BYE BYE MICHAEL VICK!!
You don't read the sports page? Yeah, I don't either. Here's what Michael Vick likes to do in his spare time. Michael Vick and 3 other men were served with a federal indictment for dog fighting. These men were accused of various things relating to this. Some of the most disgusting being the execution of dogs who didn't fight well. The methods of execution included shooting the dogs with a pistol. Wetting them down and electrocuting them or just picking them up and slamming them into the ground till they were finally dead. Some of these dogs were perfectly healthy but because they couldn't fight or make them money they disposed of them like so much trash. These actions should make any normal human being sick.
Somehow people are saying "Well, it's not like it's a crime against people so he should be OK". Fuck that, are you kidding me? It's better to take an animal with feelings and love and subject them to torture?
This is disgusting, I hope that this blog can do something, anything where we can talk about brutal dog fighting. I have been involved seriously for years in animal abuse and it makes me sick. I've always voted Republican but Senator Byrd (a Democrat) has my loyalty when he said "One is left wondering: Who are the real animals? Who are the real animals, who are the real animals -- the creatures insde the ring or the creatures outside the ring?"
I know this is not about make-up, I know it is upsetting. I know that most of our readers have pets/family members and would want to know.
Michael Vick is a rich man, he's a sick/evil man. He has a lot of money to do a lot of animal good. Until he does, I urge you to follow this link and help those that do not have a voice to speak on their behalf. Michael needs to be stopped
Look into those eyes? That was the least disturbing picture I could find. Be the voice for those that cannot speak. Help end the needless pain.

This man is a monster. And a stupid idiot, in case people don't remember this is the player that went through airport security about a year ago with pot in is water bottle (thanks for reminding me ChiChi). He got off with a slap on the wrist for that, I don't think he's going to get the same for this. What he and the others did was horrific. But it amazes me that he might only do a year in jail (if that). They found about 50 dog carcasses buried on his land! It disturbes me that animal lives aren't valued even close to what human life is. And please allow me to talk about Pit Bulls for a moment. I have a Pit, her name is Lou Lou and she's the sweetest dog I have ever known. She was a rescue dog, 11 months old with a liter of puppies dumped at a shelter. Pits usually don't stand much a chance at the shelter. But luckily there are some great organazations that see past their bad rap and save these wonderful dogs. The thing about Pit Bulls is they only want to please their owners. You get some dickhead macho piece of shit who wants a tough dog to make up for the fact that he's really a coward, they get a Pit. And they treat it badly, they want it to be mean and tough and the dogs become what is required of them. Then they're a shotty pet owner and either the dogs get loose or their just dropped off at the pound when they lose interest. And these poor dogs, who were only trying to please someone, are killed. I don't know Lou's history, but I know she was absued. Loud voices and hands swinging scare her, and she has a few scars on her. I believe she wouldn't fight, she just doesn't have a mean bone in her sweet body. And she was given up. Lucky for me cause I couldn't imagine life with out her! Not all pits are "killers". Michael Vick copped a plea yesterday, admitting guilt (which he'd denied until all his equally heinous buddies dropped the dime on him, and he couldn't lie anymore). Looks like he will get about a year (he could get up to five) of prison time, where, ironically, he'll probably end up as somebody's bitch.The NFL is actually more concerned about the gambling allegations against Vick than the animal cruelty. And yes, you read that right. If he's suspended from football, it will probably be because of that.We live in a horrible world.
A prime example of everything that is "wrong with people" today...money simply doesn't equal class.I'd like to see him thrown in with the same guys that the "Dateline" show picks up for being sexual-predatorsagainst underage girls.Hoping justice will be served and it's good that a blog about "all thing beautiful" also can show the ugly!
Whenever I hear of any abuse, whether to a human being or in this case, many defenseless dogs-I get sick to my stomach. My immediate reaction is to wish the exact treatment to be returned and done to the motherfucker who did this heinous atrocity. I know that sounds extreme, but it seems to me, that it might be the best revenge here on earth. It usually doesn’t happen that way.. As the saying goes, they get away with murder over and over again. It’ sick! Most normal people have a low tolerance for this sort of ill behavior and I think that Mr. Vick will somehow justify is actions. I swear, this is when I truly believe that every dog has his day.. and every evil deed done will be remembered some day. I do believe he will pay dearly in the next life!
This is horrific! I feel so for those poor animals that have no voice and were sentenced to cruel torture and death. I live in the Atlanta area and I have seen first hand what people do to these dogs to "make them mean" including giving them only blood instead of water, locking them in trunks of cars, etc. I am FURIOUS that Vic, with all of his funds from the NFL, thought it was ok to condone this sort of behavior. No one should let him get away with this. It would send a message to young football fans that this sort of behavior is ok. This reflects on him as a person and he is atrocious to me as a dog owner/rescuer. we have a tear drop dalmation (ziggy stardust) & a corgi/golden mix (coleco). These acts on innocent dogs, trained by methods of cruelty to attack other canines and then tossed aside like garbage, not livng beings. Vic is a monster. Do not let that reflect on the Falcons by letting him continue his career. All who participate in these acts should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. This is far from acceptable. My poor 4 1/2 year old is now afraid vic will come and take our dogs and kill them after hearing a little blurb on the radio.
It is absolutely sickening to hear about this.. I don't understand how someone could feel that this was alright, no matter what the creature is, torturing is wrong! I never knew much about dog fighting until this had happened, and it is a shame to see what people will do for money. It is shocking to see someone like Michael Vick, who I assume was making a lot of money in football, turn to dog fighting to make money. It makes me sick to think people enjoy doing this to animals. I think that this case should be treated like any murder/torture case.
Thank you for posting this. As I type my pitbull Brittany is sitting next to me. I adopted her from a rescue group and she was only half of her reccommended body weight. She is now a healthy 50 pound nut and everyone loves her, including all the other dogs we know and my kitten Bambi! Thank god she was saved from the people who were starving her and she didn't end up with a monster like Vick. See my pics for some cute doggie shots!
I mean, I'm not like crazy PETA Girl who won't wear leather shoes. But I think My life would be considerably sadder without my dogs. And beating and torturing these poor animals is WRONG. Maybe they ought to wet down and electrocute Michael Vick too! I'm sure my Yellow Lab Dixie would think that's fair...if she cuold talk!

