REGIS DESIGN LINE OLIVE HAIR MASQUE-HUMP DAY HAIR DAY!
Every Thursday Krisa brings you the best hair out there!
So here’s my question. How much money do we have to spend until we can look at our closets and not sigh, “I have nothing to wear”. Me, I’m a shopper. If it’s not one thing, it’s another: books, candles, music, bedding, handbags, note cards, jewelry, dishes, photo frames, plants, antiques, towels... you get the picture. There’s always some kind of obsession I’m going through, but along with whatever current must-haves, I’m always on the lookout for, and buying, clothes. What can I say? It’s what I do; I shop. Sometimes I feel like a teenage girl: Hobbies: shopping and talking on the phone. And if you’re reading this, I’m sure you’re not much different.
But somehow every time I open my closet doors I just stare at the racks, vacantly, unmoved. There must be something fabulous in there somewhere. Didn’t I just drop a few bills at Bluefly? But, no, I have nothing to wear. Again. Always.
(I have a friend who tells me she solves this problem by buying something new to wear every day. Nothing big - a cami here, a skirt there, a pair of shoes. But that way, you always have something new that you’re excited to debut. Hmm. It might solve the problem, but in practice? I’m not sure I have the time or the money.)
The other night I had a dinner date at a jazz club. I had a few minutes to stop at home after work, change, and hit the road. Instead, I spent an hour and a half trying on every possible combination in my closet. Nearly in tears, I finally hit upon the old standby of white blouse, jeans, & heels. Breathing a sigh of relief, I was ready at last to face the world. I decided right then and there that that was going to be my uniform for the rest of the season. White blouse, jeans, heels. So since then I’ve been on a tear. I need to find the perfect white blouse. Probably 5 or 6 of them. And really well-fitting jeans (not as easy as it should be!) And super cute shoes. Plus, a great jacket and handbag. Oh, and some fabulous necklaces. Earrings, too... This isn’t as easy as I thought it would be.
Here’s a hair masque that has become my old reliable: Regis Design Line Olive Oil Hair Masque. It’s reminiscent of the mayo mask that women did in the 70’s. It has a creamy, whipped consistency and smells like you could eat it. But it also gets the job done - locks in moisture, tames the frizzies, softens, and conditions. According to the package it also “increases color intensity and protects against color fade”. Can’t beat that! Or the price, which is just under $15. Which leaves me a few more dollars to spend on that perfect white blouse. Once I find it.

I love this hair mask. I have new highlights in my hair, which left it very dry, damaged and frizzy. This thick and creamy mask left my hair much softer without weighing it down or making it feel oily orlimp. The regular conditioner is really awesome too.
I have recently learned that L'Occitane makes a very similar product. Ok, now somebody else post so I don't look like a schizo.

Hey Krista or Sevey-where do you get this? Id this a drugstore line? Beauty Supply? I haven't been able to find it yet...
That's really funny. You know, if you clean out your closet and give stuff to good will - you rreally wont have anything to wear so you CAN buy new clothes. This sounds like a fabulous hair makes - especially for people who heat-style their hair (which I'm assuming is EVERYONE). Olive Oil is a natural humectant so it seals the hair cuticle - sealing the hydration IN your hair and it gives a great shine!

Glad you like it, Sevey! Let me just say this -- I've got 2 full tubs of $50 Kerastase Oleo Relax masque that have been sitting in my bathroom for months but I just ran out of my Regis mask and am having an anxiety attack!
Oh! I didn't realize that there was no link for the product! I guess you can't buy it online. You can get it at any Regis Salon, which are salons that pop up in malls and shopping centers. Sevey told me she got the shampoo, conditioner, and mask for $30, so it might be worth the drive to 'burbs. Here's a link to find locations:http://www.regishairstylists.com/salonlocator.cfm
Krista-this is funny! I like your posts. Speaking from experience, you should have a vintage obsession with something too. That way you always have something to look for at flea markets, yard sales and such. For me, it's vintage glass advertising ashtrays. I can always find them for around 3 bucks and it makes me feel thrifty. Then I can save my money for $50 candles! Plus a "collection" feels less like an obsession, no? What was this post about again? Oh yeah, this stuff looks yummy!
I have never used any masks on my hair LOL
I have no loyalty when it comes to my compulsive shopping! one week it's the search for the perfect lipgloss, the next that pair of animal print ballet flats that look great with jeans, and I'm always on the hunt for a "go-to" hair product. I actually have tried Regis products and find them as good as the higher-end salon brands. They are probably made by the same companies that make the "good" stuff. I won't get my hair cut in one of those chain places, but I do go in to get products on occasion.
Regis is an affordable brand? I was thinking this was a product that would be too cazy expensive for my budget. And I've been wanting a hair masque too! I'm growing my thick curls long so I need something that will strengthen it! SO excited. I always thought Regis was some exclusive pricey salon name brand. Glad to be proven wrong!
My hair could definitely use a mask, this one sounds like a winner, I will pick it up the next time I go to the mall.
I was going to try Coconut oil as a mask in my hair....has anyone tried that?
I love, love, love the Wen oils. Especially Fig. I put it on my hair dry, sleep in it then wash it the next day. It comes out easily in one wash, or one use of Wen, but you don't need the Wen cleansing conditioner to get the benefits from the oil. Even with my hair doused in it, my pillowcase is still clean in the morning. I put 5-8 dropper fulls on my scalp and massage, adding more until it is fairly saturated to the ends. I have seen much fewer split ends by doing this about once a week. Unfortunately, it's rather expensive, $20 for 4 oz.
