NAD'S FACIAL WAND! DRUGSTORE DEALS!

OK, This is amazing. AMAZING! I never can do wax or strips or anything-this is so easy I BEG YOU TO TRY!! SO EFFECTIVE, SO SIMPLE!

NO ouch, no tear, no pain. You just pump up the Nad wad and put the gel where you want to remove hair. Then using the enclosed strip you peel away. DOES NOT HURT AT ALL! It is really quite easy, pleasant and the results are very clean and amazing!

Sometimes you just want to deliver the pain yourself. I know the anticipation of waiting for the injection or wax paper to be removed is almost worse then the actual event.

I was eleven years old and stepped onto an earring -post side up. The earring shot up through my heel and I could not step flat footed for a week. I went to Newton Wellesly Hospital to have the earring post removed. In came the anesthesiologist. He was all ready to stick me under and remove the post-but I negotiated with him. I said "Give me your tools and 10 minutes, if I can't get the post out then you can operate on me? Deal? Also, I'll need one nurse".

He agreed and I got to work. Nurse handed me these long tweezer looking tools and I began to scrape away. Five minutes later I had removed the post from my heel and was on my way back to sixth grade. My dad was in the waiting room and the doctor's said to him "Your kid has a real future in medicine"

Perhaps I am a brilliant unrealized Doctor. I love to squeeze, extract and pick. I have to tell you I normally can NEVER get these strips to work. You have got to believe me, these are amazing, easy and boy do they work so, so great!

Here's what NAD's says about their facial wand "Thoroughly clean the area to be treated using a Nad's Cleansing Wipe or a non-moisturising soap. Ensure that all oils, make-up and moisturisers are removed, then wipe skin completely dry. Remove wand cap. Twist end until gel appears at Wand tip. Apply a thin layer of gel in direction of hair growth. Only apply gel over the hair you want removed. Place a Nad's cotton strip over gel. Firmly smooth over strip with your fingertips, hold skin taut and quickly pull strip in opposite direction of hair growth". I promise this is easy and works fantastic!

I give this a Meg Uber Endorsement, I cleaned my eyebrows up with this in 1 minute. You're going to love this.

Any other Nad's Fans Out There?

I really must try this. What about removing the upper lip hair, or is it just for the eyebrows? I usually go to the Esthetician for this, but it would be nice for quick touch ups or in between visits...

it works! after hearing the original nad's was a huge p.o.s., i was kinda reluctant to try it out. however, the reviews on here convinced me to go out and get 2 boxes of the nad's wand that looks like a lipgloss, kinda (not like "pen" applicator pictured). i am so happy i did cuz i tried it out today and it is absolutely wonderful, and completely painless! i highly recommend trying out this product even if your opinion of nad's has been tainted by many negative reviews of the original product.

I do home waxing (I just can't get over letting someone else see how bad my bikini line is) I have used other cold wax strips and have to admit even having done it for years it still hurts. I think next time I'll try Nad's, I've always been skeptical (sounds to good to be true, usually is kinda thing), but I do trust my Meg's make-up friends to give it to us straight. On a side note, I came home today to discover a package from all the lovely goddesses at Meg's Makeup! I was soooooo excited, nothing I was expecting! It was like Christmas but without annoying family members! I recieved two Joesoef skin care Anti-Acne products and an Aromaremedy Sinus Help vapor bag. I will be trying the soaps soon and as I type I am loving the sinus help vapor bag. The vapors are a blend of eucalyptus, peppermint and lemongrss, yummo! I don't know about my sinuses, but right now it is melting some of my tension and stress away. Thanks Meg's!PS I purchased a no!no! from Sephora and have just started using it, I'll be sure to post on how it works. Has anyone else tried this?

Indianafw...I hope that he appreciates what you did for him. I'm sure that FT wouldn't be caught dead doing something like that, I know my hubby wouldn't. They have a male brazilian it's called a sunga...for real. I think they should force hubby's to get one every year....that would keep their butt's in line for sure!!!!

I have waxed my eyebrows exactly one time before today. This is because the first time I did it, with sally hot wax, i ripped the skin off of my face in between my eyebrows. It was a hot look for about 3 weeks. I was in college, at a somewhat, granola-ey liberal arts college, and I couldn't exactly in good social graces admit that I had ripped my face off for vanity's sake. So upon Meg's glowing endorsement I set off in search of the Nads pen. Tricky little devil to find around here (I found it at Ulta). I'm pleased to report that it is AWESOME! And not just because I still have skin between my eyes. I really did clean up my brows in a snap. I tried to do a really good job getting all traces of wax off to try to stave off the breakouts, so we'll see about that part. But I doubt I'll ever pay money to get my brows waxed after I now see how easy and painless this was.

Dear Santa - Please send me a day spa! If only there was an esthetician nearby! A girl can dream, because I would much rather have a professional wax my bikini line. Oh well. Tash - You are not alone in your trauma. It was Christmastime when I moved back to Indiana and I thought a Brazilian would be a nice surprise for Farmer Tom. I thought I was prepared for the event, but apparently did not get the memo about the yoga-esque side of the experience. I’m not exactly modest, but I still blush. When I described the whole thing to FT, he laughed so hard he could hardly breathe... He actually cried from laughter.

