J.R. WATKINS HAND AND BODY LOTION IN "LEMON CREAM"! BODY BEAUTIFUL!
Jeanasinahere Hello Ladies! Have I told you about the time I was floating on a raft in the Dead Sea, my body covered in barnacles bigger than the ones seen on any ship? Well I can’t remember if that really happened to me or not or if it’s just a lovely fantasy but I can relate another story to you concerning my adventures. Today we are going to talk about memories...things that take you back to a gentle time in your life when the smell of lemony girl scout cookies made you feel SO happy inside and out!
I was walking through the downtown mall finding no new shops to explore so I thought “What the heck...I’ll go into the Log Cabin Minnesota Gift shop” where every freakin’ item in the store mentions the fact that it came from Minnesota. At this point in my narrative, I’m sure some of you have already tuned out and are searching frantically for another review on some high end beauty product that the stars on “Gossip Girl” are currently using but there IS MORE to my story than the words “Log Cabin Store.”
So as I browsed through the desirable moose heads displayed prominently throughout the shop and the always lovely fishing lure earrings, I happened upon a shelf with lotions on it! I am always interested in lotions and my number one criteria is..HOW DOES IT SMELL?
Well from a time when red full lips were best achieved by attaching crazed bees to your lips back in 1868, there were products made by J.R. Watkins which unbelievably are still around today and happened to be on a display in this shop. I saw a riveting label on a hand & body lotion that said “Lemon Cream” and of course I had to get my eager snout up and into the bottle immediately without hesitation!
Do you know shop personnel are really not big fans of you taking the caps off of things and then squeezing the contents of the container to see if you can get a good SMELL of the product? Well the store clerk happened to be looking over at me just in time to see me give the bottle a squeeze for smelling purposes, only to have a giant glob of the lotion shoot straight up my nose and into my sinus cavity at that exact moment.
I found a Kleenex and tried to blow the lotion out of my nostril - I’m sure it says on the label “CAUTION: DO NOT INSERT INTO NASAL CAVITIES” - oh well.
Mortified but interested I put the cap back on the lotion bottle and then starting applying my personal ‘test’ quality control applications on my hands, arms, shoulders and after checking to the right and left, I snuck some up on my chest and neck! I just loved the smell! I completely forgot that I was I the middle of “Gone Fishing” headquarters and couldn’t stop smelling my own hands and other body parts...everywhere I had applied the yummy sampling! Don’t put it on your knees though - it really looks like a one woman freak show if you are trying to smell your own knees in a store! They frown on that big time!
I practically ran to the cash register lady with several bottles in my arms and gushed about how great this lotion was! She didn’t really care how happy I was and took my money. When I got back to work my girlfriend said “WOW! You smell amazing! What IS that?” I told her about my 1868 beauty secret. Men apparently love this yummy fragrance too! Be warned you could have a male figure appear suddenly wanting to search your body with his nose trying to discover where this memory stirring scent is coming from on you!
The lotion goes on fast and sinks in and you WILL find yourself smelling your hands as often as possible. It is entirely up to you if you want to bother to explain why you have a new fetish which involves smelling your hands compulsively. That’s a wrap on this one ladies...even if money was no object I’d keep a bottle of this around just to continually bring back memories of warmth and the feeling of how good it once was to eat an entire box of lemon girl count cookies!
Keep your smilers on red alert until we meet again in a couple of weeks! Thanks for tuning in to another episode of Body Beautiful starring Jeanasina!
"This ultra-rich, nourishing lotion contains soothing aloe vera gel, panthenol (vitamin B5) and vitamin E, and moisturizing botanicals Light, non-greasy formula; refreshing lemon fragrance "
The cost is about $7.00 and I love it! Any other fans!

