MOR COSMETICS CHINOISERIE SOAP COLLECTION!!

The fabulous woman of my dreams, Danielle from MOR COSMETICS sent Megs Make-Up out some of their Chinoiserie Soap Collection to test. I know this post is going to be wordy.
I LOVE all that is Art Deco, I have my bedroom outfitted with all mirrored chests and dressers. A Crystal Chandelier hangs over my bed. What would make it perfect? I have been tirelessly searching for a silk wallpaper that had a chinoiserie pattern with the gorgeous chinois bird. Something classic, almost tone on tone, a classic Hollywood Screen Star's Boudoir or one fitting of a make-up blogger. After looking high and low I had found it, it was what I needed to live my dream! It was $1,275 a roll. I didn’t even bring it to HOM as I feel the laughter would deafen me.
You can only imagine my shock to see MOR COSMETICS CHINOISERIE SOAP COLLECTION was my dream wallpaper. All of it! I could paper with their Cherry Blossom, Jasmine Tea or Peony Flower Collection and DIE VERY HAPPY!
You have to understand, this is the most gorgeous soap any of us at Megs Makeup have ever seen! The chinoiserie soap box is the most divine box I have ever been handed (I've been handed a few so take notice). So gorgeous, and the soap within is the most decadent design, a tone on tone etched scene of a lovely cherry tree and a gorgeous chinos beauty bird, Simply stunning and breathtaking presentation. Really, ladies it's a true "OOOOH"
If I had to meet a future-mother-in-law or win a lady of distinctive taste over I'd bring these soaps and be comforted in the fact I was ultra-glam!
Here is my problem. I am not worthy. I can't wet this soap. I can't review it because it is too beautiful to use. I said this to Rachel Robbins and she got mad at me "What are you? Some old lady? Use the soap, you should spoil yourself
I watched an Oprah this past week and she said the same thing. Why do we hold on to the bubble bath the gorgeous soap the bath elixir’s? USE THEM
As women we have a problem ( I know I do) about splurging on ourselves. We save the gorgeous soap as gift to someone else. Use it for yourself. Even though it is unlike me to use such a piece of art I will tomorrow in a bath so expect my post around noon.
On top of the Chinoiserie coincidence, anyone that knows me knows my favorite flower is the Peony (pillow talk peony makes me cry and I swear I am going to learn to grow them) but any Peony makes my heart sing. I can't explain the joy I feel when presented with a bouquet of them. Imagine how swept off my feet I was with a Peony Flower Chinoiserie Soap
I love feeling grand enough to own such a soap in my arsenal here's what MOR says about my Peony Soap This triple-milled soap bar embossed with delicate birds and blossom is blended with Shea Butter to moisturize and protect skin. Plant extracts of Peony, Cherry and Jasmine add botanical richness to an ultra creamy blend that will leave your skin feeling smooth and refreshed".
b> Ladies, please indulge yourself and let us know which gorgeous piece of art you were able to bathe in, Lucky ladies! Seriously, get this as a gift for someone it is so beyond!

The packaging is exsqusite! The scent is beautiful! (I actually smelled 2 different ones and loved them both) The soap is finely milled. It suds up great! The bar dosent melt down too quickly. It lasts for a long time. I am NOT a Dove girl. Most of the soaps I use are at LEAST 7$ a bar, so you can say I know my high end sopas. this one is the finest of the FINE!! A great hostess gift. I think this will even make your mother-in-law smile!!
Sometimes it's not even the gorgeous packaging holding me back from using the product, it's that I want it to last forever!! I have some Fresh showergels that smell AMAZING, and I ration them when I use them! And my caudalie shower gel?? Oh, it's sitting in my bathroom cabinet being held back for the 'perfect shower,' if there is such a thing! And by the way, Caudalie has the best bar of soap I have ever used in the shower. Ever.
The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this bar of soap was, "PERFECT hostess gift!" And I was right. Not only is the packaging simply divine, but the bar itself is a piece of art, and it smells and feels soooo luxurious! I got "Jasmine Tea" - smelling it reminds me of all the nicest hotels all around the world - it smells expensive - and when you catch a wiff of it on your skin throughout your day, you will always be reminded of how fabulous you are :)
I got Peony Flower too. I couldn't do it. I just couldn't use the soap. It's the most beautiful bar of soap I've ever seen and my dirty body is just not worthy! I'll try, I'll really try to put it in the soap dish this week. But what happens when the gorgeous debossed humming bird and Asian flowers starts to melt? What will I do then? And the beautiful pinkish silver linen-like box with the blooms? Won't it be sad without anything in it? Not to mention how sad I'll be if I can't smell the light and summery peony scent anymore. That's it-I'm not using it. I love it too much! I guess I could just buy another...
