THEME FRAGRANCES!

Desertdoll here with not a drugstore deal, but a definite steal!
I love a good DIY item. Don’t get me wrong, I think Sephora is heaven and have no problem buying a mega million-dollar brand. But finding homemade soaps at a farmers market, prepared by the woman behind the table-love it! Theme Fragrance definitely plays up to my homespun side.
Hand poured original scents made by Elizabeth Morrison, a Rhode Island School of Design grad and self-proclaimed “scenthound and photomaven”. This woman knows her fragrance, not only what scents make woman (and men) swoon but also the power of being able to be transported or cheered instantly by the right scent. The names of her fragrances match the aromas perfectly. You can imagine a carefree day spend in a Bikini with the fruity and bright citrus notes. Or exactly what Lotus Lake looks like when you smell the tea and water flowers.
But I have to say I identified most with the fragrance she sent us, Sarong- a blend of luscious creme de coconut, white vanilla sand, and night blooming flowers. And if you don’t see yourself on an island with a flower behind your ear, you need to have your nose checked! If you like tropical scents, you may have just met your favorite.
As if the fragrances themselves are not enough reason to buy, there’s the price. These totally adorable and easily portable perfume roll-ons are under 10 bucks. You can get her whole line with prices like that and transport yourself to a different location almost every day of the week!
Theme Fragrances are available at boutiques all over New York but for those of us not in the big apple you can get them through etsy.com. And if you’ve never spent anytime on that site, and have a DIY affection like me, be prepared to be amazed. Art, beauty, accessories, clothing, paper goods-it’s thousands upon thousands of stores of handmade items by sisters doing it for themselves!
So Ladies, let us know if Sarong had you booking a flight to a tropical location!

Thanks JenLaw! What do you sell? You know, I think a few people around here like shopping...
Theme Fragrance Sarong Perfume Roll-On.. What a concept.. Not a drop to be lost and wasted by clumsy hands! Watch it go on.. Put it wherever you want to smell wonderful and make anyone near you go bananas! It’s no wonder Brides Magazine has advertized it.. Men go wild over this stuff.. I still don’t know what it is, but every time I have this on.. watch out Lucy! The last time I was somewhere where ladies could be topless (not me though) was on a second honeymoon to the French Polynesians islands of, Bora Bora. There was always that amazing scent of vanilla and coconut in the air. Sarong perfume roll-on brings back those amazing memories. It reminded me of the evenings we’d be sitting out on our over the water bungalow patio gazing at the most amazing sky. I could still smell this in my minds eye.. Shut your eyes.. Luscious crème de coconut and awesome floral notes. Yummy! It makes me want to dig my feet into the white sand in my mind! I have no doubt that this is their best seller. It rolls on without being too oily or sticky. I love It’s adorable design, it also small enough to carry with you until you can make it back to your dream vacation place!
I have a friend who adores beachy scents..especially coconut so this perfume sounded perfect for her. I quickly purchased this for a little gift for her. You can't beat the price and now I'll have a little something for her when she comes and visits Spring Break. I have a feeling I'm going to be loving the Etsy site. I couldn't stop looking at all the wonderful things this morning. Thanks Ddoll for a wonderful find.
okay, i thought that since i liked sarong so much, i should try bikini. boy was i wrong... it smells like that pink nail polish remover that you can pickup at the grocery store, yuck!
I just ordered two sets. Hurry and get them now the inventory was down to only 9 sets! Can't wait to smell these. I plan on giving the other set to my sister. Thanks for sharing!
Yep, us and Kevin Bacon are related to everything! I'm loving Sarong. It's really "summer" smelling, so it was great that we got this in the winter. Just what I needed. You really have to like tropical scents, I do. But some of the other girls at the mailing passed cause the beachyness was not their cup of tea. But she's got others. Like a just released Valentine scent, rose and berries. I really loved the formula, not quite an oil, not quite a perfume. It's not sticky and it's really long lasting. I still smelled this on me when I go to bed at night. And yeah, etsy.com is so great. It's a really good way to get inexpensive, unique gifts. And if you make anything, it's a great way to get it out there. Just like the lovely Theme Fragrances team did!
