by the way of Green Chi Tuesdays!
I know we're all beauty diva's here at Meg's...but what trumps a diva? A Queen Bee! And deep down, don't we all want to be the Queen Bee?! Think about it for a moment. In this glorious position you reign supreme over your entire colony, completely unopposed and constantly doted on by hundreds of worker bees who slave to build you a perfect home, clean up after you, and feed you all the Royal Jelly you need to stay young and beautiful. Where do I sign up?
Though my husband treats me like the Queen Bee (insert gagging sound here...I know its sickening but its true!) by nature I could never just sit around and let everyone do everything for me. But I would cash in on the Royal Jelly royal treatment! European women have been utilizing the beauty effects of this highly prized and natural serum for centuries. Royal Jelly is packed with B complex vitamins, crude proteins, and amino acids that keep the Queen Bee alive and healthy for up to 7 years...a typical worker bee survives about 6 weeks. That is truly amazing stuff and further proof that our splendid earth provides us with all of the natural miracles we could ever ask for. What better place to find Royal Jelly products then the consummate bee experts at Burt's Bees!
We all know and love Burt's Bees products. In fact I don't know anyone that doesn't or hasn't owned at least ONE of their fab little concoctions. They simply create wonderful, earth friendly, natural products for you, the environment and the greater good. All in all this is one rockin' company worth all the buzz (get it?) they get! My new favorite Burt's Bees offering....Royal Jelly Eye Creme.
This effective eye treatment helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as combating eye puffiness...and it really works for me! I've been using Mary Kay cooling gel for years but MK won't list its ingredients so I'm phasing out those products in favor of earth friendly items that tell you what it is you're putting on your body. This little eye balm is a great replacement and shrinks my morning puffy eyes. I, unfortunately, always end up sleeping on my face and wake up looking like one of those cartoon characters who stick their thumb in their mouth, blow...and instantly puff up their head to comedic proportions. The best way to use this balm (I call it a balm and not a creme because of its slightly thick consistency) is to rub your fingertips together and get them warm, then glide your ring finger across and let the heat from your fingers bring up the product, then pat (do not rub) around your eyes. Use sparingly as this can be heavy or feel greasy if you don't and the excess won't absorb. Lots of beauty reviews say it works well for dark circles too but I can't attest to that.
Royal Jelly, one of nature’s most nourishing substances, is packed with 134 nutrients, including 17 amino acids, B-vitamins and vitamins A, C, D and K. It's blended with soothing aloe vera gel, apricot kernel oil and vitamin E to create a nourishing treatment for the delicate skin around your eyes. Very nourishing, royal jelly is made of nectar, pollen, flower parts, vitamins, minerals, and other natural ingredients. It is a very precious, mysterious substance that honeybees produce and feed to only select young bees, which in turn become mature and fertile queen bees. The queen bee lives 40 times longer than her worker bees.
Anyone else out there a fan of Burt's Bees Royal Jelly Eye Creme? Post a review and keep us all buzzing! And don't worry...no bees were harmed in the making of this review (or in BB's products either!). All hail our very own Queen Bee Meg...GLAM ON megsmakup gals!

I just got the Burt's Bees Royal Jelly Eyecream yesterday. First there are two I got the one in the yellow box. It is GREAT stuff. I could tell a difference with the first use. And I can say I have ever used a product that worked with only one application. I got it at our local Hy-Vee grocery store! I wished I could pick up all my products at the grocery store! You will never spend $11.00 on a better eye cream.
Okay, so I went out and bought this stuff after reading about it. I have the tinted lip balm and love it. So I thought, why not, I need to be using some eye cream anyway. So far, so good, I've used it the past two days and I really do like it. I had been using the Olay Definity moisterizing foam and after reading champ3377's reveiw, realized that I had been using under my eyes, not knowing that it would cause puffiness. I thought I was just not getting enough sleep. Duh... Now I know. So thanks for that tidbit of information champ.
Sweetassgal...You natural wonder of a woman! I completely enjoyed your review of the royal jelly secret ingredient infused eye cream made by Burts!!!! That was SO well written! I had to read it a couple of times! The part about sleeping on your face was hysterical! I can relate - I have a pinched nerve in my neck and apparently the worst thing you can do in my condition is to sleep on your stomach and face! The realization that all night long I am on my stomach and my neck is craned way the heck back as I am simultaneously face down on top of my 18 inch thick pillow - this is a bad contortion that I never thought about! I love sleeping on my stomach! I sleep with a satin pillow case (not because I’m fancy) but I read that it helps avoid pressed in wrinkles on face sleeping women and I believe it really helps!! I have not tried the Burt’s bee royal eye jelly but your review made me want to try it! I also love MOST of the Burt’s line of products but gave a definite thumbs down to their HONEY lip balm. Ewwww. I hated the smell and every time I put it on my lips I made a grimace. I gave a Burt’s 3 lip balm kit to a friend who never has any lip balm and she loved 2 of them! However she gave me back the ‘honey’ and said...”The smell - makes me gag”. I’m hoping the eye cream either smells lovely based on ingredients or else has no lingering smell. Thanks for such descriptive input! I loved it!
Jeanasina!
Hello everyone! Just a quick heads up that the Royal Jelly Eye Cream I tried comes in thepurple box with a little white jar and silver lid. It has aloe vera in it and no bees wax like the one pictured does. Very close products with practically the same name but the one I tried was a bit more creamy and less waxy. My fault for not realizing they had two productsso similar...I would have made the distinction had I known. Have a GORGEOUS day all!

