AWAKE EYE TINT! STARDOM LIQUID EYE COLOR !
The glamorous and gorgeous Mio sent Megsmakeup out some of their Awake Eye Tint out to test. We're all crazy for the Awake brand and now that they are in Bath and Body Works they're easier then ever to get to.
I love new twists on old standby's. I'm always up for trying the new package with the new promise of fantastic results. I'm not alone in this quest or else the beauty industry wouldn't have our hard earned moolah to the tune of billions. Awake's eye tint is liquid eye color that comes in a slim bottle with a twist off top (kind of like nailpolish) where there is a brush to apply. I got the color "Rose Vintage" It's more plum then pink so I'm not sure why they went with the color "Rose" I guess there is a slight pink tint but it looks more like a sheer violet to me. I shake the bottle and then I apply. I like it mostly as a
brow bone highlighter. It goes on pretty sheer but it has a nice highlight shimmer factor. It made my eyes pop. I also like grabbing the bottle and dropping it in my purse. There's no crumble factor to worry about and the applicator is right there.
I'm digging my new liquid eyeshadow but I'm still pretty new at the concept. Any advicde you ladies have on liquid eyeshadow in general would be appreciated. I'm using powder eyeshadow on my lids and then the liquid on top. I'm wondering if you use liquid eyeshadow with another liquid eyeshadow can you blend them? Hmmm. Another new beauty product to play with! I can hear the beauty business's cash machine ringing!
Here's what Awake says about their eye tint "A liquid eye color that provides a gleaming wash of pearlized color with just one stroke of a brush. The water-based formula provides a refreshing application, while treated pearls and pigments provide long-lasting shine."
Ladies, how did you wear and fare with Awake's Eye Tint?

I was a bit perplexed by this product. I'd never seen a liquid eye shadow before, but what the heck, I'd give it a try. Agree with the others, this was so sheer, that you really don't notice it. Maybe that's the point? Even when I go natural, I like a little more "finish" than this product provides. And, given my road warrior ways, a liquid that doesn't do much isn't gonna make it into my carry-on.
I can see the difficulty in figuring out how to use this product. I also have the Rose Vintage, and the firsttime I put it on, I was surprised at how light & sheer it was. There really isn't a whole lot of pigment - I'ddescribe it as a "wash". Anyway, it was so sheer, I layered a powdered shadow on top - a light, almost matte grey color that I have. The two of them look gorgeous together & it's become one of my go-to looks. I brush the Awake over my lid, let it dry, then brush the grey over my lid & browbone. It turns into a low-shimmer silvery purple-pink, which I love. Like Meg, I was surprised that this is called Rose. I'd definitely put it into the lavendar/lilac category.
Well, this didn't work for me. In the product's defense, I don't think I was the right person to test this. Lilacs and pinks look awful on me. I'm also not a fan of subtle eye colors, I prefer something with a lot more pigment. I think Krista is right, "wash" is a great description. Not for me, but if you like a more delicate or understated eye look, this is worth checking out.
Hey, sorry for the delay, I was away! I have the Awake Rose Vintage eye tint- Stardom line; it is really cool liquid eye color! Yes, it is light on the first application. What I like about it is that when you put some on you can add more to it to darken the color. The eye color picks up the light and your eyes will look like they do have another shade on.. I covered my entire lid. Love what it does for me. Some one said to me the other day, boy your eyes are bright and popping - Thank you Awake Eye Tint. I think I will try adding some other colors to it too. I love playing with eye make-up. I'll let you know what else I discover! It’s true, the liquid eye color is great for fast easy pearly color.. It’s light in color because of the water based formula and let me tell you it lasts all day.. Really it does.. My husband said to me the other night.. Your eyes have sparkles on them.. That was in the middle of the night and after I had worn it all day.. (I was bad and didn’t wash my face before bed) At first, I was quite the skeptic about this product.. Never used anything like it before. It was so water like. However, I have really grown to like it. I guess the non-fading pearls really have special polymers in it to create an even layer.. There were no streaks - just lovely color! I also thought it felt cool and refreshing on my tired eyes!
Sorry to say that this product just did not fit into my make-up regime. I use foundation and powder on my lids (as well as all over my face) and adding something so liquidy ontop of that created a muddy look. The rose/lavender color applied to my eyes, sans foundation (I tried to use it for a more casual approach, on days where I'm not made up) kind of gave my eyes a tired, beat up tint to them. Maybe I would try this in a more skin toned colore, on summer days where all I use it some cream blush and lip gloss. But it's def a no go for a more made-up look for me. I will totally remain a fan od Awake even though this product and I didn't jive.
This sounds nice-I like eyeshadow that doesn't stand out, subtle and makes the eyes pop.
Well I’m not sure about this one; it’s very sheer like everyone said. I really couldn’t see the color on my eyelids. I do like the idea of painting on the color with a brush and will look into other liquid shadows on the market. Maybe I’ll give the other colors in this line a try the next time I’m at Bath and Body Works.
This one didn't work for me either. I put it on and it did kind of bunch up in the creases of my eyelids.Maybe I used too much but I was trying to see the color. It was just too light and I didn't really like the feel of it. I loved this lined lipgloss. But this is something I won't really use. If you like Super lighthints of color this could be for you. But I'm much more of a dramatic eyelid gal so I have to pass on this one.But I won't mark it as a no because it is a good product, just not one that works with me.
oops typo.. I meant to type.. I love this Line's (Awake) lipgloss. oops =)
This eye shadow looked totally violet on me! It also was very thin, which is kind of a bad thing for liquid eye shadows, but it works great if you end up using it just as a highlighter. I'm a huge fan of liquid eye shadows and have been using the Chanel Ombre d'eau which stays on a much thicker layer if u let it dry properly and lasts forever. So my advice is that when you use a liquid eye shadow and it stays on thick (as it should do), you can either distribute it allover you eyelid while it is still wet and this will give a lighter effect, or if you want the color to be solid and bold, you let it dry for 15 seconds before you smudge the edges. I didn't like the Awake eye tint very much, but I loved their lip gloss!
DIdn't work for me either ! Disapointment.
Love these sort of loose shadows, colours are gorgeous.
I haven't tried that before.
I think I'll pass. Thanks for the reviews! <3
that looks awesome! i really wanna try it!

i love this
I have some liquid eyeshadows from Chanel and I really like them, I often use them as a base too, I suppose they are similar to these!
