LOLA'S LIP INDULGENCE !!!!
The glossy and glamorous Alison from LOLA COSMETICS sent Megsmakeup some of their lip indulgence lip gloss out to review. It's a beautiful presentation, the package is such a cool, round tube, I reach for it all the time.
There seems to be a movement away from lipstick. Just an observation, but it seems like whenever I see a woman doing a re-apply she pulls out some sort of tube of lip gloss. I haven't seen anyone (lately) whip out their lipstick case. Is it me or do you find that lipstick is starting to be the second pick? With all of the "healing" properties glosses seem to have lately it could be attributed to that. On the other end of the spectrum is the here to stay lip plumper. Women seem to either love the instate-tingle or get freaked out and want to stay with their "protect ant gloss". Which category are you falling into?
You know what freaks me out a little bit? I'm afraid (and this is completely unfounded) that one day we might see some adverse effect to our puckers by tingling them up unnaturally everyday. However, a little future lip complication is not enough to scare me off from trying to get a bigger kisser.
Part of Lola's speil with their lipgloss is that Lip Indulgence is created with mango, coconut, passion fruit, and papaya butters, with pure flavor straight from the fruit. So I guess they fall into the "healing" category.
Desertdoll is Meg's resident lip gloss aficionado. She claims to be the expert. This is her line to get us to hand over any lip gloss we get over to her. I just wanted to call her out because for being such a "discriminating " expert, she pretty much has yet to find a lip gloss she doesn't love. So yeah, Desertdoll
you can continue to get your glosses-but I'm on to you!
Speaking of Desertdoll, you're going to be able to get to know her more next week. Believe me, to know her is to love her so you ladies will be very happy!
One of your user requests was to focus on "organic and natural products". Desertdoll would sell her mother for a crate of new glosses but she is definitely very picky when it comes to her natural products. She knows a bunch about the best ones. Once again you asked and we deliver -Desertdoll telling us the best of the best in organic lines. Look for her debut Tuesday!
Are lip glosses a here to stay, retire your lipstick item? Does Lola make you feel like a showgirl?
Here's what Lola says about their Lip Indulgence.." Glaze lips with full-coverage color that promotes healing; the scent and feel are delicious, sensuous, and absolutely addicting ".
Ladies, please post if Lola made you feel like a showgirl wanting to dance the Cha-Ca?

I own the Lola Lip Indulgence in Berry and first off, let me just say that Sephora's swatch DOES NOT do the color justice. It's a lovely, sheer, rose plum shade with no shimmer. It has the teensiest hint of fruitiness to it, thank goodness. I'm sometimes turned off by lip products that are too perfumey or floral. Upon inspection of the lip indulgences, they're not highly pigmented, but if you apply a generous amount, you get a really nice result. No skimping with the Lola. I'm loving the fact that it's not even remotely tacky, it feels like you're wearing a luxurious lip balm instead, very smooth. I remember the day that I brought "Berry" home from the Sephora...my sister told me in the store that I didn't need it because she was sure I had "dozens" of the same shade in lipgloss (such is my makeup stash), but once I got it home and put it on with some Tarte Blushing Bride cheekstain, she asked me if we could go back to Sephora the next day. Sucker! So, go on, ladies, push aside the guilt and remorse, this one's a keeper.
Chiming in on the lipstick debate discussion, I have to say I rarely use lipstick. I really can’t remember the last time I reached for a tube. Not that I don’t like the look of a strong lip, it just doesn’t translate well to me. I always look like I’m wearing too much make-up with lipstick. So, I was pretty excited to try Lola’s lip-gloss in After Dark “ a deep plum shimmer”. The color is so pretty and rich. I do not wear a lot of purplish make-up but this hue is really flattering with my fair skin. I think the sheer consistency of the gloss really helps make the color wearable for almost anyone. I also like the packaging, particularly the slanted brush applicator, very helpful when coloring the bow of your upper-lip. Other pluses of this gloss are the moisturizing feel (when the gloss starts to wear away, my lips feel smooth and hydrated not dry and sticky) and slight mint scent. High marks for this one!
I love the smooth consistancy of this lip gloss. It's not gooey, tacky and it stays on.The hint of mint scent is nice too. The color I received is CELESTIAL, which is a very pale pink, so it doesn't provide a layer of color, but just a nice shimmery glow.
