SUMMER MUST HAVES! SATURDAYS AT SEPHORA!
Summer Must-Haves 2008!
Every Saturday Kate brings you the best of Sephora as only an insider can!
Let's just make this an annual thing. Because, let's face it, everyone looks forward to something that only happens once a year. Your birthday, the 4th of July, being teased mercilessly at the Thanksgiving dinner table...so this is Katie's Saturday's at Sephora Summer Must Haves 2008! You can refer 2007 in the archives of the site too! :) One unusual thing to not though, is that some of the best things in sephora stores this summer were NOT featured in the Summer Catalog...which is good...because those things often sell out before we manage to unpack them out of the box!
Firstly, I am obsessed with Korres' Color. I wish we had it in my Sephora store so bad. I did read that it was going into about 30-40 more stores in September though...so good news for all you! I finally got to try a few of their products, I have an velvety eye shadow and some eye pencils and a gloss and I love them. That is the one advantage of Natural skincare's makeup lines (see also: Fresh) and I really feel better when I'm not plastering chemicals all over my face. The Korres Mediterranean Sun collection is a heck of a deal at $35. You get a Illuminating Bronzer, a Black Mascara and a Fuchsia Cherry Gloss (all full sized) in a cute little makeup bag. (I am a sucker for CBWP (cute bag with purchase). Let me know if anyone else has gone Greek...or just wants to see my vacation pictures from last year (in Greece) Haha.
For all of you that 'nixed the No!No! at a staggering $250, Bliss has the answer for you. The Bikini Perfect Deluxe is an electric razor with six different attachments (a precision trimmer, precision comb, epilator, micro shaver, micro trimmer, and eyebrow comb) to combat unwanted hair. You also get mini Lemon+Sage Body Butter and Scrubs and Ingrown Eliminating Peel pads! This $60 tool is shower-friendly and works for over half an hour off the charger! Again, CBWP. This is all stuff on the box and I am totally sold. I just need to get paid again and I just might invest.
I'm sure you all have seen the spamming of print advertisements for Fusion Beauty's Plump + Replump glosses. They're sort of liquid lipsticks but FULL color. And they. Are. Awesome! I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for them to come in because I was just so sure they'd be ok. But they were better. (Come to think of it I've liked everything I've ever tried from Fusion Beauty but you know...) They're $38, the same price as the colored glosses. They taste and smell good. They stay on really well. They're really hydrating. And the colors are gorgeous and wearable.
Several of you, I know, are Tinted Moisturizer Junkie, and I've found the next big one. Dior HydrAction Tinted Moisturizers - Deep Hydration Skin Tint SPF 20, to be exact. They come in four shades and they're $38 and they live up to every promise. I SWEAR you feel your skin drink up the water when you put it on. It also has some of the best coverage I've ever seen in a tinted moisturizer. Actually, the whole HydrAction line is fabulous...I'm totally loving the SPF 15 eye cream and I am also wanting to give the SPF15 Moisture Sorbet a go as well. Anyone else tried it?
What do you think of my picks!?

You all should take her word for it, I got text messages with so many exclamation points I swear I could hear her squealiing about that Guerlain mascara 1000 miles away. :) I'm still on the fence though. I have one and I like the idea of the double ended brushes that are different sizes but I have yet to really get them to work for me. Another plus is that the stuff just might as well be waterproof I can hardly get it off.

I do have to say that bikini kit sounds nice. Has anyone tried it out? Since I'm at the pool almost daily with my little ones, I can't go around looking like Miranda in the Sex in the City movie. (If you've seen the movie you'll know what scene I'm talking about.) Thanks Kate for the heads up on the new products. Can't wait to check them out.
TXTipster - that was pretty funny in the movie, which was predictable but still fabulous and I'd see it again in a heartbeat.

