NEUTROGENA HEALTHY SKIN REJUVENATOR! BODY BEAUTIFUL!
The time has come for all of you - young and old and even older than old to sit back at this time in your life and prepare yourself for my first Jeanasina review. I'm an official every other Wednesday Body Beautiful reviewer! Thrilling is one of the words I utter every time I read Meg’s note officially giving me power of attorney in the make-up world to represent on her site!
Hunker on up to your computer screen, slather on your favorite lip plumper and prepare to be uplifted! I have puckered up in the past and lip printed my own computer screen with at least 55 different shades of pink! And you know what? It totally messed up my screen! I can't see anything anymore! I’m telling you first hand - not even pouring Hilex Bleach right on the screen got that high tech lip gloss off! My computer is fried so I’m at the library now!
I’ll relate my recent experience with Neutrogena healthy skin rejuvenator! I am constantly on patrol monitoring my face and neck and especially my skin in the mirror. I can see every single flaw in my 600 amplification make-up mirror which is some REALLY scary stuff! My boyfriend the Harley man says I should stop looking in the magnification mirror but you know...it’s totally compelling to see if anything more diabolical has happened to your face since the day before when you last looked!
The Neutrogena healthy skin rejuvenator ad on TV and the ad mentioned ‘reducing the darkness of ugly embarrassing age spots’ - they probably just said age spots but I knew they meant ugly & embarrassing!
You are supposed to scrub with this on each section of your face for 1 or 2 minutes. I did it while watching TV to make the time go faster. The little scrubby pad is filled with some pleasant ingredient that will get even soapier if you run it under water several times throughout the procedure!
I did it exactly as the directions indicated, I was astonished at how soft my face was! I mean it was the softest I think it has ever felt in years! I diligently used it 3 times the first week as the directions state and each time I thought “WOW - this stuff really makes your skin radiant!
Then came week #2, I scrubbed a couple of days that second week concentrating on my temples because I have some large age spots there. Right around that time I noticed that on my temples there were about 50 small pimple type bumps which had cropped up and didn’t appear to be leaving any time soon. So now I had age spots and pink bumps!
I completely stopped using it which I hated to do because I loved how it made my skin glow. My esthetician told me that because I am an ’older’ woman my skin is much thinner now and that the bumps were reactions to OVER stimulating and scrubbing my elderly face!
I saw DR and he told me the bumps might never go away. So would I use this again...probably...I was thinking of trying it on my chest because that’s a virtual smorgasbord of skin damage - maybe if I’m gentle and do it only once a week it will be ok.
Any other ladies tried Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator? How'd it work for you?

The tiny bumps on your face that arose after a few days could very well be caused by the parabens in the formula. Those chemicals are derived from petroleum distillates, and irritate our skin, causing minute blisters. Yes, they are the same color as your skin. They should not be covered with anything stronger than a very thin layer of 100% Jojoba Oil - to keep out further irritants. Treat the area gently because, as my dermatologist said to me, "You are a delicate flower." Those scary bumps should disappear in 10-14 days. Have a healthy and happy leap year!
I bought the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator last week. I was SO excited to use it however; it wasn't a pretty sight after the first time I used it :-( I followed the directions VERY carefully and only scrubbed in each area for two minutes or less. It nearly put a hole in my skin.My check was really raw and it took about a week to heal. I'm not quit sure why that happened, but I do know that I WON'T be using it again anytime soon :-(
i have a "brown" spot on my face (sooooo not calling it an age spot) it was barely noticeable till i became pregnant... then it was dark like a black holethat seemed to be taking over my face (ok i exaggerate but my sister DID say what IS that on your face so it was kinda noticeable)... since having the lil munchkin, i can now resume trying everything short of sand blasting it off...the only thing that really seems to work... is exfoliating AND SUNSCREEN SUNSCREENSUNSCREEN.... i dont know if i'd give this a try... i'm really happy w/my glycoliccleanser & adding more exfoliation... might anger the "thinning" skin!!! but this was a great review, thank you for your insight!
