KORRES PARTY SURVIVAL GIFT AND GIVE AWAY! GREEN CHI TUESDAYS!
Hello ladies, it’s Chichi, bringing you another Green Chi Tuesday! This week the naturally lovely Nancy from Korres Natural Products, sent megsmakeup.com their pitch-perfect Party Survival Kit or as I like to call it “the day after” kit. This elegant gold box is a great sampler of five popular Korres products designed to help refresh and energize your mind and body after an all night party. I’m really excited because we will be giving away one of these fabulous little kits to a megsmakeup.com member just for sharing your best “day after” story.
We’ve all been there. Somehow, last nights short evening out morphed into a late night party and you awake hazed and parched with a full face of make-up trying to put your vague memories into their proper timeline. My first job interview in Los Angeles is a great example. I wasn’t planning on going out but my roommate bribed me into going with her to a local Hollywood bar (Smalls K.O. - R.I.P.) for a “quick drink.” We run into some friends, who happen to be very cute boys, and suddenly we’ve had round after round of cocktails. We than grabbed a cab to an after hours club where we danced until we we’re ready to drop, walked from there to an all-night dinner and the next thing I know a taxi is dropping us off at home at 6:00 am. I fell into bed for a 45-minute power nap and woke up with one hour to prepare myself and get to West Los Angeles for my interview. Luckily, my interviewer happened to be from my hometown and was a Big Talker. He took an instant liking to me and I sat and smiled and nodded for two and a half hours while Mr. Interviewer droned on and on.
A cool shower, three aspirin and a bottle of water helped get me through it, but oh, how I would have loved for this kit to be stocked in my bathroom! It is specifically designed to refresh your senses and calm stressed skin after a sleep-deprived night. Each kit contains:
* Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizer SPF 6 (0.34 oz.) to moisturize and brighten skin
* Evening Primrose Eye Cream (0.17 oz) to reduce fine lines and dark circles
* Guava Showergel (1.69 oz) a creamy and foaming gel to brighten your shower and your senses
* Guava Body Butter (1.69 oz) full of vitamin C to stimulate collagen synthesis while Sunflower, Almond and Avocado oils nourish the skin
* Milk Proteins 3 in 1 Cleansing Emulsion (0.47 oz) removes make-up while cleansing and toning the facial skin
* Lemon Refreshing Chewing Gum to freshen breath, prevent tooth decay and reduce bacteria
Like all Korres products, these items are naturally derived with top quality, high efficacy ingredients and are free of synthetic compounds, like parabens, petroleum derivatives and silicones. Perfect for anyone trying to add some eco-friendliness to their beauty routine! Another quality I really appreciate about the entire Korres line is its affordability. All products are reasonably priced to enable every-day use. Thanks to the clever people at Korres for making these amazingly green products affordable for everyone!

Ok, this is pretty embarrasing. It was my freshman year of college and I had discovered drinking in bars with mynew friends. My roommate and I stumbled in sometime around 1am pretty intoxicated. We had pulled up the rug in ourroom to be cleaned so my bed (hoisted on cinderblocks to provide space below) was on the cement floor. I was fallingasleep (aka passing out) when our phone rang about 2am. It was my good friend Greenie. In a drunken stupor I reachedfor the phone on the floor only to fall out of my bed and land face first on the floor. I told Greenie "my teeth feelweird" and went into the bathroom with my roommate. When the light went on, she stared at me in horror as I onlyhad half of each front tooth and a quarter of the one to the left of my front tooth, major snaggletooth. She said it'll be ok and I actually went back to bed. I had to call my parents the next day and explain this. My dad picked me up at school on a Sunday and had to take me to a dental walk in clinic (which you know can't be good) and they created bonds for the missing parts of my teeth. When I got back to school, I swear people were staring at my teeth when I was talking with them (the cute boy I liked actually told my roomate he was staring to try and figure out if my new teeth looked different...I almost died!). The kicker is after graduation when I finally got a real dentist, on my first appointment he asked me "who did these bonds? They are so terrible, I can't believe they haven't fallen out yet!". The entire thing was quite embarrasing!
