JOESOEF SKIN CARE!
Hello all! Desertdoll here with a new find.
I guarantee, no one has perfect skin. Even if they look like they do, they’ve got something they’re working hard to fight and stressing about. Whether it’s acne or wrinkles, oily or dry, problem skin can be...well, a problem!
Well, what if you could do something for your problem skin and help someone else at the same time? Replace vanity with generosity (or at least have equal doses of both). Enter Joesoef Skin Care to help you do just that. How very Green Chi of us!
Dr. Joesoef, a dermatologist with over 40 years of experience, is passionate about what he does. His mission? To bring high quality, professional grade (yet non-prescription) skin care remedies to his customers. All use high quality ingredients that are indigenous to Indonesia, like sulfur from volcanic sulfur springs, which people have bathed in for centuries trying to cure their skin aliments.
Before even trying the products, there are a few very important things about this company that I was impressed with. From now until Dec 31st, with every online purchase made they will donate a bar of their Natural Volcanic Sulfur soap to support the US troops. This on top of the fact that a percentage of the companies proceeds go to support several humanitarian efforts in Indonesia (where their products are developed and manufactured). Giving back, you’ve got to love that.
Add to that some of the best customer service in the business. Not only do they offer free samples of most of their best selling products (and not skimpy samples either, they’re huge!) they also have in-house skin care experts trained by their team of dermatologists available to answer questions about using their products, and can also provide personalized advice about how to use the products most effectively for your particular skin type.
Now on to those products! Dr. Joseof was extremely generous with us. Giving us products for testers with acne and products for testers whose concerns are more anti-aging based. Soaps, cleansers, astringents, lotions, creams...we got it all! I’m going to let the testers themselves describe what they got (otherwise I’d be writing a small book). But what I will talk about is their 4-step Acne treatment program that I had the pleasure of trying.
Talk about thorough; this program has got you covered. It’s like a tactical maneuver for acne! Step 1: CLEANSE with the Natural Volcanic Sulfur soap. Step 2: REMOVE dirt, oil, and makeup with Oil Remover to deep clean pores. Step 3: TREAT overnight with 6.6% Sulfur Drying Lotion. Step 4: TARGET during the day with vanishing formula Spot Treatment.
Here’s the good part, in addition to being really affordable-it works, it really works! This program had my zits on the run. And I especially love the small holes the product is dispensed from. I applied step 2-4 with a q-tip just where it was needed and it dried up any nasty offenders in no time. Plus, I had the pleasure of getting some advice from the good Dr. directly: “Acne comes as a result of both bacteria and fungus. Sulfur as a natural element has characteristics of being anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and a natural antiseptic. So when you wash your face with the Sulfur soap you can't help but feel how clean your face will be and feel. I promise! Also be sure to drink a lot of water every day.”
Ladies, please let us know what product you received and if it brought you one-step closer to actual perfect skin!

I received the Anti-Acne Soap thanks to Meg's and a tube of liquid facial cleanser. Sadly I accidentally left the facial cleanser in Dallas when visiting my parents, but from what I remember it got my face clean, took off make-up, and was still gentle. It didn't leave me with the tight parched dry skin like some cleansers do. I have been using the Anti-Acne Soap in the shower--I ran out of bath products (I know a crime), but had the soap on hand so I thought I would give it a try. Oh boy do I like it. I was worried it would have a sulfur scent, but not at all. It has a nice herbal light greenish scent. I like the slight grain-y texture when using on my body, plus it gets me clean, smelling good, and helps banish b-acne (body-acne or back-acne)! Always a plus! Somehow I also think since it kills nasty bacteria, when I sweat now it isn't quite so odoriferous. I have since restocked my usual bath products with bath puff, but I keep coming back to this soap almost every day (unless I need a good exfoliation, then I use it afterwards). Good products and now that I know they help out a good cause I'll have to buy more!
I love my Clarisonic brush DD. This looks like a very compelling skincare line, my parents lived on the island of Java for 2 years, I wonder if they get their volcanic sulfur from Mt. Bromo? The "real old school scent" is a bonus to me as well. I really go for the basic, natural scents as well.