This is a pretty mild eye cream...I can't guarantee it but I imagine with aloe and othernatural and light ingredients that it might do really well for your sister Gigi. Itsnot loaded with chemicals like other eye creams that can irritate. Only problem maybe if she's allergic to the royal jelly but from what I've read that's pretty infrequent.I'd recommend she try it for the soothing properties of the aloe alone. Hope it workswell for her...let me know!!

I purchased this eye cream after reading your review. Now, I love Burt's Bees, but must temper my enthusiasm, as my boyfriend is not such a fan. (He despises anything tingly on my lips. I adore anything tingly on my lips. Sigh.) I love this eye cream. My under eye area has always seems extra thin and dry. (I am that special brand of pale that allows you to see straight through my skin. When I was young, I appeared to be blue in many photographs and ALL home movies. This was particularly traumatic growing up in the deeply tanned south.) Heavy eye creams never seemed to work - too much goop. But this one is light and super-moisturizing. I swear, the beginnings of crow's feet I'm starting to see are softening. Huzzah!

Not sure I can add much to sweetassgal's sweet ass review, but I have been using this eye cream for about a year now. It has brightened up my eye area & pretty much eliminated puffiness. It keeps my eyes well moisturized & I haven't noticed any new lines since I started using it. And, BONUS, it smells soooooo feminine. But the smell doesn't linger, jeanasina, & it definitely isn't a sweet or honey-type smell. Try it, you'll love it.
If this is anything like their other products, it's definitely a winner! I love, love , love Burt's Bees! I'm so glad you reviewed this, as this morning, much to my dismay, I awoke with my right eye more puffed and wrinkled than I'v ever seen it! I thought, "Alas, my time has come! :(I immediately started rummaging through my vanity tackling all those sample eye creams I have accumulated. Then another thought hit me as I caught my blaring right eye staring back at me in the mirror. This is all because of my newly found love!...My dirtbike! You see, this weekend, I rocked on it! Except for the time I was trying to show my girlfriend how to go down a really steep hill. Both of our husbands were at the bottom waiting for us. My friend was frozen in fear, so I told her to just watch me. Well, I made it down the mt. alright! Half way down I managed to gas it while trying to grab the fromt brake, and panicked! So I gassed it even more. I came flying down the mt. and narrowly missed a tree at the bottom. But I still didn't stop there! There was about a 15ft. cliff going up the other side at the bottom. It was only after my bike climbed that about 6ft., (because I was still on the gas!), that I thought, I have got to get away from this bike! So, I just let go of the handle bars and gracefully stepped back off the bike without even stumbling! I should get points just for that, right?! As I watched my bike fall 6ft to the ground, I turn to my friend,( who is still at the top of this hill with a horrified look on her face, and told her, "DON'T DO THAT!". We were all laughing until we cried! She eventually made it down and we cont. on our ride. I was riding along a cliff and it was real rutted out and I got squirrely on my bike and it just slammed me down onto my left side! Haven't been able to sleep on my "preferred" left side since, hence the wrinkled and puffy right eye! So, am I starting to show signs of wear and tear because of the aging process or is it because of my newfound hobby? Who cares? When I have products like these in my arsenal!
BTW...I didn't want to get preachy in my review but I really wanted to talk a little more about the environmentally friendly and responsibile people at Burt's (and Gigi isright...there IS a Burt!). Not only do they donate 10% of their profits to agencieswho help the environment, but they ALSO save thousands of acres of Maine forest landfrom development, sponsor a Planet Earth Celebration in NC, building houses for Habitatfor humanity and have been focusing on education and information about Colony CollapseDisorder in bees. For anyone who does not know this is a VITALLY IMPORTANT issue anda HUGE WAKE UP CALL for our nation. Bees colony's are failing and bees are disappearing. This is a big issue for us as bees aid in the pollination of hundreds of fruits and vegetables. If they don't find out WHY this is happening our food supply could be ingreat danger...not to mention the loss of another species on this earth. Its very, very sad and is YET ANOTHER slap in the face telling us to wake up and take care of theonly world we've got. I tried SO hard not to get up on my soapbox about this in thereview but I still wanted to put it out there. Support green initiatives and find outways to help take care of our mother earth. She'll thank you by providing you with the most beautiful place in the universe to live!

