YOUNGBLOOD MINERAL COSMETICS! NATURAL LOOSE MINERAL FOUNDATION!
Meg here to talk about a brand that my good friend Severine raves about to me. "Meg, I love Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics! It's so amazing. It makes my skin look so great, I'm never going back!" Now there are two things to know about Severine. One, she never lightly throws her endorsements around, two she was a brilliant aesthetician before her nursing career.
It makes sense an aesthetician would love this line, it takes one to know one! Pauline Youngblood Soli created this line after she spent years working a medical aesthetician. Pauline was in daily contact with people who had severely traumatized skin. Unhappy with the options out there she created Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.
When your skin looks healthy and fresh you just feel better. I think nothing beats having a "bad skin" day. Sure, "bad hair days" stink too, but there's always the tried and true ponytail or bun lifesaver.
I'm really curious to see what you ladies think about this line since I've heard such ringing endorsements! Here's what Youngblood Cosmetics says about their Natural Loose Mineral Foundation " This incredibly unique silky powder is a foundation, concealer and powder all in one! It offers exceptional, high performance coverage, is easy to use and is non-comedogenic. The mineral foundation glides on all skin types beautifully to give natural, healthy coverage and a translucent glow. Available in our sleek, exclusively designed container with controlled distribution. With a tap of a finger, no more mess, no more waste ...it is the hottest trend in makeup on the market today!"
Ladies please comment if Youngblood left your skin looking fabulous!

I concur with Severine! This is a really nice mineral powder, like REALLY nice. The consistency is divine, totally light and airy and doesn't make you feel like you've got a mask on. But at the same time, the coverage is amazing. A quick dusting totally even outs your skin. But I have to say the thing that I found most genius about this is the container itself, flat and BIG. The diameter is probably about 3 inches wide so the lid is the perfect place to tap out the powder and dip your brush. Why is it most mineral powders come in tiny containers? Someone at Youngblood must have been annoyed by this too! Very Impressed with this product.
The first time I tried this it was like the Second Coming. Seriously, if it's flawless, natural-looking skin you want, look no further. Like Sevey said, it covers better than any product on the market. I also find that mineral makeup tends to make the pores on my nose accentuated, but primer helps in that department. But it really does what no liquid foundation has ever been able to do - covers your flaws while letting your skin shine through so you don't look "caked on", while feeling like you're wearing nothing.
I love Erth Minerals. I just couldn't afford to continue using Youngblood so switched a couple of years back. They are at http://www.lushbrush.com .A foundation by them is only about $12.00 rather than $30-40. That's a nice price for a quality mineral foundation...
If any of you have read any of my past reviews on make up I am a Bare Minerals snob. But when we received Youngblood Mineral Foundation I was intrigued one because as the other ladies have said the packaging is great. Much easier to get on your kabki brush. I had an issue with BM making my pores on my nose bigger and with Youngblood that was not the case. I like the way it looks on my skin, very natural. Be sure you either go into a shop to test the color before purchasing or call and speak to someone and let them help you pick out the color. I chose a color that was the same name as the one I’m using by BM hoping it would be the same, it’s not. But for the summer months it will be fine. Also their website is fantastic, very helpful with lots of suggestions to make using their products much easier.
One thing I think this product does better than any other is cover red, it can actually hide a blemish which is something most foundations can't do. This is one product where less is more. To apply it make sure you just shake a little into thelid, get a light covering on your brush, lightly dust onto the skin then smash it in with a dense brush in a circular motion. It works best if you work in little sections. To cover a blemish, dust over blemish then smash and swirl. The kabuki or the purseduster works best. If the product looks unnatural on your skin it's usually because you're not using the proper brush or you're using too much. It only has a few ingredients which are from the earth, it has a natural sun block, although I always recommend a sunblock under as well, and it lasts all day, even after a swim.