Wow, what is going on in the world that all of our morning after stories have to do with booze! What lushes our parents are raising...anyway, I must admit that my story too has to do with alcohol. A bit long, but I will try to be as brief as possible. Names have been excluded to protect the innocent (or not so innocent as the case may be). The scene, first week of college, first party (football team), best friend from high-school's boyfriend on football team so only freshman girl invited, and then me thinking I can hang with the big boys. Am suckered into playing drinking "games" with the team. Lose all rounds of course. Have to go to the bathroom, in which I promptly pass out and am locked in in the only bathroom in the "pool house". Am awakened by loud banging on the door as angry revilers stand in line with legs crossed (and mouths covered). Am finally coherent enough to open door and am escorted to buses hired to drive drunk party goers home. Begin ride home in bus on winding roads with other party poopers (who also just couldn't hang) only to find the ride and those turns going downhill not agreeing with stomach. Decide it is a great idea to wretch right there on floor of bus (noone knows me anyway). Of course since we are going downhill it all flows to front of said bus, but then at the next stop it flows back to the back of same bus (oops, everyone watch your feet). Am promptly kicked off said bus at dorm stop but cannot figure out how to get in, so I lay in nice pink flowers outside of front door. They looked soft and comfy at the time. WWake up next morning in dorm room, in bed, with half of clothing still on (and when I say half, I mean it...one leg in and one leg out, one sleeve on and one sleeve off). To this day, I have no idea how I got back into dorm...maybe one of the football players felt guilty!
Ha ha-funny Bunny! Yeah, you know those kids know what a toy party is...they sure don't play spin the bottle like we used to!
OMG, Chi Chi and girls...not only did my brand spankin new Sephora NOT have this for my hostess (I got her the Caudalie gift set instead though, which she loved)...they didn't have it for me and I needed it SOOO bad yesterday morning! What is it about those parties? You get all cranked up on cheap wine (my poison of the evening was my very own bottle of 3 buck Chuck Shiraz - which goes down way too easily when it's that cheap), and then you spend a hundred bucks on all these lotions and potions that amount to nothing more than slathering yourself with a tube of Ben Gay - I could've saved lots of money and gone to the corner drugstore...now there's a good Thursday DD topic! I"m not saying it was ALL a waste of money - and the bf and I sure had fun trying to justify my spending. If I had had this kit yesterday morning though, I may not have sent the party planner an email entitled "where's my coochy cream?" only to find I'd already put it in my shower sometime during the evening! no memory of that one. I also may not have, as it was described by a client at the hair salon, "red velvet cake" colored hair! Yes, I went and got my hair dyed yesterday and with my hangover just said take the blonde out and make it red. And she's like really red, and I'm like sure whatever... well it's RIDICULOUSLY RED and we had no time to tone it, b/c I was late getting to my makeup appt (with carmaqara!). So now I look like Sharon Osborne (actually it's kinda fun - if my job wasn't "teacher") and I can't get it fixed until Tuesday night. So...I NEED this Party Survival Kit BADLY - because even though I swore up and down yesterday that I'm too old to do this anymore, I still have a case of 3 buck Chuck left and lots of lotions and potions!
Oh yeah, and besides Korres, the other best hang-over cure is a McDonald's Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit. Seriously. It works.

I could literally kick myself for not picking up some Korres products while I was in Greece this summer. Everytime I shop online I love to look at what type of kits they have...I think I'm gonna break down and pick up some of their body butters because of all the wonderful reviews I've seen here and on other posts. When I drink, really drink, which is not that often it has to be planned because I'm not getting out of bed for awhile. I'm too damn old now to quickly recover. However, when I do get out of bed this would make a welcome addition to my hangover cure (starchy comfort food, lots of cold, unsweetened tea, oh & of course 3 ibuprofen):)
never tried any of korres products but would love to get some freebies! My best morning after story happened about 9-10 years ago before I had my kids (7 & 4years old). one night my husbands co workers had invited us over to their house to party (just because it was the weekend) we had tequila and beer for drinks. I never do well with tequila (actually all my funniest stories involve tequila) but when your young you think you're invincible. so the night started off good, I was buzzing having fun laughing and just having a good time. when it was time to go home(we lived right down the street) we got into our semi new suv and drove to our home parked in front of the gate, my husband got out to open the gate so we could drive in and then he closed it when he got back in the car I told him I wasn't feeling well and next thing I know I puked on my door, my husband was so upset because he had to clean it up. we get into the house and I'm still not doing well, still puking so my wonderful husband gets the rubbish can and brings the mattress into the kitchen so that I could sleep in there, because apparently I couldn't make it past the kitchen. till this day I still don't know how I made it through the front door.
Hello I want to know if anyone have tried any of Korres produtcs for celulite. I love Korres, and I know they have a new tratment (with 2 creams and 1 oil for celulite, ANYONE HAVE TRIED IT? THANKS ANA.