OMG...spitting coffee on the keyboard...THE funniest review EVER girl!!! The visuals are simply amazing andonly your hot-self could pull of such a caper in the midst of the "Log Cabin Store!" LOLROF! The JR Watkins AREa GREAT value for the money and I agree that the lemony-scent is totally fabulous, fresh, and no,you really shouldn'tsnort it but what the hay...we have to get our kicks where we can, right?Amazing review and I'm off to re-stock on this great product,Thanks!
I used to buy Watkins product from a local lady, similar to the old Avon lady. I had no idea they had their products in the store. Since I am a born and raised Minnesotan and have no desire to head back up there unless it is a dire emergency, any idea of what type of stores carry them. Our Colorado (every thing antlers you can think of) didn't have this yummy sounding lotion.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this lotion! I got some as a present and was a little skeptical. Igrew up in one of those towns who only got things via post (ordered from the mercantileor some vendor taking two weeks to get it...obviously pre-internet) and Watkins wasone of the lines that was available to us. In fact...the lady down the street from mymothers sold it. In my childish exuberence I thought her last name WAS Watkins becauseshe had a sign out in her yard advertising. I was 25 before I realized her name WASN't Mrs. Watkins! Anyway, having very little resources when you get out in the realworld you tend to try everything NEW and forget the old stand bys. I was SO HAPPY whenI opened this lotion and the YUMMY YUMMY lemon creme scent floated out. This is kindof crazy but to me it kind of smells like FRUIT LOOPS! Lemony...yes...but still a bitlike Fruit Loops and I love it. I too put it on and spend the next hour sniffing mypalms and breating in its nectar. Love it...and will CONTINUE to buy it as long as I can find it.
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie

As a retail worker, I'd like to interject about "shoppers like you." Now, I totally understand wanting to get a good whiff before you buy it. That's why we have testers at Sephora. But its when you come get our tweezers and dig a splinter out of your kids hand in the midle of the store andthen dont PAY for the tweezers you dirtied up...THAT I have a problem with. And lemon girl scout cookies...yummmmm. Where else can you find this besides log cabin tores?

I'm a Watkins rep and if you like this, you need to try the Lemon Creme Shea Butter.. it's thick and rich and amazing! http://www.watkinsonline.com/shellysmith
I love love love this lotion! I am the world's worst procrastinator and waited 'till the last minute to buy my son's pre-school teacher a "Teacher's Appreciation" gift. I didn't have time to get to the mall, so I ran into Wal-mart to find something in a pinch. Enter... J.R. Watkins Lemon cream lotion. This stuff is fab! You know the cream in the middle of lemon cookies? That's what this stuff smells like. Beware, you may be tempted to literally down the whole bottle! The scent lasts too. I ended up getting one for his teacher and one for me! I generally don't like to buy gifts of this nature from Wal-mart, but this is a total exception! And the packaging is so not "Wally-World"! Ladies, get this! You'll have the men eating out of your hands! Heehee, pardon the pun!
That sounds wonderful; I love lemon-scented creams! I am particularly enjoying Davies Gate Lemon-Made Foot Cream that I got at Bath & Body Works during the sale a while ago. It is a little bit like heaven.http://www.metrobeauty.com/Skin-Care/Foot-Care/Davies-Gate-Lemon-Made-Foot-Cream.html My family has been using Watkins products ever since I can remember. They are always of the finest quality, and the Watkins Medicated Ointment is a miracle cure for everything. (It's like Windex on My Big Fat Greek Wedding, except it actually works!) When I was little, I called it "medicatement."http://www.18hrwk.com/watkins-products/medicated-ointment.html
Sounds fantastic. I'll see if I can find it online as that is my only chance in obtaining it. My friends and I always smell eachothers lotions (which looks rather strange to most observers [then again my friends and I are strange])
They carry J.R. Watkins at some Fred Meyer's stores. I've seen it and have thought about buying it but wasn't sure... I absolutely LOVE lemon scented things though, so I'll have to scrounge up $7 to give this a try. Thanks for the rec!

Blue... you need to get some of this JR Watkins lemon stuff. It is so yummy. I keep sniffing myself! I smell like a big ole Girl Scout cookie! They used to carry it at Target, but no more. So good luck with Fred Meyer's.

I absolutely love this lotion, it smells incredible! It makes my skin so soft and the smell and softness lasts a long time! I'm so sad that Target isn't carrying it anymore!!!
This looks like an olive oil pourer but yeah I would love to try this, I love citrus smells, especially lemon, favourite! It'll be great to also have a lemon perfume, sounds weird I know.
I wish i had this!
