ELEMIS EXTRAVAGANZA! FABULOUS FRIDAYS!
Our very own Greek Goddess Eleni to bring you Greeks bearing gifts! Great Gifts! The gift of beauty with Elemis!
The first time I came across Elemis was at Holmes Place Health Club in Athens. I took a shower after my workout and it literally took me more than an hour to make myself get out of it. The reason was that the shower gel provided was possibly the best I’ve ever tried.
With tears of joy for my new discovery, I asked at the reception what that magical tingly gel was, and they said it was the “Elemis sharp shower”, with peppermint, wild marjoram and thyme. Unfortunately, its $37 price tag was too much for my budget back then, so I kept taking showers at the gym. I’ve never worked out more in my life!
Since then, the name Elemis has always meant top spa quality to me.
Recently, the wonderful Meg Young sent us over at megsmakeup.com a few Elemis products to try and being the only one that is struggling with a cellulite problem since the tender age of 9, I got the Body Sculpting Lipo-Refining Serum along with the Body Sculpting firming Cream.
Anti-cellulite and body firming products are possibly the only products I’ve tried all cosmetic brands at. When I was 12 I was using Vichy, and it worked ok. At 14 I switched to Roc and Biotherm that worked a bit better for me. At 18 I tried the divine Dior Bikini and for ten years in a row I haven’t managed to find anything better. I was switching it with Clarins that smelled great, a few times with Lancome that was a bit cheaper and once with Yves Saint Laurent when they first came out with an anti-cellulite cream. Total disappointment. It was only ten years later that I actually used a product that could compete with Dior Bikini, and that product was Chanel’s Precision Body Excellence line.
So there I was, having Elemis Body Sculpting Cream and Serum in my hands, ready to take the big step and quit the Chanel treatment for a month. I did it. I spent 4 weeks of religious Elemis use. Morning and evening applications with massage, regular exfoliating, balanced diet, lots of water.First I put on the Body Sculpting Lipo-Refining Serum, a product that is:“designed to penetrate deep into the dermis to slow down the skin cell's progression from healthy to abnormal in a dual action. The key active ingredient, Peru Liana, helps to inhibit fat storage by preventing healthy skin cells (Pre-Adipocytes) from filling with Triglycerides (a build-up of fatty acids), resulting in undesirable fatty cells (Adipocytes). The Lipo-Refining trio of marine and plant extracts, Laminaria Digitata, Theophylline and Cecropia Extract, specifically help to break down fatty deposits by promoting Lipolysis - the process of burning off Triglycerides - which in turn reduces the size and number of Adipocyte cells.”
Followed by the Body Sculpting Firming Cream , a cream that:“flushes away toxins and helps support the body's natural drainage, enhancing micro-circulation to release trapped fats and prevent new fatty cells from forming. Targeting cellulite with three key actions, Body Sculpting Firming Cream progressively smooths and firms the skin. Peru Liana, Sea Fennel and Brown Algae Scoparia assist in inhibiting fat storage while Bitter Orange Petal helps to detoxify the skin and increase lymphatic circulation. A unique complex of Organic Silicium and mineral rich Spring Sea Water improves the cohesion between dermis and epidermis to firm and tone the skin.”
The results were AMAZING. I was a bit scared that this two cream system wouldn’t work and then I would have to write bad things about Elemis. Cause believe me, I would have. There is nothing worse than being told that an anti-cellulite treatment works when it doesn’t. I mean, it’s not even something subjective. Day 1 you have a dimple, day 31 you don’t. As simple and clear as that. And that’s what the Elemis Body Sculpting Firming Cream and Lipo-Refining Serum did for me.
Bikini season’s almost here, go get your Elemis girls!

I realize I might be mixing a few Elimis products here, but felt they all go together. I have visited the Elemis spa several times while cruising across the Atlantic. My last cruise in May 2007, I got suckered into buying the Iothermie line which has the cellulite treatment, ampules, tonic silhouete, mesta....something, bath powders plus the brush and wasted something like $600+ for a 21 day treatment. This was how long my cruise was so I was hoping to see the results and if not, get my money back. Needless to say, this was a waste of money and time. I met over a half a dozen women at various functions who also got taken with the charasmatic sales girl and bought the whole Iothermie line. All hated it and felt it was a waste of money. Not a one got our money back, even though in big letters it says money cheerfully refunded if unhappy with our products for any reason. I am back to believing the only real way to rid cellulite is drink lots of water, brush your skin ( the Elimis brush won't stay together so it wasn't worth the $46 I had to pay) with a good Bass natural bristle dry brush and hope for the best. If these Elimis products really 100% worked, they would be everywhere and everyone would hear about them. Notice, Elimis admits only 6% notice dimple improvement. $600 for supposedly 6% doesn't cut it for me.I found that the only thing that worked on the cellulite and helps to lose inches was the brush. Brush towards your intestines to supposedly get the lymphs to empty (The spa therapists instructions). Clockwise on your tummy, hand towards shoulders and counter clockwise on your back. I still follow these instructionsI also did the ginger lime salt scrub and massage and highly recommend these products. The massage therapist mixed the salt scrub with milk bath and made a runny paste. She scrubbed this all over my skin and then had me shower with the milk bath. After drying, she gave me the massage using the milk bath neat on my skin. Every time I get a coupon I buy these two products along with the frangipani oil. They have a kit with all of these items plus rose petal lotion and a couple of other products for $102 when on sale. I suggest trying these and I guarantee you will be thanking me! Don't waste the money on the Iothermie set.

