KERASTASE CIMENT THERMIQUE! HUMP DAY HAIR DAY!

Wed, 11/21/2007 - 1:10am
  • Hair

Thank-you, Thank-you Wonderful, prayer answering marketing diva from Kerastase (also known as Katie)! Every once in the while the universe decides to throw you a bone.

When I decided to lighten my already damaged hair myself. I was rewarded with hair so scorched, so burnt and so coming out in major clumps I was driven to both tears and the yelling of some words that I didn't know I knew. I totally take that back, I know those words. It's just really bad to scream them in a blinding rage-on a Sunday, the Lord's name no less.

Anyhow, I was furious! Furious at my stupidity, furious at my grey hair for forcing me to make such a drastic decision, furious that I was having my hair cook on my head. I know the signs, I've been down this road before. The ends of my hair were seriously starting to shrivel. I imagined me as Sinead and it wasn't pretty.

I saw the clouds open and heard the angels sing. It was the new bottle of Kerastase Ciment Thermique.

I know so many ladies swear by this line. I have never been one of those ladies. I mean, this stuff isn't cheap. I've always been afraid to use it. What if I liked it? This is also a reason I have never tried drugs. OK, I have tried pot and I hate it. Believe it or not, I am already a bit paranoid so it wasn't a great exprience. I mean the fun, expensive and serious drugs, I've never tried them. I don't want to. I have no willpower so forget it if I like them. I'll so be on A&E Intervention.

This was no time for financial decisions, my head was a pressure cooker and I'm not going to be Kojak for the holidays.I grabbed that Kerastase Resistance, Ciment Thermique Heat Activated Reconstructor Milk For Weakened Hair and prayed to any God I could think of. It said to use a quarter sized amount, I used an amount the size of a hard-boiled egg.

Someone somewhere heard my pleas for redemption. It actually worked! I was able to save what was left! I mean it, it's still in my head. I have hair! I owe it all to Kerastase. It's $34 bucks people. I know that's not cheap but I figure it's way cheaper then wigs, extensions and therapy. It worked, if my head wasn't the most severe crash test dummy experiment to prove that Kerastase works then I don't know (or want to know) what is.

I'm back to the quarter size amount after every shower, before I style and may I say, I look completely hair trauma free. So thank-you Kerastase. I see what all of the hype is about. I mean it very sincerely, I owe you Kerastase, so from the deepest part of my shallow heart-I thank-you. I really, really thank-you for saving me.

Here's what Kerastase Resistance Heat Activated Reconstructor Milk For Weakened Hair says..."Hair is strengthened from within. Vita-Topseal protects and reinforces external layer. For hair weakened by harsh chemical treatments and repeated blow-drying/heat-styling. Smoothes hair from root to tip. Apply a quarter-sized amount to wet hair and massage through starting with the ends and spreading throughout the length of the hair. Comb through. Do not rinse. Style as usual".

Ladies, please post if Kerastase has made you a true believer!

Meg, glad you found something to help your hair after Dye Debacle 2007! This stuff sounds great - I heard so many good things about the Kerastase line. Another item to add to my list of things I need to buy. By the way, I don't think you need to worry about your hair falling out - if it ever happens you can pull a Little Eddie and wear a turtleneck, your pantyhose or bath towel as a fabulous head scarf! I think you would look awesome!

Ah Kerastase... how I love thee. I was first introduced to Kerastase a few years ago by my sister-in-law. She described it as ‘gold in a bottle’. It took me a while to finally give in and try it (the cost is what kept me away) but eventually I gave in and tried it. I have really thick coarse and curly (and I mean CURLY) hair. I like to wear my hair straight so I spend a lot of time straightening it with a salon strength blow drier (Elchim) and a flat iron (not a metal one). My hair used to be very dry and I used to get a lot of split ends. So I decided SOMETHING must be done. I started using a bunch of different products (leave in conditioners, 15 minute conditioning treatments, etc.) But nothing works better than Kerastase products. They have a large line that can meet anyone’s hair needs. I use three of their products but the one I use to prevent my hair from getting damaged is MASQUE OLÉO-RELAX. I use it once a week to keep my hair healthy and free of split ends. The rest of the week I use Dove shampoo and conditioner (which I love love love too, just not as much as Kerastase!).

