WELEDA WILD ROSE DEODORANT - GREEN CHI TUESDAYS!!
Hey, it's chichi again. This Green Chi Tuesday I'm bringing you Weleda's Wild Rose Deodorant.
So, I've been reading on the site how everyone has that one item in their beauty arsenal that they continue to buy over and over again. No matter how many lip glosses you already own (I'm looking your way Desertdoll) every time you go shopping you pick up another one.
I also have this problem with clothes. By far my biggest obsession is the Black Tank Top. I have multiple black tank tops for every occasion. Long and lean black tanks for layering over or under other tanks. Form fitting black tanks to wear under my sweaters in the winter. Cozy black tanks to pair with pajama bottoms. Fancy, sparkly black tanks for nights on the town. You get the picture.
I realize this is one addiction I will never conquer, so I just need to tackle the one flaw with my beloved black tank top - white, chalky deodorant marks. I've tried every type of "clean" and "clear" and "invisible" deodorants. They all lie. It is near impossible to escape without the telltale marks. That, my dear readers, is the beauty of Weleda's Wild Rose Deodorant. This deodorant leaves absolutely no white marks or residue on my clothes!
This rose scented deodorant is in a recyclable glass bottle with a non-aerosol pump, which distributes a clear spray of liquid that dries almost instantaneously. I adored the pump action; it's quick, cooling and mess free. The fragrance is pretty strong but I love rose and this doesn't give me any "Nana" vibes. One thing to note is that this is not an antiperspirant. Weleda states the deodorant works "by neutralizing odor-causing bacteria that can accompany the body’s natural detoxification. They therefore do not prevent perspiration or disrupt the body’s natural functions. But I didn't notice any out of the ordinary wetness (it is August in Los Angeles, afterall). Besides, who can tell on a black tank top?
Here's what Weleda has to say:
"Delicately fragrances the skin, while eliminating unwanted bacteria. Exquisite scents of organic Wild Rose and organic Orange Blossom provide a feeling of freshness and well-being. Free of antiperspirants such as Aluminum salts. Non-aerosol spray."
So ladies, let me know what you think. Do you use a natural deodorant? Have you tried other Weleda products? And do you share my obsession with finding the perfect black tank top?

My husband has been using this d.o. for years! My other best friend turned him onto it. It really works!! And he loves to switch off from the wild rose to the sage. The scent is very unisex. I LOVE the way it smells! I just saw the cutest little travel size (they were around $10) at Ricky's in NYC. So adorable!!! Anyway, if this works on my husband, it will work on anyone!!!
Geeze, if i read what DD wrote i would have known you can get this line at frickenWalgreens... The one in Huntington Beach on Brookhurst is open 24 hours too.. like thatmatters! I'll stop in there.. DD, I like some of the hippys.. But why do most of them look likethey are sick that shop at the health food stores? Riddle me this someone!
Wild Rose was the first Weleda deodorant I tried. I found the scent a bit too strong, but loved the deodorant aspect of it (and it really works!!) I switched to the Citrus scent and like it much better. I haven't tried the Sage scent. I think this is an excellent product!! I will not go back to stick or spray deodorant.
Hey Pammie, looks like you got the anser to your question. Weleda has other scents for this deodorant as well - there is a Citrus and Sage fragrance that sounds nice. Let me know if you order something and what you think of it. Ddoll - next time I’m out at your place I want to take a trip to Walgreens!
Welcome back Chi Chi, your Green Chi Tuesday were missed. There is a Walgreen’s in the town I’m heading to this weekend and I’m going to be checking this d.o. out. I wasn’t sure at first because after being over exposed by Tea Rose in my youth, anything rose smelling doesn’t make my nose happy. And then you mentioned the other two scents. I think I’ll try sage first.
Ive tried alot of expensive natural deodorants but this actually looks believing. Ima try it
I am so placing an order on drugstore.com right now. Is there any deodorant that actually works? PS - Pamela, most of those rumors have been dispelled by science. However, the idea of anti-persperant just seems wrong. I want the toxins out, not in. And if they smell like roses, all the better.
Merci MEG! I really do appreciate the tip!
This stuff is brilliant. When I read that Rachael's hub uses it, I got some for me & BFOK. He works outdoors and when he comes home I can smell him from across the room. He's been using this in Wild Rose (more of a floral scent than rose, IMO) and I do a sniff test every night when he walks in the door. No more BO, just a slight scent of flowers. Unbelievable! Next time I'm at Whole Paycheck, I'm definitely picking up the citrus. I never want to be without it!
Please don't laugh but years ago-like 18 or so, my manly man husband said that using anti-perspirant is bad for you. For many reasons we really should stay away from the stuff.. it can cause cancer and so on.. Nah, I thought.. He really meant it, and ever since then he has only used deodorant. Smart fellow.. I finally climbed on board not too long after and have tried all kinds of deodorants, only to think they stink! Tom’s, stones, and the list goes on. I have resorted to using and liking good old, Old Spice..the original formula.. It’s not bad at all. However, I love the fragrance of roses so I am anxious to try this one! Thanks for the heads up, chichi! Is this available at any particular drugstore? Let me know!
Welcome marci65! You're right, this deodorant does really work - I'm looking forward to trying the other scents. Do you have any other products in the green catogory that you love?
HI PamelaIrene! Free shipping at Dugstore.com or some Whole Foods carry the line! I love this stuff as well. And it is just so dan petty. Looks like a perfume bottle!
I like this line a lot. And they just started carrying it in Walgreens so I don't even have to go to health store to get it anymore. No chance of bumping into a hippie! Their Iris line is a great basic skin care routine for normal skin. And the Wild Rose eye cream is really fantastic too. And by the way, Chi is WAY more obsessed with tank tops than I am with lip-gloss. So there.
FYI, Mother's Market carries Weleda's Wild Rose Deodorant and Henry's can special order it too.. I'm soooo glad i asked!
I love this stuff! It is all I use through the winter here in Ohio, and the fragrance is not strong enough to compete with my perfume.
adelicaterose - you should totally try it, good stuff - it's not too expensice either. Oh and welcome to megsmakeup!
I Love this line of product! I've been using this deodorant for about two years now and I love it. The smell is not too strong just enough and keep me dry all day. I use the weleda baby line too for my son. The diaper rash cream works great on is bottom. ;-)
