EAST 13.COM AND MY NIGHT AT THE PLAYBOY MANSION!
Meg here, so I first have to start by saying this, I don't like Playboy. I never had one of those dad's that had a subscription. I never thought it was cute to be a barbie doll. I'm generally nervous about the appearance of my body and I don't like "walks on the beach" or "self-assured men." My waist was 24" for 6 months when I was 18 years old. I generally am bossy and don't get along that well with others in a sandbox. I tend to order men around. I'm nobody's "playmate". To me, the idea of The Playboy Mansion was gross men, dumb idiots doing blow and cheap sex in a pool. After my night there, I have to say..I was not that far off.
So, before I go any further, I'd like to say how this happenstance came about. Yes, I had been invited several times to "The Mansion" for different parties and it never interested me. I don't like how the pictorals make us feel. I mean I literally picked up a Playboy from my guy friends coffee table and pointed to the Playmate. I said to him "I don't get it. She doesn't have a vagina. Is there something anatomically wrong with me? It's like she just has a Barbie V? He just looked at where I was pointing and shrugged. Then he said "No, you're fine. I've never seen one that looks like that in the wild."
So I think Playboy does a true disservice to all women besides the one they feature. I would love Playboy to do a pictoral on me. I'd be all airbrushed and neat and perfect. I'd have no blemishes or marks or shadows and I too would have a perfect V!
Please.
Since I had always shunned the "Playboy Experience" it will be news that I did go to The Mansion last night for a soiree. I figured that I might as well go and check it out. I could be wrong and atleast I could go and say I had been.
East13.comand Liliya was my first call. If I was going to go I was going to go sexy/classy. NOT slutty/look-at-me desperado. I will post the appropriate picture once I get the USB for my camera. Right now all I have is my camera phone picture. Kristen and I went to East13.com and explained what I wanted. Something naughty but nice, glam yet gorgeous and what did they have? Well, I spent hours trying on everything there with a glass of champagne supplied the entire time. I settled on a crystal encrouched corset by Christies with undies and black lace boyshorts with velvet thigh highs to keep me warm. It was perect for me. Kristen donned red and black sequin top with red stockings and looked fantastic. Liliya knew our "problem areas" and showed us the latest styles to hide them and accentuate our great lady parts!
Next off to The Factory where Crystal styled our hair perfectly and our make-up was applied flawlessly. The Factory is a really amazing hair salon in Pasadena with a great DJ and expert stylists. They did a wonderful job!
You park your car in a lot and then busesa shuttle you up to The Mansion. It's like going to school. It's like going to school if everyone you went to school with was dressed like a whore. I thought my outfit was way out there. It turns out I was dressed like a Grammy, these girls were full on naked and only had body paint on their privates. I lasted a whole 3 hours there. The grounds were quite amazing, the food was delish, the attendees gave me tremors.
o matter how single and free I like to think I have become. the truth is, I'm not that comfortable. Don't get me wrong, I' pretty comfortable at this point with my body. I'm just not that comfortable with everyone else being comfortable with it.
What do you ladies think of Playboy?
Ladies, take it from me, if you want to add some spice look no further then East13.com they have it all!!

Interesting comments... and I agree with champ3377 about the impact of this culture on young ladies. But WOO HOO, Meg, you look incredible! Even better, you've got the right attitude!