I love love love Kerastase! Especially the volume active spray and the lax vitale (i think?) shampoo in the orange bottle. It is so fabulous. I started going to a salon that is just Kerastase which got me hooked. I almost died at the pricetag when I bought it the first time. But CRAZY CRAZY they now sell a little bit of Kerastase at my Target. They sell a couple of shampoos and conditions (not cheaper of course). But its kinda nice that you don't have to hunt all around for it.

A few years ago I totally overdid it with the blonde and my hair needed some serious intervention. I bought anything I could get my hands on, which included a lot of Kerastase reparative products. Theyreally turned things around, and I'll always be a die-hard fan of this line, no matter the cost. Itis, in my opinion, worth every penny. I especially like the Anti-Usure Ciment Conditioner, the Nutritive Masquintense, and those little vials you're supposed to only get at the salon (but can findon ebay :)

The ciment thermique is the creme de la creme of the kerastase line.I bought itlast week as my hair was fried from the sun and hair coloring. I wash my hair with the bain age recharge, did the mask age recharge, then towel dried my hair. I squeezed two pea size of ciment thermique and massaged it from the ends upwards like the instruction told, then I let a blast of hot air settle it. I then proceeded to do mybrushing with a round brush and medium setting on my hair dryer. And Lo and behold, Barbie doll hair was born. My hair felt silky and shiny that it was like artificial hair. This product is wow. But the only down size that really worry me is that it is packed with silicone second and third of the ingredients. And the two times I used it since I bought it, when my side swept bangs got near my eyes, it welled with tears and it stings. This is two chemical. Do you think this product could be harmful becauseof its chemical composition?

Ok, deal alert! Our link takes you to a place where it's on sale for $28. Just to get that info of my chest right away. Kerastase is AMAZING! I have yet to try a product of theirs that I wasn't totally wowed by. Actually, I believe one of my first Fab Fridays was their Oleo Relax from the Nutritive division (which is my absolute favorite 'cone type product) Anyway, as French25fan said, they've got a division for any hair type: Nutritive for varying levels of dry hair, Reflection for color treated, Resistance has fortifying treatments for weak hair and Soleil is for sun lovers. The Ciment Thermique was my first Resistance item I've tried. Wow! I am in love with this stuff. It smells incredible, like light lemoncake with cream. But it's what it does to your hair that's really something. First use and my hair was smoother, shinier and softer. Seriously, I couldn't stop running my fingers through my hair-it was like a shmpoo commercial! Kerastase is so worth the investment. You'll be very happy you bought this, I assure you.

I’ve been loving Ojon for the past couple of months - the Restorative treatment leaves my hair sooo nice and silky. After I scrape the last bits of products from their containers, I may have to try Kerastase... either that or I’m going to figure out a way to stretch my hair out to a good 10” and I’m a gonna donate it to Locks of Love

My first experience with Kerastase was when I got my first high priced cut at a salon when i was about 18 I'd say. My hair is thick, long, wavy(but not the nice wavy its more the unruly wavy!), and not to mention frizzy! Well the stylist shampooed and conditioned my hair with kerastase and oh my god!! my hair felt like heaven...and when she was combing out my hair- not one tangle!! I thought it was a miracle..Hallelujah..Amen!! She mentioned after my cut which she used and honestly I dont remember exactly which one it was but if that one was great I can imagine the rest of the line is FABULOUS! Well since I had already spent $145 on a haircut I obviously couldnt get it then so I promised to come back the next week to get it. Note no price was ever mentioned, for good reason too because if I knew I likely wouldnt have promised to come back! I do agree though its well worth the price but for my budget I'd have to save it for my Christmas wish list or Birthday request. I certainly wanna try the Oleo Relax masque since i do like to straighten my hair as much as French25 and also end up with the frazzled ends:(.....the closest to heaven i've found in shampoos and conditioners besides Kerastase that doesnt cost me an eye is Herbal Essences Hello Hydration.. I love it! The smell is divine too!! Sure makes me wanna moan and shout in the shower like their old commercials...lol...you remember those? wow!!...lol....

this is seriously the best heat protector I've ever used. It's very light, so it's perfect for my fine hair. It leaves my hair very shiny. It definitely worth the money, a little goes a long way with this product. I just love the feel of my hair with this product.
