It's very cool when one of our readers write to me and ask me about a specific product. Amina emailed a while back about
Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel . I didn't know much about the product so I did what I do. I emailed the most precious and perfect Kristin and asked her to send off some samples to Meg's Make-Up for review.
Once the samples arrived I mailed Amina one off immediately to thank her for introducing us to this line and so she could do her own market research!
Sometimes you want to hide. I know sometimes I do. Sometimes you look in the mirror and see red splotches, sometimes you get really eager squeezing and picking at your face like you're part of a demolition crew. If you're like me you get into fits of picking and squeezing right before a major event. No, I never do major surgery on my face when I'll be in all week. It's like a major compulsion. I only do dramatic damage to my face before a hot night out or before I know I'll be having a bunch of pictures taken.
With all due respect to Perfekt, this is not what you need for those mornings after.
Nope, this will not do it for you if there has been some major excavating.
What this will do? I've found it minimizes pores, it is super light and provides coverage. It only prevents a clear palette to uneven skin tones. It does rid you of unslightly blemishes-but only slightly...It's light, light as air and it feels like you're wearing nothing.
If you have a slightly uneven complexion and not one for wearing heavy make-up then this product is for you!

The Perfekt Skin Perfecting Gel is pretty unique in that it’s not quite a primer or a moisturizer. The primer I received (Radiant) has some color to it, but most days I need a bit more coverage. On good skin days, I wore my regular SPF moisturizer and than used the Perfekt Gel on certain spots on my face to even out redness and cover pores. I finished with a light dusting of powder and I was pleased with the results. Unfortunately, my skin leans towards the oily side and I had some shine issues as the day wore on. This would be good for a more dry to normal skin type that likes a natural look.
I was not impressed at all. It really did nothing for my skin. I definitely need some kind of covering up, even if it's as minimal at the Balm's tinted moisturizer. I get what this product is trying to do, I actually have a very similar product from Cat Cosmetics called "Tinted Love" in "The Big O" that works WAY better then this product. It's great for the summer when my skin is tanned and rosey, and there is a little too much shine. It hides pores, and mattifies, giving me an even look to my complexion. Skin Perfekt did not achieve these gols for me.
I am mixed on this product, even though I had SUPER high hopes for it at the beginning. I am a big time fan of anything that is a tinted moisturizer/all in one kinda thing, so I was very drawn. I love the way my skin feels with it on (very smooth), but the coverage is lacking, the price is considerably higher than other products that do a better job, and honestly, I considered returning it before I realized I live 200 miles away from the closest Sephora. Plus, I've used it like 5 times and it already spits like it's empty. I'm voting no, and regretting my $57...
I agree with Meg that this is not what to use if you picked your face all day ;)....But it is very good for a day when you are not wanting too much on your face, but would like a little make-up to make you feel better. It has a little coverage, and I thought it was very moisterizing, and creamy, like a tinted moisterizer. On days when I am running around doing errands, this is great.
This product doesn't do it for me. I received to correct color but I am in love with my Hydratint moisturizer. Being the faithful reviewer that I am though I gave this a whirl and gave up my beloved moisturizer for a few days. My intention was to try for a week. I couldn't do it. M-F I'm a mascara, gloss kind of gal I use my tinted moisturizer first add the mascara throw on some gloss and go. After three days of blending and being frustrated in my bathroom at 4:15Am, I noticed my skin was not as fresh as it used to be. I gave up and returned to my normal routine.
I like the whipped mousse consistency, but I really don't like the oily feel of primers (which this had). So It's a no for me. Wanted to like it, but I couldn't...
When I first got this I could not figure out what it was. Was it a moisturizer, was it a primer, whatever it is it didn’t do it for me. So it’s a primer, well it’s a little to heavy for me. I couldn’t use a moisturizer when using this and I like the moisturizer I’m using more than this so that was one reason I didn’t like it. The other one even if I did like it is the price. It is insanely expensive in comparison to other primers that are out there. This one is a “scissor” for me.

Didn't like this at all. I really really wanted to, but didn't. The coverage was very minimal, like to the point where you couldn't see any difference after applying. Too expensive to not do it's job, IMO. On the plus side, it did leave my skin feeling really smooth...
I found this site while searching for information about Perfekt. I received a sample and used it two times. Here's my opinion...Pros:-Stays put. I have oily skin and tend to perspire easily. This stuff almost seemed to look better at the end of the day (than when I first put it on).-Light, natural coverage. I don't usually need (or want) a lot of coverage. -I like how my skin feels after wearing it for a while - radiant, smooth, and healthy.-Seems to not irritate or cause break outs. Cons:-Looks too matte when first applied. I DO NOT like matte.-Few shade options. The sample was the medium shade (Radiant) and seemed a little to dark and pink-toned for me. I have gold tones. Not sure if the lighter shade (Luminous) is any better...-Price. Quite expensive.I'm torn. I usually wear bareMinerals and really like the adjustable coverage, natural look, and 'glow' it gives me. However, after a full summer day of running around in the heat, the Perfekt Gel stuff looked better at the end of the day. With the minerals, my face was shiny and the product looked 'smudgy.' With Perfekt, it looked better than when I put it on in the morning AND my pores seemed cleaner. Tough call!

I have a pile of samples of this stuff, and since they are selling very slowly for me in my Ebay store, I decided to use one. Boy this stuff is nice! I'm not sure it really gives me the coverage I need though, but it makes my face feel very smooth and like I'm not wearing anything on it at the same time. I imagine that is what regular primer feels like (I don't wear that). I'm breaking out another sample pack to try today to refresh my memory of how this stuff works. It's just disappointing how expensive it is though.

I tried this once, and then it went into my give-away bag, where i put everything I don't love and then every couple of months or so, I bring it into work and let my girls take whatever they want. Just because something is not for me, doesn't mean someone else won't love it.