Okay...so finally i get to review this! I've been wanting to try Lola's Lip indulgence since I saw the review on here! So i ordered it and i tried it JUST A WHILE AGO! I must say, I thought the colour (Passion Fruit) was gonna be a bit brighter,(guess i thought coral was like a light orangy colour) but anyway,ONCE i put the colour on, I WAS LIKE WOW...this is REALLY gorgeous!!! and i love the smell!!The brush was stiff...guess it just needed to be pressed out a bit but i really really like this, and now i wanna try another colour! lol...like dragon fruit? Does anyone have that one?
Well, I loved the feel of the lipgloss. It had great coverage and it was not sticky at all. I have to say the color I tried was not my favorite (After Dark). It made me look goth and scary, but maybe there is someone that it would look good on- someone paler than me. I did love that after I removed it, my lips still felt soft and moist- and that was great. I would definitely buy this in a shade that looked good on me.
Yeah, I agree with ChiChi. I really like the look of lipstick and there are some women who just look absolutely gorgeous in it. But I always look really, really silly. What am I doing wrong? Can you find out for me?

As seductive as a samba; as beautiful as a bossa nova! Lola's Lip Indulgence in SANGRIA bathes lips in a gorgeous color while at the same time the mango, coconut, passion fruit, and papaya butters make them soft and smooth. Plus this gloss smells and tastes yummy. Salud Sangria!
I haven't tried Lip Indulgence (yet!!!) but I wanted to drop in my two cents. I completely agree with your observation about lipstick falling from popularity. I rarely wear lipstick, and don't see many wearing anything other than gloss. The distinction between gloss and lipstick seems to be blurring more and more lately with sheer, shiny lipsticks being advertised. There are sheer glosses, super shiny glosses, colour saturated glosses, lip plumping glosses and lip balm-like glosses. In my opinion, the only reason to wear lipstick is if you want that super matte classic red lip or a super matte nude lip.
I've got a lot to say here so bear with me...First-The new Star magazine (Angelina walks out on Brad) has a feature about the return of lipstick. But I don't turn to Star for beauty advice, I turn to them to see crazy Britney pics. Cause I always reach for a lip gloss over a lipstick. And Cath has it right-there are so many formulas out there, why would you need anything else? Second-I am the lipgloss aficionado, I really am! It's just that I hardly ever meet one I didn't like (although I'll remind Meg I didn't like the Philosophy ones-so there!) So I guess it's going to be no surprise that I love the Lola Gloss. But it's true. I LOVE the Lola gloss. I must have done something right cause I got 2 (ok-I begged like a b*tch): Sweet, a sheer and summery coral and Rush, the single prettiest dark red shimmer I've ever put on my lips (stop laughing Meg) But these go way beyond just pretty color. Minty and slightly tingely, they freshen your breath. They've got jojoba and Vitamin E in them so they actually soften your lips while you wear them. And they're not sticky at all. And I'm pretty sure they could solve global warming. Yep-that good!
I love gloss and I even wear gloss over my lipstick. I used to only wear lipstick but I am wearing gloss more and lipstick less. I just like the look better and feel it looks younger on me then lipstick.
I love Lola, hmmm is there really a Lola? Anyway if there is I want to thank her personally for her products. First the packaging is so sexy! I received the gloss in Passion Fruit, which when you first see it looks like it’s going to be orange on your lips. Not to worry, it’s not. It’s a nice light coral color. I have a Lola lipstick that it looks lovely over when I want to calm that color down a bit. The gloss isn’t sticky on my lips, hate it when my hair gets stuck on my lips and this doesn’t happen. I think the thing that I love the most about it is the tingly feeling my lips get when I put it on. With all the wonderful ingredients inside of this puppy your lips not only look lovely they are getting healed too.
Lola's lip indulgence has a nice, light feel to it...however...I wasn't too crazy about the smell or the brush. The brush is small and stiff, so putting on my lips, which are kinda full, wasn't the best. Not crazy about the smell.I would recommend this if you like a nice, light lip gloss that doesn't have a ton of shine, but makes your lips feel nice and smooth, even a bit after it wears away. Wasn't one of my favorites....Milani(drugstore brand) is just as "indulgent" and only costs about $3 or a stick of Coca butter for 99 cents.
I haven't tried this product yet but I could never retire my lipsticks. As a woman always on the hunt for better lips, I always set my lipgloss/lipstick/or a combination of the two to establish my feelings for the day.
i havent tried this product, but mango and papaya butters? that really does sound healing.