Wow Meg...RUFF!! Great pic and I bet its even better on your digital. Congrats girlfor rocking the smart, confident, sexy, anti-bimbo look. I love it. Now on to Hefand the girls. The doctor is IN and here is MY prescription...EVERYONE go out RIGHTNOW and rent the movie BEAUTIFUL GIRLS (with Uma, Rosie, Natalie, and Mira circa 1996)or just go buy it because you'll want to watch it again and again. First off NataliePortman is STUNNING at 13 years old and wise beyond her years but Rosie delivers a tyraid about mens fascination with the "Playboy" image and how they let it perverttheir wanting of "real women". It's truly a classic movie and a very underrated flickby Ted Demme. Small town guy comes home to make life changing decisions and let goof Peter Pan. Rosie nails how I feel about the UNATTAINABLE and UNREALISTIC look oftodays Playboy Girls Next Door. I miss the ladies of Playboy...before even a littlepubic hair became enough to ban you from being a sexy bitch.
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
My god Meg, you look HOT! Most ladies (well, ME) would kill for a bod like yours. Show it off!!! Like Greenie, I'm a closet hooked on Girls Next Door, not because its wildly smart, clever, or inciteful but there's this curiousnessthere. I find myself wondering the same things as Greenie...are those 3 girls really his girlfriends? Do they all...you know...are they madly in love with Hef? I just can't imagine having those sort of feelings about someone mygrandfather's age. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Playboy is just a business and like any other business wantsto make money and it'll change with the times as much as it needs to. It seems to me that Playboy isn't the magazine anymore - its Holly, Kendra, Bridget (yes I know their names!), their show, the parties, etc. Is the magazine still popular and will it even be viable in the future with everything you can get on the internet? It'll be interestingto see what happens when Hef eventually passes...
i think that u looked extremely pretty... I think that playboy use to be hot but now I think that it's just a thing to get an image out there to other girls that we all have to look like that 24/7.... First of all I believe that u are way hotter then Playboy :-) I like some of their style of clothing but that's about it.
Thanks a lot, Meg- I was carrying my laptop around when I saw your photo and I nearly dropped it! My god you look FANTASTIC- classy-sexy, like a 50's pinup girl (definitely better than Playboy- euuuach). I am not a fan of Playboy, and I haven't been for a long time. Like many have said, it's a cheap image of women that's put out there. All the young boys (well, teenagers) that look at Playboy get the image implanted in their minds that the "ideal woman" will by thin, toned, and have big boobs. Unfortunately, that's not how it happens. It seems more than a little degrading to me to have women as "playmates", like they're little more than objects to be passed around. Plus, I remember seeing girls wearing Playboy Bunny shirts and earrings back in middle school and that repulses me even more- they're kids. They shouldn't be aspiring to be "escorts".
holy cow! it should be illegal to look that good! i don't know what i think about playboy but all i know is i would kill to look like that meg! carol b
Firstly and mostly you are HOT and GORGEOUS in that get up Miz Meg!And kuddos to you for feeling "good enough"about yourself to venture out in it! Being comfortable in one's skin is very sexy indeed. :)I have read Playboy since I was young...they were among the first to present works by Steven King and manyother writers and until say the past 10 years,I did associate the "look" of the Playmate with glamour andeven admired the many who used their centerfold as a "stepping stone" to a wonderful career or a great husband!I won't go into my "opinion" of Hef personally but will ay that there will never be anyone like him: love him or hate him,he got sex and pretty women out of the dark room and into mainstream America in a "classy" way, starting with Marilyn.Now...here comes the rest. In the past 10 years or so the "tone and presentation" of the mag have changed: it'sgeared more towards a "frat boy" mantality and instead of real and physically beautiful (and diverse!) womengracing the pages,it's become a VERY unrealistic "standard" for a young man to set in terms of real girls.Yes,they do go to the colleges and all and yes, they do keep the issues "current" but with Photoshop andall the rest,it becomes a "fantasy in cellophane" for many and that's probably where it should stay?Thrilled you got to visit the Mansion,I think it's a bit "creepy",LOL! (went there when I worked for a PRcompany years ago for a mall party) and much prefer the elegance and "fantasy" of the "Magic Castle!"Love that you opened the topic for discussion...YOU however could pose for a page in the mag with ease girl@@@
Playboy scares me. I agree with Champ about teens and even younger trying to achieve the airbrushed look of the girls in rag. I admit, I always wanted to be the most slim (never was) the most beautiful (never was) the most sexy (never was) and it was very hard on me until I was well into my 20's. Then I met DH and now I am all of those things. He loves me as is. Magazines such as Cosmo, Playboy, Cosmo, and so on are unrealistic. Do you know anyone who has seriously taken the advise of how to pick up a rich guy, how to have better sex, and all the other advise that doesn't even make sense. Years ago, one magazine chose the most eligible guys in cities across the country. The one from Colorado Springs worked at the same company as my hubby. The guy was a bum, lived with Mommy in the worse section of town, has a grunt job so didn't make a decent salary, was egotistical. The magazine airbrushed him, gave him a new background and career and he suddenly was the catch of our city of 500,000. Hubby said the whole company had a good laugh. By the way, he was fired because he couldn't perform his job of delivery supplies to the assembly line workers. soooo. how many of the girls in Playboy are really real?

Meg~YOU LOOK SO pretty!!!!! I love the hair and shirt, can't wait to see more pics! I bet you walked in there with class and style, and maybe tought a few of those ladies a lesson, hehe. I am not sure how I feel about it all, I mean I don't look at playboy, I have seen it before, and I do think that the girls are waaaaay too touched up to be considered human, but I think for nudie pics it is done with class (compared to alot of other things I have heard about...). Hef....ummm, I am not sure how he pulls it all off. I am a little embarrassed to say I have been known to watch the Girls Next Door and gotten hooked on it....I find it all so facinating, how does he get all these girls to fall for him, well I kind of know how, but one wants to have his babies! I guess those would be very rich famous babies though...so maybe she is the smart one, haha. Post more pics Meg, I would love to see!!
Playboy the magazine? Or Playboy the culture? The culture - cheap, unimpressive... but it doesn’t give me heart burn. The magazine - I have to admit, I read the articles. I gave FT a subscription for his birthday and wound up impressed by stories on subjects such as the business model of WalMart; pros and cons of nuclear energy, and the stranglehold the prison system has on the State of California. Maybe the layouts balance out the intellectual side of the rag?? I once made a comment about an article I’d read in Playboy, and a friend hissed at me - She went into a very ugly, hissing, angry tirade about my reading articles in a magazine that did little more than objectify women. Another friend (a guy) barely looked up from his omelet and commented on the typical magazine found at the end of a grocer’s check-out: Cosmo, In-Style, Vogue... that he felt the images in those magazines were far more damaging to young women and their self-image than just about anything in Playboy - They’re all airbrushed within an inch of their lives, but at least playmates have some weight on their bones. Since that comment, I’ve paid attention - FT seems to glom onto the trash mags I bring home - for the ads. Go figure.
The think I think you need to remember is that essentially, this is the vision of a single individual who, I would say, has a pretty marginalized view of society. (I'm referring to Hefner). I'm pretty sure that the vast, VAST majority men out there wouldn't completely ignore a beautiful woman because she isn't blond. They don't generally practice serial polygamy. And they don't have serious editorial control over one of the most widely read pieces of media in the world. It's just one old hack with a powerful weapon. Which I guess is pretty dangerous in itself. If you take it from this perspective, maybe its not quite so threatening. Besides, who wants to do it with some 82 year old manwhore? NOT me.