Ohh, hostess gift - what a fabulous idea, Chi Chi! This is exactly what I'm going to buy for my girls-only "toy" party hostess gift for this weekend!! I don't have any stories I can share in fear that my students will somehow discover this site and I'd never hear the end of it...well...except for when I was 15 and my brother's girlfriend babysat me for the weekend. We had her college friend's over and I did 12 Tequila slammers before I LOST COUNT, not stopped. Had to cut school the next day b/c I was on the bathroom floor, when I should've been in the hospital. Would've gotten away with it too...except mom's cutting board, which used to be clear as glass looked like it was run over with a Mack truck...just could not come up with a lie for that one! Needless to say, my brother ended up breaking up with that girl - gosh, I miss her! Ok, I'm gonna remove my pictures from my profile now!
It’s a Filet of Fish, French fries and a coke for me, ahhhhhhhhhhh. And now I have Korres Party Survival Kit to help me with those morning afters when I’m feeling awful because I didn’t take my make up off the night before. Like DD said, they are great for those everyday kind a mornings too. I’m heading off on a business trip Sat and the size of the items are perfect for travel. Needless to say once I see all my friends in London there will be some mornings when I’ll need “the kit”.
I'm saving these babies for when I need them most, but I sneak sampled them all and WOW! What a nourishing line. I havn't tried too many Korres products but I will quickly investigate and start a wish list! The scents on all of these products are refreshing and soothing. The perfect pick me ups when you need themmost.. And sometimes a little TLC can liven you back up quicker than you had imagined. This kit really has remedy power!! I'm not saying not to still have alka seltzer for breakfast if you need too, but this is an all natural Excedrin treatment for your skin! I wish I'd have had this for New Years!Next year I'll be prepared!! Thank you Korres!!!!
Funny thing is that even if Korres cosmetics weren't as good as they are, just by opening that golden box and using the cute little product bottles you forget your hangover! What works the best for me in terms of post-party survival is the Guava shower gel. The smell of it makes me awake and blissful, like a good cup of coffee.Of course the Wild Rose moisturizer is wisely made to be a 24 hour one (who knows what time you'll end up putting it on your face!)and it has that extra moisture kick you need after a wild night and so does the Evening Primrose Eye Cream. At this point I have to confess that after parties I am always too lazy to take off my makeup in a proper manner, but surprisingly enough the Guava shower gel did an excellent job on my face too!I know, I shouldn't be doing that. But it worked! Also, the lemon flavor of the gum wasn't chosen randomly: The essence of fruits that have high vitamin C concentration (like lemons and oranges) are known to stimulate parts of your brain that make you alert and happy.Go lemons!
I think my queen of all stories is my great uncle's 90th birthday party. I was 18, it was during my first semester of college (which was miserable for me - dumped by first love, culture shock). It was at the restaurant in New York on the river a little ways up from the city. It was a beautiful day. There was an open bar. The glasses were huge so it was really like two drinks in one. Two (four) glasses of Chardonnay. 4 or 5 (8 or 9) cosmopolitans. Only a little bit of pasta to soak it all up. We're in the car going back to my cousin's house in Queens. We're on the Major Deegan Bridge in the Bronx. ON the bridge. I had sort of passed out right when we got in the car. I woke up. I did not feel good. I threw up. Out of the moving car. With my parents up front and my little brother (15 years old at the time) in the back seat next to me. We got to my cousin's house and my parents just left me in the car ot feel miserable. Luckily my cousin's wife felt sorry for me and brought me in and forced me to eat some toast and drink water! My parents will NEVER let me live it down!

Oh my how I wish I had this kit over the past few years. I was not well over New Years and have not had a reason to drink into oblivion since I received this but I did do some sampling while I was under the weather. It even helps you with your everyday cold. I love the eyecream as it instantly helped my puffy sick eyes so I could at least look some what presentable to pick-up cold meds and the shower gel is divine! This kit will come in very handy next Vegas trip or in a few months when I see ChiChi!
Love this! Korres always does really great sets, I'm eying one right now that is for guests and comes in a little lucite tray that would be perfect for my guest house bathroom. I haven't gotten to use this on a morning after yet (luckily-cause let's face it, they're the worst!) but you can enjoy these on regular mornings too. I especially am loving the Guava shower gel and body butter. The smell is so delish, very tropical. And the butter is super rich. Korres is a great line, cute packaging and affordable prices.
