Hard Candy Eye Shadow Quartet in "Suede"

The Hard Candy rocking reps sent us their "Eye Shadow Quartet in SUEDE" to review.
God, I am really starting to get old. I remember how hot I was sporting Chanel's Vamp at eighteen. In Los Angeles, I really went for it. Maybe I couldn't pay my electric bill but God knows I was at the nail salon every Thursday. I remember being so confident and trend-setting that I brought MY OWN Hard Candy Sky Blue nailpolish because the salon didn't even have it yet.
That's how I remember Hard Candy, cutting-edge and trend-setting.
One of our tester's wrote to me that this was the same palette she used on her wedding day (over twenty years ago).
What's up Hard Candy ? Are you over re-inventing? Brown and blue has been around forever. It worked then, does it work now?
Does this combo work on both Brown and Blue peepers? Is this the combo every girl needs? Has Hard Candy perfected the brown/blue theme to our modern times? Ladies please POST if this classic has been fine-tuned into trendy and on the pulse?

I have to say that this is my second favorite tiny blue box that I have ever received. I'm a green eyed gal so these browns with the shimmer work great for me. I was scared of blue so I had a friend try it out. She wears purple mainly because and I'm not lying she has one green eye and one brown eye. She swears the purple helps even out her eye color. It must because I knew her for about 2 months before I noticed. Anyway she loved the blue. Regardless of weather or not these colors work with your eyes or skin tone this is a great product. Perfect amount of shimmer, goes on like glaze on a Krispy Creme and awesome packaging.
I'm another blonde blue eyed tester and every time I've had my makeup done, they do my eyes in all blue or all brown so I was excited to get this combo. The shades are more than just brown or beign, much jazzier with hues of gold and tan. I'll experiment more, but I used the gold color over my eyes and used the blue as liner. I was amazed that at the end of the day it still looked in place and fresh. Thanks Meg for another product I would have been too scared to buy on my own but will now probably buy again!
This is one of the prettiest shadow combinations I have ever seen and so much fun to experiement with.I have enjoyed blending the colors as well as layering them and wearing them alone. Really endless opportunities to be creative - which I love. The powders blend easily and apply smoothly and they didn't crease on my eyelid - however, I must confess to having used a "base fix-it" for eyelids by Arden prior to applying the colors.I may not be able to be as objective about these shadows as I would like to be because they brought back fond memories of wearing this combination on my wedding day in 1973. As with Chanel No.5, I will probably always be attracted to this color grouping just out of nostalgia. This is a great product, with attractive packaging.
I always wanted an eyeshadow that was the perfect compliment to a mystic tan and this is it! Subtle enough to give you that sun kissed look but effective enough to shade and contour. Beautiful!
i LOVE this!!!! my eyes are usually really sensitive to sparkley eyeshadow. ....i have to wear creams cuz my eyes get red and itchy. but this is great!! i love the colors and no itchy, red eyes!!! and the colors are so perfect.the only bummer is that they got pretty brocken during shipping, but i'm totally using it anyway. love love love!!!!
I love the colors. The hard candy shadows are just sort of mediocre in formulation. Which I dont understand because Urban Decay and Hard Candy are one and the same so you'd think they'd be the same...but no.

I'm not a huge eye shadow person, but these colors are nice. They blend well and don't make you look too over the top. Overall, i give it a thumbs up. Nice job Hard Candy.
Liked the browns. The blue was a little bold in the compact, but on it was a little less intimidating. Not a fan of real sparkly shimmery shadows though and Hard Candy makeup in general isn't my speed.
Nice color combo in this kit I especially loved the brown hue, however something about the Hard Candy line is not for me. Maybe it is just too juvenile?! I'm too serious?!? I don't know what but I gave it to my funky friend who knows what to do with blue shadows and she was more than thrilled with the product. She told me that the shadows are quality, they stay on and blend well. So overall, this is a great product!
Although you would think these colors suit a fair haired blue-eyed blond well, I am afraid they were totally wrong for me. The gold did not look right on my skin. I do like the package.
I remember when Hard Candy first came out with the nail polishes and I was hooked. Though it's been a while since I have used one of their products, the eye shadow compact did not disappoint. Well-designed packaging with two brushes, and fun colors that are completely wearable. The shadow has a smooth consistency and doesn't require multiple strokes to get the desired color. And the colors themselves? Stunning. I have green eyes, and the gold undertones in the browns made my eyes pop and the turquoise enhanced my green color. A win, once again.
As another blue eyed Meg's tester, I always fall back on brown shadows to makemy eyes pop. This sleek, hip yet elegant compact is fab! I have used more subduedbrowns and creams so the gold shimmer and turquoise were new colors for me. I foundthe gold to be surprisingly wearable and flattering. The shimmer is subtle and a quick brushacross the brow really highlights my blue eyes. I especially love the lower two browncolors for an easy polished look during the day. The packaging is first rate. Functional and slim enough to fit into a clutch, yet theysqueezed in four eye colors, two small applicators and a mirror. The small, slantedbrush that is included is great if you wet it and use the turquoise or dark brown powderas en eyeliner. Hard Candy has produced a compact with totally hip and now colors thatI will be using for a long time.
I'm a blue eyed blonde and I love it (although I do have a darker skintone than katecasey). I love brown eye shadow. It's my go to color for my blue eyes and work really well. This was no exception. Great colors! And the turquoise added a great alterantive that worked well with all 3 of the browns for a poppy twist. I like that it's shimmer not glitter and the shadows did blend very well. My only complaint is that I wish the 3 browns were in more of a range, they're all very similar to each other. I would have loved a really dark one for a liner and a light tan for highlighting. But overall, loved it!
When I opened these shadows! I was like "ohh these look cool!" Hard Candy does a great job of packaging this product. I liked the case and the brushes that were included. As much as I love the rich blue and brown combination I just can't seem to make the blue work on my eyes. Maybe I need a makeup lesson? I do use the browns and think the shadow is easy to apply and stays where you put it. So I use the 3 out of the 4 colors. I think Hard Candy is fun and functional!
I can't get enough of brown eyeshadows, but the blue shadow in the combo is a first for me in a long time. I recently wore the blue to a wedding I attended where I wore a black dress and let me tell you that I fell in love with it all over again. The brown shades go well with basically anything. The fact that the shadows are metallic shades give a very nice dramatic look for night time, but is not overwhelming for the day either. The colors swept over my eyelids so perfectly that I didn't even have to apply a double coat. The tiny compact is great because I can take it anywhere and the shadows stay intact where as other shadown break apart and flake off everywhere. What a great addition to my eye makeup!!
I love the color combo in this Hard Candy shadow. I too am a big fan of brown and bluetogether. I never would have thought of putting them together but it really works. The shadow goes on great with an applicator or brush and blends very well with liner. The lighter shade is a great effect for evening which makes this a really complete eye shadow kit. The case is very well made and has a sleek look to it. I like thatit comes with a brush to apply also. This is a great shadow and would work for justabout anyone.
I don't have this particular quartet, but I have one in "Moody." It's really pretty. Silver and plum and mint and navy. All kind of foggy and well, moody! The quartet reminds me of Portland, Oregon, colors muted in the fog, and shrouded in mist. The shadows are well pigmented and they all blend together very well. I'm very pleased.
this is so pretty!!! gorgeous neutral colours, i wonder if oz sell hard cardy cosmetics..

I really like the neutral colors and the blue in this quad. The brown/blue combo look would look really pretty, especially with the blue on the outer crease or the blue as an eyeliner.

These colours remind me of those I received in a different palette. They totally suit my brown eyes and the blue makes them pop.
