Mary-Kate and Ashley Lipgloss

I know, I know. I said I get it. Stop scratching your head. O.K. so it's been more then a few years since I have been a "Tween".
Also, we usually only do HIGH-END products but there was a bit of buzz about this.
I have a friend that works at DualStar and he said that "All of the ladies in our office LOVE the glosses. They really flip-out over them"!
So, they shipped them over to us. All different colors with 2 different kinds of packaging. A twist off top with a (rather nice) brush and the other package being a squeeze out tube.
I have to ask myself. Do MK and Ashley wear this stuff? EACH one of them is worth $150 MILLION DOLLARS! That buys a lot of high-end shizat.
Also, this is something else I've been wondering. How does MK keep landing these Richie Rich Boyfriends? I digress, let us examine.
Boyfriend #1 David Katzenberg, (Jeffrey Katzenberg-founder of DreamWorks son-dad is worth $859 million-bet he gives great allowance).Boyfriend #2 Stavros Niarchos (Shipping Heir $2.7 BILLION). Current, Boyfriend Max Snow (Oil Heir $900 Million).
Do you think she dates these guys so that she can feel safe in knowing they are not after her money? I don't know how she keeps finding these guys. She's cute and all. I think she is. Whenever I see a picture of her I can't tell between the big glasses, hat, hair in the face. Those girls are the size of a minute, I'll give them that.
I think someone should tell MK that she could double her fortune if she started some kind of learning annex school of speeches around the country. Just a quick lecture on how to nab an heir of some sort. We don't even have to have 8 figures. Seven is fine.
She could be the Tony Robbins of successful fortune hunting!! I'm calling DualStar right now!
Ladies please post if wearing Mary-Kate and Ashley's lip glosses made you feel as if you should call Paris Latsis.

O.K.-Now this is sort of related, has nothing to do with the gloss but it still cracks me up.
I was going to this tony afternoon party in a very expensive condo complex, really fancy dance and I brought a pie with me. With the music going on in the condo I was suppose to be in for the shindig, the guest couldn't hear I was buzzing her from outside.
So I am literally locked out, it's around 2pm I have a flipping pie in my hand. I was just about to go home and give up when this old couple in matching his and her jogging suits got to the front door. "Perfect", I thought to myself I'll just walk in with them.
The old couple opens the front door and I go to walk in with them. The old lady tries to shut the door on me. The old man gives her a dirty look and helps me in (I'm still carrying a large pie, people).
The old woman wants to know who I'm there to see, why they wont let me in etc. etc. Like I was going to rob someone and I brought a pie to leave behind?
After passing her inspection she agrees to let me into the elavator with her and her husband. The old man looks at me and, seriously, he says this "I'm sorry if you think we were being rude. We weren't trying to be, you have to understand it's a security issue. We're Bob Saget's parents".
I nodded that I completely understood and have been laughing about that incident for years. Thought I'd share.