How could anyone hurt an animal is completely beyond me as I'm sure that it's for a lot of people. Hopefully, the outcome of this will be a national awareness that many states need to create and enforce stricter laws so that this does not continue. Thanks Meg for posting this.

Kids idolize these professional sports players and then, time and time again, these guys choose to act in ways that give away the fact that they are overpaid, undereducated (yeah, Allan Iverson "went" to Georgetown, but he did not graduate and I am pretty certain he didn't spend too many seconds in class either)greedy, unmoisturized and plain stupid. To me NFL means Nordstrom For Life!

This is just aweful! Meg, thanks for posting so everyone can know what an ASS thisguy really is! I have an Englsih PitBull Terrior which is a type of a pitbulland he is the sweetest dog in the world!! He would never hurt anyone, so I know thatthe pits that have a bad name are really the owners that are making them mean.It's the owners that should be locked up, not the dogs!This is so, so sad, and something needs to be stopped to stop these bastards!

Our pets love us unconditionally and for Michael Vick to be so viscious and cruel to these poor dogs, he needs some serious punishment. If the NFL ever lets him play again, I too will boycott them. I really love the N.E. Patriots, but not more than I love animals and not more than I hate what Michael Vick has done. We are the only voice that that animals have and we need to sign that petition and get everyone we know to sign it. I applaud you Meg for bringing this to our attention. The only reason Michael Vick pled guilty was because he had no other choice. I am boycotting the NFL, NFL sponsors until they ban this piece of shit for life.
Yeah Im 2 years late, but Im so glad someone posted this! It makes me sick to think that a human being, who has the capability to help animals, would rather find entertainment in watching them kill each other.

God, that's horrible. I have only heard a little about the Michael Vick saga (it wasn't really reported here in NZ) but I think dog fighting is completely sick, even without the horrible way he treated the animals outside of the ring :(
