ARDEL LITTLE BLACK DRESS LASHES - DRUGSTORE DEAL THURSDAYS!
Every Thursday Rachael Robbins brings you the best DD's!!
There are a few staples I need in our life: a great pair of pumps, a pearl necklace, designer evening bag, signature scent, diamond studs (I’m still waiting on these!), the perfect-fit jeans, white tank or t-shirt, movie star shades, and of course a little black dress!! OH! But let’s not forget, a husband to pay for all this and a boyfriend to drool over the way I look in it! If all these components are in order, then I am ready for any type of event! Dinner party, cocktail party, reunion, hot date (boyfriend), romantic evening (husband)!!
And to compliment my humble list of “staples”, my tan needs to be sunset-worthy, my hair the prefect shade of blonde, toes and nails polished and buffed and my make-up done to a “T”!! And no make-up application would be complete without LASHES!!! OK, I totally understand that not everyone is the lash master I am. And for you lash-challenged girls out there I’ve found the solution!!
Ardel (the amazing company that outfits me in my single lashes) has come out with a line of false lashes called Little Black Dress! For $6.50 you get two sets of accent lashes, one with glitter, one without, lash glue and even a pair of teeny tiny tweezers!! The packaging is adorable and the name of each style even cuter. You can buy: Cocktail Party, Hot Date, Reunion, and Romantic!
These lashes are small enough to look natural, but big enough to give your own lashes an added boost! They are so easy to apply: don’t forget to blow on the glue for a few seconds after you apply it to the lash, remember the longest part of the lash goes at the outside corner of your eye, NEVER curl your lashes before applying the false one. And BLEND BLEND BLEND with mascara!!
Ladies, any lash tricks you'd care to share!

Has anyone tried Lorac's Publicity Stunt Mascara? It's supposed to be a cry-proof, gym-proof, last three days - wonder mascara. I fell for it and have been trying it out for the past couple weeks and it doesn't even look like I have mascara on after one day let alone three. I have really light lashes so I usually just sweep on a light coat but this isn't doing the trick. Do I have a bad bottle? Or should I be trying something else?
the pineapple smell is not the reason why i like it..it's just a little bonus. i like the mascara on it's own. oh oh btw, i wore my ardel lashes last night and they looked fab.
Ya - it makes your lashes fall out cause you have to use like Turpentine to get it off. LashFusion from Fusion Beauty is a CONDTIONER and a PRIMER. You need that - it wears SO well under your favorite mascara (like Tarte or DiorShow) and its like fake lashes! Its a must-have. Just don't wera it alone - its not meant to be worn by itself...or you'll have raccoon eyes.

I loved using Ardel's Little Black Dress lashes (I love trying their different styes...#53 and #110 are purchased quite often!) and I also have to suggest that for every day use, Megs fans pick up some of Sonia Kashuk's false eyelashes while at Target (or somewhere similar). Her "Demi-Lash Set with Glue" are perfect (no need to trim) with a handy little case for storing lashes later. The adhesive is also mild enough not to overtake your senses with fumes, but strong enough to keep those little suckers on for good.
TooMuchGloss: I can't believe you use that LashInjection - it makes your lashes FALL OUT!

absinthe: My summy siggy scent is Kai. It smells just like hawaii! Sometimes I layer it with a little Orange Blossom from Jo Malone. In the winter I switch to 24K by Jivago. I did a play with Jamie Lynn Sigler (from the sapronos) and she always smelled DE-VINE! When the run ended I finally asked her and said she's been wearing Jivago 24K since high school! It's classic but not cliche.
i adore falsies! (lashes, that is.) i've been waiting for a special occasion to get the feathery make up forever numbers, but drugstore lashes are my go-to's for garden-variety weekend nights. these look fun, i'll have to try them!p.s. rachael, what's your siggy scent?
Whoa kate rock seriously? I mean, i knew that it seemed crazy insane hard to remove, but I had no idea that it made your lashes fall out! I don't really have those kinda lashes to spare! lol. I bought the travel sized one at sephora a couple of weeks ago and I thought it separated nicely. but whoa, yeah that's bad.
but i like lash injection :( it smells like pineapples.
iceprincess26: You jusy peel them off before you wash your face at night. But if you remove the glue (w a tweezer) you can probably reuse them at least 5 times!
I thought my tube of lash injection smelled like the bubbles that you got when you were a kid. It was kinda charming.
absinthe-why do you want your eyelashes to smell like pineapple? Who's sniffing them?
I am not a fan of the Publicity stunt. Besides, (no offense) but that whole concept of leaving your makeup for 3 days is just nasty. Wash it off! Your skin will thank you! Try something else--anything bedides that publicity stunt. LORAC's Lotsa Lash is great, any of the girls around here will tell you Tarte Lights Camera Lashes, DiorShow, Givenchy Eyefly, even Urban Decay Skyscraper. Bourjoui's Yes to Volume (No to Publicity Stunt!)

Those look so cool. How many days do they last?
I have sad sad little criss-crossy lashes. I have all the crazy tools (She Umura curler, check, diorshow, lash injection, almost EVERY MASCARA BRAND UNDER THE SUN, check) but still sad sad little lashes. I have never experimented with the falsies for fear of looking like Elvira, but I'll have to check these out $6.50! Anyone know where you find them?
I love falsies! Sugar and Makeup Forever make gorgeous lashes! Use tweezers and the end of a small eyeshadow or eyeliner brush to apply them, it really helps...and whoever is using lash injection, DON'T! It's nasty! you can just kiss your lashes goodbye with that!
ok so they didn't have the "lil black dress" lashes at my local long's drugs, so i got just a plain old set of ardel lashes. i'll be wearing them tonight with my new drugstore red lipstick (what? you think i could go into a drugstore and only but ONE COSMETIC ITEM?)
I have lorac publicity stunt mascara on right now. It gave me super long lashes, and has not smudged yet, and I've had a long day of running around in the heat, had a nap, rubbed my eyes, and it's still going strong.
Funny story about false eye lashes. I had mine professionally done the day before I flew out to see my parents for the holidays. It was storming in NY and my flight got delayed at JFK for many hours--didn't take off until after 11:30pm (it was supposed to leave at 8). I ended up tipsy with a cute guy who offered to buy me drinks at one of the bars by my gate, and then I was blinking a lot because I was so tired and drunk, that I came up with the great idea to pick off half of the eyelashes as we sat on the plane in a queue as they de-iced us. The rest came off with tweezers and oil once I got to my parents. Luckily it was dark so my poor father had no idea what kind of crazy his daughter looked like.