Okay, I had my doubts, so I went and bought some on my own. I was right. Too sticky. I forget which color I bought, but I did buy the clear and I really like it in a pinch when I am going to the store and don't feel like doing make-up. But I think I will leave Mary Kate and Ashley for the younger crowd.
I have the Ice Rose Dazzle Gloss and I LOVE it! It provides just enough color with out being too sticky It's a great color for daytime wear or with lipliner at night. I found out you can also get these products oon mary-kate and ashley's website at shopmary-kateandashley.com.
OKAY LISTEN UP PEOLE!!! By saying that these glosses are 'teen' or 'preteen' you are absolutely offending me! I'm 12 and I am all for quality make-up and these glosses didn't make the cut. I'm not into blue eyeshadow, glitter everywhere or anything else most people consider 'teenish'. I think cosmetic companies and people alike set unrealistic stereotypes for teenage girls.
I am young, and I do like this if only because it tastes good. I don't often wear lipgloss (I'm more of a lipstick girl) but this cam make a nice change. I'm wondering, though, if anyone knows if the Mary Kate and Ashley brand tests on animals? I've tried a little research myself, but I'm not coming up with any info on the brand itself or the company that makes it.
I'll admit, I've used a few of their products, but when I didn't turn into an 85lb. Monchichi-lookalike/billionaire, I stopped. Too many of their products are heavy in large glitter (not fine, micro glitter that is actually wearable). I mean almost arts and crafts style glitter, like it looks like someone got deranged in art class. There's too many other glosses, etc. out there that are nicer than this for me to waste my money on. As for meeting Bob Saget's parents: CLASSIC! I'm so jealous!!!!
I admit it - I am a Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen fan! (Please don't call them the Olsen twins). A few years ago, The Disney Channel (?) was constantly showing Olsen movies and shows - Passport To Paris, So Little Time, Two Of A Kind, I watched them all. So, it's not surprising that I've tried a few items from their cosmetics line whenever I was scanning the drug store for a fun purchase. Unfortunately, they skewed as young as I imagined, too glittery (a baby blue eye shadow) and too sweet and fruity smelling (a bath wash) for a woman in her 30's. I resigned myself to department store brands only. Then the divine Miss Meg sent me MK&A's Dazzle Gloss in pink rose. I have a new found respect for this line. The package is sleek and simple, a squared off tube with a twist off brush applicator. The gloss is a deep and rich pink with just a hint of sparkle. It has a really nice shine applied alone to the lip for daytime. I've used it over lip liner for a soft and polished lip at night, very pretty. I thought the consistency was great - it gives a great shine that lasts well, stays put but isn't sticky. Also, there was no fruity smell, which I really appreciate. I will checking out the tube glosses on my next trip to the drug store!
I too am a fan of these girls. I've never seen any of their shows or anything like that but I like the Dumpster chic thing. And, I really like the gloss. It is very "teenage" that is, goopy, slippery, sticky and yummy but it's fun! It reminds me of being a teenager and thinking that strawberry lips and strawberry and babypowder everything would make boys want to kiss me. That was before I knew that boys don't really like kissing yucky lipgloss. Oh well, boys are stupid. Nice color. Nice shine.
You know, I just think I'm too old for lipgloss with actual multi color sparkle in it that smells like a cupcake, which "vanilla icing" was. If I was 22 and going to a club, I'd be all over it. But it's really weird, somehow all my clothes and accessories seemed larger-my sunglasses, my cardigan sweater, even my purse. It all just kind of hung off me! And I suddenly found John Stamos really hot, in an Uncle kind of way. In their defense, I have heard that a lot of their lipglosses are exact replicas of MAC lipglosses (google it), but not this one. And I like bargins, but I'm a lipgloss snob and this just didn't cut it for me.
In response to Desert Doll's fear of Glitter. I say: don't be! Glitter is a great trick because of the way it reflects light. From far away glitter tricks they eye into not seeing wrinkles where there are some...especially those little vertical lines we get in our lips from smoking and drinking out of strawas and...you know whatever. Don't be afraid of glitter--just don't go overboard! ;)

Too goopy, too sparkly, WAY too smelly. And I just couldn't let it mingle in my bag of glosses with Royalty like : Freeze 24/7, Lip Fusion, and Famous from Cat Cosmetics. My glosses would never forgive me! If you are 6 to 13 years old you will LOVE love l-o-v-e this product.
I tried one of the tube lip glosses probably like 4 or 5 years ago and I remember I liked it...I wonder why I haven't tried it since. The next time I'm at Walmart I'll have to check it out
I got the ice pink color - which is a very pretty natural color. I love the wet look this gloss gives from afar, but if anyone got anywhere near me, I think I would cover my mouth... I guess I just really don't like my lips to look like I doused them with glitter... The one good thing it does do is provide the lips with moisture. I will be passing this along to my five year old cousin, who will squeal with delight every time she uses it.
I got a plumping version of their gloss. It was kind of weird. Not terrible but not worth the few bucks it cost either. It was just too sticky! And I can't understand why young girls would be all that concerned with lip plumping. I gave it to the flower girl from my wedding. She loves the Olsens!! She adored the gloss!
i don't know why... i really hated these gloss. it felt tacky on my lips i thought it was way too glittery, two thumbs down!

too sticky!but i agree, what exactly is a "teen" product, huh?ps. love the story! ;Dhaha.
I agree with t.o.m.l. What is a teen product :P I don't think I would consider these, but thanks.