This powder is wonderful!!! Of all the mineral powders out there I think it may be the most natural looking! It gives full coverage quickly, but it doesn't feel like full coverage..its so lite you won't know its there!!which is wonderful. and like DD said the size is perfect.. the fact that when it's closed powder doesn't leak out! You don't waste any of it, its the PERFECT mineral powder package. A wonderful product thats a must have for any mineral gal.
It’s been at least a year since I joined Miss Meg and Severine for some happy hour cocktails, but I still remember Severine waxing on about Youngblood’s Mineral Foundation. I’ve had it on my list of things to check out ever since, so I was really excited we finally had a chance to review it here at megsmakeup. Like all the girls have already stated, this is the best Mineral Loose Powder out there. From the well thought out package (finally most of the product ends up on my brush instead of my vanity) to the great, smooth coverage; Youngblood passed with flying colors. I thought the color blended well with my skin, and really does tone down redness and blotches. This powder seems to float on my skin instead of settling into and highlighting my pores and fine wrinkles. If you’ve been intrigued with the promises of mineral powder foundations, but were disappointed with the results, I heartily recommend giving Youngblood’s great formula a try!
I love this stuff! And I have never, ever said that about a foundation before. It actually does a great job at the two things I need from foundation: 1) makes me look better when I put it on; 2) doesn’t make me look worse a few hours/days/weeks later because I’m so horribly broken out from it. I know these sound like they should be ridiculously easy criteria to meet, but in my case, it’s been nearly impossible. The first requirement is pretty easy. It’s the second one that’s tough. Sometimes the problem takes days or weeks to show up. I try to be very careful about only changing one product at a time, and giving them a chance, otherwise it’s so hard to figure out what’s causing the problem. Over the past year I’d been using a series of different mineral foundations - most recently Pur and Physician’s Formula - and while they weren’t causing any true breakouts, I was slowly developing a pretty serious milia problem. Not just around my eyes, but on my cheekbones, forehead, and even jaw line. This was a new problem for me. While these aren’t as glaring a problem as garden variety pimples, the scary thing is that they never seemed to go away! Anyway, I’ve been using Youngblood for two weeks now, and not do I love the way it looks and feels on (no echoes of fingernails-on-the-chalkboard), I am not breaking out, and the milia are starting to go away! I have the Mineral Rice Setting Powder in Light (use for both priming and setting) and the Loose Mineral Foundation in Barely Beige. I use a tiny amount of each but they do a great job of covering red. And they walk the perfect line between flat and dead looking and too metallic-glowy. They just make me look healthy. The only problem I’m having is that the Staniac I use on my cheeks doesn’t blend as well as it used to. But this is a small price to pay. I’m running low on my Staniac, so may try one of the Youngblood powder blushes...Anyway, thank you for recommending and reviewing this product. I doubt I ever would have heard about it if not for this site.

I've tried a few different "mineral" powders (isn't talc still a mineral?), and I usually have two issues. The first is no matter how much I mix, I never get the right shade/ undertone for my skin, and the second is the settling in the laugh lines. Youngblood (in Tawny - as in Kitaen) got my skin tone down so perfectly, they should just name it after me. I've never had such a dead on match out of the box/ bottle/ case/ pump in any foundation or powder. And yet, it did add a natural "glow" that made my skin look healthier than ever. Now for that second issue, yes, I did have some crinkling in my creases. I tried with a few different primers to see if I can spackle those lines shut (like patching nail holes in the walls when you move out of rental), but I still had to check any areas of facial expression every hour or so to clear the crevices. I guess I just need to commit to beau-tox.
I tested this at a beauty counter and it made my skin look amazing! I still needed a good primer because of my overly oily skin.
ive heard great things about this foundation but its too expensive for me.. i think ill stick with edm for now. this sounds really nice though! thanks for the review. :)
I am kind of skeptical when it comes to loose mineral foundations. They seem to settle into my fine lines. That isn't a look I am going for. I have not tried this foundation, but I checked out their website and found the most beautiful shade of red lipstick (mystere) Now that is something I am going to have to have. Thanks for introducing the line to me...I'll be getting the red mystere lipstick.
My roommate has some of their eye makeup and loves it.