The first thing you notice is the spectacular packaging of this soap. Not only is it a beautiful box, but an equally stunning bar of soap. The smell is a refreshing cherry/rose bouquet. It was almost too pretty to crack open and use - but for the benefit of all users I did so. There is no filmy residue. It is a light cleanser without annoying your skin. This is a great light soap to keep in your extra bathroom because it is one of those products everyone can use. I also recommend this is a hostess gift. I would absolutely give it as a baby shower gift as well. If you want to really impress add the Red Envelope cherry blossom candle: http://www.redenvelope.com/re/gifts/product_display/product_information..... This is a beautiful and fragrant soap perfect for you or a guest.
I know what you are saying! I feel the same about this beautiful soap. It’s all together lovely. I think it’s the prettiest pink I’ve seen in a while. My Nana (God rest her soul) would have killed to have this.. I can hear her now... “Oh sweetheart, this smells wonderful”! This reminds me of her and all the nice things in life. Peony is amazing... I would have also liked to have smelled the others too.. I love a nice rose fragrance too. This one is however, beyond the normal pretty. I will try it today and let you know what I think about it. I often save my pretty soaps way too long and then miss some of their freshness too. I have done the same so many times it’s hard to calculate! The second it has been wet and used even once we will all be okay, it’s just a hard first step to take! Now, I’ve psyched myself up for it and am feeling anxious to partake!
I am insane for paper products and equally insane for bath products. You know those cute little boutiques that pop up in expensive neighborhoods and seaside towns that sell exquisite paper goods, beautiful high-end bath products, and gorgeous candles? They scare the pants off me. I have to make someone stand outside with my wallet or I will end up in bankruptcy if set free in one of these shops. Such places always carry MOR and they always stop me dead in my tracks. They are stunning, timeless, works of art. I have never let myself buy one of these lovely pieces because I know if I start I won't stop (I had a similar obsession with Henri Bendel candles that nearly put me in the poorhouse). So I think I might be with Stephanie on this one... but then again, Meg's right, too... We should all allow ourselves to have such beautiful things but I'm on the fence about actually using them!
So I did it, I used the soap. After the first inital scream of internal terror when the water hit it for the first time (it's still good! It's still good!) I was happy I did. Very creamy and the scent is even better when it's wet. Plus I wanted to add, these are only $15 (though they look like they're much more) so it's pretty easy on the wallet to buy another. Keep it in high soap dish though, out of the stream of water. You'll want to hang on to this as long as possible. So Lovely!
What the heck! It’s true, I felt so special.. so pampered, so not the norm for me! Nevertheless, it is so nice to feel this way once in awhile. I highly recommend unraveling this beauty-bar for sheer enjoyment and gratification to the fullest measure! I insist that every hard working (and even the slackers) women in America and around the globe make it your priority to do! Pamper, pamper and pamper some more. I swear I could get used to this- It’s more then a feeling..(Awesome song by “Boston”) It is a God given gift straight from Heaven! I still smell like a fricken Peony flower! Awesome! Need is say anymore? I am looking so forward to waltzing back into the bathroom again just so I can get another whiff of the divine aroma! Maybe even take another bath!
Seriously, I think we need some help! I too was hoarding this exquisite bar of soap for some far off perfect time to use it. But like Pammie mentioned, I have done this before and held on to soaps for so long that it loses its scent and the consistency goes weird. So I decided - what’s the point of waiting - and placed this on a pretty silver platter next to the sink in my bathroom for guest use. And it is fantastic - every time I go to use this little bar of joy I get a little pick me up to my day. The soap suds well, leaves a clean soft surface behind and has a nice subtle, yet noticeable scent. Plus the generous size ensures that you don’t end up with those sloppy, soft balls of mush that traditional guest soaps turn to after just a few uses. I received this bar in Cherry Blossoms - a soft sweet cherry scent, but I keep waffling back and forth at our meeting trying to decide between the Cherry Blossom or the Jasmin Tea - that one looked great too. As mentioned, the MOR Soaps would make an impressive house-warming or hostess type gift. I would have posted my review hours ago, but I’ve been perusing the MOR site listed above - the have these soaps in Pomegranate and Lemon grass (two of my faves) and have a ton of great looking things - check it out!
I love the packaging and design, inside and out! If I had one, I won't use it, far too exquisite.
Nice! the review was great!
This soap is so beautiful that I wouldn't use it if I had it!