I noticed a huge difference in my undereye dark circles and skin texture after a couple of days of use. This really hydrates the skin around my eyes without being too greasy. I have added this to my repertoire of Burt's Bees products -- I am a huge fan of all of their products and the company.
I too love Burt's Bees philosophy and they they put their money where their mouth is in all respects. That being said, I do appreciate the quality of their products, and they do seem to work on a fairly mild level, but I really don't care for the scents of any of their products, save the Coconut Foot Cream - I'd EAT that it smells so wonderful.I've tried to ween myself INTO their products repeatedly, usually starting with a simple lip balm or lip shimmer. Just cannot get past the sweet scent - makes me nauseous, repeatedly. Darn it.
I really wanna try this!I've used a few different Burts Bees products and I do like the majority of them, but I agree with mrsripper about the scents, I find some of them to be so sickly. It's a shame because the products themselves are amazing.
I feel about this as I do about all the Burt's Bees products I have tried. They're good, maybe not great, but because I really believe in supporting a company who supports the environment, I buy from this line fairly frequently.
I agree with makeupper the scents can be really nasty. I'm sure this is a great product but I'm not sure I would use it because of the smell. Or maybe I am just being picky about it.
Haven't tried this particular product, but I thought I'd chime in on the Burt's Bees fragrance debate!! The first time I tried the Honey Lip Balm I wanted to gag. Uggggggggggh I couldn't imagine putting it on my lips on a regular basis! However, I reached a point where I was out of lip chap and the honey stuff was my only option..and now I love it! It takes some getting used to (and I still like the pomegranite better) but I enjoy putting it on now. I've found that with many of the Burt's Bees products I'm not too keen on the flavour/scent at first, but it always grows on me.
"is packed with 134 nutrients, including 17 amino acids, B-vitamins and vitamins A, C, D and K." sounds great.
This is one of the better eye creams that I have tried. Although I am young, I think it is better to prevent wrinkles at a young age.
Oh my goodness, I didn't even know they had an eye cream, now I must go on the hunt for this! I have been looking for an eye cream because...... im almost 30 and frankly it's starting to show now. My skin is incredibly sensitive as of late and I cant use a lot of products on my skin :( I love eye serum and natural is seriously all my skin can take :( It's incredibly irritating. I am seriously off to go get some of this.Thank you kindly for the review! It is Greatly Appreciated from a "sensie" like myself
ive always trusted burts bees
Got a sample of this in a head to toe kit i bought at xmas. Wasn't that impressed with it, to be honest. Found it a bit too thick and difficult to blend with my skin. Consequently, left my eyes feeling heavy and sticky. :(
I bought this yesterday and used it last night. You only need the tinest bit or it does get a little greasy. It soaked in pretty good. I got the radiance eye cream not the one shown here. I don't have any lines yet so this is purely preventive for me.
ooh ive heard a lot of thing about royal jelly but i don't know what thinking but your review sounds great !!!
I really don't like saying this but I hate hate hate this product. I used a tiny pinky-finger dip between both my eyes and with my dry skin, it surprisingly felt greasy. Then my eyes started to water and my eyelashes felt sticky and I just had to wash it off. I tried this for two weeks, a while ago and will stick with Juara Sweet Black Tea Eye Creme--much better in my opinion.

I have been wanting to start using an eye cream but have been hesitant to pick one because it seems like they all have mixed to bad reviews. I am a fan of Burt's Bees lip products but have not tried anything else from their line. I have not noticed their eye products in my drug stores, so I am going to have to send the bf out to look when he is home in the states. I will need to make him a list of everything I need and can't get in Canada!
I just started using this not too long ago; I figured I'm getting to the age where I really need to start preventing wrinkles that I'm sure are soon to come! It is a little greasy so you really only need a tiny bit, it definitely goes a long way! I love Burt's Bees & I think all their products are amazing. I have yet to be disappointed with any single Burt's Bees product that I have tried.
I love Burt's Bees products, but I've never used any eye creams. I will have to try this out (if I can find it in Canada), it sounds amazing! Maybe I'll get it for my mom, she's always complaining about her eyes...

i love this
I always see this at the drug store and pick it up and then put it back down, lol. After I finish my current eye creme, I think I may just go for it because of this review. I'm such a push over!
