LOOSE PIGMENT MINERAL EYESHADOW! URBAN DECAY! GREEN CHI TUESDAYS!
Meg here, there's really very few things that make me as happpy as Urban Decay eye products. When Our own Badgirl hooked us up with a box chock full of purple goodness for the peepers I was in heaven!
Everyone knows the Urban Decay eyeliners are really just the most brilliant gems ever made and how many of our members would absolutely go beserk without them. They just have so many hits, I squealed with anticipation when I pulled out my tube of Loose Pigment eyeshadow in Yeyo (a shimmery white).
The thing thats really hard about the mineral cosmetic craze is that is usually leaves a complete mess on your face or on your vanity. Urban Decay designed this product keeping that in mind so that the brush is where the majority of your mineral loose shadow ends up. They don't have this concept down perfectly, I'm finding that noone out there really does but it is a big improvement from the messy pots.
I use to be all over the dark and smoky eye, for June nights though, I'm really having fun doing light and bright.
This bright white "YeYo" color is pretty multi-functional for me, one swipe under the brow bone and its a great day highlighter. You can really layer the color up for a dramatic patch of nighttime drama color with a few extra swipes of the included brush. I have a personal brush I like a bit more then the one included so I tend to pat out a little color and use a different brush-but you don't have to. There's little risk of breakage and all in one so if you want to just drop this in your cosmetic to go bag you'll be all set for any emergency applications!
I've decided to just relax and have fun this summer and I'm going to try out some of the Urban Decay funky colors that I would have been to shy to sport before~My eye's on you shattered!
Here's what Urban Decay says about their loose pigments "These powdery-fine, silky soft shadows deliver more intense color than pressed or cream eye shadows. Try a little for a sheer wash of color, or layer for bold, shimmering hues. With everything from bold brights to pretty neutrals, there’s something for everyone!
The Loose Pigment formula is actually mineral makeup, made from pearlized powders derived from minerals. No dyes or synthetic pigments are used.
Ladies, what do you think of your Urban Decay Loose Pigment Mineral Eyeshadows?

Before I received this for review looked at it in Sephora. I didn't try it on because I was turned off by how it was messy and clumpy just pulling out the brush/wand. So I received Shattered which is the teal green color picturedabove on the far right. I feel the same as Kate...I have issues getting it on - I get it everywhere, partially on myeyes and dustings all over my cheeks. Lolo had a great idea to put in a little dish and use from there because the applicator or shadow, not sure which, isn't very user friendly. I also found that Shattered, color wise, is a bit hard to work with. Its so bright and sparkley I'm not entirely sure how to use it. Is it all all over eye, or justa bit or used as an eyeliner? But I think I would love Gem's color. Not sure about this one.
I love shattered in the regular shadow and I used to wear the liquid liner all the time. It was really great with my green eyes.

I always use Lauren Hutton's products because they have base pastel colors. Which look natural, unlike the dark greens and reds.
Let me preface this with I love Urban Decay products. 24/7 pencils and the primer potion are dailies for me. But, I am a little bit stumped with the pigments. I don't think they're very finely milled and theyre sort of clumpy so its hard to get an even application. Is this just me? What am I doing wrong? I tried it out in BakedI was left confused.

I meant to say that you CAN'T do that with the green and blues. Green cheeks would look quite funny... ;-)
I received the loose pigment eyeshadow in Asphyxia, which is a bright pink w/ purplely shimmer in it. I thought the name of the product was quite appropriate, since I had an extreme lack of oxygen to the brain from the excitement of seeing a UD product in my package!!! This product is so damn clever, since I am always messing up my makeup bag with exploded pots of shadow. I just drop this little baby in my purse and go. The color is just fabulous - a nice cool tone for my fair skin. I also used this as a cheek color (make-up gurus, is this legal??) by brushing a little on my blush brush. I guess you can do that with the green and blues, but the pink color looked great on my cheeks. I love UD!
I have the Urban Decay "SHAG" color. it's gorgeous. It really offsets my blonde hair and blue eyes and is amazingly resilient through the day. Which is key cuz i shvitz. My only compliant is that it's messy. they application of the product is a little more style over substance. When you take out the shadow wad, it gets everywhere. It's not nice and neat. I find myself putting the shadow in a little dish and applying it with a different brush. But the actual shadow is wonderful.
Huge fan of Urban Decay, and wish I was brave enough to pull off the bright hues of the loose pigments. Shattered is gorgeous, and my personal favorite shade is Rockstar. Thanks Meg!
Ohh, how i love Urban Decay! I got Graffiti which is a bright green color, I love green (you all know that by my screen name)..so I really love the color. I like to put this on my eye right over the lid..I don't like it to much higher, and I don't like it all over the lid, it is too bright for me...but I do love it right over my lid, sort of like a liner...It stays on a long time! I use my UD primer potion under it, and it is made to go togehter! I really love that it fits right im purse, and I did find it flaked a little, but not as much as some other loose shadows I have tried. I love this color for nighttime!:-)
it's a little messy but pigmented true to form as Urban Decay - i just use a brush on it now

Pretty steep price for my liking but I'd try these when they're on sale.
they have some nice color my sister would love one of the green ones
I like the look of shattered. I am a bit afraid that I will just get it on my cheeks anyway...a onstant issue of mine. I think I will give it a try anyway.

i've been checking these out on ebay but i'm a little put off buying from there.
I love these! I have one in Baked and in Rockstar and they are so much fun. They can be a bit messy but I read a tip where you take the cap out of the bottle, put your eyeshadow brush to the bristles in the loose pigments cap and then use your eyeshadow brush to put it on (this really works, this is how I use them). This minimizes the fall out and if you pat them on you get some stellar color. Rockstar creates a glorious smokey eye.
I love urban decay but I'm afraid to try these....I don't like to mess with messy makeup.

I've heard that it's a good brand!
I really like the look of these, and the colors they come in, but I'm a little skeptical about the loose powder thing. I don't think I'd be able to work it.
I dont mind the pigment itself, but the packaging is ridiculous. The way they describe it on the UD website is all 'we know best' and quite condescending, when the packaging really is far from good. It's so messy and hard to get out the right amount of product. They have some amazing products, but dammit I wish they'd revise their packaging. I hate how their response to everybody hating the UDPP packaging was just to give it a slanted wand :| way to gloss over the issue. *sigh* I still love their stuff though/rantover
I love Urban Decay products but I havent been brave enough to try this yet as I could see it getting really messy!
Think I'll try their Stardust line first. Thanks for the reviews!
i love this
I don't use loose pigments that often because they tend to be really messy to use but UD has some amazing colours I would like to try!