I haven't tried any Korres products, but they're very much onmy to-buy list. I've been thinking of picking up this set since before Christmas. So my worst day after followed a night when I drank 3x more than I had ever drank in my life and I had mixed everything, cocktails, beers, shots, long island iced teas, everything! I don't remember the last hour that I was in the club, but suffice to there was much craziness, puking, and paranoia. Important detail: I was in San Antonio in a very urban area. When I come to, I'm next to someone I've never seen before (luckily, I do recall that nothing happened there, thank God). I walk out the door of where we were and I'm in the desert. All around me all there is to see are pickup trucks, yucca plants, and dirt. I have no idea where I am, I'm still nauseous, I can't eat, and I'm supposed to be catching a plane out of San Antonio in a few hours. Luckily, I ended up only being a couple of hours from home, but have you had to endure liftoff, in the window seat next to a psychiatrist andhis wife, with a hangover and you're still nauseous. NOT FUN!! I don't think they ever realized how much danger they were in sitting next to me.
I love this kit! I only recently discovered Korres Shower Gel so this is a fantastic “sampler” kit. You get a little bit of everything. So far, my favorite is also the Guava Shower Gel. The smell is bright, clean, and a little sweet. Plus it makes a great foamy lather! When I followed my shower with the Guava Body Butter, I was very pleased - the scent layered so nicely on my skin and smelled divine. The butter really helped my dry, flaky, winter elbows too. My second place goes to the Evening Primrose Eye Cream, which is lush and creamy and soothes my whole eye area. I’ve used it before bed the last few nights and my eyes are thanking me - my under eye area looks brighter and smoother in the morning. The Wild Rose 24 hour moisturizer is nice too. The consistency is smooth and creamy and it sinks nicely into my skin. The scent is very light, which I appreciate in a face cream. I do wish it had a higher SPF than 6, a little low for me. I’ve been using the 3 in 1 Milk Cleanser as a toner after cleaning my face and it has a nice calming effect on my skin. This would be a fabulous hostess gift!
Tick, tock ladies. If you want a chance to win this fabulous kit from Korres, now’s the time to post! Oh and thanks to everyone that’s shared a story. Some embarrassing moments, bad decisions and even chopped teeth! Very entertaining so far. Mel9, did you get this for your hostess gift? More importantly, how was your party?
Mid-Nites, Korres Party Survival Kits ... This New Year is starting off pretty good in my book. Heaven knows I need sleep and even Hades knows I need help when I don’t get the sleep! It is simply unjust that when I get to a time in life that I rarely stay out all night, I wake up all too often looking like a walking train wreck!! I don’t think I’ll share some of my better stories - I will say that I’m not going to ride side-saddle on the back of a motorcycle to a party anymore, but I’m pretty sure that I still have it in me to climb a chain link fence in dress and heels... of course I might take an extra 30 seconds to consider the consequences. ;-)
And while we live in a world that is full of nastiness. There is nothing I like more than to rid my skin of all the days’ dirt! I particularly liked Korres Milk Proteins 3 in 1 Cleansing Emulsion because does it all! It gets all your makeup off quickly and at the same time. It’s a wonderful cleaner and toner and provides essential moisture with natural plant extracts and milk proteins. My skin felt so soft and smooth instantly. I also read that it forms a hydrating film that attracts and bonds water molecules. You can feel that too! That’s just amazing stuff! This all-natural emulsion is ideal for all skin types, even dry and sensitive. There are absolutely no traces of drying soaps and irritating chemicals. Got to try it, you’ll like it! I also loved the Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizer a lot! It goes on as if it’s meant to be on right after the Milk Proteins 3 in 1 cleanser. Wow, it actually can be noticed when you look at your skin. It looks so clear, and smooth. Then it does get event better with the Evening Primrose Eye Cream. It also is a great product. Kiss those bags and dark circles so long! They are definitely reduced too. Who ever dreamt this idea up was a genius. Give him/her a cookie!
Oh it kills me sometimes to be a regular contributor - I never get to win AWESOME stuff like this. The primrose eyecream is a FABULOUS brightening eye cream and I could never say enough about the Guava body butter. Its like buttah. Velvet soft tropical buttah. I love Korres, I'm ever more convinved that NATURAL is better for your skin. I mean - Chichi, you tree-hugger, you're on to something! ;)

These stories are hilarious!I wanted to say that this kit would make and awesome party gift! Imagian having it sitting on the table in front of every guest! IT might even encourage some serious partying!
Korres Party Survival Kit.. I Love this KIT! I want everything in a bigger bottle of it too. Including the fricken gum! I thought of another name.. It could easily be called, Korres Party SAVIOR of my life Kit! You have no idea how many late or long nights I have had in my life.. It’s been more than I like to admit. However, you know how horrible you feel when you have had no rest at all. Yeah, kinda want to just find a hole in the wall crawl inside and die! (figuratively speaking of course) Without rest our bodies freak out.. hence my overly sensitive skin. So, I know that it can only reek havoc on your skin. It always pays the price. So I was beyond excited to lay my hands on one of these kits. I felt super privileged because everything in there gives you the necessary tools to restore a youthful glow to even the most stressed skin. I love that it’s all natural too.
man oh man i can't wait to try something from Korres!!