I'm surprised this wasn't that good. I've loved all of Neutrogena's other things. I got the microdermabrasion set and I don't use it for that. I just use it at night to wash my face. And I got the wave which I really liked as well. The only thing I hate about Neutrogena stuff is it dries my skin out bad.
hey jeanasina, i just read your post about yourself and your love of aquaphor. did you by any chance put aquaphor on your temples to help heal them? just a crazy thought but 10 years ago i had co2 laser on my face. they told me to put aquaphor on it for a week all the time to keep it moist. i had more little bumps on my face than you could count. it is so occlusive it made me break out terribly.that might not be the case but it popped in my head when i read your bio. i have to tell you also you look awesome! you do not look your age. and i loved when you said you were going to go put a pillow on your boyfriend's harley!you are too funny-congrats on being an official tester-carol b
Congrats on your first review! I'll look forward to them every other week! I've been wanting to try this. If I'm right this is the stuff Diane Lane hocks right? Any chance it could make me look like her? No...I tried. I'm on a soft skin kick right now...bordering on obsession really. I don't have age spots yet but I DO have some scarring from past pimples. My fault mostly as I CANNOT stop picking at one...so maybe this will buff them away. It's worth a try. I try not to be too aggressive with my skin which has prompted my aversion to anything with the words "abrasion" in the title. I get this vision of my skin peeling away leaving me looking like beef carpacio. Maybe rejuvenation is just the marketing spin I need to give it a try! See you next time Jeanasina!
Love, hugs and shoes...Angie
ok i don't agree with your dr that those bumps might might not ever go away. thats crazy! sometimes when you exfoliate you take off the dead cells sitting on top and you have "issues" just waiting to purge.or its bumps from irritation and over exfolitating. but to say they may never go away is kind of harsh i think. skin can change drastically from bad to great with the right products.i am a huge believer in exfoliation. but you have to be careful not to do too much. i just read dr denese's skin care book and oh my gosh she is a proponent of exfoliation. you can do different acid peels which exfoliate or "manual" like this product. i am thinking that maybe there was too much "manual" labor for your skin with this. i actually have used this a little on my face. i really use it on my legs! do you think i am crazy yet? i use other scrubs too but i use this on my age spots on my legs-it is easy to kind of zero in on them with this product.ok enough preaching-carol b
Love the first review! I do not have this kit, but I did buy the Neutrogena Vibe - I think it's kind of like this, but for younger skin. It's more of a daily fash wace - but the same idea with the pads and scrubber thing. I really like it! I think when I run out of my home micro-dermabrasion products I am going to get this!
First of all, congrats on your first review, jenasina! It was wonderful! I'm still laughing at your use of "power of attorney"- makeup representatives we are, indeed! I've heard a few things about this, actually, both good and bad. I'm kind of afraid to try something like this, since my skin is fair and delicate and very susceptible to broken capillaries and scars that just don't go away. Still, it sounds like it might be good for exfoliating things like elbows, knees, and other places that have a tendency to get a buildup of dry skin. I've also heard that if you use it gently, and over your entire face rather than just an area at a time, it works better. Like Ruthie, it seems like the red bumps are just imperfections brought to the surface. They could be small cystic pimples or some other kind of regular skin impurity, too! Often times when using an exfoliator like this (or a washcloth or a scrub with granules/beads), it can spread the infection a bit before it starts clearing up. Still, I don't think this is going on my shopping list for a while- I'm too scared!
LOVE your review and although I am a basic-fan of Neutro, this and all of their "scrubby stuff"products leaveme a bit cold. I think they are well designed and well intended to bring that spa/dermo doc experiencehome, they fall short on application, ease of effective use and I believe that some treatments are justbetter left to the pros!Looking forward to hearing lots more from you!
Thanks for the article, I've only tried Neutrogena on a few occasions but never really gone back to it, however the only product I do continuously use is their hand cream, makes my mum's hand super supple and smooth.
I wish i had this!
I have used the same thing from Roc, i can't say I like it that much I prefer to do my scrubbing thing with my very own hands, it's much more fun!