True Story: I tried another brand’s wax dispensing “pen”. Zapped it in the microwave according to instructions. Tested on my forearm. Let’s just say my forearm must have developed something akin to asbestos covering from all of the oven injuries in my life, because that wax was HOT when it hit my eyebrow region. I wound up with something as close to scabs as you can get without actually having scabs. Hmmmm - Now that I think about it, maybe I should change my scariest makeup moment - because I did it again the second time I tried the bloody thing! DUH. I have since changed to NADS - and I won’t be going back to anything I need to heat. My eyebrows are closer to being neatly groomed. My chin and lip are hairless. I’ve tried the pen, the jar, and the ready-made NADS strips... they ALL worked well for me. If I could do a Scarlet O’Hara eyebrow lift in honor of this product, I would.

Is this REALLY painless? I was interested in buying some Nads because I do at home hair removal (except for brows, I have a poor sense of symmetry) and bikini waxes bring me to tears most of the time. I was reading more reviews and they are very, very mixed, often with more good than bad. Has anyone ever tried the body wax/sensitive area formulas? Does the facial wax work better because the hair is usually finer/less dense?

I went to Wal Mart yesterday and picked this up. Then, I read DD's experience with the small breakout after using Nad's and thought, crap! As a precaution, I prepped well with the enclosed cleansing pads and my Erno Lazlo Dead Sea Soap, (I love you DD)! Nad's removed my upper lip hair effectively, and did hurt briefly. After stripping the hair, I used a Chamomile Soothing Gel that I bought from LooseLips NY, and used my Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol-Free Toner to soothe the areas above my lip (yes, DD knows what works). Next day, no zits, and looks good! I'm pretty happy, thanks gals.

Here's a scary Halloween tale for you. I've gotten a few chin hairs recently. Super pokey ones too, only 3-but they're terrible! I mistakenly told a gay guy friend of mine this past weekend, I don't know why. I guess I thought he could relate as a man or something. He was great at first "awww, that's awful" he said. It only took him about an hour to start teasing me! Well, after reading Meg's glowing review above I broke out the Nads tonight and put it to work on the offending hairs. Wow, so easy! No pain, no mess. It was really quite amazing. And the best part? A baby skin chin! I will always be keeping this on hand. And to you, my laughing queen friend-just wait till you get Moobies!

Speaking as a girl prone to pimples and ingrown hairs from waxing, I think 38goingon29 has the right idea. The key for me to preventing blemishes is an after wax treatment. I always rinse the skin really well with cold water (helps with redness and inflammation) and then follow with Avedas After Shave Balm. It’s cooling and soothing. I also use Follique or Tend Skin after 24 to 48 hours. They are a little to harsh for freshly waxed skin, but are great for maintenance purposes. Oh, you can also use that old stand-by Tea Tree Oil in a pinch. (I love Tea Tree Oil, I should think about a Green Chi post about all of its wonders...)

Tashagogo - I did / do use NADs on my bikini line. My options were to A)do it myself or B) forget about the years I put into waxing. Let’s just say technique is everything. Make sure to hold your skin taught when you rip that linen off. Didn’t get it right the first time and it HURT. I mean REALLY HURT. I am happy to report that I did get the hang of it and I don’t feel silly in my pretty little unmentionables. Farmer Tom approves as well.

I'm definitely going to give this a go. I need some serious grooming all around. I've no life or man at the moment so I've been letting the hairs just grow. Sad but true...only good thing about au natural is that I'm staying warm during this cold weather:0)

That is positively the most "Meg" story I've heard yet. I have chin hair, a moustache, and a hair growing out of the mole on my face. My mom just turned 60 and a bunch of us chipped in for laser treatments for her chin hair (too late for wax! on bad days she looks like a billy goat) so it seems to be genetic (lucky me). I remember the day I spotted my first facial hair - much worse than finding my first grey. I'm getting waxed this weekend and I hate not being able to pluck in the interim - I'll definitely be picking this up at the d/s. My sister uses Nad's, actually, but she is a doctor. Of biology...

I'll try it agian but if it happens again, Meg-you're getting the rest of mine.As for bikini waxes, I think it's best left to the professionals. Every home one I've ever done was painful and unsuccessful. My last one actually bruised me (I guess because I didn't keep my skin taut enough). I would have rather been hairy than black and blue!

The girls are right - this is the best at-home hair remover I have ever tried. Honestly, hair removal is something that I decided was best left to the professionals. I always made a mess with the wax, had to put myself in weird contortions to reach certain spots and was never pleased with the results. I finally found an at-home system that is usable and actually works well! The little wand from Nads is awesome. It removes hair from the root ( I always would break the hair off when self-waxing instead of pulling it out). The cold wax is easy to work with and doesn't hurt or burn your skin. The pen like applicator is great for precise control. This system is ideal for all of those little hairs on your face, chin and neck that just pop out of nowhere. Highly recommended for anyone that has those embarrassing facial hairs.