I just got a sample of the Wild Rose moisturizer. I can't wait to try it. I've never used a Korres product...I know gasp!!! This line sounds wonderful. I will be checking them out the next time I hit Sephora. Oh I have so many morning after stories I could tell. One time in high school I got very drunk. My dad was waiting up for me (not a good thing). I spent the night in the bathroom throwing up. This is the first time I had done this, so my parents were livid with me. The next morning a family friend's young daughter got a hold of the Dimetapp. She drank a bottle and had to be rushed to the hospital to have her stomach pumped. My dad made me go with him and our friend to take the little girl to the hospital. We were there for hours waiting in the emergency room. I was soooo sick. I wished it was my stomach they were pumping. My dad thought he was teaching me a lesson...he wasn't going to let me lay around all day with a hangover. Did that stop me from drinking? No...but I made sure to come home a little more sober after that. I guess I still haven't learned my lesson. I got so sick this summer celebrating my 35th birthday..not once...but two weekends in a row! Luckily, I've stayed away from the Porcelain throne since then.
Oh the morning after, when you swear you are never going to drink again! How many times have I made that promise? One of the great times was having one to many margaritas with the girls, only to have to wake up the next morning to be out on a boat sampling (ie fishing), imagine the rolling swells along with horrible fishy smells. I get on the boat only to realize that I'm not hungover, I'm still drunk! The hangover came about 2hrs later and was terrible! The worst morning after had nothing to do with alcohol, or very little. The day I defending my master's degree we went out to celebrate. I had a drink and a half, then ate dinner. We all parted ways to get swimsuits to continue the party in the hot tub. During this time my stomach starts feeling gurgly, but I ignore it. Have to get up and leave hot tub. Just looking at alcohol makes me feel even worse. Finally I have to ask all my guests we are celebrating my accomplishment without me to go home. I spend the rest of the night with a raging case of food poisoning on the bathroom floor. I had a phone interview the next day, so after being up all night evacuating my guts from all points, I do the "Mommy, I'm sick" phone call at 7am to see how I can make it into work to do the interview. Drag myself in with trash can in tow and somehow do the interview, many explanations of "No I didn't party that much, I got food poisoning..." At least the interview wasn't in person! How do you politely excuse yourself to throw up?
I never knew guava scent was such a pick me up. But man oh man it's yummy and refreshing! The milk cleanser took of my "morning after" tired make-up face. The guava shower gel was exhilirating, lathered into delicious suds and smelled fantastic! The guava body butter was the perfect match! The day moisturizer was light and non-greasy!I'll use the pm moisturizer tonight and post on that tommorrow. But this is an idealhostess gift. Would even be cute wrapped with a money card to a bride. Perfect fortravel! Definately multi-purpose and any women (or man) would love this. I would sharea story but I have never been drunk :)
Ewwww McDonald's biscuit makes me want to vomit and I'm sober. Hey mel9 I bet your students know what an girls only adult toy party is. I'm actually a pretty good drunk, most of the stories I have are about other ppl. One of the days when this would have came in handy was a very very cold morning after. The night b4 I had puked out the passenger side of our SUV, I ran in the house and continued to rid myself of to much liquor, HOB went to bed. In the AM he said "Please go clean off the side of the car". Out I go and there is my vomit frozen solid for almost the lenghth of the Durango. It took me lot's of hot water and scrubbing to get that off. I was so mad at him, no not myself but him. If that was him in the situation I would have cleaned it up, gave him water and Advil after he was done being sick, let him sleep late in a nice dark quite room. Needless to say I have never gotten sick in a vehicle again.
Korres makes the best stuff. I love that it's natural. I love that it's from Greece, it makes me feel international! This set is amazing. My favorite product is the Milk Proteins 3 in 1 emulsion. It's like a mositurizer/makeup remover. You slather it on, than wipe off the makeup and excess with a cotton ball and it leaves your skin clean and smooth. This kit is a great way to try the line. Very reccomended! My best morning after story is the night I knew I was going to be sick so I brought my trash can to bed with me and put it at the side of my bed. Planning ahead, right? I woke up, laid there and thought "a-ha! I was smart" then rolled over and looked into the empty trash can. I threw up on the opposite side of the bed! D'oh!
that looks awesome! i really wanna try it!