I have been waiting for Joesoef-I received the Olive Oil & Collegen Moisturizing Lotion and soap. I do have a mixed review on these products. I ususally don't use soap on my face, something about it, but I did try it and for a couple weeks daily on my face for about 2 weeks. The soap did lather up nicely and a sublte smell was pleasant. I did find it drying and come on girls who likes drying!! I quickly followed up with the anti aging moisturizer which I loved. (It made the soap drying effects minimal) I myself liked the way it went on and left no residue, wasn't sticky or overbearing,i which is perfect right before I put on my makeup-still able to use a primer or even better under my Balm shelter moisturizer-works great. I also find alittle more "bounch back" on my face-more elasticity, especially around my neck area. So I would recommend the anti aging cream and skip on the soap.
I received the Olive Oil & Collagen Moisturizing Lotion and the Olive Oil & Collagen Moisturizing Scrub Soap. Farmer Tom’s initial reaction to the moisturizer was “You smell like old people.” If nothing else, it spoke volumes about his mother or grandma’s skin care regime, because my olfactories detected a primary scent of one of roses. The moisturizer itself is fairly light - too light for my wintertime skin care needs, because I had to give it up after 4 days. I tried again in a few weeks with the same results. One of my friends tried it and thought it was OK, so I think it might be pretty good for summer months. As far as the soap goes, I agree w/ TMG - it smelled somewhat medicinal... but in a clean way, not a clinging kind of way. Plus the scrubbies didn’t seem to affect the sudsies! FT sure liked it. (He also asked if he could use it AFTER asking if it was a girly-girl product.) Although it’s not an everyday kind of soap for me (winter+lots of soap=itchies), I think this may be a good summertime product, also.
I received the Olive Oil&Collagen Scrub Soap. I used it on my body, like Doll did.. I didn't find this soap particularly moisturizing and the smell was that of a bar of soap that they give you while you're a hospital inpatient. It did make me feel clean...squeeky clean, but the smell really turned me off. I love to smell pretty and this scent is anything but that. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I'm going to use it a few more times and repost.
I also got the olive oil and collagen scrub soap. It’s awesome for those days where you want to feel really REALLY clean. Like when you spent the night before in a smoky bar. It smells slightly medicinal, which I really kind of liked. The little scrubbies in the soap actually did exfoliate well without compromising the soaps “foaming” properties. (big for me, it’s hard for me to get used to cleansers that don’t foam for some reason. FOAM MEANS CLEAN!) I really liked the soap (and I’m not usually a bar soap person at all) and I am curious to check out some of their other products.
I was very excited to see the 4 Step Acne Treatment kit. I must say that by following the instructions and using as directed my skin looked better then it has in a long time. I did have to cut back as indicated in the directions when I got a little to dry. I really like what these products do for my skin, the only thing is the smell, for the first few days it was really odd constantly smelling like a match or burnt hair. I finally figured out to wash my face first thing in the shower and only use the cream as a spot treatment followed by moisturizer or Noxema for oily skin. I also have to say that even for the most devout product gal 4-5 steps does get old after awhile. But again since I'm so happy with how my skin looks, it is worth the extra mins morning and night. I actually pushed my DDF and Tea Tree Oil face washes to the back of the shower a few weeks ago, that speaks volumes for me. So A+++ for anyone who is oily, or prone to breakouts including blackheads. Just follow instructions and don't over dry your skin.
I received the olive oil and collagen body cream. I have very dry wintery skin. I mostly use it on my legs and armsafter showering. A little goes a long way. I Like the way it feels, smooth and silky and it absorbs very quickly. I would like to try some of his other products.
In addition to the acne kit, I also got to try the olive oil & collagen scub soap and one of their deluxe samples sizes of the Vitamin E foaming cleanser. Both of these are from their anti-aging line. I actually used the scrub soap on my body rather than my face (the package said that's ok!) I liked the combo of an exfoliant in a soap, and it made my skin feel soft. Plus this has a real old school scent to it. Not flowers or fruit or angels wings, just plain soap! I like it. The foaming cleanser really go a good suds going, especially with my clarisonic. And my skin felt super clean afterwards. Good stuff!
