DUCHESS MARDEN EXTRAVAGANZA!!
The regal and posh Marla from Duchess Marden sent Megs make-up out an array of products to test from their natural line. They have the Duchess part covered. The package screams refined elegance, gold on gold family crest like swirls adorn these substantial bottles. Marla set out to combine a "scentous" experience. Each product smells elegant and beautiful, all of these rose based beauty products not only treat but refresh.
I have been getting in touch with my "inner naturalist". I have stepped up my gardening and now not only do I grow the most gorgeous roses but I have moved on to veggies! Yup, I may be out in the backyard with my 3 inch heels and hose but you should see my tomatoes! I've also been growing my own peppers and moving on to squash. When I tell people this they laugh. "You garden"? Then the eyes roll and the head shakes and a little laugh comes out.
When I say "I'm tending to my garden" I might as well say a pig flew by my house but whatever. I'm trendy, if this whole natural, green, love your land movement is for real then I have just as much a right to get on that boat as much as the next beauty maven!
Normally, at our mailings every lady becomes paralyzed when an extravaganza arrives. Strangely enough, this was not the case with Duchess Marden. We all knew exactly what item we wanted to try from the get-go and thankfully everyone wanted a different one! Those mailings are not fun when someone ends up with a black eye (I kid).
Here's a little info about the elegant and pure Duchess Marden. "Your body plays host to your mind. Nurturing and nourishing your body both inside and out - skin and senses, as well as vital nutrition promotes a state of well-being. Tending to your body can offer a "scentuous" experience: an experience that engages your olfactory and limbic systems, enlivening emotions, memory and behavior. Duchess Marden bottles this experience, offering delightfully scented products derived from pure, natural plant-based elements, without use of additives, chemicals or preservatives."
Ladies please let us know which Duchess Marden item you were lucky enough to test!

Wow, I am so intrigued by beautyhabit.com, the site that the link takes you to. I want one of everything!
I have the pure rose water and I LOVE IT!!!!!! You can use it as a toner or just an after shower splash andit is so refreshing and lovely.. truly a good rose scent!! like a real ROSE!! fresh and not overpowering. As a toner it really calms your skin and makes it feel extra clean and happy and HYDRATED!! Perfect as a mist after being on a plane! Or after a long car ride. Its a real pick me up.I would gladly try anything else in this line, based on this rose water alone. It's fabulous!!
I adore all of Duchess Marden's products. The texture and scent are heavenly, and I like knowing that the line only uses the most authentic, natural components. As for the scent, it smells like real roses growing in a garden, not the cloying, synthetic aroma that many faux rose products emit.
I also tried the foaming cleanser and was a fan of this too! It foamed up just enough, and really did a great job of cleansing my skin It left my facce feeling shiny and taught. It makes me feel good that it's all natural, this way i know some weird chemicals arent striping my skin of the good stuff!
As if you need more reasons to love this site.....Marla from Duchess Marden read my review and was shocked and concerned when she saw I didn't like a product. She said I received the wrong product for my skin type and offered to send me something that may be more to my liking. I was so shocked, it shows that ppl who really care about a product are reading our reviews and taking them seriously. I typially try all skin care products we review for one full week prior to post so I can see how my skin changes or reacts. I received my new Duchess product early in October. I have used it religously everyday since receiving. Now, I'm not just posting a postitive to be nice, I really like this new foaming cleanser. As you can see from my earlier review I really hated the other one. I love this one and it just goes to show that matching a product to your skin type really does make a big difference. This doesn't come out as a foam like my staple DDF but it works into a lather. I could rub this stuff on my face all day, it's like washing with Cashmere, so soft and silky. My skin has a healthy glow and no breakouts. Also the best improvement is the smell. Still rose but since it's not cloging my poars, it's not putrid anymore. Thanks so much Marla. If anyone is still reading after this long post, first person who has the skin type to handle a Creme Cleanser I'll ship them my reject bottle.
I feel really bad about this but YUCK YUCK YUCK! I agree 100% with Kate, the smell of this line is horrible. I got the Damascena Creme Cleanser. It's very odd cleaning my face with a Creme Cleanser. I am a foaming cleanser kind of gal so maybe I'm being to picky, but this didn't feel cleansing at all. It felt like I put moisturizer on and then kinda just splashed it off. I didn't feel clean and almost felt like it clogged my pours. The bottle itself is adorable, but sadly this is a big big no from me. I gave it to my mom to see if she likes it, she hasn't tried it yet though. If mom likes it I will post again.
I LOVE LOVE Duchess Marden products and just bought some for a friend.. I love the smell.. it's subtle and calming..my favorite thing about the toner spray is.. I put it on before bed.. kiss my husband goodnight and he says sweetly.. ahhh rosethank you Duchess Marden
I have been using the Rosewater for over 2 years. I travel all the time and the rosewater reallyHydrates my skin during the flights. Remember if you buy the 6 oz you need a travel spritzer...Typically the person loves the smell so much they ask to be spritz'd. (even the men???)I have also for the last 2 months been trying to use the eye serum religiously to see what if anydifference and my husband said he thought I looked less tired. I want to know why he thinks I am tired? Long and the short: Great Products, very natural and comforting.
Send all unloved products to my house; they will be well taken care of. I should start a rescue center for all unloved beauty items. Hey that’s not a bad idea and then I could take them to the women’s shelters and let them enjoy the ones we don’t want or need.
I love everything about this! I choose the Anti-wrinkle serum. I was surprised to see that this is actually an oil. Putting oil on my oily face scares the bejesus out of me so I was a little hesitant. But the directions say that this can be used in replacement of an eye cream so that's how I used it at night. Amazingly, it absorbed really quickly. It was also REALLY moisturizing! My lines looked less prominent and it felt super luxurious. This stuff is loaded with healthy ingidents: jojoba oil, hazelnut oil, shea butter, rose hip, vitamin A, C and E. It's no wonder it works so well! I love the scent too. Like a meadow of flowers, but not at all overpowering. I'm really surprised some didn't like it, it's so non-offensive. But maybe all the products smell differently. And the packaging-to die for! Glass bottles with gold gilding. I tried Chi's cleanser and loved that too.
I have recently come upon a bottle of the Pure Rose Water Toner. I definitely like it better than the Face Creme I had before. I love the smell of roses - it's so fresh and feminine and light. Not at all overpowering. But this gentle mist still has has that weird "aftertaste" smell of rotting flowers. Maybe I can learn to live with it.