Elizabeth kindly sent me a full size Sarong and Love Letter along with a sample of Lotus Lake to try out. I have to say I was so excited to receive these. I had ordered Sarong for a gift and was so tempted to open it up and try it out before I gave it away. Luckily for me, I now have my own bottle that I don't have to share. It smells just like everyone described...just like a tropical vacation in a bottle. I normally don't wear perfume...heavy scents give me headaches...but this yummy coconut scent really agrees with me. It so makes me what to throw on a bikini and sip a pina colada. Love letter is equally as yummy. It is perfect for those that love the smell of roses...yummy roses...not like your grandma would wear...think roses mixed with citrus fruit. Lotus Lake reminds me of an oriental garden. It is a fresh smelling floral scent. Overall, Sarong is definitely my favorite, but I really liked all three scents I tried. If your in the mood for a vacation in a bottle, definitely pick one of these up.
Etsy.com is such a neat website! I had no idea there was something like this out there and I love it. I have a sneaking suspicion that a few years from now there's going to be a "six degrees of megsmakeup" story behind practically every product I own. Thank you for expanding my horizons.
hey desertdoll! in my pre-kiddies life i was a jewelry designer. that pretty much grinded to a halt once the gang arrived. but i was looking for a little charm necklace with their initials on them when they were born. i couldn't find anything that was simple and cute. i decided to design my own and have been selling them ever since. the great thing is they're not just for mama's! i've donelots of luvah's initials, your own monogram, pet's (MEG!) initials, a special date, the sky is the limit! my etsy store is www.jenlaw.etsy.com i've also added a pic to my profile. they make the most perfect new mommy gifts EVER by the way...you'll be the hit of the shower!
I received Sarong as well! One whiff of this and my mind instantly drifts to a tropical place [a far more sunnier place than where I currently am :( ] and I start to sing to myself "Aruba, Jamaica, ooooh I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahama, c'mon pretty mama! Now you know that any product that can transport me into a different world or mindset and reignites my love for the Beach Boys is a keeper! The roll-on packaging makes it convenient and it's not greasy. Ladies, get yours today!
the V. sweet desertdoll sent me a little holiday care package that included Sarong. truth be told i opened my package from mycouch with a wicked hangover. this wonderful oil perked me right up! it comes in a cute little lucite box, great for gift giving. i LOVE coconuts and all thingstropical so this was right up my alley. if you love flowery, tropical yumminess Sarong is for you! so great she is sellingon Etsy! besides being a proud seller, i have found the best little treasures on Etsy.
Finally, a perfume that I LOVE!!! What makes this perfume so great, you ask... first, the smell is to die for, it smells like a tropical vacation in a bottle. It's not too sweet smelling, even with the coconut and vanilla. There isn't a trace of alcohol, which usually gives me headaches. Plus, there aren't too many perfumes that come as a roll-on, which makes for a much better application since you can put it exactly where you want it. Lastly, the smell lasts all day! I will surly become a faithful user of Theme Fragrances!
OK now I'm wishing I would of bought me one too...especially if it is alcohol free. Pamelairene I'm dying to go on a tropical vacation after reading your review. By the way, the one I ordered this morning has already shipped. Talk about great service!
With Elizabeth's quick shipping I got these babies in no time with trial sizes of Bikini. I have a new ritual now when I need a mental break. I put on Sarong and view my pics from Maui. Ahhhhh....that was the life and one I hope to visit in again soon! Anyway, I got one for my sister too. I can't wait to share it with her. I absolutely love the tropical scent. I really liked the Etsy site too. Can't wait to check out Jenlaw's jewelry:) Thanks for sharing!
I am checking out your Etsy boutique Jenlaw. Jewerly designer? Cool!
A roll on fragrance sounds so wonderful, I love natural scents and am a big DIY freak. I love Etsy! Great post DD.
the ever so sweet elizabeth sent me a bunch of samples, and a full-size bottle of lotus lake!!! like i said, sarong was so perfect, but bikini just smelt horrible on me. elizabeth said that she recommends that everyone purchase the trial sizes because they smell different depending on everyone because of their own chemistry. so, i've tried them all and i must say that other than sarong, love letter is my favorite. this is really surprising because i hate rose-y smelly scents, but it's also a bit fruity, really mellowing out the rose.