I received the vitamin E facial foam cleanser and the anti-acne soap with sulfur. I loved the vitamin E cleanser. It had a pleasant light scent and really did foam up nicely. My skin felt clean and soft afterward with no tightness. I really didn't care for the anti-acne soap with sulfur. It was way too smelly for me. I kept having flashbacks of driving through a stinky Texas oil town. While I think it was probably a good product for combating acne, I just couldn't get over the smell. Plus the scent seems to linger on my skin afterward.
I received the Olive Oil and collagen Moisturizing Lotion. It says that it's for 'dry to normal skin', well, once I got past the horrendous old-lady baby powder smell, I found that it actually provided no moisture at all after applied. My skin felt as if I had put powder on! It's a bummer because it's a huge tube (5 fl.oz) and I was really hoping to love it. I also got the bar of soap from the same line. It smells like those cheep little bars of soap you find at Motel 6! I was actually afraid to try it on my face, so I used it as a body bar in the shower. It says it has olive oil and collagen, so I figure it cant hurt to shave my legs with. I was very disappointed.
I got the anti-Acne kit to test. I don't have too bad of acne but my roommate has a sort of chronic systic acne that makes her really red. So I passed the kit on to her with the instructions - USE IT AND TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS! She said she relaly didn't notice a difference adn all those steps were a little complicated for someone who isnt product obsessed. But the instructions were very detailed!

I received the anti-acne soap with 10% sulfur and the Vitamin E facial foam cleanser. I was really hopeful that the anti-acne soap would do all of the wonderful things the box promised, namely reduced blackheads and blemishes altogether, but I noticed my face's oil production went C-RAZY because the soap was so traumatically drying and that the soap was so strong that my skin would only tolerate it once a day, so I stuck to at night. Can I just say that my love life suffered because of this soap??? It didn't help that the sulfur smell of the bar soap was so strong and lasting that the hubby asked me why I smelled like rotten eggs. Sexy. The Vitamin E foaming cleanser was another story. It left my skin feeling very soft and clean and almost a little glowy. It was very gentle and most importantly, did not make my face smell like rotten eggs. I'd definitely recommend it.
I got OLIVE OIL & COLLAGEN MOISTURIZING LOTION & the OLIVE OIL & COLLAGEN MOISTURIZING SOAP.I hate to give a no to this, It seems like a very thorough line, but these just didn't do much for me. The Soap although for dry skin, still seemed drying.. maybe it's just my skin. Its very sensitive, and the lotion was good but not great.. reading what the other girls had to say it seems like their acne products are good, and perhaps this line is more suited for oily types. For me the soap was drying and the smell was very unpleasent. The lotion was good, but not the first thing I'd reach for.
Okay, so i finally get to post on something I received from MEGS! YAY!!! (can u tell? i was super excited to receive a package for the first time!? :) ) Anywho, i received the anti-acne soap and the vitamin e cleanser. I gave the soap to my friend who uses sulfur soap for her acne...i didn't want to use it because i use natural products on my face, so for fear of a breakout..which i already have a hard time controlling or had, since the use of suki etc...i only decided to use the vitamin e cleanser. I loved it. It has a nice scent, i really loved the scent, and it made my face feel really clean without the tightness, as most of you said, and it does a really good job removing makeup too! I stopped using it for a while, not sure why, maybe i was getting a teeny breakout...but i used it yesterday when i was trying to remove makeup and remembered why i loved it!! I'm gonna get my friend's take on the soap and post it asap.

is this just for people with acne or does it work as a regular cleanser as well? I'm thinking it might be a bit harsh for those of us with acne-free skin (mind you, I do get the odd zit now and then)

Best method to treat spots is tea tree oil and using toner, don't think I'd try any new products.
Nice! the review was great!