I have got to try the Fusion Beauty’s Plump + Replump glosses now! They sound beautiful. Tashagogo, I have missed you terribly! The Dior Skin Tint sounds heavenly. My summer must-haves: Peter Thomas Roth's Instant Minerals SPF 30, Sugar's Bronzer Duo, Nars Lip Gloss and Nail Polish in "Orgasm," Tarte's Smooth Operator Foundation (no surprise here), and Alison Raffael's Face Forward Primer. I am scheduling my trip to Cosmoprof in LV for July. Anyone else interested in meeting me there!? :) 38
Korres ia one terrific and well-priced line, started buying it when a friend lived in Greece and I was visiting there with some frequnecy. Their gift sets always give anough product to truly try--hate get sizes that last approximately four days--not long enough to tell. I think that their mascara rivals Sisley's--and at a better price point.Fusion is anothe rline that seesm to never miss.
I agree Kate. I loved it, but know my hubby would of been bored to tears watching it. I think it was the perfect chick flick to enjoy with your best girlfriends. I laughed and teared up a little. The Miranda scene was definitely one of my favs.
Tashagogo - I've missed you so! On a recent trip to Sephora, I smelled the Fresh-Cannabis Rose. It has been on my mind ever since! It smells so divine. YUM!! I wished they sold the body cream individually in a smaller size. Thanks for the tip on Guerlain. My summer essentials are Nars lip gloss (in Metis) and Sugar Bronzer. Kate, thanks for sharing your summer picks. I am looking forward to checking out Fusion Beauty’s Plump + Replump glosses now!
I love your Summer Sephora Must Haves. It's here in full force in the South. I'm definitely checking out the Bikini Personal Deluxe kit. I could use a little grooming;) I'm a sucker too for a cute bag. I have a nice little collection in my hall closet. So great for travel! I still have not tried any Korres products:( which is a sin. Thanks for the post!
Katie...hi baby...love you. I would just like to say that the lipfusion plump and replump is the freakin bomb diggety...I got it in bunny and I love it so much that I put it on when I'm in the house alone ...because it's THAT gorgeous!!! The last 4 purchases I made at Sephora were all hits with me..1) Guerlain-Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara ...This is the absolute best mascara that I have ever used....IMO it stomps all over DiorShow. The packaging is fabulous...its in a long space aged looking gold tube that has flat ends and won't fit into a teeny makeup bag..lol. It's got a brush on each end...one is regular sized and the other is a little tiny one that get all those inner and outer corner lashes and finds lashes you didn't even know you had. I fell asleep with it on one night and when I woke up my lashes were perfect...not clumpy or smudged at all. It's also the most expensive mascara I've ever gotten $35.00...but soooooo worth it. 2) Fresh-Cannabis Rose gift set...I really can't explain what this smells like because I'm just not good at it :-)..what I can say is that I tried this about a month ago at the Sephora in Times Square and I've been thinking about it ever since. Pauline (my skincare girl at my sephora) says that people either love it or hate it and there's no in between. This fragrnce reminds me of something I used to wear in HS called Maroc by ultima II. It smells really rich to me...and its got great staying power unlike another fav of mine Fresh-Sugar Lemon. My BFF bought me the gift set while she was here in Jersey last week...it's a steal at $45.00....perfume, lotion and body wash..packaged in a beautiful box with a ribbon...soooo darling.3)LipFusion Plump and Replump in Bunny (see top of this posting) :-)4) Ole Henriksen- Three Little Wonders...Many MM members rave about Ole's line. This was my 1st time trying it and I'm absolutely blown away. I LOVE Caudalie, but was feeling a need to switch up my skincare routine. This kit has everything you could need in it. It's got his star product Truth Serum (full size), Invigorating Night Gel(1oz) and Sheer Transformation (also 1oz) My skin looks so fresh, glowing and even toned. The products seep in so nicely and they smell wonderful...I'm really loving this line. These are generous sized products at a great price $65.00.Sephora is my comfort food....it's always there for me. I'm in my Sephora so often that I help customers when the salespeople are busy...I swear...almost all the associates know me by name...HELLO :-)
i am so jealous of the flawless skin that some have :( i want to have no pores too. it must all be in the foundations.
j.baby