My pick was the Neck & Dècolletè Serum. I remember when I was I flight attendant asking one of the girls I was flying with why when she was so young was she slathering on neck cream and her reply “was I don’t want to have a turkey neck like my mom”. Nice daughter, but the comment did leave an impression. From that point on I have tried my hardest to take care of my neck, not very well though. Thank goodness no turkey neck yet. I could not wait to review this product. There is something that comes over me when I use this in the morning and evenings. It’s a sense of contentment, inner peace. I know that sounds bit hooky but it’s true. I’m sure the scent has something to do with it. This serum is very light, soaks into my skin quickly and leaves no residue. I have noticed that some of my age spots have become less noticeable since using this product. I love the bottle it came in. It’s so feminine and pretty I have it out on my counter. I can’t wait to read how the other ladies liked their picks. I really really recommend this line!!
I was lucky I picked the foaming cleanser, I don't think I've ever used a creme cleanser before. I really liked this ,it made my face super clean and moisturized. Now the smell is flowery but I didn't find it too sweet, it had sortof an earthly tone to it. I also really liked the look of the bottle, so the foaming cleanser is a yes for me.I actually keep it in the shower so I don't forget to use it.
I am practically traumatized (well, more like perplexed) after reading what some of the first reviews spun off. I know a review of a product is based on personally opinion, but even still, I was a bit irked that such strong opinions were formed without much backing. I’m with you Blus Lee Lee- send this bottle of stink my way.. I love it love it love it! I have the face cream and I absolutely dug the aroma of roses. Fresh, clean and I immediately fell in love with this line when I first put it on.. many face creams can be too heavy and seem to just sit on your skin, not this one.. Its perfect consistency goes over your skin and is absorbed and your are left with a dewy fresh looking face. It’s so far away from smelling like old rotten flowers sitting in a vase too many days - I should know since my mother owned one of the premier flower shops in S. Orange, New Jersey for years and we whiffed enough nasty smelling dead flower stuff than I like to admit.. This line is simply, lovely.
AmAzing!!! The delicacy and freshness of the ingredients are delightful on my skin, which is plagued with sensitivities ranging from sun to allergies to breakouts...the Duchess Marden face cream is absolutely wonderful in hydrating without clogging my skin, and has definitely improved the overall evenness of my complexion. And stinky flowers? What??? The floral scent is subtle and refined...Perfect. My mom is also a huge fan of all the products, particularly the decollete -- and being japanese, she's meticulous about her skin (more than me). Brava, Duchess Marden, for keeping us beautiful!
My take from the extravaganze was the Face Cream. It was a No Way Jose. It smells like rotting flowers that you left in the vase for three weeks too long. I'm ordinarily not all that picky about smells (unless it's raspberry - YUCK) but this one was a deal breaker. I couldn't even bear to use it more than twice. So its sitting, unloved, in my medicine cabinet. I guess I'm just not fancy enough!?!?

I got the neckand decollette serum It's super moisturizing!!!! How great to have a special cream for just these delicate areas! The smell reminds me of what it feels like to be in Marin, very natural anddown to earth. It's true that you should pay special attention to these areas If the skin on you chest stays taught, your boobs wont drop as much!! So, I would reccomend this product to anyone who dosent want boobs down to their knees!!
that looks awesome! i really wanna try it!