I'm really, really considering buying the Body Sculpting line for my cellulite. I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one that got it before my driver's license! I feel cursed. I've never been fat, eat good, and I still have it on my butt and thighs. I'm to the point I would pay just about anything to get rid of it.My mom bought the line on the cruise after losing several inches with an Elemis spa treatment. She said it is fantastic!
First of all I love Elemis tag line.. Defined by nature, led by science! Isn’t that the truth! Just like DesertDoll, I too have been laboriously pinned to my computer and my poor eyes are TIRED! My eyes always pay for long hours at the computer! They are really the worst I’ve seen them in a loooong time. I was beside my self with sheer joy when I remembered I had this product to use. It’s cooling to them and it’s immediate relief. What I like most is that it took away the itchiness and calmed down my puffiness too.. I think their blend of the great ingredients is the key reason for the fast relief. It has water of Blue Cornflower blended with an extract of German Chamomile and Mallow, which is renowned for its healing properties, an ancient remedy for dry, irritated skin, to help revive tired eyes. I have used horsetail for years on my varicose veins on my legs and used it on my face where I have some small capillaries around my nose. Horsetail tones and supports the skin -especially if it is puffy, delicate skin around the eye area.
I am always up for a new challange in cellulite reducing creams... no matter how much I have to exfoliate and massage, and let me tell you there have been some tramautic experiences out there from burning sensations to huge red spots... Ladies look no further I have been using the Body sculpting Lipo-Refining Serum in conjunction with the Body Sculpting Firming Cream for about 5 weeks now and I have to say I can really see a difference- after massaging it in I feel a tightening cooling sensation immediatly, the reduction of cellulite appearance set in about 3-4 weeks after I started using it and I haven't been working out so I know the changes are from the creams. That said I have to admit that I only used it after my morning shower most of the time unlike the directions say to use morning and night, so you may see changes quicker than me if you are really dedicated. There is time for reduction before we are in full blown bikini season! The creams are uber luxiourious and smell fantastic as well! I give 2 thumbs up there are definite benefits to these slimming cellulite reducing creams- anything to keep me from the Gym and show results is my friend!
I am in LOOOOOVE with Elemis! The fragrance of their products is wonderful and makes my skincare routine enjoyable. But if you don't like fragrance, this is definitely not the line of skincare for you! I use a bunch of their masks, their toner (apricot- smells wonderful!), their face wash (chamomile) and of course the Daily Redness Relif. I constantly go back to Mandara Spa in Hawaii to receive facials using their products! Great for calming and brightening my skin!
I chose the Bright Eyes Recovery Gel, which may have been a premonition. It's a an eye product that's meant to give instant relief to eye strain caused by staring at the computer for too long (or traveling, and I would imagine it would be great when your ill as well). And ever since I got it, I seem to be spending at least 10 hours a day in front of my computer at home and at work. So either the timing was perfect or I willed this to happen! Either way, this is very nice stuff. It's got a cooling effect that really makes your eyes feel better and gives you that extra oomph to stare just a little bit longer. Or it's really nice at the end of a long day. I've been putting this on, sitting down with a cup of tea and saying "aaah". Good stuff!
I also got talked into Elemis & La Therapie products on a cruise ship vacation (over $500.00) I thought the products were way overpriced and I turned to Kinerase which I found to be a much better value for the money and better results. Elemis also had way to much fragrence for me.
I also love the Elemis Pro-Collagen Lifting Treatment for this saggy neck and bust of mine! It is my new “bestest” (made up word to get my point across) friend, It’s liquid GOLD! Recently, on a previous post I was sharing my dilemma of how I’ve sadly started to show signs of aging (I’m 44) on my neck and chest. I noticed it and think it’s been exacerbated from losing some weight over the last year. I have never had the crape thing and it’s freaking me out! I can’t count the times I’ve uttered or muttered to myself, What the heck is that?!? I swear, I hate this more then my fat arse! This product is worth every penny, It has helped me relax over this newfound problem of mine. I wish I had this a year ago to make it less of a crash landing, and less of a noticeable saggy neck! One day you will see what I’m saying- you young whippersnappers! It looks like my little baby tortoise’s skin on their head and neck when I move or turn my neck!! I tried neck exercises, and weird tongue movements to help this, and I feel and look ridiculous doing it! (I was doing what I saw my Mother doing when she was my age) I think this has halted the hideous bleeding and those obvious signs of ageing. My skin really looks a lot smoother, has gotten tighter and for my own sanity, I do declare, I have that youthful-looking neck and bust again. The anti-ageing properties of Padina Pavonica are mixed with shea Butter (my fav), sunflower, macadamia and jojoba seed oils to assist in lifting the areas that are trying to defy gravity!
I've used a few Elemis products and liked them all, however there was one that I loved and that's the Fruit Active Rejuvenating Mask. It made my skin feel and look lovely and it something I'll definitely be buying again.

I have used the Elemis Lip Revive. My husband brought it back from a business trip. Wow, I am glad he did. Really high-end. It soaked right in and it just feels so good on the lips. Plus, I am one of those people who keeps putting product on my lips, or rubbing my lips together. I have to say, I didn't find myself doing that while I had this on my lips. It was comfortable and soothing.
Fabolous for a gift, looks clean, simple but effective. Great shout out.
Pretty cool :)
that looks awesome! i really wanna try it!
